Old story apology
General | Posted a year agoI don't know how many of you read an old story of mine called Plum Creek. It was from around 2012 and I deleted it a few years back out of embarrassment, but I feel like I owe an explanation and apology for even writing it in the first place. Even if less than 50 people probably even read it, I don’t care, it’s weighing on my mind and I want to get it off my chest.
It was a very short story about a minor historical event (at least I hope it was, more on that later) on August 27th 1867, where native Americans attacked a supply train bound for the trans-continental railway that was under construction. My one and only source of information for this was the Seven Wonders of the Industrial World docudrama made by the BBC in 2003. I love it, it's quite well produced and acted, and the narrator is excellent, I recommend it. One of the most memorable scenes of the entire series was a re-enaction of the aftermath of the Plum Creek attack. The director and/or the head of music and sound design for the episode clearly has a secret passion for horror that they were eager to sneak into the show, because it's extremely haunting and chilling, with the music especially able to thrill me so much that I'm loathe to watch the scene in a dark room alone at night. It really made an impression on me when I was young and for some reason I wanted to see if I could basically transcribe the entire story to see if I could come close to achieving that same atmosphere with my writing, my first crack at pseudo-horror, I suppose. It was a good test for myself, but I shouldn't have publicly posted it, because here's the thing. I didn't do any research at all to see if it was true, or if all the details were correct, or whether there was any nuance or a second side to the story that I was missing. I was just taking the BBC's word for it that it was completely correct, because why would they lie? It's a documentary about actual history, how could it be biased or misleading or incorrect? (...lol)
So today I was watching a Shaun video where he talks about and utterly debunks a video by an alt-right dickhead I wasn't familiar with called Stefan Molyneux. Here it is, it's quite good, just like all Shaun's videos; I'd reccomend his channel highly for anyone looking for a mix of interesting history and leftist content: https://youtu.be/Xd_nVCWPgiA?si=y0YbnXzDmz1JdQVa and it struck me just how little I know about the history of the native Americans, and what a shockingly raw deal they got. His factual recounting of the Sand Creek massacre, where US soldiers did dreadful things to a peaceful and innocent tribe of native Americans because they wanted to kill them all and steal their land, is just hideous. While Stefan flatly refuses to acknowledge that a genocide of the natives even took place (hence, dickhead).
And it made me think back on that story and a comment I got on it soon after posting it. See, I was going off the narration of the documentary for the details of the history, because again, it was my only source and I just assumed it was unbiased and accurate. And one of the lines was "The Sioux and Cheyenne were two of the most war-like tribes in America", which I copied directly. I actually misspelled both those tribes because I had never seen them written before! It's so embarrassing in hindsight how woefully uninformed I was to think I could write on this topic. I saw one documentary, with one scene that lasted less than five full minutes, and I thought I was an expert. So cringe! Anyway, I got some comments saying that describing the tribes as war-like was offensive. They correctly pointed out that the natives weren't waging a war, they were defending themselves from an invading army that wanted to kill them and steal their land. And I was like "hey, don't look at me, I'm just quoting from the documentary!" Which is true, but isn’t a great excuse.
Anyway, watching that Shaun video today, and then going back to rewatch the documentary, I noticed a few things with fresh eyes. They're not especially keen on portraying the US workers and soliders as an invading force, but rather as an innocent bunch of railway workers who were just trying to build a railway to link both coastlines of the emerging nation, who got attacked along the way for no reason by a hoard of savages. I'm exaggerating a bit there. I won't say the documentary wasn't sympathetic to the natives and it does offer some quotes from captured natives, and plays some sad music when describing the ultimate fate of the natives in the path of the railroad, it's clearly trying to lean more in favour of their point of view. But ultimately, it's a documentary about an industrial wonder. Industry has to take favour, because it's the ultimate achievement that the documentary was created to celebrate, so it inevitably has to put the issue of the natives aside and try to put it out of your mind as fast as possible before the ending of the episode.
It took me this long in my life to realise that the BBC (in 2003, but quite possibly still today) weren't some impartial organisation just trying to teach history through the fun medium of a docudrama. They're the official media channel for an imperialist nation, describing the actions of another imperialist nation as delicately as they can, because it’s not too far removed from their own nation’s history and world view. They don’t want to dwell too much on the actions of the US people and government at this time in history, because the UK is most certainly not blameless when it comes to imperialist crimes, so if they took too many jabs at the US in this regard, people would start to say “Oi. Glass houses, mate”. So there’s an inevitable bias in the way they tell the story, which I was simply too naive and uneducated to spot back in 2003-2012.
So, time to wrap up. If anyone here remembers reading the original story, my apologies! For all others, er, thanks for reading! If you’d like some video essays where there aren’t a lot of visuals and you can just casually listen to something while you do something else, give Shaun’s channel a look! His essay about the atomic bombing of Japan is a must-listen if you’re a history buff, and he’s done some great stuff on other more pop cultural stuff like Harry Potter and how Andrew Tate is a wanker (I watched that one with my parents! It prompted a great conversation about masculinity!). So yeah, enjoy! And thanks for reading!

