1/18/2014 Tarot
Posted 11 years agoHello! I felt the need to do another tarot reading today...in fact it is a question that has been on my mind for the past few days: what do I need to improve about myself; what do I need to change to be better?
I believe that there is always room for change. My reading today pointed me to the Owl and to the Tortoise.
The owl's message is to seek out deeper knowledge to see through deception.
The tortoise warns that change should not be made simply for the sake of change.
It just so happens that the owl is one of my spirit guides. I believe from my reading the owl's message is a way of telling me to ask the right questions...that perhaps the answers I seek is not about what I need to change about myself...
This is reinforced by the tortoise. Change happens over time and I believe that these messages were sent as a way of telling me that there is nothing to change, at least not at the present time. However, the owl brings up an interesting point. I have my own uncertainties in life and sometimes I take things the wrong way. What is important for me to learn in this situation is to not jump to conclusions, not push for change where there is already balance, and to seek within myself the deeper questions close to my heart.
It is time that I take a moment to reflect on my feelings, my memories, and my thoughts and decipher my own heart.
---
On an additional note, I feel that in light of this reading it is important to point out to anyone who is interested in or new to the art of divination that sometimes the answers you seek are not so direct and that divination, if done correctly and with honest intent, is more of a way to find guidance in one's life. Tarot cards are a way for us to communicate with our spirit guides and sometimes the best answer is in fact a question. These questions push us to reflect on our inner selves and find the answers for ourselves with a little bit of guidance.
In this situation, my reading indicated that I was merely deceiving myself into thinking that there was something I was doing wrong or something that I needed to change about myself. The tortoise essentially shows us that there is no reason to fix something that isn't broken. In conclusion, I will need to meditate in order to understand what is truly affecting me and how to solve these insecurities.

1/5/2014 Tarot
Posted 11 years agoLet me start off by telling you a little bit about my beliefs. I follow the path of shamanism, a form of paganism. Shamanism involves divination, healing, and entering the spirit realm. Ever since I was a child I would have vivid dreams and visions which sent me signs. These signs protected me in my youth and as I began to practice divination and healing I became more attuned to the elements and the spirit realm. Some of my artwork is based on these visions and awakenings.
In my past relationship my beliefs and practices were forbidden. I've since broken free of those bonds. Today was the first time in the past 3 years that I used my Animal Messages tarot for guidance. An effective tarot reading requires a connection to the spiritual world and self-confidence in the card(s) you select. Randomly selected cards will not give an accurate reading.
Today's reading points to the Bison: "Recognize the riches of the past and the abundance of the present"
Hold on to wisdom from past experiences and continue forward into a new, brighter future. Life will present its gifts to you, but you must be able to recognize these gifts.
I analyzed the reading and it was immediately clear that this card illustrates some very real things happening in my life. I have learned a lot from my life, especially over the past three years. Although there were dark times, I have never regretted a single moment, and I take the lessons I have learned and eagerly move forward to explore the future. In my future I search for peace, tranquility, acceptance, and love. I just happened to meet a wonderful man and it seems like things are taking a turn for the better. There is no better feeling than being able to fully open one's heart and to know that another person sees you and loves you for who you truly are. I couldn't ask for anyone or anything better.
Thanks for reading!

A Love Poem
Posted 11 years agoA Love Poem
Once, I was dragged into the depths of the roaring sea.
I shed the shackles and the weight of a burdened heart,
No longer anchored and sinking into a bottomless abyss.
A stranger who became a friend who become a lover…
We journeyed to the stars and back.
I looked into your eyes and felt your soul.
You gave me love and you gave me hope.
I can't stop thinking of the days we spent together.
I can't stop thinking of the days ahead.
This is what dreams are made of.
Don't ever change.
You are wonderful just the way you are.
With your warm embrace,
You showed me kindness and you gave me strength.
I can't stop thinking of the nights when I held your hand and kissed you.
I can't stop thinking of the nights when I felt your soft breath upon my neck.
I can't stop thinking of the nights when we held each other close.
A friend who became a lover who became a wish come-true…
With our love the stars will never fade away.
