I'll do it next year (also happy halloween)
General | Posted 14 years agoI decided I'll just do the contest next year. It's a bit late to start a Halloween contest now, seeing it is Halloween already. It's sad that I'm not doing anything...but I feel too tired and sick to *sigh* The most I did was dress up as Kyouya from Ouran High School Host club at school for a few hours, and some people reconised me. Anyway, I intend to soon make my club more active, and I've came up with a little game that I'll post there sometime.
Unrelatedly, if you like let's plays, or anything humorus for that matter, I suggest checking out Buttvault's let's play of a really bad pokemon Green translation. It was shown on pokememes and became pretty popular after that, and I want to share it. I'm linking the latest video in here, but if you have the time, I suggest watching all of them. It's THAT funny.
https://youtu.be/efFgN8ee5UU
Back on the topic of Halloween, it's actually kind of depressing nowadays. I don't see kids trick or treating anymore, not at houses. Parens all go to malls and stores taking their kids trick or treating. That's not fun. Because 'oh noes, we can't let our children go to strangers houses, they could be murderers or pedophiles, the world is so unsafe nowadays!" The world isn't any less safe than it used to be, the media is using scare tactics to make it seem like it is. Seriously, don't people know that most abusers of children are someone the child already knows, not some stranger on halloween? The only real danger on Halloween is OTHER KIDS, because they are so brutal. I always see smashed pumpkins =(
The saddest part is, the few kids that are allowed to go trick or treating door to door and driven by their parents. In cars. Seriously, what the hell? Is it that much of a trouble to walk a couple feet to each house? I actually went trick or treating with someone whose mom did that. It was lame. The whole fun of trick or treating as a kid is to go around exploring your neighborhood after dark, and yes, the walking part is FUN. Kids need a lot of excersize, they need to explore you shouldn't be denying kids that. All that energy from the candy needs to go somewhere.
The streets are so empty on halloween nowadays...I miss when there was people everywhere. Last year I went trick or treating with a friend (Yeah, so what? =p) and I hardly saw anybody else on the streets. It was saddening. Overprotective and lazy parents are ruining Halloween.

Halloween soon
General | Posted 14 years agoUnfortunately, I can't do anything for halloween this year, due to a combination of MS-related fatigue and a bad cold. It's sad because I love Halloween.
But I thought of doing something interesting. Namely, a Halloween contest for my club
meganefurs
I've never done a contest before, so I don't quite know what to do. I've already thought up the rules and possible prizes. I think the first 3 will be showcased in the meganefurs gallery, and the top winner would get a drawing of their character from me.
I'm not quite sure how to judge it though. Would just judging which ones I like best be immoral somehow? I want the focus of it not so much to be a "contest" but just to get people to have fun and draw things. So I think making it too competitive with judges and scores such would be a bad thing.
First off, would anyone be interested in entering? Second off, do you think it's okay if I just judge them myself and the ones I like the best wins?
Additionally, there's a Vocaloid song that always reminds me of Halloween for some reason. It is here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGw8o8B3_ps
Sorry I don't know how to put the youtube screen on FA journals. if anyone could tell me how to do that, that would be awesome.

