Well this sucks.

We all know Twitter was always a hellscape. But I will be honest, I enjoy the interactions and the community that I worked extremely hard to build. If you've been with me for a while, you'll know that for almost 5 years straight, with very few exceptions, I've consistently uploaded a fully rendered pic every week. It was a lot of hard work, 95% of the time not done for money, and I'm proud of the community on Twitter that I built.

It's very disappointing to see people, including artists and friends, leave in droves. Not because I think they're making the wrong choice, but it does feel like a scattering of all of us that makes me sad.

For the time being, I will continue to post on Twitter. At the moment I cannot simply walk away from the following I've built after so long at the drop of a hat. The new AI Training and Block features have not been implemented yet. I am cautiously but desperately hopeful that Elon reverses his decision within the next month.

That being said, I want to try and rebuild my following as much as I can, even if it never reaches the point that I have now on Twitter. I will gradually be more active on BlueSky, whereas in the past it's just been weekly uploads.

I also would love to forge new friendships and relationships on BlueSky. There are so many mutuals I have on Twitter that I don't interact with, and they don't interact with me. That might be my own fault for not initiating due to poor experiences with new people.

Regardless, I want to take a chance. After Octransfur I'll try my best to interact with more people. And build up my following again.

It's been a pretty wild time for all of FA recently. Tons of people saying one thing, tons more saying another, wildly different interpretations or overanalyzations of the new vague wordings, etc. It's all a mess.

So to straighten some things out, might as well say it outright.

When it comes to transformation artwork, it can sometimes be awkward to discern what the image is depicting in terms of age. But as for me and my art, any content you see, regardless of how the subject physically looks at the end of the transformation/during the transformation, features an adult. This goes for both SFW and especially NSFW.

Now that I've said that, please consider supporting some excellent artists like  CrizBN and  Surrii just to name a few. They could use the love.

Too celebrate (kinda) getting 3K followers on Twitter, I’m having a TF art raffle! It’s been a long time since I last did one.

Hello Former Humans!

I figured I'd type a little something up to reflect on how 2022 was for me. It was an... interesting year.

On one hand, we got AI art still being controversial, and the whole Twitter meltdown thing. Which, I've said before, I'm going down with the ship and staying on for as long as I can. In terms of interpersonal drama, both offline and online, I've had my fair share of it, but fortunately it wasn't that much. Also, I wasn't really even the offending party, I just was kinda... there.

On the other hand, I opened up a Discord server (which you can join from my Twitter bio or from another journal)! And that was super fun! I love the small community we have where I can post art and crack jokes and share memes and everything. We have also hit 750 Watchers here on FA, which is crazy! Not to mention almost hitting 3K followers on Twitter... which is even crazier. I didn't do anything for 2K, but I might have a raffle for 3K.

I met a lot of people, offline and online, and that's been amazing. I also grew closer to some folks, which has also been wonderful. Through these folks I met new people, and so it all grew from there. I got back into watching a few streams as well, which was nice!

Here's to an awesome 2023! Hopefully we can all make the best of what we're given! Have a great rest of your holiday season!!

I’ve decided to make a discord server, because why not? :D

First, this is a purely SFW server. There are plenty of other places for you to find NSFW content, but I’ve decided to keep mine simple and clean.

It’s also NOT a roleplay server. I have no roleplay channels, nor do I have any channels where you can ask for RP. Again, there are plenty of places with that.

Lastly, there’s a rule that when posting new art, you’re required to wait some time to give the artist a chance in the spotlight! That way, your stuff doesn’t get immediately buried. (I always hated that ><) Personally I’ve never seen any servers with this as a rule, hopefully we can change that!

Since May 2020, I've been uploading at least 1 TF pic every week (with the exception of two weeks skipped in November, due to personal loss). Some pals know I have an art queue full of drawings ready to upload. But due to so much work, a lack of time, and being drained... my queue is almost empty. I've always told myself I NEED to get stuff done every week. It's how I stay productive, it's how I practice, it's how I do the thing I enjoy. But I think the realization that I'm not a machine has finally caught up to me, and... I need a break.

Drawing art for myself and friends for free is so much fun but I'm tired. And I need to recoup. I have enough art to get me to Sept. 21, but I'm gonna take a short break in the last week of September. Which is good, cause my birthday is on the 25th anyway! I deserve one! :D
But I'm not going anywhere. And I still wanna try Octransfur again (tho nowhere near as ambitious as last year. I just need a breather after uploading tf art for almost 70 weeks straight. (not counting the 2 weeks I skipped). Please be patient!!

Hi loyal customers!

I can hardly believe it's been one whole year since I started drawing TF art. February 9th was when I started drawing, and February 10th is the day of my very first art upload. We've come a very long way!

This past year has been absolutely amazing. And I know, it was made worse because of the pandemic, and of various strife happening all over the world. But for me, these bad things were made less painful due to the overwhelming support and friendship of so many people in the TF Community. Truly, I've met so many people that I never dreamed of meeting, and gotten to become close with some of them too!

And not just artists -- many others in the community I am very fortunate to have met. Honestly, between the whole staying home and the uncertainty of the future, I can always count on them for a good time.

