There are no real status updates or anything of value. Nothing but reminicient rambling from here on out so you may skip this one.
A long time ago I was a mall rat. No not one of those prepy kids who who hang out around the stores. I was more of an arcade rat I guess you could say. Since I was about 13 I would go to the acrade and hang out with all the older guys that hung out at the arcade. For years that was my regular haunt for when I had nothing better to do. After a time I eventually became the manager of said arcade. Day after day it was DDR, Dance Maniacs, Pop'n Music, and numerous fight games. The funny part was the people I knew outside the arcade and those I knew in it did not mingle at all and most people were amazed to discover after years of knowing me that I had OTHER hobbies as it were. I was like batman...except not as cool.
I was an oddball for one of the "arcade regulars". I was one of the youngest members of the arcade family for the longest, also I was always a tad on the goth side, and strangely enough white guys were outnumbered by the number of other races. Being around them had its inlfuence because to this day I still say things like "you are too white", "stop doing the white boy shuffle". "unleash your inner asian!". I was also a bit more aggressive then the other more nerdy members back then. I still fondly remember the looks on a group of prepy kids faces when they tried to mess with me while I was playing DDR like they had done to so many before me. After kicking me a few times thinking like the others I would just yell and keep playing. I turned around jumped over the bar and roared at them "You got a f#*@ing problem! Kick me one more f#*@ing time and I'll kick the S*#t out of you!" Haha there was like three of them and their eyes went wide like donuts and then backed away with thier hands raised in submissive fashion.
I miss all the differant people and the humor...it was more the vibe then the actual games. I miss the antics, I miss the guys who would spout memes all days when the memes were still new, I miss scaring the white kids by playing dominos with the mexicans and the black folk right there in the store. I miss sitting around making lines around the fight machines taking turns and having everyone comment or chant as the fights went on, I miss playing Risk and yelling rather loudly as I marched my forces across the world, I miss everyone talking about the anime con in Dallas and ploting out what to do at the next one all year long, I miss the ricers blathering on about their new mods, I miss the music and the noise, I miss watching the 13 year old asian kids stomp random scrubs at every game in the store, I miss going down to Hot Topic to talk to Wolf and listen to the industrial and EBM that he would insist be played overhead.
The entire company one day closed up all their stores and there has not been another arcade since. I miss my $8 an hour to do nothing. (there was work invovled but I got it done in like the first few hours of the day)
How I long to get in on some fight game and pass the stick (or for those of you who don't understand, loser hands the controller over to the next guy) for hours on end switching from game to game. Some old school Soulcal, some Tekken, some Guilty Gear, some Marvel VS Capcom, some Capcom VS SNK...*sigh*
All the people I hang out with these days are either not a gamer or just not a gamer of that breed, or just suck too much for me to get any fun out of it. And nobody plays DDR anymore.

The Paleontological Resources Preservation Act (Senate version S30 an House version HR554) is a bill that rock and fossile collectors should be paying attention to this.
In short, the act means that collecting *any* fossil of a living organism will be considered a crime on public federal land. This includes sharkteeth, spiral sea shells, etc. The act provides grandfather protection over fossils collected prior to the act, though it requires "proper labling," to prove the dates the fossiles were collected. Also, buying, selling, trading, etc, of such fossiles is also considered illegal. The bill is very ambiguous.
Or to summarize, the hobby of collecting animal fossils will be banned.
I thought the bill sounded too stupid to be passed but it has been extended for "further consideration"...so maybe it will be passed. I am not too worries but...

3000 Screams Later!

So I know I have not been on much lately but here is why.
I had been busy working at that haunted house for a few weeks. I can not describe how much fun it was to work there. I can honestly say I have made over 3000 people scream, over 20 people leave out the fire exits because they could not take it anymore, made about 15-20 fall into the fetal position and start crying, and other fun times.
It felt so GOOD to do that. I am not a mean person, infact I am most likely one of the nicest people you will ever meet when you get to know me...but I had so much fun filling the role and entertaining people and striking fear into the hearts of so many people. The screams were like music to my ears. The feel of the chase, the looks on their faces....mwahaha.
Me and my partner could tell exactly where everyone was and how many people were in each group as they made there way through the house. We would listen and figure out what the group would be like. And during times when there were no people coming within a minute or two we would goof around and start dancing or spining eachother around the room. We of course did Thriller several times. And of course me and him worked together so, we would work as a pair and would heard and break up groups exactly how we wanted them.
I have a new nickname due to my leaping like 4 feet over my chair everytime a group would come in and how I would rebound off the walls with a loud kick as I would chase them down the hallway. They call me, Mr anti-gravity.
And after that I got sick for a few weeks and its just now going away. So that has had some to do with why I have not been active.
Also I got Left 4 Dead on Steam...it is amazing and eating up all my time.
But no worries. Some nifty stuff is on the way because I put in a HUGE materials order finally. A few really nice silver pieces as well as some other more unusual projects.
[/u] Remember the holidays are right around the corner. Buy them something unique and get them some chainmail jewelry! Also I may be cranking out a few X-mas ornements.[u]

