Not liking the removal of the gender drop-down menu
Posted 4 months agoPersonally, I don't like the removal of the gender drop down menu that FA implemented today. It unneccessarily complicates browsing for pictures, especially since many artists or uploaders don't use tags properly, but at least most people managed to fill in the gender drop down.
If the drop down used outdated terminology, the easiest and best solution for everyone would've been to simply update the terminology, i.e. add more option besides male, female and transgender, as well as just include "multiple genders" as an option for let's say m/f pictures.
I see this as a huge step back in providing a user friendly interface and it will most likely negatively affect my browsing habits on FA.

Personally, 2024 was a good year
Posted 10 months agoI mean, everybody who follows US politics can agree that the last two months of 2024 sucked hard... and not in a good way. And I agree.
But all in all, 2024 was a good year for me personally. Why? Because
dreamandnightmare and I finally got married in September! <3
We've been planning it since early February and the ceremony as well as the reception were beautiful. It was a happy day for us - the weather was on our side as well and the sun was shining upon us. Now I can't wait for 2025 to be the first whole year of us being married. :3
A second highlight in 2024 was Eurofurence. Night and I were attending for the first time since the Covid pandemic startet.
(There was a brief daytrip to EF in 2022 that I don't count, because we didn't even buy a day pass, ergo we weren't really "attending".)
EF28 was the second time that the con was held close to where we live, so getting there was very comfortable. But we opted to stay at the hotel anyway, for convenience reasons. It was our first con as a married couple, that's why I called it our "mini honeymoon", and we had a great time. Night even hosted two panels that attracted a lot of people and I got to co-host them.
For those two reasons I will always look back fondly at 2024, but now I look forward to what 2025 will bring. There might not be any furry cons for us on the schedule this year, but we do intend to travel a bit.
I hope all of you made it safely into 2025 as well and your year will be great as well! :3