Backing up my FA submissions, you should too
General | Posted a year agoAfter the permanent depression induced by 2020, I stopped cleaning out my submissions regularly, and they backed up to over 50,000. But spurred by the events of the last fortnight or so I've managed to get it down to 18k and decreasing. Surprising how fast you can clear them out when you remove 48 at a time, opening the ones you want to save or comment on in a new tab, then switching to clearing out those tabs after you get about 15 or so of them together so they don't pile up.
Caution though, going through thirty thousand furry images, even if you're only glancing through the thumbnails, will leave you insanely horny. Keep a tight leash on yourself, don't let yourself send any creepy messages to friends, begging them to visit and maybe sit on you, stuff like that :P If any of my mutuals are noticing a lot of thirsty comments on suspiciously old submissions coming from me, in reverse chronological order, this is why!
The reason I'm doing all this, I'm sure you can guess, is that Project 2025 nightmare future that the US seems to be headed towards. One of the first things they'll try to do is shut down all the porn, and one of the first kinds of porn they'll try to shut down will be us furries. FA's servers and employees are all based in the US, so even if they host in another country, the employees are still engaging in criminal activity in a worst case scenario. It's got me a tad worried.
Now I'm not saying you need to be as drastic as I'm being and try and save all your favourite porn from an insane number of backlogged submissions. But I know for a fact there's people out there who don't save their own commissions from artists. They just fave them or bookmark them and trust in them to always be there. This is, frankly, stupid, even without a looming dystopia. Artists are temperamental. They wipe their accounts and start again, or don't and leave the fandom. I've seen people complain about losing commissions this way because they had the work (which they paid for) faved and not saved. Don't let this be you! Back up all your commissions to storage that you control, immediately.
As for Luvtail news, I'm currently unemployed, hence all the time I have to save all the inflation and macro porn I want :P But I've also taken up the hobby of woodworking by joining my local Men's Shed, and it's been a lifesaver. Can't tell you what it's done for my mental health to be making things with my hands, learning fun new skills, trying out tools I can't afford and don't have the space for, and being able to help out like-minded people in my community with my time and labour. It's great. To anyone struggling for social interaction, a sense of purpose or community, I'd suggest looking for Men's Sheds in your area!
Good luck everyone. Fingers crossed that this nightmare future of a second Trump term doesn't come to pass.

It's just "Luvtail" now!
General | Posted 2 years agoI just want everyone to know that I'm ditching the "Aussie" part of my character/fursona/online persona's name. It's just Luvtail from now on!
A little bit of history for those that don't know. When I first discovered the furry fandom it was in 2008 via a forum for an American webcomic called Concession by Immelmann, and shortly after I made a Furaffinity. I first toyed with "Mriya" which was the name of the Antanov AN-225: the largest aircraft in the world until it was sadly destroyed in the Ukraine war. But that was a rubbish idea because it was too hard to spell/search, and it was also foolish to base my identity around the name of a foreign plane I'd never even see, so I went with "Aussie" because at the time I was the only Australian on that very small forum, or certainly the most active one. After attending my first furry convention however (MidFur, January 2012) and I introduced myself as "Aussie", the response was invariably "Aussie who?" I should have realized earlier that this name wouldn't work well in my own country, but I didn't even realise that there was such a big Australian furry scene until 2012. So I came up with the name Luvtail, but because at the time I was attached to the nickname Aussie I didn't want to ditch it entirely, so I made it a surname rather than just my name. It was a silly decision, I should have just transitioned completely straight away, but lesson learned.
So from now on I'll just go by Luvtail. That's my fursona name, what you can call me in person, and the name of my fursuit(s). I would of course love to change my Furaffinity name as well, I'm still (slightly) holding out hope that they'll someday introduce a name change feature. In the meantime though I've made a Luvtail account here, just to prevent someone else stealing the name out from under me. I suppose I should probably abandon this account and start uploading there instead, but I... don't want to, lol. It's just so much hassle to migrate all my watches across, even if I didn't decide to upload my entire collection of art from this account and the old Mriya account in chronological order, which would be a nightmare since there's easily more than a thousand of them by now (14 years of buying commissions will creep up on you!) And even if I did it would still be a shame to delete this account and lose my history of notes and favs and of course all the lovely comments people left at the time, some of whom are sadly no longer alive. I'll stick with this account for now, out of apathy if nothing else.
In terms of life updates, it was my birthday yesterday, I'm 32 now! I'm working on a story that will hopefully be ready for Halloween this year, it's up to 25K words so far and will probably get close to 30K by the time it's done. I'm actually considering putting it up on Gumroad with some special unreleased art I've commissioned from EmiTheGoat to sweeten the deal, so let me know what you think about that! I don't have Patreon and probably never will, so a one off purchase seems like the fairest way, it also allows me to give a percentage to the artist and give them some extra revenue on top of what I paid for her art; this isn't about making money for myself.
Happy birthday I guess, and thanks for reading!

Cosplay is not consent (just a general rule for any kind of convention), so always ask for a hug or a touch while in suit! I won't say no so long as you ask! I'm a big hugger of course. You can hug my tail but be careful not to pull on it, the loop isn't strong!

