Upcoming Submission Wrestling Tournament!
Posted 8 years agoGreetings and salutations, fellow watchers and fighters of the AWFR and NFSW,
We will be having a wrestling tournament! (and strictly a wrestling tournament)
Though this tournament is hosted by the
AWFRedux, we are also inviting members of the
n-s-f-w to participate! The tournament will focused on story based RPing: the character interactions, their banter, why they fight, etc. To help this go smoothly, the tournament will span many weeks to account for different schedules, timezones, and life in general.
> The tournament will be hosted on Discord
> Male OC's only
> The matches will use a dice-based system to eliminate godmodding and leave circumstances up to luck.
> Don't gimp the system and find ways to cheat anyway.
> A moderator must be present for the fight to be legitimate
> All matches will be edited and posted.
> If you have issues with your opponent, contact the moderator in charge.
> Be considerate and a good sport. Don't start needless drama or heckling of others. (this isn't to say ignore issues, just don't be a inconsiderate dick about them. Moderators have lives and other things to attend to and cannot always answer your every whim instantaneously)
> If you will have issues with scheduling, let the moderator and your opponent know.
If you are interested in joining, contact
BearStone on his FA, Skype, or Discord BEFORE SEPTEMBER 21, next Thursday. We intend to start the tournament on the 22nd.
If you have any questions or concerns, also contact BearStone

AWFR Doodle Lottery!
Posted 8 years ago
psymera here. After sharkboss prodded me into a few art pieces, I decided I'd like to keep some momentum on that. I'd like to do more digital work and maybe get around to designing some of my OCs. As such, I'd like to open an opportunity to the group!
I'm keen on featuring folks from the AWFR in this project as well, as I can get around to it. I've got the bones of an RNG match system that will pair a random participant with either:
-a randomized opponent
-an OC from my own roster
-another registered AWFR member
-a special guest wrestler
The highlight of the matchup will also be rolled at random, though I'm open to ideas for finishers/pins to add to the list!
For those who are interested, the disclosures:
* AWFR entrants must be members in good standing. A member may register more than one character, but this will not increase the chance of being featured. (1 slot per person, if that slot is picked, a random character from that member will be chosen.)
* Characters to be registered must be wrestlers with a bio on the group's FA page.
* Contact either through this journal or find me on Skype for registration, questions, etc.
* Results are fully randomized. Everything from characters selected to the winner/loser RNGsus.
AWFR Wrestling Rumble End
Posted 8 years agoOur first wrestling tournament draws to a close, with
j-fu emerging as winner!
With hope, there will be a log of that match before the month is out. Thanks to all who participated, we hope you enjoyed it. In the end, the overall goal was to have a good time, perhaps foster some interaction that would not happen otherwise.
We now return to our regularly scheduled program of a match a week (unless strange circumstances arise. With hope that does not happen)

Wrestling Rumble Rounds 1 - 3
Posted 8 years agoThe Wrestling Rumble didn't just die out, it's been going on. Once again, the bugs weren't really ironed out. Everything is in order to have a log from the final match though, which is going on at the writing of this journal.
Here are the results of the rounds leading up to it:
Given the odd number of winners, Grimm was dice rolled to continue on as well
Thus, the final round is Kova vs. Grimm in a TLC match on the beach.
_____Credit of Characters: ___________
Jamie "Kid Cobalt" Bockmann (zuko4444)
Latin (latindragon)
Jeb "Beast of the East" Blackwater (furrytypist)
Brian Grimm (pawmageddon)
Vandred (LordIronhand)
Liam (antantant)
Barry (barrybear10)
Alex Calhira (silverfang190)
Kisari (kisariice-wolf)
Bogdan (howeed)
Rocky Starstriker (v-drift)
Seon (seonbarzard)
Vishka (starfoxfan111)
Kova (j-fu)
Here are the results of the rounds leading up to it:
Round 1: Standard Match
Jamie wins against Latin
Jeb wins against Grimm
Barry wins against Alex
Rocky advances (by dice roll)
Kova advances (by opponent forfeit)
Bogdan advances (by opponent dropping out)
Vandred advances (by opponent dropping out)
Given the odd number of winners, Grimm was dice rolled to continue on as well
Round 2: Dog Collar match
Howeed defeats Jamie
Grimm advances (via dice roll)
Kova advances (via Vandred dropping out)
Rocky advanced (via Jeb dropping out)
Round 3: Cage match, win by knockout only
Kova defeats Howeed
Grimm defeats Rocky
Thus, the final round is Kova vs. Grimm in a TLC match on the beach.