MFF 2023 Con Report
Posted 2 years agoWeeeell... after one week, I finally feel ready to write up an MFF 2023 post-con report. One of the reasons is that I finally got over my con crud. Luckily, it wasn't covid. I tested negative for the last five days. But a lot of unlucky folks caught the mean bug during the con. I wish them all a speedy recovery!
Okay, let's start! Of course, I was travelling the whole time with
dreamandnightmare who shall hereafter be referred to as Night.
Day 1
Our flight from Hamburg started with a delay of 30 minutes, because the aircraft that started before us had a bird strike and the airport staff had to check the runway for any remains before we could take off. But after that it was a smooth flight to our transit destination Copenhagen. After passport control there, all passengers who went on to US flights had to go through an additional security check, that pretty much just consisted of someone asking us questions like "Did you pack your baggage yourself? Did anybody else put anything into your baggage? Did you recently acquire a new electronic device?"
After that, we had an eight hour flight to Chicago ahead of us, which was rather uneventful.
During the flight, I had prepared Night for a lot of questions at Customs & Immigrations, based on my previous experiences - at one point, the border patrol officer even asked me about my job. This time was quite different, though: not only did we not have to wait in line long, the officer who handled us was apparently so bored with his job that he just checked our passports, took our photos as well as Night's fingerprints (they probably still had mine from last time, which was eight years ago) and asked us "Why are you here?" And after we answered that, we were through. I was a bit dumbfounded by how fast it went.
Luckily, all three of our suitcases (we had an additional one to transport our fursuits) had arrived, we picked up the rental car and drove over to the Hyatt Regency O'Hare to check in, then had a nice dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Day 2
The con hadn't started yet and our friends not yet arrived, so we decided to take the car into Chicago proper that day. Weather was clear and sunny, so we head up to the Skydeck on Willis Tower (still prefer Sears Tower), which offered us a beautiful view over the city and the flatness that is Illinois. Took a lot of pictures, then went down again for our second stop, the Field Museum of Natural History. It has an impressive collection of artifacts and fossils, exhibits about evolution, ancient cultures and biology. We had a lot of fun there and got to see Sue, the most complete remains of a T-rex to date.
Getting back to the hotel was a nightmare, though. The expressway was clogged, so the GPS sent us on a route through the city to get out of the city - an option many other drivers chose as well. We barely moved forward and in the end it took us one and a half hours to get back to Rosemont. Oy!
After dinner at Outback's, our friend
skaylez - hereafter referred to as Fluke (the husky) - arrived, who was sharing a room with us. We also went grocery shopping with him that night to get a few things for the next days, mainly water.
Day 3
Registration day, weee! After going out for breakfast with Fluke, we went over to the convention center to get in line for MFF registration to pick up our badges. Lucky for us, we were in the sponsor group and also relatively early - didn't have to wait long. When we returned to the con center later, we were shocked by how long the line was! :o
But Thursday was finally an opportunity to meet and greet people. Our friend
alsong came in that day, we hung out together and he introduced us to
scyvvir wo joined us for dinner at a German restaurant that night. Food was surprisingly good!
Day 4 ,
Now the con really started! And oh boy, there were so many people! I think the final headcount this year was somewhere around 15,000 people. Night spent three hours at the Dealer's Den that day at the Fenris Publishing booth, handing out merchandise with his art and signing autographs, the old popufur!
I took the opportunity to hand my sketchbook to awesome artists
donryu and
cooner who did wonderful sketches for me which you can already find here in my FA gallery. Later that night, Night, Alsong and I also went to a dinner that Fenris Publishing hosted for their artists and writers. Another guest at the table was
colson who is a very nice guy and it was great to meet him in person. Been following his comics/stories for years!
We also ran into
taggcrossroad and
yerkelayh for the first time that day. We'd bump into those guys a few more times while they were fursuiting.
Day 5
The day
popping came to visit, who lives in Chicago and spent the day at the con. We hung out with him, his buddy
lazysmeargle and Alsong, did some fursuiting on our own (which we also did on the previous two days, I forgot to mention that) and had a good time!
We also bumped into
brooding,
deckarorca ,
nex_anima_canis,
conal and
zeeme123 who are really swell guys and it was very fun to just block an aisle in the Dealer's Den to talk to them x3
Went to the nearby mall that evening with Night, Popping, Lazy and Alsong for some ramen and boba tea. Fursuited some more later that night and checked out the dance.
Day 6
The final day. Night and I decided to have a rich breakfast at the hotel, because we figured we wouldn't get a chance to eat properly until late in the evening on our plane back home. Unfortunately we had to check out in the early afternoon, so we took our suitcases to the car and then hung around the hotel lobby for a few more hours before going to the airport. Had to say goodbye to Alsong, we left on an earlier plane. But it was also amazing how many people we ran into whom we hadn't seen at all the days before. I found
the-b3ing (whom I followed on Xitter until then, now found him oN FA as well) and
dulynoted and got a chance to tell them how much I enjoy their artwork! <3
Special mention also goes to
kaydex, whom I wanted to meet ever since I found out he would be at MFF as well. Last day is the charm, I guess. Kaydex is a wonderful and friendly guy and we talked for over an hour, having a good time.
I'm also glad that I finally had the chance to meet
daxterdingo in real life - two times in fursuit and one time out of suit x3 He is a really energetic puppy, but very friendly and just charming, so I was very thankful for the opportunity! :D
Because I think most people were leaving on Monday, it was still very crowded in the hotel lobby when we finally decided to head to the airport. With a heavy heart, because we had an amazing time and it was so hard to leave all those people like Fluke and Brooding and the guys behind!
The flight back to Copenhagen as well as the connection to Hamburg were uneventful, but we were quite exhausted when we arrived back at our home.
MFF 2023 really was a very special experience. It was Night's first trip to the USA and to an American con, and it was wonderful that so many people recognized him and love his art. For me, it was very interesting to be back after eight years of absence. Midwest Furfest certainly has grown a lot - there were three times as many people as the last time I was there. It was fun to meet new people and to see some old acquaintances again, and also to greet people I've only known online until then in real life for the first time.
We are certainly looking forward to our next trip across the pond - maybe for MFF, maybe for another American fur con. It won't be in 2024, since we'll have a wedding and Eurofurence next year where all our budget will go to, but maybe something could happen again in 2025.
Anyway, thank you for reading and please accept my apologies for every name I forgot to mention in this journal!