Size Swap story on hold pending rewrite
General | Posted 3 years agoTo those of you who follow me for my writing, I'm afraid that Size Swap is on an indefinite hold. As you know I lost steam on the story in 2018, which was a very difficult year for me. I got back on my feet in 2019 with a great new job and eventually even a house, but I still didn't return to the story because I don't like what it's become. The short answer is I accidentally wrote myself into a corner where the implications have become dark and unpleasant, and it's completely killed the vibe of the story.
It started off as a mostly wholesome (though definitely still adult) light-hearted story, with lots of teasy sizeplay between the main characters but with a background plot that had it's own inherent backstory which didn't offer any problems at first, or if it did I genuinely didn't see them coming. That's just what happens with writing; you really don't know what a story will become until you start writing it.
But as it went along I started to realise I'd overlooked a fundamental flaw in the premise of the story. That I'd written themes of non-consensual sexual acts into the unwritten past of the main characters of this world. And as the story went on I had to reinforce this for the plot to make sense, try as I might to avoid it. And I also had to create a system (the TV show, the studio making it, the staff/cast/crew, etc) surrounding the characters that not just tolerated but encouraged sexual assault, because it was the only way the plot made sense. And I couldn't escape it, I was writing myself further and further into this corner.
And it was around here that I stopped writing, because I realised I didn't like the world I was creating for these characters, one of whom is a literal author insert of my fursona, so I risked making him complicit to some extent as well.
Hence why the story is stalled and I'm thinking I should rewrite it (not from scratch, I mean heavily edit it from the beginning to where I left off before finishing it). My aim is to make it clearer from the start of the story that these themes exist, that they're more clearly established as a negative and not a neutral aspect of the world, and to also hopefully work towards a redemption that removes the system that creates them towards the end of the story.
Another thing that I would change is drop the chapter releases. Finish the story completely before releasing it. The serial nature is what got me into trouble here in the first place, because I was locked on a course and I couldn't alter what I'd already released. So I'm obviously not keen to make that mistake again. I will miss the incremental comments and feedback of course, that was nice to have, but I don't think it's worth it. Especially given my abysmal procrastination and inability to stick to a consistent schedule. Sorry about that!
I'm not even sure if I should keep myself as the main character of this story. Keen to hear the fans' thoughts on that, let me know! Oh, and I'm planning to leave the existing chapters in scraps, so you don't need to scramble to download and save them, they won't change.
In other news, I haven't been entirely dormant on the writing front since 2018, you'll be pleased to know. I'm well on the way with a Halloween themed one-off story that I wanted to have done by last October but didn't make the deadline, but really keen to get it done in time for release on Halloween this year!
I also started a small vignette story that involves a rather tall mouse meeting a team of aerial skywriters. It's right at the good part now so hopefully it shouldn't take me much longer to finish it! :)
And obviously I still have a gigantic pile of art commissions to upload here, I apologise, please whine and beg and kick my arse about it, it really does help as motivation!
That's all for now, thanks for reading! :D

Bad Guys - An outstanding movie!
General | Posted 3 years agoI just got back from seeing the Bad Guys movie and oh my GOD, it's fantastic 8D I'm not a film critic and I don't even watch or listen to people who are, so there's going to be no structure or real point to this besides raving about whatever comes into my head, but I don't care, I have thoughts that I want to share so here goes! Oh, and I won't spoil anything, but I'd still reccomend seeing the film first before reading this!
First thing I have to say is a bit of advice, do NOT see it late at night when there's minimal traffic and then drive home. You WILL commit crimes!! And I hate cars, by the way, can't stress that enough! I would build a city with no roads if I could, just trains, trams, and bicycle lanes! And even I got more into the brief car chase sequence at the start of the movie more than any of the 2000s Bond films! I used the manual transmission mode in my car for the first time since I bought it so I could hear the engine rev harder in a lower gear when accelerating, taking turns too hard to feel like I was Wolf pulling sick handbrake turns as I went around the on ramp, undertaking drivers to feel like I was escaping from police cars. So I was not a very safe driver going home!
That ties into another point I want to make: You know you've just seen an excellent movie when it literally changes the way you move when you leave the theatre. Let me tell you, I walked out of that cinema like I was walking away from a successful heist. I was swaggering confidently, swishing an imaginary tail, adjusting imaginary cuff links on my wrists, smugly adjusting my mask (which, perfectly, had a grinning grey wolf face on it because I specifically picked that one for the occasion), and shoulders back like I owned the joint and everyone else was a fool who didn't realise they'd already been robbed. It was brilliant. Very few movies have managed to leave me in this kind of headspace, especially since I was 18 or younger!
I went in blind, the only thing I saw was the first trailer 4 months ago when it was released, which I'd completely forgotten. I knew nothing about the book or comic or whatever IP it was developed from. And unlike Turning Red, which people were spoiling the best moments of on Twitter within 24 hours of it being released (another downside of digital streaming and why I prefer the traditional cinema release followed by digital/physical media), nobody had spoiled anything about this movie for me yet. No gifs or memes on Twitter at all that I had seen!
Anyway, let's get straight to the good stuff. Diane Foxington, oh my GOD. What an unbelievable hottie! For once I actually felt a moment's jealousy for present-day children and teens when it comes to their entertainment. They're unbelievably lucky to have Diane as their first furry waifu. Stick with me, I just want to go on an old-man rant for a minute. Think about the two dimensional, barely even cell-shaded anthro crushes some of us grew up on, like Minerva Mink and Miss Kitty. Garbage quality animation. Oh the characters were still sexy in their own right and they had good personalities, voices, and appeal with their design, but come on, they look like shit today. I can't imagine being a future furry-in-the-making kid seeing a closeup of Diane in UHD 8K 60fps 3D, giving Wolf a smoulderingly intense eye-watering dismissive up and down glance, watching the muscles on one side of her face twitch as she half-smiles a smirk of pure confidence, as light dully reflects off her ray-traced eyebrow piercing to reflect its surroundings with the blurry realism of dully polished stainless steel. Any kid seeing that doesn't know how lucky they are! We were lucky if Miss Kitty even managed to have all her lines stay the same thickness while she shook her ass!
Anyway, Diane was a just a great character and an instant crush, naturally. Immediately started contemplating what fanart I would be getting of her, and happy to say I already have something fun in mind and lined up to write tonight! :D
Starting to run out of steam now, what else can I rant about... Oh, the comedic timing and the inherent hilarity in the animation style was golden. There were at least three separate times when I involuntarily barked out a laugh because something was just so unexpectedly funny to me, which is rare because I'm a very quiet movie goer (I open my choc top BEFORE I walk in so that no one has to hear that ungodly loud plastic wrapper noise). I liked the cast, actually speaking of hotties by the way, Ms. Tarantula wasn't half bad herself! I could see myself wanting to snuggle a same-size version of her, which is saying something because, y'know, giant spider. Any film that makes spider girls hot or even just cute is already doing a great job! The voice acting was all on point, and it was great to see Moss from the IT Crowd getting to expand his range and try something besides loveable goofball for a change! Oh and the police chief woman was absolutely hysterical, I loved her, every scene she was in was pure gold, most of my hardest laughs were for her XD
Okay memory and motivation is definitely fading at this point. I'll try and sneak in a second viewing with a friend if I can but for now I'll just say it was fantastic, go and see it in cinemas while you still can! Thanks for reading! :)

