[GENERAL NOX NEWS]

Well, I've been keeping busy with uni stuff, getting in a fair bit of practice that'll hopefully show in my work. I'm really going for a good strong passing grade for this year in my uni work because I have a whole next year to look forward to. Why's that, you ask? Well, that's because next year.. Nox.. Is going to study over in the USA. That's right, I'll be spending hopefully one whole year over in the USA for my studies! Hopefully I'll make lots of new friends, meet lots of people I'm already friends with and even open a few windows of opportunity for going back so that I can move there for good when my studies are over. I'm not 100% sure where I'll be in the USA just yet but it'll be central, as close as I can get to Kentucky I hope but it's likely I'll be going to Missouri. I'll keep you updated on that for the people interested. If anyone has any questions about that, go ahead and throw them at me.

Good morning everyone, I decided I'd post a journal today since it's been a little while. I've got some work to upload later somewhere which is good but it'll be much later 'cause today's the longest day in my Uni schedule. Although it's a long day I should be working digitally with Photoshop and/Maya so the time should pass just fine and I'll be able to sneak onto Skype at some point while I'm there.

Sorry about the absence again chaps and ladies, the first week of university kicked my rear rather awfully. New pictures will be uploaded soon though.
Also, as the title of this journal implies I have some big plans to see through regarding my art and things I want to do and I've decided to do a sort of iron art kind of thing for myself, after everything else is done. I want to raise as close to $2000 as I can get before the end of January and I think a personal iron artist thing is probably the best way to go about it. Not only should I hopefully generate the money in time but I should also like to see somewhat an improvement in my work if I'm to practice solidly for the duration of the challenge. You see I've promised someone very special to me that I will do my best to be able to raise the money so that I can travel to see them for their birthday in February and give them the perfect birthday that they've asked for from me, 'cause deep down Noxy's a big ol' sap and there's nothing he won't at least try for the people he loves. So how about it, guys? Help a Nox out when the time comes? 200 pieces at $10 each for uncoloured stuff. 100 pieces at $20 each for coloured. Something like that and all the in-betweens. Maybe 100 uncoloured and 50 coloured. I'll probaby even stream most of it. Who knows, I don't much care as long as I get to my target amount.

I'll open up the slots for that soon, but in blocks of 10 at a time and slots will continue to open until I reach the amount I need, so don't worry about not getting one; there should be plenty going from now until after Christmas and into January. Of course, I'd like your feedback on this too, so go ahead and post what you think, whether it's 'cause you want a slot when they open or if you think the prices should be different. It's a big challenge but Noxy's willing to fight.

Hello, all! I've been crunching a few numbers and ideally I'll need just under $240 to get some stuff I want, but I'll call it $240 'cause it's a nice, round number and divides perfectly with my $20 per piece price for my full colour sale. So by those numbers I'll need to do 12 commissions. So I'll be opening up 12 slots for those. Although I won't doing them for a little while yet as I've still got a few things to wrap up; I'll open up those slots now should anyone wish to reserve one. You can pay with your reservation if you wish but it's not a requirement since there'll be a bit of a wait before I get to work on them [I estimate.. maybe 5 days], although I would like to get this stuff as soon as possible.

I'll post an example as soon as I can but just to clarify what the sale gets you:

$20 for a full colour, shaded piece of one character with a simple background. Clothed or nude; it's up to you, just nothing over the top ridiculous.. like.. Your character in a super detailed Ironman suit with Doc-Ock arms and eight miniguns or something like that. You can have a more detailed background for $5 extra if you wish and extra characters for $5 each, all also in full colour. Also, after watching MLP all the way through and not hating it, I'm willing to take on MLP related works now.

