General | Posted 12 years agoI know my journals really don't get seen or looked over by anyone, because I don't really make a effort to write anything, especially since I am a complete no one, but I figured I should post something on this.
My father passed away from liver cancer and cirrhosis of the liver on the 14th of this month April, at 6:11PM Arizona Mountain Time, in Oracle, Arizona, 85623. He had a really long amazing life, of 56 years, I was 22 years as a part of that, and he taught me everything I know. He raised me alone and did his best to be what he called "MomDad" and I loved him dearly for that. I never really had much of a mother figure and my dad always seemed to make up what was missing, he taught me how to sew and cook, and build anything my imagination could come up with. Out of respect for him I made this journal, because it is a major thing in my life, and it's important I have reminders of that, for when I look back on my past. It's hard to believe my giant ogre of a father would succumb to cancer, the biggest killer of anyone in this world, and that I would have more reason to be a cancer awareness supporter.
Out of a request my dad made the months of his illness, I have worked on a concept to make him into a space whale. He'd really love that kind of character creation, and sometime shortly I will be adding a mark to the body of Snowy, my true furry form, that will represent my father. He also wrote me a note last time he was in the hospital that said "DO YOUR ART." so I will be doing just that, because I know it would make him proud.
Other memorable people in my life who were taken from this world to the next.
I also lost my uncle Jon in January 2012 from a overdose, out of respect for him, I never had the courage to mention anything because it hurt so much, and now with both him and my father gone from my life, I am hoping to improve myself more, to support their memories and live a life free of anyone's opinions, they both lived to give, love and enjoy every little thing. My uncle Jon was part of my childhood all the way into my teens, he traveled the world and had many amazing stories of his traveling adventures, he gave me that itch, to see and explore everything. He was a true believer in YOLO, and a huge trouble maker, but he always was doing something for the greater good, and in my eyes with his engineering background, he was a real life Tony Stark.
One other major being that was so powerful in shaping who I am in this world and how I see the people in it, was a dear friend of mine named Kathy Johnson, she was a teacher here in Arizona, she taught foreign children how to speak English. Ever waking moment of her life was giving something to someone else in need, all of her children were adopted from different parts of the world, she was a true rainbow at heart. She taught me the meaning of creativity, and how the world didn't have to be dark and dreary, and everything was full of color. I used to go to art shows with her all over Arizona, selling the handmade tye-dye I helped her work on, in a van so old, it was for the hippies. Sadly I lost her in 2009 from leukemia, she never knew she had.
Needless to say, everyone that is a part of your life, that has a strong meaning to you or has taught you amazing life lessons, you really should respect them enough to remember the good times, and enjoy them while they are around and take what they give you and expand it out onto others. Life is really too short, the people listed above were all barely past the half way mark in the life line of the human race. It really makes you think.
Thank you for reading and lots of love, I hope this made you stop for a moment to ponder some people close to you that have done amazing things in your life.
