I may or may not be getting a vintage Ford Mustang soon
Posted 10 years agoSo, me and my dad (who I still live with at the moment) were discussing getting a vintage car to work on together, which we settled on a 1965 Ford Mustang because there's a lot of them in the Atlanta area and we could get one cheap easily (under 20,000 or even under 15,000 dollars).
I saw this the other day:

It isn't the exact one we would be getting, but it's an example of what it would look like.
If you don't know anything about old cars, this one is a coupe model (which has an angular roof). There are more desirable ones with a fastback roof (which is more of a smooth slope), but because they're so desirable, they're also expensive as a result, so I would be getting the more common coupe model like in the picture, which is fine by me considering I like the blocky look of it.
Anyway, I'm really excited because I've wanted a pre-80s muscle car for a while! :D

Posted 10 years agoSince Popufur is long gone (it hasn't been updated in nearly a year and a half) I can't figure out how many FA users currently have between 1,000 and 10,000 watchers.
I have a habit of browsing Tumblr, finding an artist who's style I like, and going through the link to their FA page to watch them.
I've found that most users that I find have watch counts from anywhere between 1,000 and 10,000.
So I've started wondering: how long will it be until I've watched all users from the top (Wolfy-Nail) to all the users who have exactly 1,000 watchers? At least all the users who draw gay art, or who's characters appear in gay art, or if their style otherwise tickles my fancy.
If someone could find a way to estimate these numbers without the use of Popufur, that would be nice.

Back from Vacation, with new human rights apparently >w<
Posted 10 years agoVERY LATE JOURNAL BECAUSE I WAS FORCED TO GO ON A SHITTY VACATION. NOBODY WILL READ THIS BECAUSE IT'S 6 DAYS LATE.
So shortly after the Supreme court ruling was made about same sex marriage, I got really excited.
But that excitement was shat on, a couple days later, when I had to spend time with my family in a tiny little RV on vacation. >.<
There was Disney World, so that was a thing.
I had to abstain from fapping for 6 days, although I snuck a couple sessions in here and there.
My dad had pneumonia throughout the trip and was hospitalized halfway through due to risk of cardiac arrest. He didn't actually end up having cardiac arrest, though, so that was good.
So, basically, I had a shitty time after gay marriage was legalized. Whoop-dee-doo?
And every time I brought up how happy I was about gay marriage, I was told to shut up.
I don't usually act happy around my family, so that was like they were shitting-onto-my-face insulting me.
But as for the ruling, I'm extremely happy about it. I hope I'll get to have the opportunity to use these rights some day.
(PS: sorry if this journal was more about me complaining about my vacation than it was about the gay marriage ruling.)

Posted 10 years agoI actually have never played any of the fallout games, so I'm not as excited as everyone else seems to be.
I am, however, really excited for Doom 4 (or just "Doom" as they seem to be calling it).
Thoughts I had from the gameplay trailer:
• I hope enemies don't drop health in harder difficulties
• the revenant can fly now, apparently, so that's cool. Probably would make him a pain in the ass to shoot.
• Also he ripped both of Doomguy's arms off. I'm not sure if that's supposed to be a death scene or actually part of the plot. I hope that wasn't inspired by Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. That's the worst game franchise to take inspiration from.
• I also hope those takedown moves aren't required to kill enemies if you have weaker weapons, because those seem time consuming and inefficient and probably would get you killed if there are a lot of enemies around. The chainsaw was cool, but it also seemed time consuming to use.
• The double barreled shotgun was also cool. It seemed exactly like how it was in Doom 2.
I also liked the glowy red/orange aesthetics. It really makes it capture the same feeling of the old Doom 1 and 2 games with modern graphics.
• I also hope the release of Fallout 4 doesn't overshadow Doom 4's release, because id Software said at one point that they were aiming for Doom 4 to sell as many copies as Skyrim, so that means Doom needs to sell at least 230,000 copies within the first day of release on PC. Valve said Skyrim was the fastest selling game to date on steam (by the time the game came out)
• If Doom 4 doesn't sell well, then there probably won't be any more doom games, because none of id's founding members are left working for the company.
• But Wolfenstein: The New Order did surprisingly well, so there's that. I have my fingers crossed for Doom.
• Also ProJared made a good point: "...now I'm kind of curious what [Bethesda] has left for Quake Con"

I recently got the entire Adobe Creative Cloud
Posted 10 years agoMy dad works for Adobe, so he hooked me up with all of Adobe's desktop software on a fat discount. He paid 400-something dollars for what would have been over 2000 dollars (in total) to the average person.
I have to say I'm really thankful for this. I used to sketch on AutoDesk Sketchbook Pro on my Galaxy Note 8 tablet, then fine tuned my sketches in Gimp. When I use Photoshop, it seems like a massive step up.
Still, I almost feel like I don't deserve this sort of power. It didn't just come with Photoshop. It came with everything adobe currently produces in terms of desktop applications. And it's all CS6 software.
I'm not sure if my shitty art skills would warrant such high end software.
Still, I'll be practicing on Photoshop now. Expect a few sketchity-doodles in the future. If I don't upload any, then don't be surprised. I've never been consistent with my uploads. xD

When I view Tumblr on Chrome, the brwoser will show all posts, pics and all, no problem. But if I scroll a few pixels down, some posts that originally showed up now appear as blank boxes.
I haven't had this problem on Firefox. I can scroll forever without any posts disappearing before my eyes.
When I played Battlefield 4 today (I wanted to benchmark my PC when I was afraid it was slowing down), Google had the bright idea to disable NPAPI-formatted plugins making playing BF4 impossible on chrome. I tried to re-enable them, and it did nothing.
I tried it on Firefox, and wouldn't you know, it had no problems.
Chrome has also blocked FurAffinity once for a couple minutes for no reason, and it seems to block SoundCloud indefinitely, until a blue moon, when it decides to randomly ublock it. It always points to my antivirus software as the cuprit, but when I go to check it, it says no websites are blacklisted.
Firefox doesn't have this problem. I can temporarily make Firefox my default browser and my antivirus software doesn't give a shit about blocking safe sites.
On top of all of this, Google has been suspicious of cooperating with the fucking NSA through Chrome in the past.
I've fucking had it up to here with Google Chrome.
I'm switching to fucking Firefox.
It seems the only two reasons people use chrome are because it's fast, and syncs your data across all devices.
Other than that, it's more problems than it's worth.
I'm fucking done with this shit.
