..one tiny thing on FA gets changed and people act like it's the end of the fucking world. I'm sure if they changed the background color to a different shade of green, there would be loads of complaints about that as well.
Personally, I am in favor of the new icons! They compliment my 1920x1080 monitor nicely, and I'm sure that the people that are pissing and moaning about it are still living in 1999 with their 800x600. If the new UI is ever rolled out, I'll definitely be laughing at all the boohoo journals about that, too.

Holy jeez, I'm 22 years old now? How the time flies! It seems like yesterday that I was graduating from high school, know here I am, knee-deep in adulthood. I'm probably going to look back at these days when I'm 30 and say the same thing. xD

I’m not usually one to post long journals like this, but hey, I just feel like doing a little bit of semi-creative writing. More than once, I've been asked why I've commissioned so many different artists, so I thought I’d elaborate and post a little journal here to answer this little question. I do understand the reasoning behind this question since I do have quite a sizeable amount of commissioned art. There are actually a few answers that I can give here:

The first one is quite obvious; I really do enjoy seeing my fursona drawn and interpreted in different techniques and ‘styles.’ I like giving artists freedom when I commission them and I rarely ask for a specific scenario. I usually just give them a few reference images and a little personality paragraph and set them free to draw what they like. I’ve noticed that many artists enjoy this freedom, possibly because it lets them draw what they want to without concern of following a scenario or specific pose. It also makes for a little surprise when I get to see what they’ve decided on. It’s always a pleasure to see my own creation (my fursona) become another creation (the commission).

The second reason is not quite as obvious, but is the main reason that I commission artists. To me, choosing to commission an artist is like saying “Hey! I like your work so much that I want to pay you to draw me something.” It’s my way of supporting the amazing work that these talented artists create. It’s a good thought to think that my money helps pay for their bills, rent, art supplies, food, or whatever! This is a big reason why I commission artists in difficult financial situations. In all honesty, I don’t have a large income, but I am willing pay toward people and things that I want to support, and with these commissions, I’d like to think that I’m helping to keep their passion for art alive as a commissioner with patience, cooperation, and a little payment for their hard work. I see it as them getting paid for doing something that they love.

I do hope that this at least makes a little bit of sense—heck, maybe others have the same reasoning for being active commissioners. The people and the art are the bare roots of the furry fandom. Without either of these, we wouldn’t be surfing on a website like this. Thanks for reading my little journal here. Comments, as always, are appreciated. :3

If you're not already aware, I'm putting together a little archive of my music from 2004 to present and am planning to hand them out at Further Confusion next year. It will be a nearly complete collection (some of my REALLY crappy stuff from 2004 will be left out) of the music I've made over the past 7 years, along with a few other goodies on it (a little tour of my workspace, FL project files, etc). I assure you, everything I've made from 2005 and on will be included, as well as collaborations, unfinished/unreleased works, etcetera. Almost all of the newer music (2008+) is rendered in 320 kbps mp3.

If you have any other feature requests for this little release, or have anything you'd want to see on it, please feel free to let me know! :D

To be completely honest, I'm quite surprised that I've achieved this little milestone here on FA. When I first joined FA back in 2007, I was surprised from the comments on my music I got just from having them there. I guess the miracle of Fur Affinity is that every submission you post will be viewed and appreciated by somebody out there in the world. It makes me feel great that there are awesome people out there that are willing to listen to my works and give uplifting and encouraging feedback--it means the world to me, and I thank everybody who has done so in the past or those just simply listen and enjoy.

Yeppers! Sometime this week, I'll be meeting up with my brother (who is an avid guitarist) and begin recording some epic riffs for my current working track. I've been wanting to collaborate with my brother for a looooong time now and combine our musical tastes, so this will be the perfect opportunity for it. The most I'm going to divulge about it is that it'll be psytrance! :D

Well... I just paid for my fursuit. It's going to be a partial made by The Furducers and according to them, should be ready by November. And so begins the process of patiently waiting for its completion.

Well I'm a little over 1/4 of the way toward my savings goal. I also set up a savings account to keep myself from spending it on unnecessary stuff. Hooray! o.O

That's right--tomorrow, I turn 21 years old. I'm not too sure about what I'm going to do to celebrate; maybe head out with my brother to a local bar and have a couple brews and a good time. I'm pretty excited, though I do not plan on getting plastered, hammered, wasted, or any other drunken slang word. I plan on remembering my birthday after all! =3

So yeah.. 21.. woohoo! XD

For a while now, I've been contemplating on whether or not to start investing in.. a fursuit. After my trip to FC, it's really opened up my eyes to how fun and creative one can be while in-suit. To me, It's a gateway that allows the wearer to just let loose and have a good time, usually to the entertainment of onlookers--furry or not. It's quite an expense and I'm well aware that a decent suit can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars, but I think it's worth it. A lot of time and effort gets put into their creation. So, I've made up my mind. I've already started squaring away a little bit of each paycheck into what I'm calling my 'fursuit fund' and I will probably put all of my tax-return money into that fund also.
I'm not sure who I will commission for a suit yet--I'll take that step once I have a reasonable amount ready to spend.

So yeah. I just might be a future fursuiter.. >.>
