Commission Slots
Posted 6 years agoSince I've been getting a lot of commissions in a short amount of time lately, I'll have to set up a slots system to help control my workflow. A lot of older bigger commissions have been pushed back because of the sudden influx and it's not really fair that they get pushed back while I work on the newer commissions. So starting today, I'm setting up slots for regular comms as well as bigger projects. As they've been already filled, commissions will be closed for now. But I will make the announcement when I can start accepting more.
Patreon and A Question
Posted 6 years agoIt's been a while since my last journal, I thought I'd make a big update.
First, I've finally opened up a Patreon. At the moment, there's only a tier for donations. I haven't thought up any ideas for reward tiers and exclusive content yet. But I am open to ideas. In addition, if there's any exclusive content, it'd only be exclusive for a period of time before it gets posted here as well as on DA.
If anyone's interested, here's the link to my Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arrowny18
The second thing I wanted to bring up is that I recently started using a new art program. Some of you may have noticed that my drawings look a bit different than usual. I recently got Clip Studio Paint to help with my art. In addition, I have the EX version which has unlimited animation so I could be getting back to animations again as soon as my financial situation improves. I wanted to ask if you think my art has been getting better or worse since changing programs. I'm still getting the hang of some of the features. But for the most part, I can draw on it just as well as my old ones.
And that's it for the updates. Thanks for reading and please provide feedback if you have ideas for Patreon rewards and content and on me using a different art program.

No Streaming This Week.
Posted 6 years agoJust a quick heads up.
No commission stream this week. I just got Clip Studio Paint EX from a sale and will be playing around with it for a while.
All commissions will be on hold while I get the hang of it.

Year of the Pig
Posted 7 years agoIt's that time of year again: Chinese New Year. This year, it's the Year of the Pig.
If you're born on the year 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, and 2007, this is your year.
Pigs are diligent, compassionate, and generous. They have great concentration: once they set a goal, they will devote all their energy to achieving it. Though Pigs rarely seek help from others, they will not refuse to give others a hand. Pigs never suspect trickery, so they are easily fooled.
General speaking, Pigs are relatively calm when facing trouble. No matter how difficult the problems are Pigs encounter, they can handle things properly and carefully. They have a great sense of responsibility to finish what they are engaged in.

New Ko-fi Goal
Posted 7 years agoI've added a Ko-fi goal where I'm trying to get a new art program to help with my art. I'm hoping to get Clip Studio Paint and every bit helps along with my commissions.

My Birthday (12/27/18)
Posted 7 years agoI might as well announce it here since there's no birthday system in this site.
Today is my birthday. But I'm usually low-key about it for many reasons. The main one being that no one ever really celebrates it with me on my actual birthday. One of the many hardships of being a December baby.

Reopening Commissions
Posted 7 years agoNow that Thanksgiving is over, I should let everyone know about my situation.
During the last couple months, I had to take a big pay cut from my current job and I'm barely making any income for food and other necessities. As many of you know, I started doing commission streams to try to keep my head above water while I try to seek another job. So far, I had no such luck so now I'm going to reopen regular commissions. Do note that there have been a change in the pricing. Please refer to the commission info tab for the new pricing.
For the time being, I'll still continue doing Stream Commissions. I also have a Ko-fi set up for donations if you like what I do and wish to support me.

Thanksgiving Collab 2018
Posted 7 years agoUPDATE: And the collab pic is up. Thanks for participating this year and I hope to see you again next year!
It's that time of year once again.
Every year, I hold a collab where each artist submits a character to prepare for the Thanksgiving parade.
As before, this collab will be open to all from both DA and FA. Please help spread the word about it if you have an account on DA.
Even if you're not from the US or you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, you are allowed to enter the collab as long as you follow the rules.
Here are the rules:
1) Post in this journal or note me if you wish to enter.
2) Must be your own original character. No popular trademarked characters. NO EXCEPTIONS
3) This has been asked before, but I should mention this: Despite that the past collabs are female heavy, male OCs are permitted to join as long as the rules are followed.
4) No mature content. Breast expansion is okay as long as they are clothed for example.
5) Please put effort in your entries. Entries that are just a circle tool with a head won't be accepted for example. No templates, bases, or preexisting pics either, please.
6) For the non-artists (writers for example), you can have another artist draw your OC for you on the condition that they have permission from their creator/owner to do so. This applies only for the non-artists. The idea behind the collab is to see other people's styles in a single page and it loses that feel if only a couple people did all the work.
7) Having the entry colored is encouraged due to more time available to finish.
8) I'll provide the background so do not draw your entry on a background. Transparent background is preferred to make it easier for me. If you cannot make your character on a transparent background, just put it on a white background and I can do it for you if needed.
9) When your entry is complete, link me to the drawing so I may prepare them for the parade.
10) The point of view will be forward and a bit to the left. In simpler terms, it's mostly facing to the left but also facing the viewer a bit.
Here's the general idea on how the background angle will look: https://sta.sh/025w160bghtz
Here's my entry for an example: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/29236082/
11) For the balloons, I will accept inflated characters and characters transformed into parade balloons. Though feel free to get creative as long as they're basically balloons for a parade.
12) The deadline is November 21st, the day before Thanksgiving day. The finished collab will be posted on Turkey day. Though I will do a morning sweep on the day for last minute entries.
13) Currently, there is no limit to the amount of characters you can enter. However, if there are too many characters entering, I will set the limits.
If there's anything I forgot to mention, leave a comment and I'll get to you asap.
For this year, I will open up 2-3 slots between DA and FA for a collab entry commission. Due to circumstances, there has been a slight price increase, but I hope it will still be reasonable. The price for a single character entry is $15 and will be fully shaded.
1) SagashiIndustries (DA) Done!
2) Vorny (DA) Done!