Been steaming into work lately and should have a lot to upload very soon. Well, I got all my new computer stuff and it seems to all be working smoothly except for a tiny little glitch with the internet where I find myself having to sometimes start up my computer more than once to get the connection to work. S'not a huge deal though, it usually only takes a one or two restarts to get going if it doesn't work right away. But yes, I'm back to work now and I re-downloaded Livestream so that I can stream again sometime when I'm feeling confident in my ability. I'm also looking into capture software so I can record videos of work that I do as well for a Youtube channel sometime, so far I've got a CamStudio which isn't installed yet but I'll give it a go sooner or later.

Also, on a random note, I've been seeing a lot more MLP stuff around and I get asked quite a lot if I'm a Brony. The short answer for all those wondering is 'no'. I'm not a Brony but I must say that I highly appreciate it's newer style thanks to Lauren Faust because the older style, mostly from the toys and adverts, sort of used to creep me out. But hey, I've only seen two episodes after being told to give it a chance. And I think those two episodes only really count as one 'cause they were both about the same thing, just in two halves. So maybe I'll watch another two for the sake of good science 'cause I'm fairly interested in drawing some MLP related stuff such as my own renditions of the characters and possibly expand who my work appeals to. What do we think of that? I doubt I'll label myself a Brony but to all you Bronies and MLP fans, you may have yourself a friend and ally at least.

Well, I've got lots to do so I'd better get cracking. There's still a lot this computer lacks so I'll be raising the money to get the programs and whatever else I'm missing like a new keyboard and mouse [seriously, I've had to dust off my old gear from over ten years ago] and whatever software I think I'll need. Oh and a decent camera for recording videos of all kinds like doing art, maybe a small mountable one for airsoft videos and whatever other Youtube and video related projects I have swimming in my busy, busy brain. My PC hasn't been dispatched yet despite me paying for it to have been sent so that I received it today. So I got in touch with the company and apparently there was a glitch during Quality Control, so they had to pull it back into the main shop and find out what's wrong. They said they'd try to dispatch it today but it'll be dispatched Monday at the latest. But since it's waaay past 3pm now it's likely they'll send it on Monday. So I may receive it Wednesday. Tuesday if I'm lucky. Oh well.. I'd rather get a computer that works than one that's glitching out I guess.

Just ordered my new PC. I should hopefully have everything I need by Friday!
I know it's a while before they arrive but I just know I'll be waking up early every day until then to wait by the door for packages.

The cheque for my Cintiq came in much sooner than I thought! My grandma is so awesome and gave me £200 more than I needed just so I can get a few more things I may need. My grandma's awesome!

The check will clear by Friday, so I'll be up bright and early that day to see if it's been accepted into my bank so I can order it. I'll probably have to wait until the 6th to order my PC though, which is annoying, the wait's already killing me. But I really hope that's an overestimation.

I'm just looking forward to being able to work properly again, learning to use my new tools so that I can quickly and skillfully create the arts I see in my head. Also, since I won't have a sucky computer that can't handle it, I'll be able to stream again and record videos of how I create my work. I'm going to learn so much!I can't wait! When I'm all set up I may host a little streamed sketch-request session to help me get used to my new gear. Would anybody be up for that?

And while I remember- does anyone know of any free capture/recording software so that I can record my Photoshop stuff?

Great news! I should have a new PC within the next couple of weeks! On top of that, my grandma said she'd help me out with my studies, but the PC is already covered, so she's lending me the cash to get myself a Cintiq! I'm uber excited and can't wait to order it, let alone use it x3 So anyone still expecting commission work from me should expect some excellent results; they'll provide some excellent practice with my new gear when it arrives. I'll probably be able to order that in a little over a week and have received it on two; so around about the same time as I get my PC.

A new i7 Quad Core, 16Gb of RAM, 3Gb Graphics card and 2Tb of space for my por- er work :3
And a Wacom Cintiq 12WX to fill up what little space there's be left on my puny desk. I'm a happy Nox.

Sorry about my rare appearances online as of late, I've been having that terrible experience where when one things blows up, so do a bunch of other things. Now two laptops have died and the desktop I'm supposed to have finished building isn't up to snuff.

