Have you ever really thought about all the things you've done in fursuit? Here's a list of questions to help you figure out just how much fursuiting you've engaged in ;3
No rules (apart from having fursuited at one point or another), just answer the questions any way you'd like!
Posed in front of a mirror?
Yeah, both to check how I look in different poses/angles, and as part of making fursuits. Though these days I tend to use a video camera/webcam and display. :p
Been shopping/to a supermarket/store in fursuit?
Yes; 1997 during a charity fursuit meet-and-greet during a street fair, wearing Jamie Wolf. (Hands up if you remember that old suit?)
Been group suiting?
Yes; several times.
Ever put on your fursuit for no reason and worn it for an extended period of time?
"No reason"? Hrm. I dunno, sometimes it's a more entertaining option than putting on a jumper during winter. :P
Have you walked around your hometown in fursuit?
Yeah; way way back in the day.
Fursuited in a different state?
NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, ACT... But not Tasmania, Northern Territory or South Australia.
In a different country?
USA and Germany!
Fursuited at a con? If so, how many times?
Yes and... umm. I've lost count, really. I try to get out in suit once a day during a convention, at least. o.O;
Drank in fursuit?
Yes; It's kinda funny - Atpaw is pretty much the sole reason I have any sort of tolerance/enjoyment of beers. Normally I drink scotch, but scotch isn't served in a bottle with a long neck.
Eaten something?
Yes; Jamie Wolf has eaten McDonalds. Atpaw ate a caramel mudcake. :9
Put on someone else's fursuit?
Yes, though not at a furcon.
Ruined the magic in public?
If you mean "popping the head", then nnnnnno, actually. Maybe 'cause of how often I used to do charity/paid events in fursuits. On the other hand, Atpaw himself is a 'talking' character, which isn't typical performance-event behaviour, so hey. :P
Gone to a furmeet in suit?
A few, yeah.
Been in a moving car while in suit?
Yes, while we were relocating from one fursuit-tourism site to another, back here:

But my real "moving vehicle" party-piece would have to have been during the photoshoot for the 2009 Fursuit Calendar, where I rode my Triumph Tiger 1050 at a variety of speeds in full fursuit, on a closed road.

I don't know if being ambushed by an ocean of tourists at several events (paid and unpaid) counts, heh. :)

A handful over the last decade and a bit, yeah. Some are tragic, some are funny, some are frightening. Roll with it. :)

Instead I'll just go with the one that frightened me most: At Eurofurence 2009, I danced with Tailen while dressed as Atpaw for some five and a bit hours, at Big Blue Fox's dance. o.O; I got quite the fright when I got out of Atpaw to discover it was basically dawn!

This is gonna be a tragically lame and furry and I apologise in advance but... Honestly, there was something special about being dressed as a cheetah, straddling a 125rwhp litrebike and blasting up and down a closed road with the wind quite literally in one's fur. Fastest land animal, indeed.

General | Posted 15 years agoJust to let everyone know, I (and my household) are fairly well positioned for the Brisbane and Queensland flooding. We live quite literally on the crest of a hill a good way above sea level, about 10km from the Brisbane River.

Unless I'm wearing Atpaw, in which case I'll look like longcat, except with yellow and black in addition to the white fur. Same conbadge.
Do you have a fursuit?
Atpaw. 6'4, yellow, swishy tail, makes fun of people who seem surprised that cheetahs can talk.
Hugs?
In da fursuit, sure! But you have to promise not to be creepy. :)

Sure can! I may or may not be distracted by something shiny at the time, so please be patient wif a distractable cat.

General | Posted 15 years agoBrowsing through my own Gallery here on FA, I realised that it's a rather awkwardly eclectic mix of photos of friends' fursuits, photos of fursuits and things I've made, photos of animals, photos of just stuff in general.
Some of them are photos I take tremendous pride in, some of them are pretty average.
Or, to get to the point, I sort-of wonder if I should cull and prune my gallery a little. Tighten its focus. Improve its quality average.

General | Posted 15 years agoIt's been a busy six months for a couple of reasons. Biggest news is that I have a new job now, as a forensic engineer. Means I have to wear a huge pair of aviator sunglasses like that Horatio guy.
Have also moved city now, due to the new job. I seem to lack stability when it comes to location.
Got a few projects going on. A few fursuit-related things to do, a few videos to make.

General | Posted 16 years agoBeen a long time since I've posted anything on FA, journalwise or submissionwise.
For the last four weeks I've been helping out on a critical fire-recovery project for one of our clients; 12 hour days, six day weeks. Pretty crazy stuff.
Now that the project is complete and I'm back home again, I can return to working on fursuits and photography and whatnot. :)

It was great to meet many of you, and catch up with others once more.
I'm still in San Jose until Thursday night when I fly home - No real plans, so if someone wants to meet up, I can endeavour to make that happen.
In the meantime:
Some of you might be interested to know that I'm writing a discussion post comparing the construction of He'tah, my second fursuit, and Atpaw, my third fursuit.
A comparison of what I did differently, the pros/cons of each, and what I would do differently again in the future.
I've been writing a lot of it during downtime when I've not had photos to postprocess, parties to attend, and fursuits to wear.

Some say, Atpaw chose cheetahs as a personal species as a metaphor for his physical build and agility at the time. And that prior to that he was briefly a very fanboyish wolf.
Some say, Atpaw's name is not only the text version of a pair of pictograms; an @ symbol followed by a pawprint, but that it was also chosen specifically to pre-empt the popularity of multitap text on mobile phones. 28729. Only one of these is true.
Although he has lost his peak physique, some say that maintaining his weight within 80-85kg is one of Atpaw's rules for life. Despite this, Atpaw refuses to exercise at all unless it involves 'going somewhere' - mountainbiking, running, rowing/sculling.
Some say, Atpaw is obsessed with sporting vehicles that provide a visceral feel and are fun to operate, regardless of whether they are 'fast' and powerful or not.

Packing up, moving out!
General | Posted 18 years agoRight. Just uploaded a handful more photos from my visit to Werribee Zoo a few months ago, so visitors don't have to stare at nothing but 'Speedkats' all day long. :)
I promised myself that I'd finish packing + tidying up the apartment before uploading. And I did!
1:20am now. Gotta sleep. Removalists coming in the morning at 8am.
