Forgot to say this earlier, but I've closed up the Juicy July YCH for the year. Thanks to all who ordered a YCH from me this year and apologies for not being able to get through them quickly due to my work schedule. I will still work on those whose orders I currently have.

As I've hit a major expense over the course of July, I am considering opening commissions after I'm caught up with the YCH. However, due to rising costs, I may have to slightly raise my commission prices before I reopen. Those I promised a commission prior to the price increase will be locked into the old pricing. All new commission orders after will be under the new price. Stay tuned for further details.

And with the last entry completed, Waifu-bruary has officially concluded. I didn't expect to be able to get at least 1 waifu a day but I'm somehow managed to pull it off.
Thanks for all the suggestions and feedback throughout the month. Who knows? I may do another one in the future with a new set of characters.

I decided to try something for February to help try to get my drive to draw back. So I'm going to try a month-long drawing challenge based on a theme. I call this theme "Waifu-bruary" where I sketch out popular fictional crushes and post them as I get them done.

Originally, I planned to do one daily. But due to my busy work schedule, I'll instead just try to draw as many as I can for the whole month of February. I have a list set up in advanced, but if you have a suggestion for a "waifu", you can comment below. Mainstream/popular characters only. No OCs. Also note that they will be drawn normally and as close to the original style as best as I could. And please remember that I'm only asking for a suggestion, not taking requests. So there will be no complaining if yours didn't get picked or if I didn't draw them to how you want them.

Apologies for the lack of updates and activity as the holiday rush has been keeping me busy at work. I would like to make a couple announcements before the holidays officially start.

First up, I've just posted the last commission I've done for the year. To help prepare for the new year, I will be taking the rest of the year off from drawing for some much needed time to rest and unwind. I have some personal projects planned for the coming year so I hope you'll look forward to them once I can start.

On the topic of commissions, this relates to the second thing I wanted to say. I'm happy to report that after a couple years, I've finally caught up to most of my commissions that I've taken in since then. The only reason I've taken so much during that time was because I was unemployed and is uncertain if I could land another job to keep me afloat. When I landed a new job, it was originally for a seasonal position so I didn't know whether or not I'd still have a job once the holiday season ended. I was fortunate enough to be kept on as a full-time employee. However, I didn't expect how busy I'll be with the constant shifts in my schedule which can have me work at various times in the day. I would like to apologize to those who waited a long time for me to start on their commissions and I hope I can manage them better now that I have fewer hanging over my head. I know I still have at least 1 other commission that's currently on ice and there's one other I'm still trying to get a hold of to confirm if they still want their commission from me. If there's others that I may have forgotten, please let me know. I hope I can manage my commissions better and if and when I can take commissions again, I'll not take on as much and do them in a more orderly fashion.

With how busy life and work has been keeping me and barely giving me any free time to draw for myself and my commissions, I've been considering taking a break from the Thanksgiving collab this year. It has been a fun tradition doing this each year, but each passing year has starting to take its toll on me. I currently have no plans to just end it entirely. I just need a break from it and maybe see if I can think of something new and fresh as each year has been mostly the same with the only changes being the background and the viewing angle. At this time, the decision to take a break from it for a year isn't set in stone yet. It's still fairly early on in the month and I could still change my mind about this.

It's that time of year once again.
Every year, I hold a collab where each artist submits a character to prepare for the Thanksgiving parade.
As before, this collab will be open to all from both DA and FA. Please help spread the word about it if you have an account on FA.
Even if you're not from the US or you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, you are allowed to enter the collab as long as you follow the rules.

The point of view for this year will be a 3/4 angle facing to the left. That means they're facing halfway between directly towards the viewer and to the left. Here's the general idea on how the background angle will look: Collab Example. My entry for example: Clarice Parade

Here are the rules:

1. Post in this journal or note me if you wish to enter.
2. Must be your own original character. No popular trademarked characters. NO EXCEPTIONS
3. This has been asked before, but I should mention this: Despite that the past collabs are female heavy, male OCs are permitted to join as long as the rules are followed.
4. No mature content. Breast expansion is okay as long as they are clothed for example.
5. Please put effort in your entries. Entries that are just a circle tool with a head won't be accepted for example. No templates, bases, preexisting pics, or tracing others' entries either, please.
6. For the non-artists (writers for example), you can have another artist draw your OC for you on the condition that they have permission from their creator/owner to do so. This applies only for the non-artists. The idea behind the collab is to see other people's styles in a single page and it loses that feel if only a couple people did all the work. Also, please credit the artist so I'll know who to give credit to.
7. Having the entry colored is encouraged due to more time available to finish.
8. I'll provide the background so do not draw your entry on a background. Transparent background is preferred to make it easier for me. If you cannot make your character on a transparent background, just put it on a white background and I can do it for you if needed.
9. When your entry is complete, link me to the drawing so I may prepare them for the parade.
10. For the balloons, I will accept inflated characters and characters transformed into parade balloons. Though feel free to get creative as long as they're basically balloons for a parade.
11. Please include the name of the character you're entering after you posted your entry to make it easier for me to give credit.
12. The deadline is November 22nd, the day before Thanksgiving day. The finished collab will be posted on Turkey day. Though I will do a morning sweep on the day for last minute entries.
13. This year, I'm going to set a limit to a number of characters per person. You can only submit up to 3 OCs of yours at a time. If you're drawing an entry for someone else on their behalf, this won't count against you.

Failure to follow the rules can and will render your entry invalid.

Thought I should provide an update to what's currently going on in my life.

Art uploads has been slow as of late due to a major change to my work schedule. As part of my new position, there will be weeks where I'll be working overnight which can make it difficult to work on my art outside of my days off. I will try to catch up on my commissions as soon as possible whenever I can find enough free time to do so. I just ask for your patience as I try to adjust to my new schedule.

Apologies for the lack of activity as of late.

Due to recent events, my mental health has been declining which is making it difficult to get motivated and focused on my art. For this reason, I'm currently on hiatus from drawing for an unspecified amount of time. I apologize to those that I owe commissions and Patreon tier rewards for. If needed, I can issue refunds for those on my Patreon for the time I missed their rewards for. I don't know how long my hiatus will last for but I will announce when I'm ready to return to art.

I've just learned that my mother passed away today. All commission and Patreon work will be on hold while I mourn.

Sorry for the lack of updates. My new job has been keeping me very busy recently. While this means that I no longer have to rely solely on commissions for income, it does slow down my art as well as the commissions that I currently owe. For that reason, regular commissions will remain closed for quite some time.

While regular commissions are closed, I will still continue working on the sketch rewards for my Patreon supporters. In addition, I decided to add another perk for my patrons. When I realized that having my commissions closed would be detrimental for the commission discount tiers, I decided to open up a separate queue just for Patreon supporters to take advantage of their discounts. The Lunar New Year is upon us once again. This year is the Year of the Tiger.

While I continue to struggle trying to maintain an income through commissions, I am happy to report that I've gotten a job offer and accepted it. I will be starting my new job soon so to help prepare for it, I will be closing commissions temporarily. This just means that I won't accept any new commissions for a while until I'm used to the new work schedule. Those who are already in my queue as well as my Patreon supporters will still have their commissions worked on as soon as possible. Perhaps once I've cleared out most of those in my queue and get used to the new work schedule, I will reopen commissions.
