A lil sadness for the day to come. My birthday...it's not what you think, I celebrate the wisdom I have gain thru this year it's just sorrow I feel without having my mother to share it with me. It was our day...our birthday, how many people can say I was born on my mother's birthday. Use to joke that it could never top my first bday gift to her (myself). Cheesey I know but it always made her laugh. I miss her laughter. So another year gone by and eve through she is not around to see the woman and mother I have become I see her live on thru my son...his bright eyes, smiles and yes his laughter so much like my mother's.

I remember birthday cakes with Happy Birthday Mom and Me. Of giving her a gift as I would get one and always saying "its good but it will never out do being born on your birthday, greatest gift ever" . Of her smiles and birthday dinners where family would get together around us singing and cheering. Of making jokes about the years she had her day all to herself and I would comment "hey at least you had one by yourself".
Now I will soon have my 2nd birthday by myself and I would give anything to share it with her...anything to have both our names on a cake, anything for her smiles and jokes, anything to have next to me while the family gathers around....just anything to have her back.

Yeah, it will never be the same again.

I just wanted Friday to be done with...I knew it was going to be hard. Had been preparing for it for quite a while but I had no idea just how hard it would be. I catch myself sometimes waiting for her to come thru the front door and ask how my day has been or how my son is doing. But mostly I find myself missing her always being around, being Mom.

Yeah, I am glad this day is over, its been one year since she's gone. Now I have to deal with the rest of my life without her.