The Revival of the MFF Questionnaire
Posted 2 years agoSooooo... after 8 years of absence, yours truly will be back at Midwest Furfest again. And I thought this might be a good opportunity to revive the questionnaire that I used before my MFF visits in the 2010's.
Here we go!
Where are you staying?
The Hyatt Regency O'Hare, thanks to luck with the room lottery.
What day are you getting there?
Gonna be an early arriver on Tuesday, Nov 28th.
Who will you be rooming with?
Got my tiger
dreamandnightmare with me.
What is the best way to find you?
Keep an eye out for a tall guy wearing my badges - or a fursuit head that looks like Asyr.
What do you look like?
Tall (1.90m/6'3"), dark blond, glasses, bearded, bit of a belly.
Will you be suiting?
Definitely, as long as my partial suit makes the journey undamaged!
Do you do free art?
Not an artist.
Do you do trades?
We could trade stories, if you want
Do you do badges/commissions?
See above.
What is your gender?
A 100% male.
How tall are you?
Oops, gave my height away too early. Again, 1.90m/6'3"
Can I talk to you?
If you have a mouth and speak either English or German, I don't see a reason why you couldn't talk to me.
Can I touch you?
Depends on where you wanna touch me. Asking first would be nice.
Can I visit your room?
Only if you're invited.
Can I buy you drinks?
I never say no to a free drink!
Can I give you stuff?
I'm not a trash can! But if you want to hand out some stickers or something like that, sure.
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Hugging is perfectly alright! The snuggling is limited to selected people.
Are you nice?
Depends on whom you ask.
How long are you going?
Gonna be there from Tuesday evening til Sunday evening.
Will you be going to parties?
Hey, I'm open to invitations! Especially if some pup players want to throw a party ;3
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Coming up to me and saying "Hi, Asyr!" usually works fine.
Can I look in your sketchbook?
Gonna bring it with me, so yes. Those are not my sketches in there, though, but pics I commissioned.
Can I draw in your sketchbook?
If you want to. Just ask me first.
Can I come with you for food/fun/etc?
Again, if you're invited.
Can I take your picture?
Sure! Apparently I am one of the very few people in this world who don't even mind random snapshots taken of them ;-D
What's your goal(s) for the con this year?
Explore the "new" MFF venue (last time I was there it was just the Hyatt), meet people, show my tiger-husband around and make sure he has an awesome first trip to the US! :3

Naughty mpreg story feat. yours truly
Posted 4 years agoHey everyone!
I recently found myself in the lucky position of winning a free story raffle from
doomlycantrope, who wrote some of my favorite mpreg, cumflation and incest stories here on FA :3
The finished story features the big boss cat Asyr working off some stress on Doom's character Billy the pitbull, who's interning at Asyr's company. And in case you haven't come to the conclusion yet, of course the story features mpreg and cumflation ;3
You can check out the story here:

Ad time: A great upcoming furry adventure
Posted 5 years agoHello everybody!
This time I'll do a little advertising on here - and no, I have no stocks in the following, I just really like it ;3
https://www.kickstarter.com/project.....e-investigator
I've played the prologue demo of "Brok the Investigator" on Steam and was immediately in love with the game. It is your classic adventure game - but with a cast of furry (and scaly) characters! The art design is adorable and the game is even fully voiced.
Of course, what also really got to me is that Brok is a bit of a chub with his shirt riding up his belly x3
Anyway, if you have a Steam account, I can 100% recommend you give it a try and if you like it, support it on Kickstarter like I did. :3