MS sucks
General | Posted 14 years agoFor a while after my first episode I had been mostly fine. Though I had bear chronic fatigue as well as a while where I was haivng mood swings (which was very disconcerning for me because my mood tends to be pretty flagt and doesn't swing around) I also started to have muscle spasms in my back causing sharp pain, but by the time school started I was begining to feel better. I only had issues with my back once so far.
I feel it's getting worse now. I have had a constant headache for days. My wrists and hands are constantly feeling this dull pain. My fingers feel somewhat numb and I have trouble moving my pinky. My hands are extremely weak. This has happened before...around the time when I had my first episode where I had constant double vision and vertigo. I'm scared of that happening again.
It makes it difficult and painful to even play video games, and typing is more difficult. Drawing is completely out of the question. In fact, the original reason why I stopped drawing in the first place was because of these issues (which started around June last year) I have to wear wrist splints again.
I'm sure the teacher would laugh at me if I tell him I didn't do my homework because I can't hold a pencil long enough. He already scolded me for writing too lightly and my grade has suffered because he can't read my handwriting.
Right now I'm debating weather or not to go to class. Mostly because driving will be difficult in this state. But I know that if I miss 3 classes I will be dropped (stupid college policy) so I only want to miss classes if I'm really sick.
I'm absolutely terrified of how bad MS can get though. I mean, right now I live basically normal, just with some issues. But I hear stories of people who can't walk, or can't use their hands at all. People who can barely function both physically and mentally because of this disease. I don't want to become completely paralized and have to rely on other people just to simply live. I want to be independant and be able to work...
I should go to class. Maybe wearing the wrist splint might be proof enough for him to believe me.
EDIT: I decided to go to class. I'm glad I did because it turns out we had a lab exam that I totally forgot about. I had trouble with holding the minerals we had to examine but I managed to do it. Luckily we're off for the rest of the week and hopefully I'll be better by monday. I didn't mention the homework to him though. He's a decent teacher and all, but his personality is jerkish.

General | Posted 14 years agoIt's not 100% accurate, but good enough.

Understanding
You are willing to take the time to find out what's going on with other people, especially if they're in distress. You're a good listener, you don't criticize, and you offer unbiased, respectful, honest advice when it's requested. With a high score on the "understanding" trait, it is likely that you are enthusiastic about charitable work, helping others, and making the world a better place.
You don't feel the need to impose your standards on others or say things that, even though true, cause pain.
Passionate
You are in touch with your emotions, and sometimes you react before you think. The good news: you don't tamp down your feelings. The bad news: you sometimes say or do things that you later wish you could take back.
You do not live your life on an even keel; you do not go for long periods without experiencing some mood swings.
Introspective
You like your own company; you're a very interesting person. Tracking your own mental processes, knowing what you're thinking and why you do what you do, is important to you. Often, what's going on in your mind is more compelling than what's going on outside. For the most part, those with a high score on the "introspective" trait enjoy reading, taking long walks, learning new things, and other solitary activities.
You are not someone who is constantly looking to be among a group of friends; you never feel bored when you are by yourself.
Sympathetic
You have a knack for knowing what's going on in the hearts and minds of those around you, without their having to tell you explicitly. People tend to turn to you with their problems because they know you care, and that you will likely offer good advice and a helping hand.
You do not feel that people with sad stories are just looking for attention, or have brought their problems upon themselves.
Curious
You like to get to the bottom of things. You're not content knowing what someone did; you want to know why they did it.
You don't simply take things as they are and move on; you're not content skimming along on the surface; you don't feel you're wasting time by digging for the meaning of things.
Reserved
You are somewhat shy, or at least unwilling to spend all your time socializing. With you it's true that "still waters run deep," which is why many of your acquaintances never get to know you well.
You are not always ready to talk at the drop of a hat. Whether you're in the office or at a party, you're not likely to be found gabbing away in the middle of a group of people.
Abrasive
You are accustomed to rubbing people the wrong way; it's simply what happens when you express your opinions. In your opinion, there's nothing wrong with being controversial.
You don't have a "live and let live" attitude when it comes to other people whose opinions clash with yours; you see no reason to give the benefit of the doubt to someone who is just plain wrong.
Creative
You are good at solving problems, coming up with original ideas, and seeing connections between things, connections that most other people miss. People with a high score on the "creative" trait often are employed in such fields as finance and scientific research, and enjoy avant garde and classical music as well as literary fiction and scholarly non-fiction.
You do not shun abstractions and concepts in favor of the concrete and tangible.
Unsettled
You may be comfortable on your home turf, but you have a tendency to be self-conscious in an unfamiliar environment. While you're usually at ease with your friends, you can be a little skittish around strangers.
You usually don't feel at home in unfamiliar settings or with new people. When you get rattled, you don't necessarily recover instantly.
Pessimistic
You tend to be a "glass half-empty" kind of person, which for you is simply a realistic outlook. Your feeling is that this world can be a depressing place, and only a fool would think otherwise.
You do not waste your time searching for the silver lining in every cloud, nor do you believe it's your job to cheer up the people around you with happy talk.

