Gallery purge update #1
General | Posted 2 years agoToday I have chosen to purge a few of my images and the like - most of them were in the folder, but one or two I realised may still count. Not all of them have been purged yet, mainly because while I am still unsure if they are, I am slightly confident that they may be acceptable.
Trouble Ticket Time has ran out... The purge begins.
General | Posted 2 years agoI'm sorry to say this, but time has indeed ran out. It's the 1st of June here, and I've still yet to hear a response from my Trouble Ticket. True, it may be that the title of the ticket I had put the date of the change to today and not next month, and I have seen that others have finally got responses, but I've waited and gave them nearly two weeks for a response - most of my other trouble tickets were replied to more quickly than that, and I know they had been swamped with requests so I gave them more time - and my patience has sadly ran out
As such, I will be beginning a purge of my gallery of anything I feel may fall under the upcoming rules, and will repost them on other sites. I do have four sites I may use with accounts made, those being InkBunny, Itaku, Weasyl and SoFurry - however, I have yet to, as of the writing of this journal, begun the process of moving my art to them.
I am not going to fully leave FurAffinity though, as I still will be keeping an eye on those artists who I watch on here for uploads that I like, but my own uploads here will be more limited, if any.
The whole way they handled the update to the Upload Policy is a bit of a mess, I will admit. And that's not going into what I have heard happened on the Discord side of things. Not that I was on their Discord... And I will never be on there.
Also, I was musing about getting FA+ before this whole thing, but because I'm basically limiting my presence here, it'll be a waste of money.
Personally, I believe FA had shot themselves in the foot, and while they did try to stop the bleeding, they didn't do it right and the leg in question is now weakened. This may not kill FA like how a certain ban killed Tumblr, but it has heavily wounded the site with quite a few artists moving out - and while not much of one myself, I too will be moving out of FA as my main art posting account.

General | Posted 2 years agoThis is it. The next 24 hours will determine how things will go - if my trouble ticket is replied to before the end of today, then I'll use that to help sort out things. But if I don't get a response today, then my patience will have run out, and thus I will make the assumption that all of the art in question are against the new UP update.
Although I honestly don't understand why they are doing it - they never stated in said UP about the exceptions to the rules. And also, as I noted before, how can you age up a species which is naturally a 'cute' size which may appear childlike without ruining what makes them look like them?
I am making preparations in case I don't get a reply because no reply will mean I may be looking at other sites to host future artwork.

Thankfully, the exclusions aren't going to be altered that early. But thinking about it... Those exclusions weren't stated in the Upload Policy to begin with, from what I remember.
And this update isn't affecting me... But it hasn't stopped the clock on waiting for their replies to the ticket. So again, unless they let me know before then... June 1st is when I will make the educated assumption.

General | Posted 2 years agoOkay, with the new 'clarifications' FA just gave, I need to get a bit more off my chest.
So, let's start with the TL;DR version:
1) The rule isn’t new and hasn’t changed.
2) This does not affect SFW content.
Indeed, the rule isn't new, and only affects NSFW content. That I can agree upon.
3) Enforcement is being expanded to include Pokémon and Digimon.
Why just those two? And why not others, like My Little Pony? It seems a little Sus that you're just targeting those two big names - or one really big name and one which is somewhat of one.
4) Short characters are not being impacted.
I dunno, what you said earlier seems to imply the other way.
5) Minors involved in SFW or non-sexualized interests, such as vore and transformation, are allowed.
Uh... There are kinds of Vore which ARE more sexual, like Breast Vore and Unbirth. Same with transformations.
Now onto their longer stuff.
"enforcement was never taken against the Pokémon or Digimon in sexual content that look like children or cubs although they violated the rules" - if they had violated the rules, then why didn't you enforce them? And don't say about them being an exception until now: if it was an exception, it wasn't breaking the rules due to said exception.
"If the character has no difference from birth to elder, you will have to draw them non-canon for them to be acceptable in sexual situations" - So what, if a species is born looking like an adult, then it's okay for them to be sexulized even when they're too young?
"If you have questions as to whether your content is allowed, please open a Trouble Ticket under “General > Question About Site Policy” with a link to the content in question and we will provide you with an answer" - I'm still waiting for a reply to my enquiries, and while I can wait a bit, I can't wait forever. If I haven't heard by the end of this month (which gives FA a week to reply) then I will assume the answer is that all of the art would be invalid, and thus I will begin a purge.
"for 90 days after July 1st, all violations of UP 2.7 will NOT be escalated as severe offenses and will instead be treated as normal rules violations" - and what if you, say, forget to check someone's posts until 91 days after the new policy comes into affect, and they had not posted anything within that period that would had caused issues but their old art does? Personally any art which was okay before the update, so long as it was posted before the update, should remain just a normal rule violation. And also, what if someone made a violation of that rule during those 90 days which would had violated the rules before the update? Do those ones also get the same slap on the wrist instead of the major punishment they should get?!?
I'm going to wait until either I get a response to the trouble ticket, they make yet another update... Or June 1st. But the way things are going, the iceberg may have already been hit, and the staff may have no idea the ship is about to sink much like Tumblr did when they did the NSFW ban, but for different reasons.
If I don't hear anything before then, as I said, I will assume the worst, and will begin archiving and purging my gallery, while moving some of my art that I had gotten to other sites. And it may mean the Year of the Dragoness may end early as a result, along with my other themed months