Boxing Championship Results + Wrestling Rumble Start!
Posted 8 years agoWe apologize for the lack of updates on the Boxing Championship; circumstances arose, difficulties were encountered...files were lost (Thus, we have no logs. Hopefully the same problems aren't encountered again).
Barry as owned by
barrybear10 was victorious and is our AWFR Boxing Championship winner.
Now that the boxing tournament is over, the wrestling rumble has begun. There are 14 fighters competing in this one, matched up as follows:
They have until Sunday, April 16th to complete their match. Failure to do so will result in a winner being determined by dice roll (Unless one party is unresponsive, then they'll be disqualified). With hope, the bugs in the system have ironed themselves out and the logs aren't lost this time.

AWFR RPing Tournaments!
Posted 9 years agoHello everyone! We hope your holidays have been happy and all that jazz.
At the end of March, we're planning to have our first two tournaments. Starting it off will be the "AWFR Boxing Championship", to be followed by the "AWFR Wrestling Rumble"(typical, I know. If you've got better names, let's hear em).
The special twists to these tournaments are our wildcard fighters; one of the group watchers (or even just RPer not in the group) for each tournament. Each match will be 1v1. the prize will be a picture of the winner of each tournament.
1. No godmodding or powermoves - That just makes things unfair
2. Male characters only, no exceptions - Sorry ladies. But these are not the fights you're looking for
3. A mod must be present for the fight to be legitimate (this means
BearStone,
Yarem4,
Ryltohn, or
Psymera ). - For fairness and answering questions sake
4. All fight logs will be posted. - How could you not see this coming
5. Be fair and have fun- Kind of the point of the whole thing.
> If you're interested, contact one of the mods and let them know. (Preferably in this chain of command: BearStone,Yarem4,Ryltohn ). DO THIS BEFORE FEBRUARY 28TH!
> We will draw up brackets, make sure everyone's bios and info is ready to go, that all communication channels are open...Basically handle all the logistical legwork we can think of.
> Around March 24th, we shall begin the process of moderating through fights. The brackets should be done by then, so try to contact your oponent beforehand to get to know each other's style, figure out time schedules.
>After all the boxing business is done, the wrestling business begins.
The same character can participate in both the boxing and wrestling tournament.
The wild card fighter will be voted on by the mods from the pool of applicants.
Hope you're looking forward to this as much as we are! If you have any questions or concerns, ask away.