Thinking about the past
General | Posted 14 years agoFirst off, I'm sorry I haven't uploaded things. One one hand my scanner no longer works, and another I can't bear to upload anything for fear of humiliation.
Lately I have been thinking obsessively about how things were. I don't like to talk about it a lot but it's constantly on my mind, being at it's worse when I was 12, getting better after that, but now getting worse again. I'd like to say that everything save for my health is fine. I just can't shake certain things that had happened. And I hate it. Because I want to be happy and make others feel happy and help them. I'm scared to talk about anything because I fear I'm going to be labeled as a whiny emo freak looking for pity...despite the fact that many people here are like 'ohh noes i'm depressed' when they are just sad and have no idea what real, clinical depression is like. I just don't know how to make these thoughs go away and maybe talking about it would help. I'd like to go into all the details, but I'm too afraid to.
Basically, I was constantly harassed in school, staring in pre school and stopping in 10th grade. This wasn't just regular teasing. It's said that 75% of people were bullied when they ere in school. I call BS in that. Everyone is called names sometimes, or treated poorly by peers. This is NOT bullying. That is teasing and that's something most people experience. But bullying is more severe, constant harassment that isn't just a couple rude comments about whatever thing. It's when you're ostracized from your entire class, your entire school, mocked for hours on a daily basis, treated like an outside by both peers and teachers. When you are harassed for so long and so often that you are brought to tears on a regular basis, when that is their INTENT, and they keep going, because the teacher punishes the victim, egging on the peers and even starting the abuse. Bullying is when no one, not the nurse, not the principal, not even your own parents believe you because the stories you tell are so far out there that most people CAN'T believe it. Bullying is something that causes severe and life long trauma...it changes your brain chemistry. Because of bullying I no longer know what it is like to feel enraged...something that I was in a chronic state of mind starting in first grade. My first memory of pre school is being led into a dark room that was out of sight and out of the way, shoved into a crate, and forgotten about for God knows how long, and being terrified of moving from it because those were the rules of the game and you weren't supposed to break rules. I always tried to be good, I never wanted any trouble, but they would intentionally try to set me off so that I'd get in trouble. I'd get calls home on a regular basis and punished at home, often for things I didn't do, and often for things that I did do...mainly crying. remember one instance where I was so frusterated that I accidentally snapped my pencil, and one half of it went flying backwards (I sat in the back of the classroom)...the teacher had told my dad that I threw a pencil at another student.
It had come to my attention that there are many things that I do not remember from 5th grade. I was told by my mother (who had learned to believe me after coming to pick me up from school and hearing the teacher SHOUTING at the class from the very end of the hallway...the very same teacher who told the students and their parents that she never yells.) that there was an incident where i physically attacked another student that almost got me thrown out and institutionalized. That is all that is known about it, but I know there's more to the story. This student dedicated their lives to make my life a living hell. The teacher didn't like me, and she played that up. She'd set me up on a regular basis by being cruel to me...then suddenly pretending to cry. The teacher would come over and punish me as if I was the one doing things to her. If she managed to bring me to tears...well, I'd get in trouble. This teacher was constantly harassing me, screaming at me, berating me, and humiliating me. Apparently she told my mother she thought I was acting out because of my father's recent death. She encouraged the bullies to gang up on me, and would bully me herself. All I ever wanted was to be left alone. As some people know I have Asperger's, which was undiagnosed at the time, her daughter was autistic. I believe she secretly hates her daughter and takes it out on students who are similar...I think this because I heard from someone who previously didn't believe me about this teacher, that their friend's son, who was also autistic, was treated in the exact same manner I described so many years ago.
As of now most of my experiences are a blur, and yet at the same time I re-live them constantly. I grind my teeth at night, causing serious and irreversal damage, because of the nightmares.
Anyone who has ever known me would know that I'm shy and quiet...and I've always been that way, even as a baby. Outside of school I was extremely well behaved and even somewhat cheerful...I got along with the other kids when I would go to beaches or places like Chuck E. Cheese and FunZone. Rarely did I cry or shout. This was not the case when I was in Elementary school because I was under so much stress from the harassment and abuse from teachers. I forgive my bullies, they were children and didn't know any better. But I hate teachers. The effects that my school experience had on me was extreme and I am 100% sure I would not have the problems I do now if it was not for what went on in there.
Middle School was hell, but that's not quite something I want to really talk about at all. Until then most of the harassment was all verbal, in middle it developed into physical violence, and sexual taunts. Though in both elementary and middle school, people stole things from me for the sole purpose of upsetting me. Until I was put in therapy, I became physically incapable of smiling. And it was only until I started college that I've became capable of smiling without forcing it.
High School wasn't that bad when it came to that kind of stuff. I had some teasing here and there, and someone broke into my locker and poured juice all over my stuff. But in general I just kept to myself and didn't speak a word. The issue I had with High School is that it treated kids like prisoners. Security cameras everywhere, locking bathrooms inbetween classes, no-pass days (where you weren't allowed to get a pass no matter what), hall sweeps (anyone in the hall the second the bell rang would get detention) , drug searches, arrests, bomb threats (all 3 happened in middle school too though) constant shouting by teachers...In middle and high school I basically blanked myself out to everything, I was physically there, but that was it. I thought all this normal, but I have people telling me that their schools weren't like that. I don't know what to think. I recently saw a documentary about schools...and all of it is correct.