Furdu 2022 Information!
General | Posted 3 years agoTemplate stolen from
FURtitude
Where are you staying?
The con hotel
How are you arriving?
Plane
What day are you getting there?
Flying in Thursday, Flying out Tuesday
Are you sharing a room with anyone?
Sharing with
sunnyhoney from late Thursday night until Sunday evening. I have the room completely to myself for most of Thursday and all of Monday! So if any friends want to hang out or even stay the night on Sunday/Monday I'm totally free so far with a second bed available!
Can I take photos of you/with you?
So long as I'm in fursuit, not so keen on human photos but that's the default at furry cons anyway!
Are there events you might be attending?
I haven't looked at the schedule properly yet but I'm obviously doing the fursuit walk, and I might take a look at the writing panel just out of curiosity if nothing clashes!
What suit(s) will you have?
Luvtail 2.0
How can I find you/contact you?
Tweet me @Luvtail, DMs open! Telegram is available to friends or people I want to plan stuff with!
What is your gender?
Cis male, He/Him, Asexual/Aegosexual (google it, it's complicated!)
Are you taken? Are you looking for a 'mate'?
Single and not looking for a partner, but I am available for fursuit cuddles with female friends! ^^
Do you have a sketchbook/dealer's table/offer free art?
NA
Can I talk to you?
You can try! I get very excitable at cons so don't take offence if I excuse myself to dash over for a photo of someone I know!
Can I touch you?
Cosplay is not consent (just a general rule for any kind of convention), so always ask for a hug or a touch while in suit! I won't say no so long as you ask! I'm a big hugger of course. You can hug my tail but be careful not to pull on it, the loop isn't strong!
Can I buy you drinks?
No alcohol please!
Can I give you stuff?
I'm never sure what this means, gifts are a very personal interaction, obviously I'm going to accept or decline in the moment based on what it is x3 I'm not a pin or sticker collector, FYI.
May I kidnap you to my room?
Yes I'm open to this with the right people, DM or ask me! I'm only sharing with one friend and I have the room entirely to myself on Sunday night and all of Monday, so it'll be more likely that I'll be the one doing the kidnapping! :3
Are you nice?
I hope so! :)
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
I'm neither vision nor hearing impaired, if that's what this question is getting at.
Where will you be most of the time during the days?
Fursuiting, getting photos, browsing the dealer's den, and maybe checking out a few panels. I'll most certainly be in the con hotel the entire time; I'm not planning to sneak off to the theme parks or anything!
What/where will you be eating?
Fast food, probably solo. Time is money at a convention! Might do a restaurant dinner at some point though!
What's the next con you're planning on?
Next year's Furdu! Which I'll hopefully be staying for longer at because I can actually get the real leave this time and not go AWOL from work for a few days, lol.

10 years waiting for my fursuit, RubberTexRaccoon
General | Posted 3 years agoYes, you read that right. It’s been exactly one decade since I made the first of three payments for a fullbody fursuit. Three payments of $600 USD for a total of $1800 USD, the full price for the promised fursuit. That fursuit has still not been built, and I have received no refund despite being promised one as far back as 2016.
I was just wondering if people think that’s too long to wait? Vote now on your phones! :P
Since the number of years has hit double digits, I thought it was time I finally speak up about this. But I can't talk about this any further on FurAffinity, since it’s against their Code of Conduct to discuss personal grievances, quarrels, and negative statements against individuals. So I'm not going to talk about it here.
So instead, completely unrelatedly, I’m merely advertising that I have an old DeviantArt account. You might find it interesting, I don’t know, take a look here: https://www.deviantart.com/master-tigress-6
And, I want to make it clear, there is to be no harassment of any person mentioned there. Not on Furaffinity, not on DeviantArt, not in the comments on this journal (I will be deleting comments of this nature), not on any other platform. I don’t want anyone to harass someone on any account. No messaging, doxxing, or any form of harassment. Thank you.
Have a lovely day everyone! Peace.

Where are all my new followers coming from?
General | Posted 5 years agoI seem to be getting a stupidly huge inrush of new followers here, which is weird since despite still getting regular commissions I've uploaded practically none of them this year. Are my commissions doing the rounds somewhere other than FA, on Telegram or Discord groups perhaps? I know it's not coming from E621 since barely any of my commissions have made it to there, I don't have an account there.
A lot of the new accounts have no profile picture or any submissions either, so that's weird. I mean I totally get that some people out there are just closet furries who want to see the adult art but not have a character or presence or commission or create anything themselves, and that's fine. But the numbers of these I'm seeing is still a bit odd.
I don't have much more to say. I haven't done any writing this year, if you've managed to get through 2020 and actually find the will and creative energy to create anything for fun than you're a better person than me! This cursed year is almost over, hope everyone is getting better! Best of luck to all my friends in the US who are doing it tougher than I can imagine!