Here's to 2021 - it can only get better!
Posted 5 years agoHappy New Year, everyone! :3
Remember the last time that people walked into crowded stores without wearing masks? Must've been, like, ten years ago or so.
Anyway, we finally put 2020 behind it - and I guessed it even surpassed the situation on January 1st 2017, when everyone was happy 2016 was over because a lot of famous people had died.
But now that several vaccines are ready and the Orange was voted out of office, it can only get better right? Here's hoping!
On a personal level, I've been living together with
dreamandnightmare for one year and one month now and I couldn't be happier. So, not everything was bad :3

Posted 5 years agoI want to adress an issue that has not so much bothered, but rather amused me. There have been a few different attempts of people trying to reach my fiancé
dreamandnightmare by messaging me - because he has blocked them, be it on FA, Twitter, SoFurry or anywhere else. The latest attempt happened this morning.
Here is my message to these people:
If you want me to talk to Night about the reason, save your effort. I am not gonna take sides for you and against him. If he blocked you, he did that for a reason. I support his decisions regarding those issues completely 100 percent. Instead of taking up your issue with him, I will just block you myself. Simple as that.
I realize that the people I'm adressing here in all likelihood will never read this journal, but I wanted to get it off my mind. Thank you for your attention! :3

Two tigers are better than one
Posted 6 years agoI want to offer my apologies to all fans of
dreamandnightmare out there - I kinda kept him and his art from you by occupying him with a big move into my house.
But the good news is that we're almost done with everything! Today, we assembled the new shelves for our computer room, so that my tiger can put up all his stuff now. You know, all the dildos, action figures and dildo-shaped action figures.
Both of us are very happy that we made this next step in our lives after the engagement in August and are looking forward for the things to come.
Night has settled into the new place rather quickly and I can tell that he is very happy here. That in turn makes me very happy :3
You can expect him to produce a lot more new art in the future and he will be open again for commissions soon. Just stay tuned! :3

Post-Eurofurence Report and Engagement
Posted 6 years agoHello everybody!
dreamandnightmare and I are back from EF 25 and after having the opportunity to wind down for a few hours, I now want to let you know how it went.
A new experience for us was spending a whole week in Berlin (as opposed to just 6 days). This means we already got to the capital on Monday - very relaxed and without the stress of going to the registration immediately after arrival. Instead, we just checked into our room, brought our stuff from the car and then afterwards met our friends
cirez,
lunatik,
wuschelwolf,
mahingan and
blackymoon.
I was also very happy to see
fnr again, who helped out the EF staff.
On Tuesday, we decided to take a trip to downtown Berlin after getting our conbadges. We spent a few hours at the Video Game Museum and went to an escape room afterwards - Night and I already had some experience there, though this was actually the first time we successfully got through a room. Back at the hotel we ran into
macbeth3, who had arrived that afternoon.
Wednesday was when the "con stress" began. After a very entertaining opening ceremony, we went to a panel starring this year's guest of honor Alector Fencer and German comedian/actress Hella von Sinnen. It was a hoot, because most of the audience was German and they all loved Hella a lot.
Night and I went to the dance party that evening in our fursuits, but that wasn't a very fun experience for me because my glasses fogged up under my fursuit head - I couldn't see a thing!
The highlight of the con this year was definitely on Thursday. Night's mom and a friend of ours both came to see us at EF and we were greeting them in our fursuits. My tiger had already convinced me to skip the Uncle Kage Story Hour that afternoon so that we could surprise his mom with a special poster and a photoshoot.
But when I got into position to take that picture, our friends Cirez and
lyk unrolled something that I had not expected: A picture drawn by Nighty of his fursona proposing to mine. While I was still trying to process what was happening, he got down on one knee (we were both still in our fursuits, mind you) and asked me to marry him.
I said yes!
It was a very joyous moment for both of us and I am so glad that nobody could see my face under that fursuit head. I am not a big fan of crying in public ;3
But it was a huge moment and I am so happy that our friends and Night's mom were there with us.
You can see the video of the proposal on Night's Twitter account - just click here.
We later had some champagne and a big celebratory dinner - heck, Night and I even got a hug from Uncle Kage when we ran into him in the lobby and told him about our engagement!
So yes, you are looking at one - no two - very happily engaged tigers and we will upload the pic that Nighty drew later. Maybe he will already do it tonight, I don't know ^.^
The rest of the con was also a blast. I only regret that I suited up as a Jedi Master Cat only once - oh well, there is always the next con!
I got a great pic by
solaxe in the Art Show and my fiancé sold all his pictures there as well :3
He was a little disappointed that he didn't make it into the Art Auction though.
I also got a very sexy digital sketch from
hufnaar and said hi to
werethrope in the Dealer's Den - he is such a friendly boof and is so nice to talk to <3
As always it was a bit sad to see many people leave on Sunday, but at least I managed to get a photo of me with Uncle Kage AND Hella von Sinnen. :D
On Monday we had one last breakfast with our friends and brought all our suitcases and bags and fursuit boxes back to the car, said our goodbyes and were off to Tiger's place again.
I want to thank everybody who I met at EF25 and all the people I forgot to mention in this journal for a wonderful convention and a great time and hope to see you guys again as soon as possible!
Thank you very much for reading this :3

