I don't understand people. If someone draws my fursona, I'll feel a mixture of immense gratitude that they did, and guilt that I can't fully make it up to them, but still try to. Art takes time and effort and it's hard.

But apparently other people don't give a shit. I drew 17 pieces of free art for people this month. Several were for secret santas- the people who got my name flaked out and didn't bother doing anything for me. Some were prizes in raffles in my server, many were gift art for artists I like to think I'm close to.

All I got for the holidays were some stuff from my mother, which were gag gifts and clothes that didn't fit. That's it.

I don't expect people to give me anything in exchange for raffle prizes or gift art, except maybe a message showing if they liked it or not. Half of the time, regardless of if I tagged/DM'd them, I would get left on read. Is it really so difficult to at least say thanks for art that you requested and got completely free?

Who knows. I woke up depressed with a fever and didn't wake up enough to look at my phone until five pm. This is just why I hate the holidays. I don't mean shit to people. I sign up for trades and secret santas and end up being the only person who gets left out. I draw for everyone I know thinking maybe we're friends and maybe one person will be around that year who makes me feel even a little less nonexistent and it never is.

All I know is that I can't deal with the crushing disappointment that comes with trying to offer free art to people anymore. If others really don't care one way or another enough to acknowledge it, then I'm not spending hours out of my day making it.

As for raffles and free adopts, on both occasions I've seen my art get sold by the people who get it, and as I have no way of controlling this, I've given up on it.

My commissions are open, as always, but I'm no longer raffling off art/drawing requests.

Hey guys, I'm trying to actually do Inktober this year, using only people's sonas from my server. Adds to the challenge, yknow? Everything I've drawn so far has been with traditional calligraphy tools, though I'm thinking of including markers for some splashes of color.

You aren't guaranteed to be drawn but if your sona is interesting(or simple enough), I might draw them! I don't think there's even 31 refs in their channel already so, well. Need inspiration! I won't be taking refs from other sites, as I'm really only checking discord frequently, but if you're interested, feel free to drop your sona there! We're all very friendly.

It's free art, but please don't just join, post a ref, and leave- many people draw the sonas in the server without knowing the person left, then they end up having spent hours on drawings that will never be appreciated.

In an hour I will be. Losing phone service indefinitely, and as I do not have wifi, I will not be around much. Once I get enough money I'll be able to have everything mostly in order again. Tracing sucks

Doing commissions of traced art. Really, really, fucking sucks

I'm writing this because someone traced my art and posted it in my own server, claiming he's doing commissions like that, and the cherry on top is that the art he traced was when I gave out free art. I can hardly afford to to do that but I do, constantly, and seeing someone try to sell it and pass it off as their own art instead of tracing just makes me sick.

So yeah! Don't do that :)

Also, because I'm in such a bad place financially, I'll be doing a sale on address. Everything will be $5 until, I don't know when. I can't afford the medications I need anymore, which have been a priority over all other aspects of my life.

My ipad charger is missing so I can't draw there, and my phone abruptly stopped working so I can't even do anything on FA unless I take my laptop somewhere with wifi, which isn't realistic. I will do the prizes when I get the chance but right now I'm panicking.
