MOVING ACCOUNTS
Posted 14 years agoNot a big fan of this screename anymore, since the last name isn't really my last name anymore. |D
Anyway, I've been meaning to move for a while now, and am deciding to adopt my Babyfur.ME screenname.
WATCH THIS:
CircusPeanut
Note: I've taken all of the art of my new fursona down on this profile and moved it to my new one.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE: These remaining pictures are not orphaned. I left them up so that people who wish to see them still can, but I had no desire to transfer them. If you want to use them, you must contact ME AND THE ARTIST for permission. I must approve it and the artist must approve it. The artist's name is always listed in the artist's comments, and you can find my new name in this journal or the featured submission.

Idle Curiosity - Who Still Reads My Journals?

The Chrome OmniBox - Just A Bored Rant
Posted 14 years agoFirst of all, it is an ADDRESS BAR.
Second, IT DOES NOT DOUBLE AS A SEARCH BAR.
This drives me crazy when I'm comparing browsers and I list Chrome's lack of a search bar as a negative, and someone counters by saying "wut about teh omiebox?1". With the Omnibox, you have to remember the website prefix and then hit tab to launch into a search for that specific website's search engine. It's a hassle, and certainly not an improvement in the tech industry. Firefox, Safari, Konqueror, and Opera allow you to use a search bar that neatly drops down your search engine and allows you to select the appropriate one. It's easy, organized, and useful. Chrome's remembering a prefix is a pain in the ass and, frankly, not having a search bar does not help the layout of the browser, but instead makes the ADDRESS BAR unnecessarily large.
Also, please don't tell me you can launch a search from the address bar without the use of a prefix. That only allows you to search the DEFAULT search engine, and nothing more. The same can be accomplished through Firefox.
Chrome, your use of Webkit is lovely, your Javascript rendering engine is fantastic, and your browser overall is lightweight and sturdy. But you need a search bar, because without it your browser has a very large hole it its functionality. Honestly, the lack of a search bar is the only reason why I don't switch to Chrome as my default browser.
Also, I am aware that there is an add-on for Chrome that adds a drop down search bar, but it is buggy and requires extra steps for its use. I would prefer native functionality that is guaranteed to work at all times.
Anyway, yeah, just a little 3am rant to keep the two or so people who actually read my journal on their toes. :B

Journal Poll - Top 5 Favorite Artists?
Posted 14 years agoIt's 5am and I'm bored, so I figured I'd make a comment provoking journal. Let's see if it works!
What are you top five favorite artists? That could mean furry artists, animators, painters, etc. You can even mix it up to just be all artists in general. o3o
Anyway, I'm gonna stick with my top five furry artists. |D
Mine are (in no particular order):
-
blotch (Does it count even if it's a two-person collab?)
-
eclipsewolf (Sexeh |D)
-
firedarkdragon (Something really refreshing about honest artwork in our fuzzy illusion o3o)
-
marymouse (Something really nice about extra fuzziness in our fuzzy world XD)
-
astolpho (Watercolor + Diapers = Yesssss)
What about you people? >:U

Posted 14 years agoUPDATE: The picture went back up on his profile. If you want to help report and or troll him, his page is here: http://babyfur.me/profile/Zicky
I have a commonly stolen picture. XD Not that I should be as proud as Yanoodle (who disappeared before she/he could see this joyous occasion), but still, I find it funny. :3
Anyway, I had to pull a Veemonsito and watermark it. This is at least the fifth time I've had to get it removed from somewhere, and each time I've had drama ensue from it. Last time I actually crashed babyfurs united from it, so, yay!
In case you didn't know, it's this picture:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2640303/
Anyway, sorry for the watermark, just sick of dealing with drama. I think art is meant to be shared, but I also think that ownership is ownership, and if you're not going to take the time to contact the owner for permission, then you don't deserve the right to use it. :/

