I just realized that I haven't been on here in over a year!!! So sorry to all my friends out there! I've been uber busy since the move to Colorado and now I've started to work on my BSN for work. I am bursting with giddiness! I have officially passed my state boards and am now a registered nurse!!!!

I already have a job lined up at the hospital I work at as a phlebotomist/vampire ;) and should be starting as soon as I get things sorted with my new position! *bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy, bouncy*

I have officially finished nursing school!!!! I just have to keep up the studying for when I take boards this summer =) I don't have to take a remediation course since I had >850 on the HESI prep test!

We just got our xBox Kinect today... All I have to say is I LOVE it!!!!

This is definitely going to be my new form of working out. I'm sweating like crazy just from the demo of Dance Central. Hopefully, I'll be shedding some poundage over the next few months! :D

Those who know me personally know that I've been trying to lose some weight... Well, as of today, I have lost 16lbs! Bringing me down to 244lbs!!! I know that most people are shocked that I weigh this much, it's mostly because I'm about 5'9" and have a large frame. Hopefully, I'll get back down to about 180lbs (any thinner and I'd look anorexic!) in the next 1 or 1 1/2 years.

Secondly, I interviewed today for a part-time position out at the hospital where I am employed only prn (as needed). By the time I got home, I was told I have the job! I'll still be doing phlebotomy work, but also learning central processing and ordering supplies :)

Now I'll be able to put my hubby on health insurance (which he hasn't had since he was let go of his job last year after filing worker's comp for a knee injury).

Needless to say... I'm feelin' good!

Today my husband and I had to put our beautiful Grendel-Pup to sleep. He had developed a spinal lesion at the base of his spine that caused paralysis in his hind legs. His symptoms started on his 7th birthday and within 4 days we had to put him down.

Grendel was a hyperactive, loving, silly ham bone and spoiled brat to the core. We are so happy to have had him in our lives for the last seven years. I know that it hurts now, but the pain is worth all the joy and love he brought to our lives. No one was able to resist loving Grendel once they got to know him (usually within the first five minutes). He was such a great dog, a bit thick-headed at times, but a loving and faithful companion.

Goodbye, Grendel. We love you and will miss you always.

Just finished watching The End of Time Part 2... It was awesome, but still sad to see David Tennant leave the role of the Doctor. I wish Matt Smith the best of luck in assuming control of the TARDIS and look forward to the next series.

Well, it's that time of year again, to get disappointed at my idiotic family. Every year for the last 11 years, my husband and I go to his parents' house for Thanksgiving. And every year for the last 11 years, I have invited my parents (who live 45 minutes away from my in-laws' house). And every year, they don't come out (choosing instead to go to Furr's Cafeteria or Golden Corral).

I always get upset because I've been trying to get my families together since my husband and I got married. The first time my father met my father-in-law was last year for my graduation from the University of Oklahoma. My father usually comes up with a lame excuse (like having to change the oil in the car), my mom doesn't say anything, and I get pissed. I said to them that if they could make it, great! If not, I'm used to being disappointed and upset. Both of them actually laughed like it was a joke. I don't know why I let myself get worked up over this every year. At least I feel loved and welcomed by my husband's family, if not my own.

Sorry to bring you down if you read this, but I just felt the need to vent.

Hello, Everyone!!

I haven't really talked about the situation this year with the job market, but I have cause for celebration.

Back in April, my husband lost his job of 10.5yrs because the investors were cutting back positions that were making good money. Well, in October, Paul got a temporary position out at Tinker AFB, and his supervisor offered him a permanent position today!!! He will be permanent in January!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!

So I'm just happy and bouncy right now! We are going to be starting off the new year great!

Well, today my husband and I celebrate 10 years of marriage. I personally don't see how he can put up with my scatter-brained neuroses, but that's just a testament to his patience and love (even though he will deny being any form of cute or cuddly).

It's been a wonderful 10 years and I hope that we have many, many more to come!
