Just signed the lease on our new commercial studio on March 1st and have been settling in slowly since. We have yet to get our internet and phone lines run and will be taking our floor plan and business concept before a community development committee at the end of April for approval. We are steady working on suits through it all and appreciate everyone's support as we prepare our portfolios, studio space and website for a Grand Opening this summer!

A month in the life of Saluna Avsun

Just wanted to let you all know that we see you anxiously waiting new posts and production news, and are working hard to get back into the swing of things after this past crazy month.
You know that first week in the month where you're feeling a little under the weather, but work is steady and things need to be done, so you're just plugging away, forgetting feeling yucky and hoping it will just go away? That's how my February started. If I had only known what was to come! So the yucky flu got worse as the week went on, and into the next week. Finally someone told me to lay down and eat some soup, and get some good rest (what SO many of you wonderful folks told us to do- thank you!:) It was well into the second week of the month and I was exhausted, trying to work but trying hard not to cough all over the place, and now my business partner/ hubby was ALSO sick. UCK! Finally, about a week and a half later, we were both feeling much better. We were ready to get back into that workroom and despite a package of necessary, high-quality fur that was still lost in the mail on its way to us, we were ready to get everything done that we could. I went to morning yoga to start my day off right but couldnt even get through the first set of poses- I was all of a sudden overwhelmed with abdominal pain and could barely stand up. Finally got back home and laid down to sleep- and when i woke up i was in a cold sweat, pale as i've ever been, unable to move. My wonderful husband got me into the car and to the hospital, and before i knew it, they were rushing me into surgery to remove a large ovarian cyst that had ruptured!! I've never had surgery before so i didnt realize that i would be bed-ridden for two weeks after the operation. I sat in bed sewing, though- I really didn't want to let you guys down! And would you believe it- we are now also in the middle of moving the Avsun workroom into a spacious storefront shop!! Now that i am back on my feet, i realize that we have gotten behind. I know there are no excuses, but I just wanted to let you all into last month in the life of Saluna- so that maybe you could understand a little more as to what's going on. You know those times when life hits you particularly hard from all different directions? Unfortunately, that's what we've been experiencing. So thank you, THANK YOU for all your encouraging words, wonderful patience, and kind understanding. I love my job because I know that our commissioners are real people- and i truly believe that in no other field could i enjoy the one-on-one relationship i have in the fursuit community with our clients. Thank you so much for keeping an eye on us and believing in us!!! <3 <3 <3

Updates and FAQ
Posted 15 years agoHey everyone! Just a quick update, our site should be up soon, we have so much to show too, going to be awesome! We'll also start handing out our TOS, sorry it's taken this long to get it up. Should be posting more pics soon, just got busy again with work, need to get the rest of these foam bases photographed and shipped.
We're answering emails tonight, need to hand out lots of concepts as well :D Quote emails are also being answered.
We've been getting a lot of the same questions so I thought I might answer some here:
Do I need to send refs for a quote?
Nope, but any images/ refs you do have are very helpful. A detailed description is fine, as long as your character doesn't have any crazy markings that might be difficult to envision.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! :) We only ask for a 30% non-refundable down-payment to secure a slot/ material costs. After that we will send invoices with money payments.
My friend is getting a suit during (month) can I get my suit at the same time as them?
We have to stick to a strict schedule, so we can't accept rush orders/ orders in earlier time slots. Sorry :(
What are your heads made of?
Upholstery foam. We are also making resin head bases/ resin moving parts as well.
Do you make moving jaws?
Yup! We are offering them now :) We use something similar to Prefur's resin method/ hinged jaws.
Can you make me this copyright Character?
We do not make copyright characters, but we're happy to make "inspired by" characters. :)

Back to Work, Price Changes and Foam Bases
Posted 15 years agoWell we've been working non-stop and Esh is doing much better, thank you all so much for the get well wishes, it made him really happy to read them all :)
We will be changing prices here in the next few days, April slots are now filled so it's time for our price change :D Some items will be an additional 200 while others just 100, foam bases will be 150 USD.
Our current list of foam bases will be shipped by the end of December :) (we will be finishing them all up in a week or two here, now that we have Esh back on his feet hehehe)
We do have two slots open for foam bases to be completed by that time since two slots in our schedule opened up with just enough time :) If you want to grab a slot please email us at

Working hard to finish stuff up in time for Halloween, almost done with the two heads in the gallery along with lots of foam bases! ;) I'd also like to note here that we don't really come on here often so PM's here might go unanswered for awhile, please bear with us, we've had a few weeks with REALLY shotty internet connections, we're also working hard to get things done, prefur has been super helpful, we are mailing finished works to her for her final A-OK, want to make sure that everything is super pro quality for our commissioners as we hope to build up a good reputation as a business :) Thanks so much everyone! Sorry about the lacks of updates here on FA, but we're working hard ;)!

We should have some new WIP pics up here soon ;) been working non-stop! :D Furring a corgi today (just got the fur in finally XD) and then furring a roo. We'll be airbrushing and adding final touches when we're done furring ;)
Our halloween slots are closed! Thank you so much to those who grabbed them up :D We're still open for November slots! Remember! Our prices will start going up 150-200 U.S.D after November ;)! So grab a cheap slot while you still can :D!
We're going to see someone today about working with our small business (doing taxes and giving advise), we're excited to be registering and what not 8D Next we need to make our site and then we can start advertising here on FA ;D We're also starting to work on our own suits here and there, Esh is being sculpted and will be a cast resin, realistic Rooster ;D Saluna will be a toony kitty cat :) We want to make them quickly so we can start going to cons and makin some freeeiiiindsss ;D