I was treated badly in high school, but so was everyone else. Unlike elementary school I wasn't singled out, and I was old enough to not let things effect me so much. A lot of people seem to forget that childhood is a very important part of development and you generally don't have many coping skills at say 6, as opposed to 16.
No one ever noticed anything was wrong, either. Well, that's not true exactly. In elementary my parents were told that I had to be medicated for ADHD or else they wouldn't let me in. I do not have ADHD, and my parents knew it. They also knew all the harm those medications would do. We had to go through a bunch of stupid stuff to prove I didn't have it and go back to school. The conclusion by psychologists was 'there's something wrong here, but it's not ADHD.' and that was it. This happened twice, in first and 5th grade. Interestingly, those were the worst 2 years of my life. Once I became to depressed to do anything, I didn't get harassed as much. I guess as long as you sit still and shut up, it doesn't matter to them. Even though to anyone it should've been obvious that I was in a bad place and planning something...my mom saw it in my eyes when she went to visit me in school for some schedule thing. It was in 8th grade and that's when I got any sort of real help. And you have no idea how thankful I am for it. If I did not get help I would certainly have stayed so agrophobic that I wouldn't leave me house, develop into a breakdown whenever people did so much as laugh, though it's more likely I would've ended up in a psych hospitasl, if I didn't kill myself first. I'm very glad to be alive with a mother who actually gives a crap about me in a world where it's the norm to have heartless parents, and I'm doing pretty well for myself. That's why I don't understand why I can't just get over this.
I don't really know where I'm going with this...I guess maybe a lot of people just seem so ignorant about the kind of stuff that goes on in schools. My interest in psychology is directly linked to my childhood. I want to help children, and especially autistic children who have been abused and mistreated by their school system. I want people to open up their eyes and know just how much shit goes on behind closed doors. Teachers, especially tenured teachers have free reign on whatever they want to do. As long as they follow curriculim and aren't caught having sex or doing drugs with children, they are allowed to do anything, including bullying children. This has left me with issues clinical depression, social anxiety, and panic attacks, which, while under control most of the time, will never go away. And I know that there are others who have experienced similar things...and it's not right. Not right at all.
If you wish to post this in your journal, it's been requested that you title it "I'm afraid of 'X' out of 72 common fears".
If you get more than 30, I strongly recommend some counseling.
If you get more than 20, you’re paranoid.
If you get 10-20, you are normal.
If you get 10 or less, you’re fearless.
At least I'm normal apparently xD Aside from needles, my very top fears aren't on here though. Guess they aren't common enough.