I can use a handful of things on it like photoshop and I'm working on getting SAI to work on it so that I can carry on working, it's just it's still a piece of junk. So I need to get a new PC, after college has just finished and took everything I'd saved; which is bloody typical and to be honest I expected nothing less; I knew all my gear was crap, I was just hoping it'd hold out until I get my grants in September, so it's just awful timing.

To get the PC I want that'll be able to handle everything that I need it to, it's going to cost about £400. That'll ensure it's a good machine for my university work too seeing as I'll be running many programs at once. I'll make do with that until January, where I'll get a new laptop and I'll finally be portable again. So I'm more or less getting my interwebs fix with my dad's PC now. And I was excited and hoping to be playing PSO2 right about now.. very upset about that.

Oh well. Just letting everyone know that I'm well but my laptops/PC are not, so.. yeah. I'm still working at stuff, just progress has been severely hindered. Hopefully I'll find I'm not too far behind as I've tried to be paranoid and save backups regularly to my external drive.

Heya everyone. My good friend  ramona-star and I are both in dire need of money so we've banded together to do a cheap, iron artist sort of thing. I'll be doing the sketching and line work and she'll take care of the colouring. My personal target is about $65 before three weeks are up so hopefully enough people will be interested in this. We've got five slots going right now but if it turns out a lot of people want to do this then we'll have another round of five slots when the other pieces are done. While spaces fill up I'll carry on with the commissions I already have. With it being half term now I expect I should get a fair bit done

Well I thought It wou'd be a simple case of "Unscrew, remove back, solder part, replace back, re-screw." but as usual nothing ever goes as I hope. Just to get to the little power socket on the back I have to dismantle the whole bloody laptop! I started unscrewing everything but it got to the point where I had to stop; I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to putting laptops together when they're in a thousand pieces, I could try, but it's really not worth risking breaking the laptop and losing all of my commissions and work. I'll speak to my dad about it; he knows way more about computers and laptops than I do. In the mean time I may be able to get a hold of a battery from my sister. It's old and hasn't been charged in years but, if I can get it to fit/hook up to power my laptop, I might be able to buy a few minutes to pull off my commission folder and homework folder. I dunno. I/we'll think of something. I wondered why I had to pay £50 to have the socket re-soldered last time and now I know why; they earned every penny of it. All those screws.. @_____@

I'm at my dad's place now; all moved in. My other laptop took a bit of damage during the move but nothing a bit of soldering won't fix so I'll get to that as soon as I can get my hands on a soldering iron.

It's great here, my dad and his wife are awesome and I'm getting to know her and my step-brother a lot better. Whilst my main laptop has been out of action and I can't get to my other work [even my college homework. Zero shits given for that though] for the time being I've treated myself to a personal piece and I'm happy to say that page 11 of LHM is well under way. Really, that's what I come back to?

Seriously people. I'm not ignoring your notes, I haven't even been able to read them until now, how could I? I don't even have a -house- let alone an internet connection. There, I said it. I've been homeless. I thought all was going to be fine at Christmas after my mother let me come home but no, my welcome there was as temporary as Christmas it's self. I've literally been living out of trash bags and staying at friend's places and studios, not staying in either place for more than a couple of nights, all while trying to juggle college along with it.

Most of the outstanding work I have on my list is done, I've just not been able to upload it 'cause I've had no internet, being a vagrant and all. I've finally been able to settle down back at home after my mother agreed to let me stay here for the remainder of the week [But alas she still has no internet. Or rather no router, she uses this weird dongle thing now that no one else is allowed to use. I only found out about all this going on because a friend called me to say he saw it all and he's let me come here to chill out for the day] since I finally managed to get in touch, have dinner and talk about it with my dad. To put a long story short; I've been homeless because my mother chose her lying, cheating, abusive, control freak of a boyfriend over her own family.

Either way, after having dinner with my dad he sees that she [mother] is being a bitch and he's overjoyed that I'm going to move in with him until university starts in September. That'll either be Saturday or Sunday, I'm not sure yet 'cause I'm waiting to be told by my dad when's he's free to come and collect the rest of my stuff, me included.

