So, once again I'm finding myself having problems getting to TFF. Thanks to a generous friend who will remain unnamed, I've managed to get some very cheap room space for Friday and Saturday night, but I don't have any transportation up there that works with my schedule. Everyone I know who's offered me a ride up there leaves Thursday, but if anyone happens to read this that is or knows someone leaving or passing through Houston to go to TFF on Friday, or even Saturday morning, and/or is going back Sunday evening, please let me know.

(Also, I can't help but wonder if making the Day of Ferretry the day after April Fool's Day was intentional...)

Anyhow, not only am I not abandoning this page, I don't even have a Weasyl account. I'm like, the exact opposite of an early adopter.

So, I'm planning on joining the exodus to Weasyl. I've had an account there for a long time (which, like this one, I never use), because, hey, how could I not join a site named after mustelids? I'll still leave my photos here, and my contact info (that nobody ever uses), but don't expect me to respond to notes or shouts here anymore.

Oh, right, the Weasyl account. It's... um...

Things have worked out job-wise, so I should hopefully be able to get to Furry Fiesta sometime tomorrow. Figuring out room arrangements now.

So, it's two days out from Furry Fiesta, and I have a problem.

Specifically, a full year of unemployment has left me with not enough money to get there.

That said, I do have a plan, or at least the outline of one, but I'll need help from the Houston furry community to pull it off.

First, I need help getting a job quickly. I really can't afford to go if I can't guarantee a future income stream, so I need to get a job lined up by the end of this week. I'm not picky at all at this point, so my main priority is getting hired quickly. Even a temp job will do, as long as I can get a few hundred dollars out of it (and it doesn't interfere with the con). If you have a job lead, or better yet can help me get a job interview quickly, then please let me know!

Second, once I have a job lined up, I'll need to borrow money. I don't really *want* to do this, but I won't be able to get a paycheck before TFF, so this is my only option. I estimate it'll cost me about $200 for a bare-bones trip. This needs to be a local who is either staying in Houston, or can get me the money before they leave for TFF, since I'd need it to fill up the car before I go.

For those who are able and willing to help, thank you. If you have a job lead, feel free to comment on this journal, but if you're willing to lend money, let me know via a private note.

UPDATE: I've managed to get a job interview tomorrow, so right now I just need to find someone willing to help me with the immediate money situation. Assuming I actually get the job, mind you.

So, pretty sure I recently almost-met a local fur I'm not familiar with driving home. The Texas flag pawprint sticker on the back was a big clue, but what really cinched it for me was the lanyard hanging from the rearview window with a "I <3 YIFF" button on it. Yeah.

Anyhow, guy drove a red car (don't remember the make and model), with Aperture Science and Fus-Ro-Dah bumper stickers. If any of the Houston furs know who drives it, let me know for Sunday, OK?

OK, I've neglected this thing for something like 4 or 5 years now. It's time I added some contact information, update my age (seriously, why does FA not automatically update that?), and actually upload some of the massive backlog of photos from cons and local furmeets that I have sitting on my hard drive.

Probably should write something for that big blank space up at the top, but ferrets run out of energy and get lazy.