To those who care to know what has been going on with me. I had been in a relationship for several months now but her and I have split up. No worries no fighting or drama or anything like that. Just was not working out is all so I had to end it.
In other news. It is October again and I have fallen into my normal pattern of listening to spooky music (when do I not?) eating lots of pumpkin stuff and singing Type O Negative songs into the night. I am not going to any parties or anything this year. But you will all still get a kick out of my costume I slaped together just for fun I am sure.

Stupid fire and floods! This is why we can't have nice thin
General | Posted 17 years agoSooo yeah my town had some flash flooding from a big storm. No big deal since it just made my yard all mooshy and stuff for a while. However several other peoples homes were flooded which I have to be thankfull it DID flood one of my neighbors homes. I know it sounds awefull of me to say that but since his home was flooded he decided to drive around the area and check out the damage everywhere else. I get a knock at my door at about 4 AM and when I anwer the door the first thing that goes through my head is "tsk someone needs the phone or somethi...WTF is that orange light outside...some kind of emergency vehicle?" And when I open the door this dude says to me "Your tree is on fire!" (I dont have any trees lol) I look outside and lo and behold my next door neighbors tree is on fire and the power lines are screwy. The guy says to me "You may need to evacuate! I have already call 911.". Well I knew better then that so instead I ran in and started unpluging all of the electronics like the computers and tvs and of course video game systems. I had just finished unpluging a computer when BOOOM! the transformoer exploded and there was a black out....All was fine for the most part since the fire put itself out in less then 5 minutes. However I forgot to unplug my stereo...it is dead now. That thing was my birthday present when I was 13 and it has served me well for many years. Now I have like 400 cds and nothing to listen to them with... But to the point, had that guy not alerted me to the fire I would not have unplugged everything else and would have lost much more.
I loved that stereo, I think it was possesed since it would turn on at random times all on its own while I was depressed and play just the right song to mame me feel better and other random creepy yet wonderfull things. Oh and for some reason it would play discs that were so damaged that no other cd player could read it. That was handy.
RIP stereo, I will miss you.

General | Posted 17 years agoI am back from the dead, riding apon the back of FA as it rose from the ashes breaking free of the Gates Of Furry Hell!
I have my computer replaced, high speed internet working. My funds naturally took a massive hit lately and I have not had too many commissions (several sales though) Also another reason I have not been making much is I got roped into playing EVE and I had been playing that for like a month. But do not fret I quit already and there will be no more MMO's for me ever.
I have several projects about to get ordered here soon and I have been studying new techniques for jewelry so you may be seeing some really nifty new tricks and *gasp* non-chainmail projects depending on if I can get the funds for materials and tools I need. I have a few random pictures to post as well as the final two pics of the cube (yeah no more...ever)

What Has Been Going On With Me And When I Will Be Back
General | Posted 17 years agoI must again say that I am sorry that I have not been around much in what seems like months. However my time is coming again soon. I should be getting back online in a week or two with high speed internet no less. I shall also have my laptop fixed by then since I have some money saved up.
I spent ALL fucking day fixing my brothers piece of shit computer which has only like 256 RAM. My whole family other then me all share the same computer in the living room. The problem is none of them have any damn clue how to take care of the damn thing or how to surf the web safely. The computer was so full of spyware and viruses that it could hardly function. So to save time I went ahead and fully reinstalled windows on the damn thing. I spent half the day running around town asking my friends for their copy of windows since I have my own key but no disc. And then I sat and stole my friends high speed while I installed all the updates and all the programs they wanted on the thing.
After I went through all the trouble of fixing the junky thing they tell me that they may have to wait until next month to get the high speed internet because they dont have the money for the modem and activation fees and such. I finnal have had it with waisting my time waiting for my family to get shit under control so I am buying EVERYTHING myself. Fixing my computer,fixing THEIR computer buying the modem and paying for the activation of services.
Sooo yaaay now all the money I had saved for jewelry materials and a really nice Wumpscut box set gets spent on other crap.
I had a fun weekend though. I am running a horror theme D&D game at the moment and I managed to give a player a panic attack from the stress and fear. I do not think I have anything else to work towards as a DM now. I have made players cry, swoon, laugh, scream, feel sick, given stories that still get told years later and I have given players nightmares. There seems to be nothing left to do as a Storyteller. I guess 7 years of running games has payed off. The way I look at it is getting a real emotional response from players is more important then all the treasure, killing of stuff, and so on. If they leave with memories that will stay with them then you have done your job.