General | Posted 14 years ago30 days video game meme
General | Posted 14 years agoEach day I'm gonna update my journal to answer one of these questions.
Day 1 - Your very first video game.
Technically, that would be Pac-Man when I was 3. But I actually consider Pokemon Red my first, since it was the first one that was mine (Birthday present, age 9) and that I played on a regular basis.
Day 2 - Your favorite character.
Otacon from Metal Gear Solid. He's the most realistic and loveable character I've ever seen in a game.
Day 3 - An underrated game.
Okage: The Shadow King. It's an early PS2 game about a boy who gets his shadow posessed by an evil king named Stan. Stan uses him as a means to get his evil power returned to him. It's a hilarious game with a bunch of weird and quirky characters.
As an honorable mention I want to say Gitaroo Man, This is the game that got me into the rhythm game genre, which as most know is now my favorite game genre.
Day 4 - Your guilty pleasure game.
I has trouble thinking of this one, but I eventually realized I have one. Guitar Hero/Rock Band. As I just said rhythm games are my favorite genre, it must sound surprising for me to say that. But it's the fact that I love rhythm games is why it's a guilty pleasure. While I like these games, I also at the same time, loathe them. And it's percisely my love of rhythm games why I hate them so much. I believe it's because of these that rhythm games are a dying genre. Because when people hear "rhythm game" they automatically think guitar hero and rock band, instead of Gitaroo Man and Space Channel 5. The quirky Japanese rhythm games have no market in America because of this.
Day 5 - Game character you feel you are most like (or wish you were).
The only one I could think of would be Shadow the Hedgehog. When I was younger I was a bit delusional, believing myself to actually be Shadow. Now that I'm older and mentally stable for the most part, I'm less Shadow-like. But we're still extremely similar.
Day 6 - Most annoying character.
That would probably be Flonne from Disgaea. She's so obnoxious. I used to hate her, but learned to like her just a tiny, tiny bit after Disgaea Infinite. I want to see her get cut up by Mao. I guess I'm kind of disturbed that way xDD. Anyway, she's still the most annoying.
Of course, if they used 'most hated' instead of 'most annoying', I'd have to go with Naomi from the MGS series.
Day 7 - Favorite game couple.
Snake x Otacon from the Metal Gear Solid series. It's the most canon noncanon couple I've ever seen.
Day 8 - Best soundtrack.
I really can't say. This is something I've thought about a lot. And I can never come to a conclusion. I think it would be a tie between Baten Kaitos and Final fantasy 10
However, there's also; We Love Katamari, Pokemon Red, Gitaroo Man, Megaman 2, and Sonic Adventure
Day 9 - Saddest game scene.
Probably in MGS2 where
*SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED IT*
Emma Emmerich dies and Otacon's reaction. It's both incredibly sad and epic at the same time.
Day 10 - Best gameplay.
Day 11 - Gaming system of choice.
Day 12 - A game everyone should play.
Day 13 - A game you’ve played more than five times.
Day 14 - Current (or most recent) gaming wallpaper.
Day 15 - Post a screenshot from the game you’re playing right now.
Day 16 - Game with the best cut scenes.
Day 17 - Favorite antagonist.
Day 18 - Favorite protagonist.
Day 19 - Picture of a game setting you wish you lived in.
Day 20 - Favorite genre.
Day 21 - Game with the best story.
Day 22 - A game sequel which disappointed you.
Day 23 - Game you think had the best graphics or art style.
Day 24 - Favorite classic game.
Day 25 - A game you plan on playing.
Day 26 - Best voice acting.
Day 27 - Most epic scene ever.
Day 28 - Favorite game developer.
Day 29 - A game you thought you wouldn’t like, but ended up loving.
Day 30 - Your favorite game of all time.
Day 1 - Your very first video game.