AWF Intro + Rules and Expectations + How to Join
Posted 9 years agoWelcome, all ye looking to join our dysfunctional family wresting group! Here are a few rules and expectations we have so you know exactly what you’re getting into.
A group of people that all happen to like fighting RPs and are generally willing to talk, hang out, and/or have our characters interact. Admittedly, most interactions we have are Out of Character (Hereby, OOC), because most of us have lives we need to deal with…and that’s okay. Think of us as a way to get to know other people who probably have similar interests.
The first few items here are pretty set as rules. Everything on this list is an expectation of sorts though, and if you take them all as rules, life will probably be fine and dandy.
Don’t be a Dick – This one is overarching, covering most issues that could arise. Bad days happen and we get that. But don’t unnecessarily go after people out of character; it's very unbecoming and ruins the group for many people. This also extends to handling (out of character-wise) both defeat and victory with some degree of maturity. Out of anything, being a dick/drama-llama and sandbagging the group's good time is most likely to get a person removed from the group.
Don’t Divulge Other People’s Details – Most of our conversations happen out of character, and most members do share a good bit about their personal life. Perhaps you got to know someone pretty well and they told you something they don’t tell everyone. Please don’t share it without permission. What happens in PM stays in PM, and what happens in the group (of that nature) stays in the group . Be courteous to others and check with them first on things they’re not saying themselves.
Deal with Problems Properly – If another member or something else is bothering you, respectfully take it to that person privately. If you feel you can’t do that, message a mod. We’re around pretty consistently and will try to help as reasonably as we can. Don’t get the answer you want? Don’t whine about it and complain to every other person. Whining in public is a dick move, and we don't want to be dicks.
No Powergaming or God-moding – With that statement very sternly placed, we understand that there is some subtlety involved. There are no demons, devils, demigods, or wizards in the ring. The scope of this group is no greater than what one might find in wrestling entertainment shows. This isn't a ban on magical characters, but it is actively discouraged from in-ring action. Out of the ring, it does not give one player explicit control over another's character. Whatever happens to a character is ultimately the owning player's decision.
With that said, it is not an excuse to have a character dodge/avoid/endure/counter everything that comes at him. Even the most tough, battle-hardened characters wear down, get tired, and have flaws. Your character can't win every match. It's best to check your ego at the keyboard and focus on having entertaining matches and backstage shenanigans. Be fair to be fun, and you'll find other players are more likely to approach you in the future.
Communication is Key – Talk to people, make sure you and they understand all rules, boundaries, and terms. OOC talk exists for a reason, so use it. For example, not everyone likes erotic matches, so check with them before trying to have one. Be as clear and specific as you can while in a match too. (eg. Throwing a punch? Where are you aiming, how strong is it? )
Also, be sure to read what your opponent is doing represent that accurately. Remember their position in the ring (or out of it) and what your character did prior in order to keep a realistic flow of the match. It's a bit of an art, so don't panic if there's a mistake. Be sure to ask the other player to clarify if you're ever unsure, and please do be open to questions and critiques.
Linking back to the No Powergaming statement, if you really want to have a win (or even script a loss) for some reason (set up a rivalry/storyline or just feel good about yourself), then make that known ahead of time and ask if it's okay with the other player.
Meaning Out is Dependent on Involvement In – We get it, life happens. Most of us are dealing with work, school, family, a whole slew of things. But try to be involved when you can. Say something in the group, or pick a person and message them. Plan in a match when it works for you and someone else. If you never do anything, you’ll never gain any meaning from joining. Most matches involve a small group of characters…because most others aren’t around or available at the time. We do get that scheduling around life and timezones is difficult, but don’t just give up.
We’re All Trying Here – If you’re shy about messaging people or worried about RPing/powergaming/other things, please don’t just suffer in silence. Say something to someone; talk to them and build up trust to try a little at a time. We do expect you to have a general idea of what your character can and cannot do, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. Not every match that happens gets posted, not every match has to be completely serious. The goal here is to have fun..
On the flipside of that, understand that we’re all trying and don’t take on a snooty holier-than-thou attitude to people who don’t have it completely figured out yet. Help them up, don’t tear them down.
Final notes
> Most people don’t do scripted fights. If you and your opponent(s) want to have one, go for it. Honestly, we don’t care how you determine outcomes as long as the people involved are okay with it.
> Try as hard as you can to have decent grammar. Everything that gets posted will be edited to some degree if needed, but it’s important that other people can understand you. Use punctuation, try to make things flow properly. Preferably avoid the emotes and text talk while in character too. Subject/verb agreement would be nice, but not required. And if you're still picking up the language, we'll be glad to help there too!
>There’s no shame in looking up moves on Wikipedia, google, images, youtube, video game create-a-wrestlers… etc. It’s actually very helpful for clarity.
>In the end, we’re basically a community of people aiming to have fun. Try to build us up, not tear us apart.
Got through all of this and still interested in becoming one of us? Here’s what happens next:
• Figure out as much about your character as you can. Look at some of the bios to get an idea of what to put in yours. The basic information you’ll need is:
• Contact one of the group mods, be it BearStone, Yarem4, Kyeshep, Vecsec or Psymera. We’ll answer any questions you have, look over your bio, and give you our skype.
• Once we’re all clear on any concerns, we’ll add you to the group.
To be fair, you don’t have to have the bio done before contacting us. It’s just faster and helps us all out.