Back from A-Kon Dallas!
General | Posted 17 years agoThat's right old Loopy went to Anime con Dallas again this year. It wasn't as good this time around and was a tad bummed by that. However I still had fun and I met some really cool people and got some numbers.
First off the con did not have as many cool cosplayers this year as usual that I noticed.
I found a lot of BAD chainmail there and only a small handfull I would not consider just plain garbage. I saw a guy in a knight outfit there and I asked if I could inspect his chainmail and he said ok and I started to list off some details and I mentioned the fact that his suit was actualy just machine made mesh and not hand made chainmail armor and a few other things about his outfit and he started getting figity and said he was in a hurry and had to go. lol I guess he didn't like tha fact I knew his outfit wasn't very good but what do you expect when you cheap out.
I was wearing my stompin boots the whole con which normally would not bother me too much but after having stood and walked around all day when it came time to go to the rave I could hardly move. The first DJ made me want to hurl. He had less skill then a 13 year old with a copy of Fruity Loops. He had the speakers set up wrong to the point that a band roady would cringe. He butchered several very good songs which made me angry and he was not able to even keep the beat flowing right. Thankfully after he finished a fellow from Austin got on and he even opened up with KMFDM Megalomaniac from Symbols that he had remixed just a bit. I ended walking out with glow sticks stuck in the bottom of my boots from when I steped on some.
I shall be posting a few pics of the trip just for fun but I most likely shall remove them in a few weeks. (EDIT OK since apparently people like them and are faving the pics I shall just send them to scraps)
In other news I STILL have not fixed my compter so I am still limited in my online time but I shall fix this problem ASAP.

I have disapointing news everyone. My partener for the fair that I have been building stock for the last several week for is nowhere to be found and I can not get a hold of him. Which means I payed extra cash to get my materials here and worked my ass off for two weeks straight for NOTHING. Soooo now I am $200 in the hole.
I WAS wanting to go to AC this year but with that happening and I WAS also going to get some money from some friends of mine from various reasons but it seems that they all have run into financial trouble right before I was going to collect. I have disapointing news everyone. My partener for the fair that I have been building stock for the last several week for is nowhere to be found and I can not get a hold of him. Which means I payed extra cash to get my materials here and worked my ass off for two weeks straight for NOTHING. Soooo now I am $200 in the hole.
I WAS wanting to go to AC this year but with that happening and I WAS also going to get some money from some friends of mine from various reasons but it seems that they all have run into financial trouble right before I was going to collect. General | Posted 18 years agoRecently I went on a field trip with the game programing class of Tyler Junior College. A class that I do not take in a school I do not attend no less. But however I know several people in that class as well as another guy who just taged along for fun. The trip was to go to Dallas and see a computer facility and while we were there go pick up computer parts and such at Fry's Electronics. We took 4 cars for the trip.
The trip itself was the most fun considering how crazy we were and all of the funny things everyone did in the cars including screaming things at and flipping off the other cars in the group and calling eachothers cellphones. Several times amusing things were done including chinese fire drills at stop lights. One of our number accedently ran a toll booth. Another decided to climb on top of a gas station and proclaim himself king of the world. We got lost so much while in Dallas.
The tour of the facility was really boring and instead of showing us hardware and hands on info it was like a 3 hour sales pitch. The real fun was the trip itslef and when we went to 2 differant arcades for a while.
But as if the trip could not get any better we stoped at Dennys for a late meal. Most of us were falling asleep or had gone on home. But Me and about half of the students were there along with the college professor for the gaming course. The professor and a few of the students started goofing around and doing syrup shots and eventualy it grew into a mighty challange for the professor to drink a WHOLE carafe of syrup (the things they serve juice in). After money was thrown down he accepted and the waitress even called him out on it and brought a carafe to the table. I could telll you all about it but the video is so much better.