Update postponed
General | Posted 5 years agoSo yeah that update I promised in the last journal still hasn't happened, obviously. It just never seems to be the right time. First the bushfires in Australia, then the pandemic, and now the BLM protests (which I fully support FYI! Good on ya, and good luck to all participating!). It just doesn't seem the right time to tell the story I was going to, which involves complaining about my life for a little bit, which seems very unjust considering current events. The story ends with where I am now, which is a fantastic place: Employed in a job I love, and with a house. So whining about my life in 2018 isn't going to ring very true for most people who let's face it, are living far worse than I was even in 2018 at my darkest point.
So I'll hold off on that for now. Still can't seem to summon the energy to upload my massive art backlog here, but maybe some inspiration will trickle in and I'll get another short rush of pics put up.
Thanks for understanding, good luck everyone, don't let 2020 beat you!

Aussie's uploading again omg
General | Posted 6 years agoMight be wrong to say "I'M BACK, BABEH!!" Bender style, because I never really left FA, I was still checking in and leaving comments, buying art, and so on. But I've definitely been on a hiatus of uploading all the commissions that have still been pouring in over the last year. Today I finally broke that dry spell, and I hope to keep it up over the next day or so!
I also need to do a full proper journal about how much my life has changed (for the better) since I took my break from FA and to some extent real life fandom as well, so please prompt me for that if I haven't done it within the next few days.
Good to be back!

Signal boost: New artist! (Hyper boobs, humans)
General | Posted 6 years agoGiving a shoutout to a new artist that I think deserves a little attention and is currently open for commissions.
MitBoy
They just drew this for me and I'm extremely pleased with it: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/30958364/ Really suits poor Flutters ;3
As you can see their speciality is boobs ranging from big to gigantic, human girls, and cute clingy outfits. I might be getting more Equestria Girls pics like this in the future, given how good this one came out!
Pricesheet is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/29105990/

A new year for Luvtail!
General | Posted 7 years agoWell, I don't know if I speak for everyone but I seem to speak for a lot of people: 2018 sucked arse. I had 6 months work in the whole year, I was struggling for meaning and a future, it seemed like I was going to be stuck with my parents forever, and I struggled with depression as a result. As you guys have probably noticed I haven't been active here. I have at least 40 commissions I haven't uploaded yet, and I haven't written any more chapters of Size Swap in far too long.
But 2019 is going to be a very different year. After trying since roughly June of 2017, I've somehow managed to obtain my dream job. I'm going to become a train driver!! It's such an unbelievable accomplishment for me, I'm so happy, not least because it's in my home state. I was prepared to move just about anywhere in Australia to get started, but being in my home city where I know the city and have plenty of friends around, is just amazing.
I've already lined up a rental apartment, I'm moving in this week, and starting my year's worth of training in a fortnight. It's going to be a fresh start. New place, new job, new Luvtail! It'll take me a while to get settled in of course, but here's hoping that once I do and I get into a routine, I'll have more motivation to allot myself some writing time. It's funny how when you're unemployed you have all the time in the world to write, but you never do.
So, right now I'm enjoying Christmas with my parents, and soon heading off to have dinner with the whole family. I hope you all have a nice Christmas when it comes to your time zone. Have a lovely holiday, see you next year! :)

It's safe to follow AussieLuvtail on Twitter again!
General | Posted 7 years agoThat is, for those of you that didn't want to see all my macro-themed thoughts, ideas, and commissions. I made a new account for all those things, you can find it here: https://twitter.com/AussieBigtail/
After losing my third and then fourth job in just over a year, I was in a bit of a sad and lonely spot. And part of my method for dealing with loneliness involved fantasising about having a giant friend to hug and cuddle me, just make me feel safe and wanted, you know? However I kind of overshared this desire on my twitter, which had 1000 followers built on a foundation of cute fursuit photos, real life friends, and SFW commissions and content. I'm certain there's a lot of real life friends who were followers who now aren't, or at least have me muted because they quickly got sick of the macro content. Totally understandable, I just wish there was a way to let each of them know that it's safe to follow me again, because those days are over. Hopefully this journal snags one or two :)
I encourage the fans of my macro/micro content to follow my new account, https://twitter.com/AussieBigtail/ I'll mainly use it to post my size themed commissions, post ideas I have for future stories/pictures, RT related content, etc etc.
My normal account is still here of course: https://twitter.com/AussieLuvtail

Didn't get the job. Size Swap anyone?
General | Posted 7 years agoUnfortunately I didn't get the dream job I wanted. I'm pretty crushed by that, looks like it's back to menial jobs and living with parents until I figure out what I want to do or another shot at this job opens up again. Sigh.
Moving on, who here misses Size Swap? It's been an embarassingly long time since the last chapter, closing in on a whole year in fact. Hopefully it still has some fans out there, gimme some encouragement so that I can get motivated to pick it up again and keep writing. Still a lot more chapters left in my mind, but until recently I couldn't see the path clear to get to them. Now I think I have a plot twist cooked up that should enable the story to move forward from the corner I wrote myself into.

