Little Life Updates
Posted 3 years agoHello!
My pattern of falling off the earth continues...
Work got extremely busy in December so I've been focused on that more than anything. It's only now settling down, just in time for me to gear up for my big anticipated surgery. Gastric bypass! Woo.
It's kinda frustrating because a snag with a doctor being unsure of insurance (and not calling them herself...) delayed everything. But I'm on track now, and hoping the surgery will be in April. I'd already hoped to have it done this month, but life doesn't give you peace, does it.
I have to put most plans on hold since the recovery time from the surgery is about 2 months. Month 3 is supposed to be the comfy time. It's really all I can think about, and it's giving me so much anxiety.
Pet pictures appreciated... if possible!

Updates: Long-Lasting Commission Done!
Posted 4 years agoI have RETURNED with a finished commission!
I made a VRChat avatar and world for a client and it ended up taking me many months. The character was very detailed. I uploaded some views of him, along with a single collection of images for the world.

::wipes brow with a tissue:: Ohman... it was so much work. I don't think I'll ever do such a detailed commission again. But I sure learned a whole lot about Blender and 3D modeling, rigging, and texturing. I'm hoping to use Blender for commissions in the future!
Speaking of commissions... !
I am open for them! I am also going to run a commission special soon. This is because I am prepping to have some expensive medical procedures done, and I need to start saving and paying off as much debt as I can.
I am going to get bariatric surgery in February. This year of COVID revealed some underlying health problems I've been struggling against that I didn't even realize. I've always struggled with my weight, so I spent a lot of time working out prior to COVID. Because of that, the disease was kept at bay. But when the gyms closed, I took some time off, and boy... it got bad fast. My legs suddenly felt super heavy--I mean, they were always heavy. But this was a DIFFERENT kind of heavy. Like, 20lb weights on my legs. Walking was suddenly 10x more difficult.
I went to a vein doctor to have my legs checked... and the news wasn't good. They said that I have lymphedema, lipedema, and chronic venous insufficiency (CVI).
CVI happens when blood struggles to reach your legs due to a large number of factors--for me, those factors are lipedema, obesity, and lymphedema. Working out was only hiding this issue.
Lymphedema happens when your lymph nodes struggle to process the lymph fluid in your body, which leaves large pockets of protein-rich fluid just sitting and swelling up your body. Lymphedema affects cancer patients, and is a side-effect of a disease called lipedema. Lipedema is a fibrotic fat disease that isn't well studied, but affects 11% of women. They believe it is related to hormonal imbalances. In lipedema, the hormonal changes in the body (such as during puberty, pregnancy, or menopause) cause fat to become fibrotic, which makes it impossible to remove except through surgery. Lipedema fat cells form pebble-like nodules under the skin, which swell up with fluid and are painful to touch. I've gotten so sore that even having a cat stand on my lap is excruciating.
These swollen fat cells end up strangling the lymph nodes in the body, causing lymphedema, which can lead to an even worse condition called lipo-lymphedema.
So my doctors have suggested that I get either a gastric sleeve or gastric bypass to shed as much metabolic weight as I can. Once I lose the metabolic weight (meaning, fat that can be processed by the body, not fibrotic fat), the fat left behind will be mostly the diseased, fibrotic lipedema fat. Once I recover from the gastric surgery, I will need to get a special kind of lipsuction to remove it.
Unfortunately, liposuction is not covered under most insurance. So... I need to start paying off whatever debt I have now so that I can make room for some hefty loans in the future.
Thus... commission special! :D
More to come... but for now... I hope you enjoy the VRChat work I submitted!

Adult Art Commissions?!
Posted 4 years agoHello!
Just wanted to post a journal to let anyone watching me know that I've decided to start doing some adult artwork! I did it once upon a time, but my living situation was rocky and the anxiety of it all made me retreat from it. But I feel more comfortable these days, in more ways than one, and so... I introduce you to my adult-only account!
PaxResurrected!
If you're at all interested, please check my journal over there! :3 I hope you'll find something... pleasing >;D

2021 Plans
Posted 5 years agoHappy New Year!
I'm glad 2020 is truly gone... ugh it was an awful year. But now everyone is getting used to being social distanced and I have to say, I don't miss the overwhelm of a busy day at the grocery store. Being able to order online and pick up with my car is much less stressful.
My plan for this year is to try and decimate the debt I've accumulated! When I bought my house, I ended up putting a lot of stuff on credit cards so that I could balance out my stuff financially. And now I'm reaping the repercussions of that. Also, still have student loans to pay off.
So I will be open for commissions for the foreseeable future! I also have a day job though, so I'm not advertising as aggressively as I usually would. I don't want to die of overwork, but I also would like to fit in some time for animation, as this is what I would like to do more frequently. I'm just not as good at it yet.
Some goals:
- Pay off as much debt as possible
- Do so without working more than 60 hours per week
- Save some time for animation projects
- Continue writing short stories to sell to magazines
- Continue pondering low cost methods of selling my pre-created artwork
If you like my work, I do have a digital sketch collection available! It includes some work you have probably seen here, but also work I've never posted online. You can check it out on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/880723....._home_active_1
I'm going to try hard to keep up with these... some more than others. I will do my best! ::fist pump::

I Am... Alive
Posted 5 years agoBoy has it been a crazy ride these last few years.
I've been meaning to pick up my old internet haunts for a while. I took a year off everything this year and this disease floating among us seems to have been portended, heh.
The last time I posted here, I had just lost my job of 3 years. I'd also just moved to a new apartment to be closer to it. I'd come off a horrible roommate situation that left me drawing on my tablet in my car at a truck stop eating hush puppies, just so I wouldn't have to go home.
Now, I have a stable contract job and I bought a house. Life is certainly something!
I've been in my house for a year now, and I finally think I've settled in. I took this year as a recharge year and did a lot of reading and only poking at my artwork.
I'd like to start doing commissions again... I recently had one from a wonderful person who emailed me, and realized that I missed digital painting. And now I know 3D artwork as well, so I'm hoping to add that to my collection!
I'm really trying to focus on my personal animation projects as well. I'm hoping 2021 will be a productive art year. I'm slowly putting things together for it.
How is everyone doing? I'd love to hear from you :3
