Due to my current financial situation, I decided to announce this earlier than planned.

As some of you may or may not know, July is National Blueberry Month. So to celebrate, I'll be doing a YCH special all month long where your OC will be berried while taking a selfie. During this time, all regular commissions are on hold and I won't be open for them until after the YCH.

I ran this last year exclusively on a Discord group, and I'm making this open to the public for this year.

The price is $15 each for simple shaded with a stock background and includes both a pic with the phone UI and a version without the UI.
I'll be starting work on this after this weekend but in the meantime, I can start taking orders. To make this fair, I will work on each YCH in the order given and rather than announcing when the 4 slots are reopened, I will form a queue and work on the top 4 on my list at a time. This way, there won't be any fighting for a slot. In addition, I will only take one order per person at a time so everyone can get theirs done before the end of the month. Though once everyone has gotten one, I can take multiple orders if you wish for another one. Depending on the amount of orders, I could extend this into August to finish up any remaining orders.

The Lunar New Year is upon us once again. This year is the Year of the Ox.

Thought I should give some updates for this month.

First, my commission prices have been updated with new rates. It's only a small increase for now as I've been relying more on commissions for income. Those that were still in my queue before the increase will still pay the old commission pricing.

On that note, regular commissions have been reopened. Though for the time being, I'll only take a couple at a time so I can also work on those in my current queue. While I can accept new commissions, they may not be worked on until the new year to give me time to enjoy the holidays.

In addition, I've been working out ideas for my Patreon as well as comics and art packs I can try selling in the future. At the moment, I'm still gathering feedback on them but expect to see them during 2021.

On a final note. My Christmas wish for this year is for someone to remember my December birthday.

Tonight's stream will be a PWYW (Pay What You Will) commission stream. I'll be mainly doing icons in the style of Pokémon Trozei/Shuffle/Café Mix while working on other commissions and Patreon pics in between. This time around, I'll throw in drawing OCs in the style of Animal Crossing as an option.

How this works is that if you have a Pokémon/Fakemon character, you can have them made into an icon styled after those games. As this is a fun project I enjoyed doing, I will allow one freebie for those that haven't gotten one from me yet. Though you are still more than welcome to give a donation. Any additional icons will require payment but you are free to pay whatever amount you feel is worth for them.
For the Animal Crossing styled characters, the amount of work will be based on the amount paid. In other words, depending on the amount, it can be just a sketch all the way up to a simple shaded lined commission.

It's that time of year once again.
Every year, I hold a collab where each artist submits a character to prepare for the Thanksgiving parade.

As before, this collab will be open to all from both DA and FA. Please help spread the word about it if you have an account on DA.

Even if you're not from the US or you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, you are allowed to enter the collab as long as you follow the rules.

Here are the rules:

1) Post in this journal or note me if you wish to enter.
2) Must be your own original character. No popular trademarked characters. NO EXCEPTIONS
3) This has been asked before, but I should mention this: Despite that the past collabs are female heavy, male OCs are permitted to join as long as the rules are followed.
4) No mature content. Breast expansion is okay as long as they are clothed for example.
5) Please put effort in your entries. Entries that are just a circle tool with a head won't be accepted for example. No templates, bases, or preexisting pics either, please.
6) For the non-artists (writers for example), you can have another artist draw your OC for you on the condition that they have permission from their creator/owner to do so. This applies only for the non-artists. The idea behind the collab is to see other people's styles in a single page and it loses that feel if only a couple people did all the work.
7) Having the entry colored is encouraged due to more time available to finish.
8) I'll provide the background so do not draw your entry on a background. Transparent background is preferred to make it easier for me. If you cannot make your character on a transparent background, just put it on a white background and I can do it for you if needed.
9) When your entry is complete, link me to the drawing so I may prepare them for the parade.
10) The point of view will be a 3/4 view facing to the right. That means it's between facing directly at the viewers and facing to the right.

11) For the balloons, I will accept inflated characters and characters transformed into parade balloons. Though feel free to get creative as long as they're basically balloons for a parade.

13) Currently, there is no limit to the amount of characters you can enter. However, if there are too many characters entering, I will set the limits.
14) NEW RULE: Please include the name of the character you're entering after you posted your entry to make it easier for me to give credit.