Birthday boy~ Plus life update
General | Posted 7 years agoIt was my birthday yesterday! Or today, if you're in America, hah. 27 now, and now that I have a small beard and moustache I actually look it.
Anyway, for my birthday I went to the South Brisbane Fur Meet, where I had a lot of fun, got to suit for a few hours, and got lots of birthday hugs/tail hugs/ear baps/etc. Thanks to everyone who was there :)
Why was I in Brisbane? Because this morning I had possibly the most important job interview of my life, and I'm very confident that I have a good chance at getting it. If I do I'll be moving to Brisbane, so it'll be a huge life change for me and I'm really looking forward to it if it happens. So excite you guys, so excite.
In the meanwhile, I'm currently still in Brisbane and will be until Saturday. Thursday and Friday I'm staying with some fun local fursuiters, then flying home Saturday to hang with another fursuiting friend, and then hopefully doing some fursuit ice skating on the Sunday to celebrate! :D

FurDu 2018 meme
General | Posted 7 years agoSomewhat copied from the CFG meme responses, but I tried to make it fresh.
-Where are you staying?
Mantra on View hotel
-What day are you getting there?

-How are you arriving?

-Who will you be rooming with?
FURtitude
Apari
friend_o_flow
-Who will you hang out with during the convention?
The usual suspects, local friends from home plus all the friends I only get to see once a year!
-Are there events you might be attending?
As always with Furdu I'll go with the flow, see what's on at any given moment and see if I can't catch a few things that interest me!
-Will you be suiting?
A Furdu without suiting is a Furdu not worth having!
-Do you do free art?
A-rt? *headtilts*
-Do you do trades?
I might, if you would trade art for a story, and it was about something I'm good at writing. Ie: Basically just macro/micro, size difference, and various kinds of growth :P But can't hurt to ask!
-What is your gender?
Male
-How old are you?
26
-Are you taken?
Nope! :)
-Can I talk to you?
Sure can, but more info in "are you nice" below.
-Can I touch you?
Sure, I'm not touchphobic, long as you don't slowly brush my thigh or anything creepy :P
-How can I find you?
Apparently I'm hard not to find, even at ConFurgence when I wasn't in suit, I had so many people coming up and asking when I was gonna be in suit, haha.
-Can I visit your room?
Maybe! Talk it over first! Bear in mind I'm rooming with three other people so odds are this won't be the best option.
-Can I buy you drinks?
*grumbles* For the first time since I started attending cons in 2012 I now can't truthfully say no to this, as a certain bunch of miscreants are insisting that they pay for me to get drunk for their amusement. For which I'm very grateful, mind. Still huffy about it though, nyeh *folds arms* :P
-Can I give you stuff?
I'd rather just hugs and a nice chat! I do adore surprise chibis though, especially if they illustrate some con injoke between us.
-Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Always down for hugs in fursuit! And I'm certainly interested in snuggles from female friends, non-sexual of course. I don't mind if you're in or out of fursuit, but I'd want to be in full suit myself. I'm way more snuggly that way anyway :3 DM or PM or note me or whatever if interested!
-Are you nice?
I certainly hope so, but at a convention I'm also constantly suffering from FOMO, always feeling like I need to be in suit or behind a camera or at a panel. When I'm talking to people I tend not to give them my undivided attention, my head is on a swivel in case something spontaneous crops up nearby that I have to film, so please don't be offended if I'm not giving you a 100%, I'll try.
-How long are you going?
Leaving on Monday.
-If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Paranautical flare. Aim away from face.
-Where will you be most of the time during the days?
Conspace, of course. I didn't come here to NOT be around furries.
-What/where will you be eating?
I rotate between Subway and Mcdonalds for lunches, and the odd pub for dinner, but it'll depend on what friends I can snag, or be snagged by as the case may be.
-Can I come with you for fun/food/etc.?
If not eating didn't make me feel like crap I wouldn't bother. I'd rather just eat as fast as I can and get back to the con.
-Can I pet your suit?
Duh! Just don't stand on my tail!
-Are you excited!
Even moreso than ConFurgence now that I know I have some special friends to look forward to meeting, plus the prospect of getting drunk while people laugh at me again to look forward to! :D

Luvtail's life update
General | Posted 8 years agoHey everyone, sorry again for the long delay in both writing and uploading my increasing backlog of finished commissions.
The good news is that I just today started a new job. Not important what it is, but I'm not happy with it. It's something I'm competant at, and something I can do pretty easily, and of course money coming in is better than just eating into my savings, but bad news is it's not something I think I'll enjoy doing. So I'm going to be feeling pretty unfulfilled until I can find something more to my tastes.
I'm way more active on Twitter at the moment so if you're interested in me talking about macro stuff, posting fursuit photos, or bitching about my life, follow me there https://twitter.com/AussieLuvtail
Luckily, a job means routine, structure, focus. I'm hoping once I settle into the swing of this job I'll get a better handle on my free time and the urge to write will resurface. It might take a little while though because I haven't found accomodation beyond this week and the next and only when I find something stable will I be able to settle into a routine.
I'm also going through a severe bout of loneliness, as can be seen from all my tweets that boil down to basically "wouldn't it be awesome to have a huge girl to snuggle with" so... I actually wrote a whole two paragraphs about my feelings here but I deleted it, it was too personal for FA. Short story is that lonely snep = macro-obsessed snep because all he wants is big comforting hugs.
Made myself gloomy now, goodnight.