Ask Me a Question
Posted 14 years agoI'm bored :U Ask me something.
Really Firefox? You suck. 8|
Posted 14 years agoWell, the fantastic developers at Mozilla have outdone themselves.
The spiffy new CSS3 tag, @font-face, lets you link to font documents and use them on your webpage. However, if Firefox THINKS you're loading off of someone else's domain, it will block you from loading it. THIS IS NOT THEIR JOB TO BEGIN WITH. If you don't want people hotlinking off of your website, code it yourself. The browser should not be blocking your web experience because it thinks you're stealing.
That being said, it wouldn't be that big of a problem, but it also doesn't allow linking from other subdomains. So, say you have your file on cakemakers.cakes.com, and you want to link off of cakes.com come. NOPE, CAN'T DO IT. 8| Works in every other browser except for Firefox.
That ALSO being said, you can have the server tell Firefox that it's okay to hotlink. HOWEVER, you need permissions for this. Fuckin' Godaddy Windows shared hosting does NOT give you these permissions. 8|
So I'm trying to link my CSS, which is in the SAME goddamn directory as the .ttf file, but it'll only load the font if you don't have the "www." prefix, BECAUSE CLEARLY IT'S A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DOMAIN WITHOUT THE FUCKING WORLD WIDE WEB PREFIX. 8||||||||||||||||||
Way to go Mozilla, your ability to render webpages matches that of Internet Explorer 6.
GREAT GOING.

What's the point of the fandom?
Posted 14 years agoI dunno, I just haven't really been feeling that furry-ish lately. So far I've found that interest in the fandom generally sources from the following things:
1. Making friends.
2. Acting cute.
3, Sex.
I mean, I'm probably missing something, but from my end, that's really all the fandom chalks up to for me at the moment.

Sleep Schedules
Posted 14 years agoAre annoying.
I've been sleeping at 12pm and waking up at 7pm, so I've been awake all night all alone. It's fun, really, it is. </sarcasm>

Minecraft
Posted 14 years agoTo be blunt, it's not a good game. For the $20 I paid for it? I'm content. I wish the developer, Notch, would do something more with it. He's a millionaire from it, but he's just letting it sit there. He should open-source it, since it's far too limited for Administrative powers.
Either way, single player was fun, but multiplayer was too vulnerable to anyone who decided to grief to be enjoyable. You were always worried someone was going to take something, and there's really no way to stop people since everything was breakable and the nameplates made people's stashes easy to trace if someone was down there.
Is it a good game? No. Is it coded well? No. Is the developer paying any attention to it? No. Would I recommend buying it? Only if you want it for singleplayer.
But yeah, I leave with half-and-half feelings about it. I got what I paid for, and that's that. ^^

LittleBigPlanet 2
Posted 14 years agoNow that I have all of the levels aced and all of the items collected, I can give it a complete and proper review.
Versus LBP 1:
Pros
-New, expansive options with and/or/xor logic switches.
-Mover and rotater objects are really useful.
-New power-ups.
-Levels are more inventive.
-Loading times vastly improved.
-Music is epic.
-Story is more cohesive.
Cons
-Crappier lighting engine.
-New UI kind of sucks.
-The Sackbot AI is comparable to the marine AI in Halo.
-Broke a couple of the physics from the forward compatible LBP1 levels.
-The electricity and fire textures look terrible.
Which one do I like better?
I like both of them for their own reasons. I like LBP for its simplicity and how it requires you to be more imaginitive with the objects to make them work properly, versus LBP 2's ability to pull more people into the game easily with more expansive options, and new objects/options make it so the custom levels are WAY more customizable, so you can ultimately make your own game.
So, yeah.
I'm guessing most people won't read this, but still. x3

Regarding the Sissy Pictures
Posted 14 years agoOkay, seriously, it's a piece of artwork. Stop IMing and teasing, it's extremely annoying. Just because we're in a picture with sissy work doesn't mean automatically it becomes open game for obnoxious RPing. FA comments are cute, but if one more person IMs any of us and starts teasing in ANY way, I will fucking take them down. It's rude to just launch into teasing, because just because most of the babyfur fandom doesn't realize they they're still human, doesn't mean that everyone is that way, and you shouldn't regard pictures as a means to just blow off treating someone like a human being. I want to have a more in-depth conversation than just "HURR DURR DRESSIEZ". =/
If you want to bridge into RP with my from FIRST TREATING ME LIKE A HUMAN ADULT, fine, but don't just IM any of us with "lawl diaperpats through yer skirtz hurr". Block buttons are quite useful.
Thanks. :/