Year of the Dog 2018
Posted 7 years agoIt's that time of year again: Chinese New Year. This year, it's the Year of the Dog. And it's my year as well.
If you're born on the year 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, and 2006, this is your year.
People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other people's confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They care little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues. Dog people make good leaders.

Year of the Rooster

If you're born on the year 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, and 2005, this is your year.

Roosters are talkative, outspoken, frank, open, honest, and loyal individuals. They like to be the center of attention and always appear attractive and beautiful.
Roosters are happiest when they are surrounded by others, whether at a party or just a social gathering. They enjoy the spotlight and will exhibit their charm on any occasion. They expect others to listen to them while they speak, and can become agitated if they don't. Vain and boastful, Roosters like to brag about themselves and their accomplishments. Their behavior of continually seeking the unwavering attention of others annoys people around them at times.

If you're born on the year 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, and 2004, this is your year.

In addition, their gentleness and honesty bring them an everlasting love life. Happy Turkey Day
Posted 10 years agoI hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.
As some of you know, I hold a Thanksgiving collab every year on DA. What surprised me is that plenty of artists here on FA wanted to take part. It's got me thinking that maybe I should extend it to FA for next year so all of my furry friends can join in on the fun. What do you all think?
Here is the collab pic in question: http://fav.me/d9i3fnx

A little update
Posted 10 years agoJust thought I should give a little update. First, I wanted to thank everyone who gave their condolences during a very difficult time for me. It wasn't easy getting through it but hearing everyone helped me to press on forward.
I hope to catch up to my artwork and open up commissions here. Assuming anyone here is interested in one from me. I'll try to get more pics posted here to show that I'm still active. Even though I'm much more active on DA.

Death in the family.
Posted 10 years agoThought I should mention it here as well even though I'm not watched here as much as on DA.
My grandmother passed away last night. She was loved by the whole family and every family gathering with her was a happy moment. At least until yesterday...
I need time before I can try to draw again. It was so sudden and so soon. I can't believe this is happening...

Out of Curiousity
Posted 10 years agoRecently, I noticed that I had a huge influx of watchers. While I do appreciate it, I was mostly curious to why someone would watch me. I'd like to know what my watchers expect from me so maybe I can work on the type of content more.
So, here's a question for all of my watchers: What is your reason for watching me?

Year of the Sheep
Posted 10 years agoIt's that time of year. Today is Chinese New Year and this year, it's the year of the Sheep.
If you're born on the year 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, and 2003, this is your year.
People born in the Year of Sheep are tender, polite, filial, clever, and kind-hearted. They have special sensitivity to art and beauty and a special fondness for quiet living. They are wise, gentle and compassionate and can cope with business cautiously and circumspectly. In their daily life, they try to be economical. They are willing to take good care of others, but they should avoid pessimism and hesitation.

Fall Updates
Posted 11 years agoYeah, sorry for not posting often here since I'm more active on dA than here. As usual, things have been pretty hectic with me trying to catch up with my commissions there as well as my personal projects. I do wonder what kind of stuff my watchers here would like to see from me. Maybe that can help motivate me to get more artworks here.
Speaking of personal projects, my Black Magic Merle sequence is nearly done with the sketches. Soon, I can start inking. Things have been going slow but steady for the most part.

Summer Updates
Posted 11 years agoSorry for the lack of new pics and journal updates. Sometimes life throws something at you, and you have to throw it back. Anyway, I've been busy with work as well as playing Mario Kart 8 in what little free time I had. Thankfully, my workload has slowed down enough for me to try to get some drawing done. For the most part, I've been more active on DA since it's where my commissions come from.
On that note, I've been thinking about opening commissions here on FA. Though I would like to know if I could get some here and what I might to expect to get commissioned on, given the nature of this site. Though I have to stress that I'm a clean artist and would rather keep it that way. Otherwise, I am fairly open to a lot of things, so don't be afraid to ask.