Why I'll soon be posting NSFW art (personal journal)
General | Posted 8 years agoFirst, I know some of you will see that title and say "What are you on about, you've been posting art featuring giant tits for a year now." But hold on, it's about to get worse. :P
As my oldest fans will know, when I joined the fandom in 2009 and made my fursona, I was the most innocent guy you'd ever met, and stayed that way for quite a while. I took pride in my character being clean. For about four or five years all I commissioned was cute adorable innocent stuff.
Then I very gradually began to get more risque stuff. Underwear, big boobed girls, sexy poses and so on. Never porn or even very lewd, but certainly risque. Then I got into breast growth and that's been a major theme of my art for the last year or two. So I've basically been veeery gradually working my way towards adult art. But I was always worried about crossing that line because I can't go back after that, and it feels like losing my innocence somehow, even though I lost it about three years ago if I'm honest
I guess I was afraid of spoiling my reputation. I built my entire character and fursona and online reputation as being clean, SFW, tame, cute, cuddly, innocent. Because when i first joined the fandom that's what I was, I had no interest in sex, I was asexual.
Only eight years later I'm slowly realising that I'm probably a very shy heterosexual rather than an asexual, because I'm certainly very attracted to boobs and the female form. But I'm still not sexual, at least not IRL, where I only cuddle with close friends at most. Roleplay and furry art is a different story, I express my adult side there, and I've been doing it a lot more lately, hence why I'm now wondering whether to be more open about it.
Bottom line is that I've decided not to be so embarrassed about what turns me on, and to start posting some of the adult commissions I've secretly obtained, which I got because I wanted to experiment with certain themes but was too afraid of spoiling my reputation to post them.
For instance, this account is mine: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/nutjob I invented that character and claimed that account (I didn't make it, it was a dead account I took over thanks to help from an admin friend) because I had started to suspect that I had a fetish for hyper underwear bulges, and I wanted to get some art of it to confirm this. Turns out yes, I do enjoy it! Not sure why I was so terrified to admit that on FA of all places, but there it is. Oh, and I wouldn't bother watching that account because now that I've surrendered to the idea of using Aussie for my hyper themed art, I have no need for that character nor account anymore, he's just a piece of history now.
So now that that's out, I'm soon going to upload some other adult commissions I've secretly commissioned. It might come as a slight shock to see them all tumble out at once, but rest assured I'm not going to turn into some smut lord only commissioning and posting hyper sneppid art. I still very much love to commission cute toony stuff and I'll still do that, there'll just very occasionally be something more adult mixed with it. But hey, I'll of course be marking those submissions as adult, and those that really don't want to see them will have their filters on, so I'm not sure what I'm pre-apologising for. I've always maintained that if you don't like a piece of art, don't look at it, so I should be pushing that same advice now.
And yes, I might even start writing some adult-themed stories. Don't get too excited though, my backlog of already ongoing stories hasn't gone anywhere, it might be years before I get around to it. Although I just remembered I have one or two gift stories I can post now. Stay tuned.
Thanks for reading this overly long explanation for why I, a furry, have (horror of horrors) sexual interests. I really don't know why it took me this long to just stand up and admit that. Thank you to all my friends who encouraged me to take this position and put up with a lot of whining from me on this topic while I oh so gradually came to this point. Your willingness to listen and offer advice shows just how good a friend you are, cheers mates. :)

An update on the stories I'm writing
General | Posted 8 years agoFor those of you that have been paying attention, my personal life has become complicated after I lost my job at the end of March. I've found a new one, but it's much further away from home and I've been staying at airbnbs while I track down some more longer-term accomodation. And for those of you that haven't been paying attention *claps loudly* OI!!
On top of this, while I was at Furry Down Under 2017 I stumbled upon a novella by Arilin called "Goddess". It's the first time I've seen a macro themed story in print form, and apart from it being an excellent book that I would highly recommend to my audience (You can buy it here!), it also inspired me to write a macro themed furry novella of my own, and this time not just put it on FA for free, but try and get it published. Not so that I can make money from my writing, but more to prove to myself that I can write something worthy of being published in the first place. That would be a real achievement for me.
This has left me in an awkward position. I immediately started writing the novella, and at the same time naturally lost interest in Size Swap, which I haven't touched since losing my job. I do really want to keep Size Swap going, but it's a struggle given that I'm not even halfway through (it ballooned out to a much bigger story than I thought it would, it'll probably end up rivalling Welcome Visitor in length). And I know of course that it's the one people want to see the most, just this week I got a lovely note from a fan begging me to continue (thank you!! It's stuff like that that makes me want to!).
But at the same time, I have very little creative energy now. I hate this new job, and that combined with the upset to my life and my routine has left me with little creative energy to write with. And when I do get it, I can't say for certain which story I will devote it to. I actually have far too many on the go, and I'll list them here now.
Luvtail's unfinished stories as of June 2017
(In chronological order)
1: Global Renovation: Only the oldest fans will remember this. This was a few chapters of something that I started in high school that I'll probably never finish. I'll be honest, it was purely wish fullfilment, and not my best work at that. Don't expect me to ever touch this again.
2: Unfinished YCH: This was a story that I started writing for a friend but we both lost interest before it got to the good stuff. It was about a person finding themselves suddenly giant and going on a rampage, then being transported to an alternate universe where they're still big but are incapable of causing any damage, as punishment. I still rather like the concept and I'd like to rework it someday as a YCH, but it's at the bottom of my priority list and likely will never happen.
3: Cuddly giant alien vs the US Navy: This one I really liked, and I got quite a ways into writing it before losing interest. With a little dedication I could make a quick sharp ending for it and be done with it, but I'm holding out in the hopes that I'll do it justice someday.
4: Size Swap: The one I'm most eager to finish as its a fan favourite and a personal favourite, of course.
5: Anonymous commission: A story for a commissioner that try as I might I just couldn't get into, commissioner ended up cancelling. There's not enough story to do much of anything with, probably scrapped forever unless I can turn it into a really short YCH to make some easy cash.
6: Art trade with Atimist: Oh, I'd almost forgotten this one! It's all finished and ready to go I'm saving this one until December because that's when the story is set, and I think people will like it more if they're reading it at that time of year.
7: Zootopia themed fanart: Not started yet, just an idea I have. It actually could be combined pretty easily with the unfinished YCH idea, I might do that someday.
8: Spice and Wolf fanart: Another that I haven't started. Unlike most of my work I have a clear beginning in mind for this story but no end and no real middle. It'd probably work best as a writing prompt, it's just a single idea that I like but can't think of much else to do with.
9: Avaline: Working title of my new novella that I was talking about.
Oh, and that's not even mentioning two seperate people who want to commission me. I've actually completely forgotten who one of them is or what they wanted, that's how unlikely I am to even start those commissions. I'm so sorry for giving you false hope if you're reading this, but I never did promise that I'd get around to your idea and you see the reason why. :c Sorry to those that want to commission me but writing takes so much more time than it used to when I didn't have a job and life and so on.
In short, I apologise for once again stalling with Size Swap. I move into new accomodation over the next fortnight, once I've settled into life there I hope to feel more like writing. Though I'll likely still be glum until I can find a job I like better. I know exactly what I want, but whether I'll get it is another matter, we'll just have to wait and see.
Birthday!
General | Posted 8 years agoI'm 26 today, which is funny because according to one of my favourite comedians, it's not a real birthday: https://youtu.be/RJnCHy0p6n4
"I'm twenty six!" "Great, go to work, who gives a shit. Shut the fuck up" x3
And accordingly, I am at work. Saaad. But oh well at least it's #MacroMonday on Twitter and I had some awesome art from badgerben to upload for it.
Have a great day everyone! World environment day, why not take some plastic bags with you to work/school today and pick up some litter on your route there, make the world a slightly cleaner place? :)