I-Con
General | Posted 14 years agoI'm glad to say that I will be going to I-Con this year. I didn't preregister so this is the first time I'm buying at the door though.
I wasn't so sure, what with my illness and depression, that I would be able to go.
But I think I'll be okay.
I hope to have fun.
P.S. Some of you may have noticed I deleted my gallery and only saved a few stuff into scraps. I was really depressed for a while and I absolutely hated most of my artwork. I felt it would be best to delete most of it. I'm feeling a bit better about my art, I've drawn a little bit. But I don't feel confident enough to do it as often or post any of it.
If any of you really want me to reupload a specific piece, you may ask about and I might reupload it.
I don't think I ever wanted to quit art. I just don't want to feel so down on myself all the time because of it.

Poem
General | Posted 15 years agoWe had to write poetry in my class today. I don't write poetry but I think what I wrote came out well so I decided to post it.
----
I remember the sky, that beautiful sky, that lens flare glare
I remember the drive, the unpaved road, we were in the middle of nowhere
I remember the sight, of seeing you for the first time, my friend
I remember the laughs, acting as if we knew each other all our lives
I remember the colors, the blues, the reds, the yellows
I remember the heights, those colors reached into the heavens
I remember the thrills, of being hundreds of feet in the air
I remember the wheel, from where you flipped off the entire park
I remember the morning, waking up early to beat the crowds
I remember the firewater, what the hell was that anyway?
I remember the coaster, finally riding Millennium Force for the first time
I remember the best time of my life.

1. I wonder how different I would be had I actually been diagnosed earlier, and got to be in a school more fitting for me. I think my childhood would be happier, but I wouldn’t have the knowledge and strength I do now.
2. I worry for the future. Everyone does I know, but I’m afraid of becoming unable to work due to the effects of MS.
3. The awfulness of America’s school system, especially how they let teachers get away with things. It seems people turn a blind eye to mistreated children.
4. I’m quite thankful for the good things in my life.
5. There are several things I should be doing, but for some reason I just keep procrastinating.
6. How come most people don’t see what I feel is clearly obvious?
7. Why are most people in basically any anime fandom so stupid?

1. Talk nerdy to me xD
2. Accept me for who I am: I don’t desire to spend a lot of time with people, so don’t expect me to do that with you. And I –will- be honest with you, even if that means saying harsh things. I am also asexual, learn to deal with it.
3. Intelligence and logic are key.
4. Be quirky/odd. I can’t stand people who are too normal. I also have AS, so basically that means I’m backwards, thus, only the weirdest of people can understand me, and I can only understand weird people.
5. Be good at video games.
6. Share my interests.
7. Don’t be an ass. Be kind and understanding.
8. Be a bit awkward/geeky.

