I've wanted to walk in this parade for the past few years but there was always something that prevented me from going. Excited to walk in it for the first time tomorrow!

Who else will I see?

I think somebody got into my neopets account. My userlookup is all jacked up and it says I was last logged in two days ago... which I wasn't. Luckily all my pets still seem to be fine and still holding their petpets, which is all I really care about. I'm locked out from attempting to log in because I tried logging in too many times, but it seems my email wasn't changed since I was able to request a password reset. Can't log in with the new password until my lockout timer is up, though. Guess I'll get to discover the state of things in about an hour.

Ugh. Rude.

Looks like the only thing changed was my userlookup... it doesn't appear as if anyone was in my account at all otherwise, though it did say that I was active two days ago, which was not true. A lot of my userlookup code had been deleted or changed. A small paragraph of "about me" text remained, as well as everything within the style tags (though the tags themselves had become paragraph tags for some reason?), but all the other customization on the page had been removed. All the images and fancy text and links were gone.

I was able to fix a lot of it by changing the <p> tags back into <style> tags, which is good because the initial work that went into customizing the link header was a ROYAL PAIN. Now I just have to redo the body table and put the images back... but I won't be doing that at 3am.

I wonder what happened?

I'll be at Sakuracon all weekend! I was wandering around (skull-king around?) as Sans all day today, and if the caucus ends in time, Sans will be back out for the Undertale photoshoot tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon. After that I'll be shambling about as Withered Bonnie (again hopefully in time to make the photoshoot). Sunday I'll bring out Banjo-Kazooie, since they've been a crowd favorite for the past two years.

I didn't get my sergal finished, but that's okay. Perhaps I'll save him for Furlandia. It's a suit for myself, made for whatever, so I don't have a deadline... I can slack off as much as I want. Which is excellent because I love slacking off. YEEAAHHHH

Someone on Reddit was trying to argue that a nonsexual fursuit and a nonsexual latex bodysuit are the same thing (material being the only difference) when I suggested the latex-clad fellow walking in this year's RF fursuit parade was inappropriate.

So. What's the difference between a fursuit and a latex bodysuit?
Put one on and go to a public place with a lot of children and you'll find out really fast.

Seattle is opening its first cat cafe soon! They had 250+ applications, of those they chose 20 for interviews, and only 5 or so were able to make the final cut.

The Seattle Meowtropolitan should be opening in a few weeks, but very little is publicly known about it still. It's all hush-hush, but look forward to learning more and coming to visit in November!

So I lost my job last month, and four days later, lost my dad... who, when I was flailing in the water, always was there to help me find shore again. It's been a tough month, and there's more hardship ahead if I don't find a job soon.
In the meantime, I'm thinking of auctioning off a slot for a custom fursuit head that I will make over the course of November (I have an October project I need to finish and won't be able to start anything new until after Halloween), with payment due in time for me to make rent so I can still have a place to make stuff in... and y'know. Sleep and stuff?

So... if I started the auction at $200 for a completely custom fursuit head, does that seem reasonable?

I'll be wandering around as Banjo-Kazooie today, so if we cross paths, give me a shout! :D

My dad passed away today, suddenly, of a heart attack. I flew out to see my family on Friday. He picked me up from the airport. He was fine. All smiles. He went to work. I was looking forward to a fun weekend of catching up, going to the renaissance festival, then heading home to catch the Pokemon Symphony. Everything was great, then suddenly he was gone. No warning. No time to react. He was 60.

I'm hoping to be back in Seattle this weekend after the funeral has taken place and we've all had a couple days to take everything in as best we can. It feels like a bad dream. I want to wake up. I know I won't.

Rainfurrest is next weekend. I still want to go. Fursuiting makes me so happy and it will help me a lot. I don't have a room... but if I can, I'd like to stay at the hotel at least Saturday night. If you, person reading this, or someone you know has floor space (or even just a room I can store my suit in overnight and use to change), please let me know. Otherwise I'll be hauling my suit back and forth on the train each day from downtown, which is doable... but not how I'd like to spend the con.

I've been living alongside an adorable ball of fluff for a couple years, but as the days turn into weeks and the weeks into months and the months into years... I realize that perhaps my home isn't the best home for him. In the beginning it was okay. Even though the space was small, it was pretty empty and he had room to bounce about as bunnies are wont to do. But as my hobbies consume my living space, they also consume his. The result is that the space where he was once able to run and play has become the space where I build fursuits. Or do doll photoshoots. Or lay out large art projects. Or generally have things that bunnies absolutely should not be chewing on or playing with.