Guildlines, concern, doubts.. ETC
Posted 9 years agoMod Stone here people and things have come up. And well got me thinking about you guys mostly. So out of my lazyness and in the sense it made fucking great point. I went back to the old pages journal and copy a certain journal to help out. Thanks Ryl by the way.. he kind of made this and i will add some other.. you guys will know when i put in my two cents..
Have some issue keeping you from joining? Or having some problem now that you're in the group? Take a glance here and see if it helps! If not, your local friendly moderator is always open to notes and questions.
>I've never RPed before, I'm scared I'll do it wrong!
Don't worry about that; if you're at the bottom then there's nowhere to go but up! Check out this guide of tips ( https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5375179/ ), ask the people you're RPing with for tips, and keep an open mind. RPing is something that can take time to get used to and to get good at. We all make mistakes, and there will always be misunderstanding somt time or another. Just keep trying and ask for help (and listen to the help) when you need it.
>I can RP, but I don't know anything about fighting RPs, or any of the fighting styles!
This is something I can definately help with; I speak from experience.
For fighting RPs in general, try to visualize out the fight/moves to get an idea of what's going on. If you can, stand up and try throwing simplified versions of the moves yourslef (this will help you determine what's actually going on, how they'll look, how you'd react, etc. etc.).
For wrestling, wikiedia, youtube, google, and google images is your best freind. Wrestling games are great too; open up the "Create a Wrestler" options and go through the movesets. Any time something comes up that you don't know or havent heard of, ask the person you're RPing with about it, and/or google it, and/or try to find it in a wrestling game. This also helps when you're making actions yourself; I often have/had wikipedia pages on wrestling moves open along with skype. Eventually, you'll start learning moves and terminology yourself!
> I cant decide stuff about my character!
Know the feels! It helps to find someone you can talk the ear off of...and then just talk. List out everything you know you want about the chraracter, and listen for suggestions. It may help to start with one big main idea (I knew when I made Trevino I wanted a big biker cat. Then wolfman6712 and I fine-tuned out details. Speaking of the dude, we often make tag team characters, or come to each other with ideas and plans. It really helps). I usually iron out fine details on-the-fly while RPing, so if you need a "dummy" to help you figure stuff out, poke me!
>So I have a character...What is a good bio?
Bios range and vary so much. They...are another thing I personally have trouble doing haha. So, the bare minimum requirement in a bio is:
Name
Species (It is the ANTHRO Wrestling Federation)
Height
Weight
Appearance
Other things that might be nice to have is a few facts about them, a short description of their personality, fighting style, yadda yadda yadda. Personally, I'm sticking to the basics and answering everything else in character.
>No one is ever around when I am!
None? With jobs, school, and other factors of life, we all cant be on 24/7...true. Send out some message whenever you're around, or even figure out times with people privately. Although things do come up, there is usually some free patches of time between people that coincide.
At the very least, you can plan out a method that lets you RP a match as long as you need, uninteruppted. Generally through PM's. Notes, a seperate skype chat, whatever. ~Ryl
>One of the other members hates me!
In this world, not everyone will like you...but not everyone will hate you either. First, remember that there is "in character" and "RL" or "Out of character (OOC)" or "in person" The things a character does may not actually reflect what the person controlling them thinks. Often, Ry is major pissed...but I'm laughing my butt off.
If you've determined its actually the person hating you, try to privately message them and find out what's going on...or even message a moderator (Ryl, Stone, or Zander) to find out. Remember that this is a GROUP of people, and one person hating you shouldn't deter you from RPing with us. Things will evenyually work out...even if its to a frosty agreement of mutual dislike.
>I'm not actually a wrestler! But I want to join this "AWF!"
So? There's actually one member already who doesn't wrestle. Then there's others who do nothing but wrestle. And still others that do it all. Anthro "WRESTLING" federation is a misleading name really, because most of us will box or fight MMA style. Don't worry about it!
>I CAN'T STAND this guy! His typing is much worse when I RP with him than it is in the logs!
Remeber that the logs uploaded to the page are aften edited. If I'm not too tired, I usually try to iron out most of the glaring typos. I miss some, sometimes I get lazy, but try not to get put off by it. This is all for fun; don't let such a little thing spoil it for you. (( It also help's if you ask them to try to improve their Grammar. I for one have issues with grammar and such, but if you give me a poke about it. Then i'll try to work on it . Most of us on here usual are open to comments and suggestion. So if you have a problem just poke and work with the other. ~stone))

Allow me to quote one of the coolest lions I know:

This group is really what you make of it. If its boring, challenge someone to a fight and make it not boring!
>I'm not in the member list on the page and I've been here and stuff! What gives?
Chances are it was a mistake. I did most of it from memory and glancing at the bios in the group gallery. Otherwise, I included people and their characters that are in the skype group. All because a match you was in was uploaded to the group doesn't nesicarrily mean you're a "member" By "member" I mean someone that's usually there (or in some cases, they have the will to be there but life doesn't let them). Case in point is that Vandred has some matches in the group gallery...but he left the group. In any case, note me and we'll work it out.
This isn't really relevant anymore, since the page doesn't have a member list up! Just check the "fighter bios" section of the gallery for nearly everyone that hangs around the place. ~Ryl