1. H.: I know we both know I’m still upset about what happened in the past, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t see you as the better person you are today. Please remember that.
2. J: You don’t know me. Stop pretending that you do. Every single thing that you do to try and better things only makes them worse. And stop being so damn clingy, it’s annoying as hell. I wish you’d let me be alone sometimes. I prefer it. You penalize me for accepting my flaws; something you cannot do yourself. You also singlehandedly killed my good mood. Nice job breaking it “hero”.
3. I: I really wish we could be closer friends. I wasn’t upset about not going to Coney Island. I was upset that I couldn’t go with you.
4. A: I miss you a lot. I often wonder what you’re doing right now. You were my first real friend and have helped me so much. You say I haven’t changed at all but if you took the time to get to know me again, you’d realize you were wrong. I know you’re very different now, which is why we can’t be close again. You have other friends. It took time, but I can move on now.
5. E: I wish I could know what you really think of me. My guess is that you probably think I’m creepy. It would be understandable. It’s probably really obvious that I’ve had a crush on you since 6th grade, and still do. All I want is for us to be good friends, like we were back then.
6. # I still hate you for what you’ve done. I could’ve let you destroy me, but that’s what you would’ve wanted. No, I’ve risen above it all. My goal in life will be to help children who have been destroyed by despicable people like YOU. I know it’s not just me; you’ve ruined parts of countless other children’s childhoods. How can you live with yourself, constantly bullying an already unstable little 11-year-old child with AS whose father had JUST died? Why couldn’t you have just left me alone? I can’t believe you haven’t been fired yet. You put on a nice face but even my mom learned you to be a liar. Just because you have an autistic child doesn’t mean you pick on people who are similar! I wish you the slowest and most painful death. And I want to do it with my own hands.
7. # There’s nothing I can do to show you how thankful and grateful I am to you. You’ve been so nice to me; you are one of two people who actually take their role as a mother seriously. I don’t think there is a better mother than you. You’re awesome, I love you so much.
8. B: You’re annoying. But you’re also the nicest person I’ve ever met. You let me be myself. You’re willing to sacrifice a lot for me. You’re always there for me no matter what. You believed in me when no one else would. You don’t start shit with me. I still don’t quite know how I see you, weather a mate or a friend. I’m worried if it ends up the latter, you’ll be devastated, which is why I don’t think about it much. In the end though, it doesn’t really matter. We support each other through everything. You’re very important in my heart. I hope that whatever happens in the future, we can still be close. I’m glad I met you; you have all the qualities of a very very wonderful person.
9. M: I hope one day, that you will be diagnosed with schizophrenia, because maybe then, you will get some real help. I hate to see you suffer like you do. I want you to have a productive life. But if you keep acting the way you do, your only future will be in a hospital. Forever.
10. # If it weren’t for you, I’d be the one in the hospital. Thank you for being the only teacher at that place to notice. Thank you for your support back then. I wish there were more teachers like you. You were strict, but you legitimately cared about your students. It’s because of you that I am able to do presentations. It may be because of you that I’m even alive now. I hope you’re still teaching.

So dizzy...
General | Posted 15 years agoMy vision seems to be back completely. But I can't enjoy it because for the past few days I've been feeling incredibly dizzy and nauseous to the point where I can barely stand. I'd rather have double vision that feel this sick, I can't go to school like this.
And the pain/inability to bend pinky has moved to my right hand. I basically am unable to hold anything in my hand (You'd never think brushing your teeth would be a challenge...) it's been improving though, so I think I'll be ok.
I'm going back to the (good) neurologist tomorrow for a follow up thing. Hopefully he'll give me medicine for this awful vertigo, I know last time this happened my doctor gave me something last time that happened a couple months ago. Though after all that's happened, I wonder if that vertigo spell had nothing to do with hitting my head and was the first sign of MS?
I feel even worse than I did before. I mean, the steroids seemed to fix my vision, the fatigue, and depression, but caused muscle problems, pain, dizzyness, nausea, and headaches. It temporarily fixed the tremors but they are back, and made my sensitivity to light worse. I still feel weak too.
Either way I'm confident that I'll get better. Just...ugh, I feel so sick. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? I've been eating bread/yogurt and drinking gingerail and it seems to help my stomach. Night time is great because I can turn off the lights. But the day is horrid because my blinds don't keep out the sun and it gives me this terrible headache.
I feel like I'm complaining but I really do feel horrid. And yet at the same time, incredibly thankful that we have the means to get to doctors and such...

Another update
General | Posted 15 years agoSo the IVs are done. They were unpleasant so I'm glad it's over. I'm feeling very sick and tired, probably a side effect of the steroids. My latest symptom, the trembling of my hands, is a lot better now. I still can't see, but I feel like it's gotten better, like, closer to how it was at the begining (as it seems to have gotten worse over time.) More side effects is that my stomach is all upset so I'm eating light foods, I'm incredibly weak and my heart is beating like crazy. I think I'll feel a lot better when that stuff subsides.
On a bad note, something new happened. I seemed to have somehow injured the tendons in my left arm. My arm/wrist hurts and I have trouble moving my pinky. So I have to wear a wrist brace thing now. *sigh* It's always something...