Daddy Tiger is going to Eurofurence 25 (meme thing)
Posted 6 years agoI snatched this year's EF journal meme from my friend
cirez :3
So yeah, I'll be in Berlin for the con from Aug 12 to Aug 19
Where are you staying?
At the Estrel hotel, where all the action is.
Means of transportation?
By car. Only way to transport Night's and my luggage, our fursuits and his pictures for the Art Show.
Sharing a room with:
My wonderful tiger boyfriend
dreamandnightmare <3
What is your gender?
Very Y-chromosomey.
Relationship Status:
Very happily taken by my above-mentioned roommate.
How old are you?
11.895 days or roughly 32 years and 9 months.
How tall are you?
1.90 m
Which languages do you speak?
German and English, barely remembering any Latin.
Where will you be most of the time during the day?
Either in the company of my Cat Group (the people on my profile page who are also at EF) or roaming the halls, sometimes in a fursuit.
Who will you be with?
See above.
Do you do free art?
First I'd have to do art.
Do you do trades?
I don't have anything to trade with.
Do you do commissions?
Same problem as before.
What suit(s) will you have?
Meet Asyr Delgato, businessman by day, Jedi Master by night. Sometimes walks around in a leisure outfit.
Can I dance with you?
I'm a private dancer.
Can I touch you?
Depends on where you want to touch me. Also, asking first might be nice.
Can I talk to you?
If you speak a language that I understand, I don't see why you couldn't. ;3
Can I hug you?
Sure, but please ask first. And take a shower beforehand.
Can I take photos of you/with you?
Absolutely, I'm not pictureshy! :3
Can I buy you lots of drinks?
YES! Cocktails are so expensive at the Estrel, I'd be more than happy if you want to take over my tab :D
Do you drink Alcohol/Smoke?
I'm a non-smoking responsible drinker.
Can I give you lots of money?
I don't know what for, but I'll never say no to donations ^.^
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Hugging: see above.
Snuggling: Only if I really like you and Night has no problem with it.
Can we hang out?
Sure, as long as you don't annoy me.
Are you nice?
When people are nice to me, I'm usually nice to them, too.
Other cons you may go to?
Hopefully, Night and I will attend NFC in Sweden for the first time next year.
Attending any panels?
There are two or three on my list.
How can I find you at the con?
I'll be easy to spot in my fursuit. Otherwise just look for a tall dark-blonde guy with glasses and a badge that says "Asyr".
Can we go out for a dinner?
Most likely not, as I'll be having dinner with my friends.
Are you buying art?
I need to hold my money together this year, so it is not very likely. It depends on how high some of the bids in the art show are gonna go.
What do I have to watch out for, when I am meeting you?
That I might not see or hear you and move on with some other people. It is not me trying to purposefully be rude, it's just that there are a lot of noise and crowds at a convention.
What is the best way to contact you?
If you already have my Telegram contact, try that. Other than that: good luck!
(Though I migh check Twitter from time to time)
May I kidnap you to my room?
Kidnapping is a felony in Germany and punishable by 5 to 10 years in prison.
You look pretty tired, are you ok?
Cons can be very taxing and I might need to retreat to my room for a nap every now and then, but don't worry.
Last time/last con/last meet/last chat we talked so much and now you forgot my name? Why???
It might be that the con last year was the only time we ever talked, so please excuse me for being forgetful. I work in a profession where I meet many people every day, it's hard to remember everyone.
Will you tell me your room number and can I surprise visit you?
No, since I am rooming with a famous artist, we value our privacy and only allow invited guests to our room.
I have a personal question for the convention. May I ask you that?
Sure, I don't have a problem with answering questions.

