Wooo new job!
It's finally my ticket to getting something that's actually relevant to my education if I play my cards right. Unfortunately it's not a permanent thing, so, I'm still working my old job as well. Because of this arrangement, I'm working 10, 11, even 12 hour days sometimes - the bank account will look great, but the tablet will be conspicuously empty for the next couple of weeks.
I still have a commission left to finish for Carch (SF) and my availability will be a bit more relaxed after thanksgiving (CANADIAN thanksgiving - october 15th, I think). Once late october rolls around, I should be in good shape to re-open.

For the last few weeks I've simply been exhausted - I'm working a lot. In itself, that wouldn't be too bothersome; however, I work *extremely* early mornings at a very physically demanding job. At best, i'm tired at the end of a work day, at worst, I'm sleep deprived.
Because of this and other stresses, unfortunately, I've not been able to devote any time to art - save for the few fleeting moments when I force myself to pick up the tablet and torturously grind out a few lines.
The crazyness at work is supposed to taper off soon and go back to 'normal'. This is a holiday weekend so I'm planning on getting some rest, so I can get back into doing some arting again. Streaming! How I miss it.
Anyway! I will still be accepting commissions for the time being (the queue is empty anyway). For the now I'm going to do some work on some art for me, unless there's any takers for commissions. Probably gonna continue work on the hunters characters (though not in writing) and I have a comic collaboration to start with

Streaming commissions tomorrow!
Posted 13 years agoI've currently come upon the bizzarre situation of having a day off tomorrow. A day off! On a sunday! What joy.
Anyway, people have expressed to me that they would like a bit of a heads up when I'm going to be streaming. So, tomorrow (probably on-and-off, starting afternoon-ish) I'll be doing some streaming!
For those interested in getting onboard for the streaming commission stuff:
Monochromatic, single-character sketches for 10$, and coloured sketches/sepia themed sketches for 20$, up to 2 characters. All ratings allowed! Payments over paypal, cus it's so fast n easy.
I will post up a journal and gallery submission when I'm live.

Also: I will most likely be doing badges, though at this point I'm not 100% sure on a format. I've got access to kutekittykatt's laminator though, and we'll both be at her table. With all kinds of fuzzy pawgloves and tails for sale, and whatever else I can manage to help put together.

Dunno of very many locals in the toronto/hamilton/burlington area, but if any of you are lurking and interested in meeting me, I'll be there. Selling commission slots hopefully! And maybe conbadges. Not sure yet.

Posted 13 years agoI'll confess something briefly: I don't read journals. Really, I don't. So writing one of my own (that is, personal, and not simply a news feed for whatever i'm doing with commissions) seems out of place, somehow - I generally don't feel that my life is an eventful enough series to report on, and I simply like you all too much to subject anyone to the minutia of what I ate today, and so forth.
In recent months, however, things have been... eventful.
Stretching back some time ago, my good friend canucklehead came upon word that his workplace was hiring. With no small effort on his behalf, I was hired on swiftly and have since spent many early (early!) mornings with him, blathering around half-asleep whilst often speaking in poorly emulated eastern european accents, but that's beside the point. Since starting to work again (and also working at a research laboratory at the local university), my self-esteem has much improved.
Through hanging around with canucklehead and patto, my circle of friends has grown, and I've even learned a few arting tricks from the artiste extraordinaire. (She also eats all of my cookies, damnit.)
We lost
athus earlier this year in a terrible accident, and not a day goes by that I don't think of him. Shortly after that happened, I also suffered a serious heartbreak of sorts; an arm injury at work followed on the heels of that, stunting my ability to draw for a good while - the arm still bothers me at times, but I can manage.
More recently, once the dust settled from those back-to-back upsets, I met someone. Though this started out as a chance meeting with a silly art trade, it developed into a friendship, and then something more. kutekittykatt came into my life as I was sorting out all the depression from the aforementioned events, and showed me that, truly, the night is darkest just before dawn. After a few meetings, and long, drawn-out sessions where we'd take turns pouring our hearts out, we've decided to become mates, officially - for each other, and only for each other. One thing after another seems to turn out perfect. I can't help but sense a strong potential with her, and I want to pursue it.
I will say, for the record, I didn't expect any of that to happen - it just sort of... did. I'm still coming to terms with the fact that this wonderful woman, who is beautiful, artistic, dreamy and self-confident - is interested in me. This one goes out to you, Kitty; thanks for 'rescuing' me, and for becoming an important part of my life.
So that's all. I promise I won't subject anyone to these updates too often. Happy christmas and new year to everyone! In the meantime, my commission sale is still on until the end of january: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3023395/

So I've considered this on and off for probably more than a year. Opening up commissions!
The following prices apply to a single-character commission:
10 $ - Inked lines (example: http://www.sofurry.com/page/165060/user)
20 $ - Flat colours(digital), no shading or highlights, simple background (such as a gradient or muted colour)
30 $ - Colours(digital), shading and highlights, simple background
40 $ - Coloured character sheets - Includes shading, central pose and 2-4 alternate poses/close-ups (details can be determined) (example: http://www.sofurry.com/page/244546/user)
50 $ - Colours, shading, highlights and a detailed background, lighting choices optional (normal, evening, dusk/night) (example: http://www.sofurry.com/page/237508/user)
Additional characters: just add 5$ per character to the base price for a single-character commission.
NOTE: I am from CANADA. That means all prices are in CANADIAN (CDN$) dollars. Therefore, if you're unsure on conversion, you can check on the following website: http://www.xe.com/ , for an up-to-date value, usually updates every few minutes.
Now, as for what I am NOT willing to draw: any kinks/fetishes that can be considered extreme. Anything non-consentual (ie: rape), disgusting (scat, watersports, vomit, blood), violent (vore, guro), illegal (copyrighted fictional characters, pedophilia/underage characters), etc, is not on. I'm also not willing to draw bondage material. Guideline 1: if it's something that might show up in the alternative or alt-hard boards on fchan, I'm not likely to draw it. Guideline 2: Take a look in my gallery, it's pretty vanilla and should give you a good idea of what I draw already.
What I am willing to draw: again, take a look in my gallery. I am willing to draw bestiality (provided it's consentual), incest (provided both characters are adults and consenting), foot fetishes (provided it's not asked for all the damn time). Anything involving my characters is fine.
The process: contact me via PM or any of the messengers I've provided in my contact info. There we can discuss details and payment, though I've not set up a paypal yet (which will probably the way I'll collect payment, unless someone knows of a better alternative). Do keep in mind that I have to agree to do the drawing first.
I will provide a scan of the artwork before it's inked, to show progress and discuss any changes if need be (minor changes - repositioning of limbs, changes to certain physical details, etc). I will try to be as accommodating as I can, but I may not be very friendly to complete redraws).
All that being said! I'm looking forward to doodling the foul inner workings of your minds, and do hope these prices seem reasonable. Are there any takers? I'll announce the number of slots and payment method before too long.

Posted 18 years ago...but oh well. I suppose it would serve to let everyone know that i'm alive.
So, over the course of this past semester, I've done no drawing. None. Nothing. Right now I'm up to my eyes in exams, but in exactly one weeks' time they'll be over, and I'll be up to no good, drawing again.
Since i've been so busy remembering things like what opium does to your brain's pain receptors, what progesterone does to male elephants, and why there's a gradient in species richness from the equator to the poles, I've forgotten most of my ideas for drawing things. So, if ye have any grand ideas which I may transfer from abstract processes of your consciousness to the humble 9x11 inches that is my canvas, inform me at your earliest convenience.