Anyone watch americas got talent? xD
General | Posted 15 years agoI feel like such a loser because I watch that show orz
But I can't believe Micheal Grimm won. He was the only one who didn't have any talent. I thought the finalist were gonna be fighting gravity or little opera singer girl (forget her name, she was amazing though) either of those to win > prince poppycock (<3) 3rd > micheal grimm 4th
But noo, he won a million dollars + an act in vegas and he can't sing or perform for crap. He's boring. I know Americans are stupid, but seriously? Why did they like him? They should've voted for someone who had major talent (ie. all the finalist BUT him)
Okay, so on to things that actually matter. I went for my first day of IV treatment with the nice doctors. They really know what they are doing. It hurt, but it wasn't as bad as i expected. I got Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: explorers of sky to play while I was there but I was getting frusterated because I kept losing at the 3rd dungeon the entire time I was there xD
This one lady was really nice. I broght my AG Bear with me for comfort, and she brought up Teddy Ruxpin. I told her about my collection and will bring it one of them on Friday.
As for effects of steriods, my tremors seem to be getting better, they aren't gone but I can hold my hands a lot steadier now. Somehow I'm not depressed anymore. I don't know how or if it's the steriods that affected that but it's true. I mena I'm not -happy- but I'm not all baaw all the time. So it's really nice to feel like myself at least a little bit again. I feel even more tired, and have a sick feeling and my lungs feel heavy. But I think that stuff will pass. My double vision is still there, but I'm getting used to the prisms. I think even if it doesn't cure the double vision, I should be alright with the prisms, even if theya re a pain. I really, really hope that it does though.

Things are looking better (also Vdex)
General | Posted 15 years agoThe prisms for my glasses came in today. I was supposed to get them a long time ago but the manufactuerers were stupid or something. Anyway, it's amazing to be able to see one image again. The image is distorted (Kinda like looking through a fish eye lens) But it's way better than barely being able to see at all. Coming back from the place, I was actually seeing the cars in their proper lane instead of in the middle of the road while my mom was driving. I can't use it for the computer because the light reflects on it and glares it up so I can't see, but that doesn't matter since I don't need it for the computer anyway. Lights in general are hard to look at. Again, though, at least I can see now. So I'm really happy. Also they look kinda cool, there are grooves going down vertically so it looks like my glasses are broken xD
On the way back I saw a Halloween store opening, so of course I had to go. It was huge. There was a whole bunch of stuff. Way better than any other store I've been to. They had this awesome werewolf costume that I want, so I might get that if I don't finish finding stuff for my Undertaker cosplay by then. Speaking of which, I found a scythe that is closer to the undertaker's scythe than the one I already have, so I got that. All I need to do it paint the stick white. I also got this awesome cat pen that when you press on it, it meows and shines a blue light.
My favorite part of the store, however, was that they had a section dedicated entirely to large halloween animatronic props. They were so awesome. My mom said they were creepy but I thought they were amazing. There was one I really wanted (it was an undead looking vampire thing with claws that quickly lunges forward and makes noise and eyes light up red and stuff) but we don't have any room for it. It was only like $136 too. Of course, it seemed to be cheaply made. It looked really good but I checked it out and the inside is basically made of wire and plastic servos. So it probably isn't very durable. Some of the stuff out for display was broken too. But still, it was great, it was like visiting an amusement park. I wanna go there again just so I can go and see them xD (Bah I'm such a nerd. They make a lot of noise so I worry about bothering the people there too)
Because I haven't ben able to do much I found this cool pokemon browser game called Vdex Project. It's really fun and addicting and has helped give me something to do and help me fight the depression. It would be great if I could have some more friends there. I bring this up because I got one of the rarest pokemon in the game (Houndour btw, yeah, I know thats odd.) through a mystery egg (the only way to get it besides trading), and it was the first time ever getting a mystery egg. So yeah. All that stuff made me feel a lot happier and more hopeful for the future. This was the first good day I've had for like 3 months.