As usual, this year, I'll be open to commissions for your entries. Well, I finally caught up with all of my regular and stream commissions. For the moment, I'll be closing commissions for the time being so I can catch up to my comic and sequence commissions as they take a lot more focus. I will also be focused on my monthly Patreon tier rewards and have plans for future rewards and content for my page.

I will let you know when I'll be taking commissions again. Though when I do, there will be a slight price increase. The reason for that is as I now rely on commissions more than ever, I will need to raise the rates to maintain a living. The increase will start small but I'll still try to be affordable.

Thought I should give everyone an update to what's been going on with me since the last journal.

First, I have been able to pay off for the repairs on my car thanks to all of the support I got through commissions and donations so a big "Thank You!" to all that supported me. The support I've been getting has been tremendous and I'm deeply touched by this.

And now for the current events:
As of last week, my city has pretty much closed up all of the businesses save for the essential ones so it's been a ghost town in here. In all of the times I've lived here, I've never seen the place so empty. It's quite nerve-wracking. Though in all honesty, the lifestyle change hasn't been much different for me as I usually don't go out much to begin with. The only adjustments I had to make are the adjusted times for the stores that are still open and dealing with shortages on certain foods and supplies. Fortunately, none of my friends and family have caught COVID-19 yet and they are taking this seriously to avoid catching it and spreading it to others.

As I'll be spending more time at home, I will continue to work on my commissions as well as my personal projects. I'm also looking for more ideas on what I could add to my Patreon so I'm open to suggestions. On that note, stay safe, wash your hands, and take care during this difficult time in our world. We'll get through this.

Lately, I've been having problems financially due to a lack of job even though I've been searching for one for months. Unfortunately, now I'm really in a hole due to having to pay for my car repair which pretty much wiped out my bank account. In addition, I've been kept busy which is also keeping me from being able to work on my commissions in a timely matter. Which is why commissions have been a slow process. I am entirely grateful for everyone that commissioned me to help support me during this difficult time. I really hate to ask for donations, but now I'm really in a tight spot so I won't say no to any given. For now, I'll try to get them done so I can take in more to get me out of this bind. At the moment, there's no plans for a price increase, but I will say when one will take effect.

To help with my situation, I've added a new commission option. I'll be doing colored sketches for $10 for a single character, plus $5 for each additional characters. I'll have an example up soon for those but they are fairly popular when I tested it on the Discord groups I'm in. They're also a reward tier on my Patreon though all of the spots are filled up currently as I'm starting small to test the waters so I don't overwork myself. I'll also try to hold commission streams when I can find the free time and energy to do so.

It's Chinese New Year once again. This year, it's the Year of the Rat and the start of the new 12 years.

Now that Turkey Day has come and gone, I should update my journal for the holiday season.
I've already begun to reopen commissions to help earn some more income while I continue seeking for another job. So far, I've had no luck getting my foot in the door but I'm still trying. I also should make use my Ko-fi and Patreon accounts and start working on more content for them. So far, I have no plans for anything that's fully exclusive to them. Though I have been considering timed Patreon exclusive content where it's only exclusive to patrons for a limited time before it gets posted in my main galleries for free. And of course, patrons could get sneak peeks and WIPs of my other projects once I can find the time to work on them. Said projects include comics and animations I have plans for a long time. As of Sunday night, I am now officially unemployed. I have a couple jobs lined up so I hope that I'll land one of them soon. In the meantime, I'll be doing commissions full time. I've already gotten a few commissions already before the business closure that I need to finish up before I can take more. When I'm finished most of them, I will start taking more. I'll also look into other options such as Patreon and stream events to help with my situation. I appreciate all of the support I've been getting since I've made the announcement last month and I hope I won't disappoint.

I feel that I must inform everyone that by the end of the month, I will be out of a job. The place I currently work at is shutting down due to poor management and business. Personally, I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I've always hated this job and tried to find another so I'm glad that I don't have to stay anymore. On the other, I have yet to find another job and may have to do commissions full time until I can land another. Which brings us to the next topic.

Since I'll probably have to rely on commissions even more to stay afloat financially, I'll be reopening commissions publicly soon as well as trying to finish up the commissions that I owe. I really need to try to limit the comic and sequence commissions to make sure I can get them done. I'll also try to add some more perks and rewards for my Patreon for additional support.