A lot of my stuff's already been moved over, including my other laptop so chances are that if your art's not on this one, it's on that one, in which case you'll have to wait 'till Saturday or Sunday. Possibly Monday if he decides to come and get me late on Sunday night.

To people such as Seinkraft, Blaya and Airlia that have left a lot of notes/messages for me to come back to. [And thank you for those] your pieces are done, they have been for a while and I'll upload those momentarily. I won't bother replying to them now as seeing the kind of things that have been said about me, replying to them would be pointless, irrelevant and would only spark debates that I really don't have the time or the energy for. Airlia, I'm sorry but I know yours is definitely on my other laptop. At least the finished version, but if you F5 the presketch you bought either in my galley or on your favourites list you'll see at least some of the progress from the sketch that I posted some time ago. The flat colouring was done at the very least at that point.

I'm sorry I've not been able to respond to messages, I don't know what this talk of reading them and ignoring them is because, like I've said, I've been homeless so it goes without saying that I've not even been able to read them at all, let alone read them and then not bother replying.

All in all I've been having a hard and stressful time working around going to college while constantly on the move and I'm sorry that my involuntary negligence toward FA has caused other people stress as well. But, come Sunday, you'll hopefully see a lot more of me around FA again. If anyone has any questions, please leave them here on the journal rather than note me 'cause I have a lot of those notes to go through now and I have to sift through to determine the hate-mail from the ones with information I may still need. That'll probably be the first thing I do this weekend at my dad's.

I think this journal's long enough now, gonna upload Seinkraft and Blaya's pieces and then spend another couple of hours here at my friends place and catch up some before I head home and get what's left ready for moving. If there's anything good that come out of being kicked out of my home twice, it's that I've been able to get rid of a lot of the crap that I've accumulated over the years and just keep what I need.

After finally getting to speak to my tutor about studio fees for college she understands my situation and she's completely fine with me paying it after the Christmas holidays. I've always liked this particular tutor 'cause she never causes me any hassle and she's quite laid back about stuff. I just don't have her for classes so much any more so I rarely see or get to talk to her. All that's left college-wise to worry about is the last £40-£50 of my bus pass. then I can live in relative comfort for a little bit.

Also the first major deadline is over with, which was where I choose my specialism and then give a presentation about it. That went rather well I think. the good thing about my specialism that I've chose is that it's what I do anyway; digital work. So I'll be reading a lot of tutorials and teaching myself a lot of things over the next 6 months of this project so you should all see a considerable jump in my skill as I'll be pushing myself to get better and quicker with what I do. Hurray for improvement! Also, the homework should die down just a little bit thanks to this as well.

The half-term holidays are coming up as well. This time next week I'll have a week off from college so during that time I'm going to pour as much effort as possible into getting overdue commissions done and get to work on the Lusty Argonian Maid comic bought by Jade-Scale. Seems I'll be doing a fair bit of comic work 'cause I'll be making one for my college work too. Needless to say the Lusty Argonian Maid comic will be posted but if my college comic goes as planned I'll post that one as well, although that won't be posted for some months yet.

I think after all these commissions are done I'm only going to take on about $100 worth of commissions after that but spread out over a time. After that I'll probably take a break from them and pursue my own projects as to practice my new skills as I learn them. Of course the new skills I learn for college will be put to much better use making your furry pr0nz as well.

Sorry for my absence as of late everybody. Life's just really getting to me lately.
My education is suffering. I've probably got until Christmas until I'm on the street with nowhere to go and just about everybody I know is stabbing me in the back with no explanation as to why.
Every day life's getting less and less worth living for me and I'm nearing the edge. I'm working my arse off and the walls of crap and obstacles just keep hitting me. I really wish I could just disappear sometimes.. I've a lot of anger lately and I can't direct in the places I want to.

Oh well