First off, the "additional clarification" the staff gave:
"NO, there is no blanket ban across species."
> Then why are certain staff members referring to Mew as an embryo? True, I'm possibly missing context there, but still.
"NO, there is no list of species that we will always take action on."
> Yeah, right. More like a list of species that if someone post art of which is marked mature or adult, you'd focus on them quickly.
"YES, characters in your NSFW art must be aged up."
> And how can you age up a Riolu without making them look more like a Lucario?
"NO, simply making something bigger or smaller does not indicate age.*
> True, size doesn't matter. I know someone in real life who has dwarfism, and just because he would only come up to maybe my waist, I know he's old enough. So I do agree somewhat with this.
"We look at anatomy proportionally alongside other context in submissions."
> And yet you also ignore any context the description gives from what I heard.
Second, my worries had led to me making a gallery segment for all the art I feel may be at risk. I may not had caught them all, but the main ones I have put in said segment, and I am hoping for clarification as to which ones are fine and which aren't.
Thirdly, I decided to dust off my unused SoFurry account and preparing it for use as a new place to post artwork, just in case.
Finally, I will admit this has been a bit of a mood killer for me. And the fact they only decided to make the guide after they mentioned about the policy changes is... Well, I would had preferred it before. At least we have a month to sort things out.

Musing about the policy update.
General | Posted 2 years agoWith the upcoming policy update, I am a little worried. While my characters are always adults, I am worried that some of them, mainly the Eevee based ones which was my older form for Auro, may count as being too young in terms of looks.
Also, I am not sure if this would also apply to stories - and if so, I'm a little worried about some of the stories I had posted may also fall foul of the ruling.
As such, I do plan on, once I know if certain characters may count as looking too young, removing them from FA should they be NSFW.
...Also, this does make me a little worried about unbirth-TF content with regards to the 'birthing' stuff... And while I'm not into it, I don't know if the ban will also include ABDL content.
Also, I am not sure if this would also apply to stories - and if so, I'm a little worried about some of the stories I had posted may also fall foul of the ruling.

Cydney Poll update #2
General | Posted 2 years agoAfter about a week of voting, I have decided to end the poll now, and I have made my decision.
All I will say right now is this: while we do have a clear winner, I am not going to announce that just yet. Instead, I will announce that the option with the least support is the femsuit that my human self could wear to become her. And one voter ended up being more or less the key voter that determined the middle two results, as without their vote, what has come second would had come third and vice versa.
But while Cydney won't be a femsuit that I wear... That doesn't mean I won't still wear Cynder femsuits. In fact, literally today, a piece I had been waiting on finally finished, and I plan to post that this coming weekend. So you can look forward to that, along with a few other pieces, in the near future.

However, it's hard to tell if people will prefer Cydney being a new form that Auro/Aurora can become, or if she should be her own character. Personally, despite the heavy leaning towards Cydney being her own character in the poll compared to all the other options, enough votes were cast to have Cydney be a new form of Aurora or the like that I've decided to make a second poll. But unlike the last one, where you could only choose one option, here you can rate all the provided options.

Fans Choose the Suiting Results!

As such, I can now tell you the results of the polls.
For image style, half of you had voted for the two panel version with additional internal panels, which has been taken into account - along with the fact that over 60% of you chose an option with an internal view. As such, I have chosen an image option that is the best of both worlds - based on the style of https://www.furaffinity.net/view/40544764/, where there will be both an internal view and an internal panel to help show what the internal view may not easily show.
As for the species, the Wheel did a bit of an upset. While Nidoqueen was in the lead with 13 of you choosing her, one of the two second placed options, despite only having 9 votes herself, ended up not only surviving the elimination spins alongside Nidoqueen and the fourth placed Dragonair, but when it came to the spins to win, Delphox was the first to get the three spins needed to win and be chosen.
But that does not mean Nidoqueen is out fully - as I will either sort out a second version with a Nidoqueen suit to be done after the winning suit is done, or my next suiting commission will involve me being sealed inside of either Mistress Nina or the Dronesuit based on her.
And while it only just barely made the cut to the top six but was knocked out during the elimination spins, because there was enough love for Ninevetal during this poll, I will end up in a suit based on them in time for Aurvetty Month.
...Also, as an aside... I'm curious about your thoughts about if I should remain as Cydney or not once the year is over... But she will be kept regardless.

