General | Posted 19 years agoK. Got four sunset pics posted in the scraps. Hold on, gotta open the door for Benny. Sec... Ah ok, stay outside. Mmm... Sunsets! Again, wouldn't post one if it weren't tweaking something. FA cacked before I'd posted em last night but they all up now. I'd love an opinion on which to put into gallery.
*sigh* I've seen bitching about this site beeing laggy and down the last few days and I just gotta say SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU WIMP-ASS LEECHING MOTHERFUCKERS! This site is FREE so far and anything you get out of it if'n ya haven't ponied up the ducks is fucking GRAVY! Want a file stash? Try sniveling up some space on a 0-day site. Try distributing yer juice through a 14,4 modem to a hacked US Postal Service server. Seriously, that's where we used to live. Fucking US postal service was open as hell. Distributed net with no security = new site being opened/closed every fucking week mon. Sneer at me 'cos I'm rural and 28.8? Bite my Klank!
Note: Finally tossed LJ buckolas because I've been guilt-tripping myself out like hell after having such fun with it, and making such good contacts. I'd love to toss this site some bucks as soon as I can, but you talkin' bout a bro who stretches to spend $20 on chew-toys fer the pups and some acrylics for a jacket that might get further bucks. "Bob"'s honor I'll be shooten' em a few when I can, and damn straight I LOVE all the ego-boost I've gotten from y'awllll from what I've posted. No delecate psyche here mon, but I've got issues, and yer all a major source of what gets me through em.

Where to draw the line?
General | Posted 19 years agoArgh! Torn. I had such a nice reaction to a few of the ice pics that I'm putting at least one more in the gallery. But what then? Got more which I'll upload to the scraps section but I'm constantly faced with that decision of where to draw the line. I vowed when I got this account that I wouldn't flood it. So what to do? Ask for feedback I guess. So, aw hell, if you ever see anything in the scraps dept that you think is good enough for the gallery, let me know eh? Hmm... should do some fun edits maybe. That green background on the ice claw is a little well, industrial green. Could replace it fairly easily. What should I use? Mmmm! Lord of the Ring-ish fantasy cliffs perhaps? Anyways, more pics of that ice formation being upped now. Shows how the thing evolved.
Composition
General | Posted 19 years agoWell, unfortunately the last ice pics went into the scraps section. Reason is, well, there just didn't seem to be a way to frame them, get the right shot. The sky was dull and I have to hold the camera right by the wall of the garage just to catch the shot. Just had one thought though... since it's facing east I might be able to get a decent shot there in the morning, right at sunrise when there'll be some color. We'll see.
More scraps to upload! I love close-up macro shots so I took quite a few pics of the feathers on that grouse. Great for use in digital texture maps, things like that. Just gotta sort through em and settle on a few good ones.
Ah one last note on composition etc. I'm not a purist... there's many ways to tweak a picture to bring out different elements. I invite y'awlll to check out some of my pics with say, B&W with pumped contrast, or super-saturated color. Filters be there to be used. Later y'awlll!

Oportunity knocks!
General | Posted 19 years agoWell, on the way to the house this morning the pups and I startled some prairie chickens. One of them flew straight into a window and provided me with some nice photo-ops... and dinner! Yawp! Broke it's damn neck! I've put the pics in the scraps section because they're not exactly artistic, except for the extreme close-up on the eye. Great reference material though and I'll be upping some good macro shots of the feathers.
The icicles though, that's something on a different level. Know how many pics you've gotta take to catch a drip in mid-air? Um... lots, even if they're rhythmic. I'm VERY happy with the shots I've upped. More to come!