General | Posted 8 years agoWhere are you staying?
At the con hotel
What day are you getting there?
Midday on Thursday
Who will you be rooming with?
Paskhowl, Vel and Fozzaroo
Who will you hang out with during the convention?
All the old favourites, plus any new suiters who catch my eye!
How can I find you?
The enormous tail of course! :3
Are there any panels you might be attending?
I'm actually on the Furries of Youtube panel this year! I don't think I'll have much to say but I'll be there!
Are you attending any stage or public performances?
See above
Will you be suiting?
Hells yes!
Which suit(s) are you bringing?
One and only, Luvtail!
Do you draw?
Nope
How old are you?
25
How tall are you?
175cm
Can I talk to you?
See how it goes! Forgive me if I don't recognise you, I'm terrible with faces, I need to see a badge with your character and furname on it, even then don't be offended if it takes me a minute.
Can I touch you?
When I'm in suit! Stick to hugs though, no gropes.
Can I visit your room?
No, it's just for changing.
Can I buy you drinks?
Hahaha as if anyone would.
Can I give you stuff?
I wouldn't say no to money? :P
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Hugs yes, snuggles nnnot really unless you're a close friend.
What’s your goal for the con this year?
Not spend the whole con worrying about my drone, which I'm not bringing.
Are you nice?
Mostly! Easily distracted though so I might wander off on you.
How long are you going?
All days
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Call me Luvtail. Oliver isn't my real name but I respond to it because it's the name I use on facebook, but really Luvtail is easiest.
Where will you be most of the time during the days?
In the conspace, only time I ever leave the hotel is to get food.
What/where will you be eating?
Subway/Mcdonalds/pizza, something fast.
Can I come with you for food/fun etc?
Depends on the situation.
Can I take your picture?
While in suit only please!

Sorry for the renewed writer's block
General | Posted 8 years agoSorry that the chapter updates for Size Swap stopped abruptly, but my job of four years was becoming more stressful due to it looking like I was going to lose it because there wasn't enough for us all to do each day. Then I lost it, so yeah. Haven't felt much like writing understandably, I've just been making myself feel better with Futurama and Farming Simulator 2017 and easter chocolate :P Weird combo I know.
Anyway I'm going for a brief holiday over the easter weekend to a beach house with no internet, so I'm hoping that with nothing else to do inspiration will strike and I'll crank out a chapter or two. Cheers guys, have a good holiday!
Oh and hey, settle a bet for me. Let's say in the story, Luvtail had to sacrifice his life in order to save Corrine (or the entire city) from some horrific fate. That would be a noble thing right, that would be something worthy of admiration and praise? Sacrificing the ultimate thing, one's own life, in order to save other peoples? We can all agree that's noble.
But then two days later without any explanation he comes back to life, perfectly healthy, and continues living. That'd cheapen the whole thing right? It would make the sacrifice worthless, because where is the sacrifice if he can just will himself back to life? Can we agree on that?
...So why does Jesus get away it? :P
Food for thought, happy easter :3

Luvtail deleted his comments by accident!!
General | Posted 9 years agoI wasn't paying attention and nuked four comments without seeing who made them or what submissions they were on. They were made sometime in the last 8 hours and I checked, they weren't on the two submissions I uploaded today and they weren't shouts.
I know this shouldn't bother me but I'm really curious what the comments were, whether they were replies to commennts I made on other peoples work, or comments on my submissions. If you made them by any chance let me know, but odds are I'll never know and I'll just have to deal with it :P