Moving Update, and plans for 2023
General | Posted 3 years agoJust as an update, but I am currently back with my parents in their new home, and I am looking for a place of my own to rent nearby, but searching has been slow for the time being.
Also, I slightly lied about not getting any more commissions, as a few ideas and the like did reach my mind. Although the main one that's going to affect 2023 for me the most...
Well, I had made a wager with my online mistress, with the wager that whomever loses will have to accept one year's worth of profile play in a sense that their main OC becomes that of the winner's choice, but the loser can have some elements of their old self in the form they're going to be for the year. And, well... I lost the bet, but thankfully we agreed not to start things until 2023 so that art and the like could be obtained. And now that all the art we need for now is ready, and one piece teasing it has been posted on my end, while the other pieces are posted by the artists...
...Aurora is going to be transformed into Cydney 'Cyndi' Lucias, a form based on Cynder from the Legend of Spyro games. And most of the art I'm going to be getting for 2023 has to be of her in some way. I can still get the odd suiting piece of my human self, but other than that, 2023 will be my Year of the Dragoness.

General | Posted 3 years agoWell, this month will mark the end of a chapter of my life, because sometime during this month, I will be beginning the process of moving out from the place where my grandparents used to live, after how last December the last of my grandparents passed away, bless his soul. And the place that he lived in, which I have been living in on and off for the past 30-odd years, sometimes as a guest, sometimes actually living here, and recently to look after him, then the place when he moved into respite care before he moved on to the next great adventure up in the sky... Well, it's finally being sold off, and completion for that is set for the end of the week after next. And after that, my parents will be moving into a new place using their half of the funds they'd get from the sale (the other half heading over to my uncle) and I'd likely be living with them for a while, during which I look for a place to rent to live near where they live.
As such, my online activity will be lessened come around about the 8th of this month, as after then, the internet here will be closed, and as such, I won't be able to do much online until I have my new place. Also, during this time I won't be able to work on commissions (although I will admit the one I was trying to work on I've hit such a severe mental block on it that I've decided to stop it and have sorted out stuff with the commissioner regarding it) until my home situation is more stable.
I will also not be getting any new commissions while I'm moving, so it's unlikely that I'd be getting any new artwork barring one piece still in the works. But I'll try to keep you all updated about the move as it progresses.

And yes, there's no Yveltal stuff for this month, at least as of the writing of this journal, and it's unlikely that I will get any partly as I'm holding out for Splatoon 3's release in just a few days' time.

Birthday arriving and Aurvetty Month postponed for 2022
General | Posted 3 years agoWell, it's but two weeks until my birthday as of the time of writing this journal, and I will admit, with how things are IRL (I'm currently in the middle of waiting for a move to happen) things have been a bit rough. And as such, I will admit that I don't really know what I'd want to get for my birthday if anything - a certain game I would want doesn't come out until AFTER my birthday, and there's not much else I may wish for so far.
Also, due to the move and such, Aurvetty Month is being postponed for this year. I just haven't had the funds to get the commissions for it that I used to do the last few years.

Pokésuit Pet RP Server, ran by SilverFox

SilverFox56 out with their relatively new Pokésuit Discord RP server. You can find more details by following this link, but you can either decide to be an Observer or a Pet - the latter would start as a Bottom Pet, and will have to earn their way up the ranks.

General | Posted 3 years agoSome of you might remember that I had been talking about a friend who's been having troubles with their old home.
Well, there's been some new details about what has been happening there, and in one way, it's got worse, but in another, it's better in the sense that if things continue the way they had, everyone living at the place would have to move out.
More details can be found at https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10278625/ but I will say this - while I can't afford to help them out myself (partly as my own move's in progress, and I need to save up for stuff to get after the move) I still can spread the word about their situation in the hopes that people will be able to help them out.

- one of my best friends, and their mate - are having issues which are likely to lead to them moving out of their rental place.
Now, I can't do much, due to being across the pond and in the middle of a move myself, but what I can do is let you guys know about it, and also link the journal in question that Ele's put up to help try and get assistance for these two.
All I will say is this: I wouldn't recommend their landlord to anyone.

Or end up suited in a Pokésuit instead, even though said suit would be part of our prize if we win. And with their most recent one, they have set up a poll where the audience can vote to help one of the players, hinder another and mess with the luck of a third.

Ares_the_lionboi who is the locky person to get me to 1k - true, there's no big prize as such other than my thanks - and as such, it's time I celebrate with a few things, including posting commissions that I've gotten in the past, but never managed to post before now.
Also, I will let you know that the story is delayed a bit due to the writer being unwell right now, but that, among other things, will be things I'll be posting soon to celebrate the 1k milestone.
Sadly, I don't have any funds on hand to do anything major for the milestone, BUT. I am offering one lucky watcher not only a free colouration commission of one of BD's templates but also a Kingdom Hearts-style Player Health Bar to go along with it!

1k watcher update (almost there!)
General | Posted 3 years agoWell, nearly hit the 1k mark, and I will admit, the story may take a while before it comes out, but I'm going to make damn sure it gets done soon. I've decided to close the poll and use the results to decide what's going to happen to me in the story. And I must say, it'll be very kinky~
In the meantime though, I do have some art I will be posting around when I hit 1k, including a new gift art for my mate, a new character which is part-owned by my Mistress, even if she's not 100% sure how to use her, and at least one or two new forms for Aurora.
In fact, I'm going to do a little bonus. For the next 24-48 hours, I'm going to let you guys make suggestions as to which of BD's Templates I should use next as one of Aurora's forms.