Ooooh, shiny!
Posted 6 years agoI think this new shinies idea that FA introduced is a good idea (and probably hard competition for Ko-fi), so I enabled it for my account as well.
Soooo yeah... I'm not an artist, I haven't posted any stories in a while... feel free to give your money now! XD

A cartoon show about a buff anthro rhino? Yes please!
Posted 7 years agoEDIT: Unfortunately, the Kickstarter failed! That is a shame!
Bear with me for putting out a lil advertisement.
Today, while I was browsing Twitter, I stumbled upon a Kickstarter for the pilot of an animated show called "The Rhino and the Oxpecker".
So far they put up a lil trailer with concept art and also did a few test animations and I must say... I really like the look! And the main character, of course ;3
The creators who want to put this pilot up also made a nice animated short film, "Breathing Space", which can be found here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRkND6PnKvE
Anyway, I've decided to support this project, because I would really like to see it come to life.
All I ask of you, now, is to just check it out and if you like it too, become a kickstarter :3

Post EF Report
Posted 7 years agoSoooo... it's time to look back at this year's Euofurence!
Let me start with the negative stuff: I got the con crud. It started on the last day (Sunday) and I'm still suffering from it, my doctor has given me sick leave for the rest of the week <.<
Now for the good stuff: EF24 was amazing! :D
dreamandnightmare and I had lots of fun. It was great seeing our friends again and meeting people for the first time, with whom I'd only chatted online before.
We explored the con together with
wuschelwolf,
lunatik,
cirez,
blackymoon and
mahingan.
It was the very first furry con for
macbeth3, who enjoyed it a lot and hung out with us. He is a great guy online and even nicer iRL - so very huggable ^.^
Cirez and Macbeth also both brought their new fursuits along and went suiting for the first time - it was obvious they were enjoying it :D
Night and I also showed off in our Jedi and Sith costumes respectively and put on some nice lightsaber action - you might have seen pictures of it here on FA or somewhere else x3
It was great talking to super friendly furs like
lyk,
ignitus,
klaatu or
ghostbear2k again - and even meet new ones like
tamfox and
reegusthedrake
My apologies to anyone I might have forgotten - I might add you later ^.^
Got myself some new pictures in the art show and even a tiger statue made by
hufnaar - it looks awesome on my desk :3
And I am very happy that Night was able to sell all his pieces - especially the one he made in memory of our friend
akira7, who died in March this year and wanted to visit EF for the first time this year. The earnings for the picture went 100% to charity and I'm very proud of my tiger for that <3
A big thank you goes to the con staff, who did a wonderful job at making the convention enjoyable again. You are the best!
I will upload a few pictures of Night and myself in our fursuits during the next days, so don't be surprised to see photographs on this account for a change. But it's not like I've never done that before x3
That is all for now - I'm looking forward to seeing all you fun furs at Eurofurence 25 next year :3