I'm still drawing on a phone, but comparing my first to my latest, the difference is absolutely night and day. Not just night and day, more like midnight and noon. I am so pleased and excited with my growth in art and I cannot wait to improve more! I'm gonna be uploading a remake of my very first tf pic just for this occasion!

I guess I just want to say thank you! Thank you for supporting me and encouraging me to keep going, to continue to improve and create more content!

To put it in perspective: Last year, I didn't have a TF Shop. I didn't have a Twitter account with over 600 followers. I didn't even have this dragon character! (He was made on May 14th, fun fact! That's his birthday, I guess.) But now, I guess this is part of my identity as a TF artist? I am the yellow dragon with a snarky attitude and punny one-liners, who runs the Transformation Shop in the middle of nowhere, with a giant noodle dragon and others as employees. I am thankful, very grateful for all the support over the last 12 months.

And I am absolutely looking forward to all the art, the friends, and the excitement that will come in the next four months! From everyone here at Avelican's TF Shop, thanks for an amazing year and here's to many more!

This can also double as a Thanksgiving update! I haven’t had the time to type this out on the date, but that’s okay :3

It’s been 9 months since I started drawing anything furry/tf related. That means if a couple did the no-no cha-cha and conceived when I started, they’d probably have a baby right now. Let’s recap what happened...

December 2019 was when I opened this account, mainly used for helping my good friend Kate Marquet edit their stories. And I still do, and happy to do so! No art was done, so I’m not starting there.

Started out drawing TF on a phone app in February. And I’m still doing it! Surprised? Yeah, me too. But someday I’ll get a tablet when I have my own place and more privacy.

In February after my second TF pic, someone sent me a Note here on FA demanding free art. When I turned them down, they sent me an irl pic of them. I almost quit at that point. I’m glad I didn’t!

Getting started was rough. I didn’t know what I was doing and more often than not I’d struggle to make anything I was proud of. But through it all, it’s motivation to improve.

May came around (Draconic Rage pic for time reference) and I managed to get a twitter account for my art! (You can find me at AvelicanArt on Twitter, I am more active there ;3) From there things also started out slow. I didn’t know what I was doing very much.

I dabbled a bit into NSFW art, too. It’s not my strong suit and although I do enjoy it very much, it’s not something I see myself doing too much in the future. Maybe when I get better, who knows?

When August came around I slowly caught the attention of some artists, which led me to a Discord server, and whoa, I met a lot of fantastic people. Like, amazing people. People who would offer tips on art as well as just having fun together. Around there, I hit 100 followers on twitter!

Some time later, I drew a silly comic poking fun at the random things people find on the ground that could act as TF triggers. It was supposed to be a one time thing... but then the response I got from so many people was astounding to me! People liked the idea of a silly shop run by a dragon that sold TF triggering items. That was it, I finally felt like I had some kind of persona in the TF community.

Meeting lots of artists, especially artists I looked up to so much, was mind blowing to me. I never even once thought I would be where I was, and I feel that to this day! And to think people liked my dorky ideas made it even more meaningful.

I’ve also found myself getting a penchant for making puns, jokes, and memes for the TF community. My stuff has made it 6 times on the TF irl subreddit so far. I consider that an achievement!

October rolled around and so did the first run of Octransfur. Determined to improve myself, and eager to give back to the TF community that influenced me and amazed me for so long, I hopped aboard the train while also drawing 31 TF artists, all visiting the shop. 31 comics, 31 days, and I can definitely say I’ve improved!

Now November is here and while it has been a rough month for me, on top of a very challenging year full of slight ups and steep downs, I want to say thank you to everyone out there for supporting me. I can’t say it enough, really. The people I’ve met have been incredible and some of you have been with me through the hard times as well. I’m especially thankful for that.

So what’s ahead in the future?

- Well I still plan to draw using my phone!

- I have some old NSFW art that I do plan to upload (only here on FA. My Twitter is strictly SFW.) I haven’t uploaded them for some reason. I don’t see myself making more, as my style seems to be leaning on the more fun/cute/silly side. But that may change in the future.

- When 2021 comes around, there will be no more stories accompanying TF pics. I know some people like the stories, but I no longer have the time to write them, unfortunately.

- Not planning on opening commissions yet. In addition to other personal reasons, I just wanna make sure I improve more before taking on any comms!

- And I plan to keep improving! All art is prep for the next one after all!

Octransfur is a TF-Centric version of Inktober created by  CrizBN, and I fully intend on doing it! However, there's a twist.

I'll be drawing TFs of 31 different TF artists every single day! These artists range from very popular, to only having a handful of followers. I have three goals in doing this.
1. Practice my own quick sketching!
2. Gift art to TF artists I admire.
3. Help boost the popularity of any smaller artists.

With this happening every day, TF Tuesday weekly drawings will be put on hold while I focus on this. I hope you'll enjoy Octransfur!

Holy crap.

I first started this account just so I could edit for my friend. Figured I'd upload a story of my own, kinda like a one off thing.

Then in February I started drawing TF art for the first time in my life. I have never been professionally trained or anything. Just me, my brain, and the phone in my hand on which I draw stuff.

Fast forward 6 months... half a year! And suddenly I find myself with 100 Watchers here on FA. Whether you were one of the very first watchers, or you came in the middle, or you just watched me less than a week ago, thank you all so, so much. I hope I can continue to entertain every one of you with tf art shenanigans in the coming months!