Since I can't afford a bigger space and I certainly am not going to just stop making art, I've decided the best course of action is to find a forever home for a bunny who deserves much more than what I can provide for him. If you or someone you know lives around the Seattle area and can possibly provide a forever home for an adorable ball of fluff, let me know via PM here or on Twitter @ arttimoverne. Mini lop/dwarf mix (don't let the illusion of small fool you; he's big), male, not neutered, about 3 years old.

No charge for him... I wasn't charged when I got him from the breeder. His daddy escaped and found all the pretty lady rabbits and suddenly baby bunnies for days all up in there, so he and his many brothers and sisters were given away free to new homes. He comes with his cage, food dish, water bottle, carrier, and any food/bedding/hay I happen to have. I don't have a car, so you'd have to come get him (I live in downtown Seattle, right off I-5). He's never bitten me, but his claws could use a trimming. He loves to be petted, but isn't fond of being held (typical of bunnies). I named him Groose, but you're welcome to change it since he doesn't respond to it anyway.

I want him to live a long and happy life. I want him to do the things that buns do and be the reason that his new human's social media of choice has way too many pet photos on it. I want him to run and hop and be happy and loved... I want him to have the life he deserves.

Can you help him find his forever home?

I need to wash my suit for the next event. Too much Febreeze, not enough actual washing! Dry-washing methods can only go so far, and parts of my suit are now over two years old on spot-clean and brushing alone. It's tough since I have a standing-only shower and pretty much no room to get a bucket and wash it that way without going to the community laundry room where there's space. And no way would it survive the actual washer... those seams are all hand-sewn!

Thinking of just... putting it on. And taking a shower. With laundry detergent. Should work in theory, right? Yeah? That's not weird, is it? No? Maybe?

I should find someone local who cleans fursuits for folks. Arttimo needs a spa day.

Sakura-con is going to be in the Chinatown Seafair parade this coming Sunday the 19th from 7-9pm and they need cosplayers and costumed folks. I wanted to walk as Banjo-Kazooie last year but didn't have anyone to go with... I didn't want to go by myself so I didn't go. This year I want to go! It would be cool to have some other fuzzy folks to walk with.

I suited last year at this event as Banjo-Kazooie, and I entered the costume contest and was horribly disappointed at losing to a toddler in a store-bought Elsa costume... but I guess I was expecting an actual COSTUME contest? I don't know. ANYWAY. I won't be entering the contest this time around (seriously they're not judging costumes up there), but suiting last year was still really fun so I'm going to do it again.

Going to Anthrocon? I'm fairly small and fit in most large suitcases. You can tell TSA you're a med student if they ask about the skeleton showing up on the X-ray. Also I need money. A bunch of it. So. Take me with you. Let me sleep on your floor. You'll never know I'm there, promise. Also I need to be paid for the time I miss at work. And I need someone to work my shift so my boss doesn't notice I'm gone. And. I need you to pay for the extra checked bag with my fursuit in it because I'm super broke right now but hell if I'm not going to be suiting on my all-expenses-paid trip in your suitcase to the other side of the country. That's just silly!

I have acquired a massive roll of foam to begin working on Bonnie. I have tiny red LEDs for eyes and plans for a robot voice changer box built into the head. It's going to be GROSS. It's going to be AWESOME. It's going to debut at PAX Prime, sporting a swatch of "bloody" red and white striped fabric and a bit of pink mustache hanging from dangerous metallic teeth.

Because Wilford Warfstache doesn't take shit from NOBODY.

So... some of my very favorite fursuits are in this style with the big shiny eyes and little button noses and OHMYGAH so cute can't even handle it. One thing I don't understand though... in my fursuit heads, the eyes are a pretty big ventilation source. There's mesh there and I get a nice breeze when there is one. These suits though... there's some sort of plastic over the eyes, it looks like. How in the world does the inside not fog up? And with such tiny mouths, how is there any ventilation at all? What is the secret? I must know. For. Reasons.

If things could stop being on Saturdays, that would be lovely. Every event coming up on the calendar is on a Saturday. Why Saturday? Why? I'm going to be either begging for more time off or missing a bunch of things... where are all my Seattle Sunday furries at? Let's get some Sunday meets going.

While small, my first furry convention was a lot of fun! I'm tired and sore from my first full-suiting of Arttimo the jackalope, who held up pretty well. I suited almost the entire time I was out in the convention space and got to walk in the fursuit parade and participate in the fursuit olympics. I didn't see any panels unfortunately, but I feel like lately that's been the case with a lot of cons I've been to recently. Too busy doing other stuff!

I saw a lot of old friends and got to meet a whole bunch of new ones! I got to host a pizza party and hang out in a hot tub and be reminded that I don't really know how to swim for real in a pool. I had a great time and I can't wait for the next one! :D
