Okay, so the Dog Guide was loads of fun. :3 This year I went the more scenic route, hiking through the woods with two other dog owners. Others mostly took the highway route, but this way was way more fun and the dogs LOVED it. They were SO well behaved, I was so proud of them. They were off-leash and normally they don't like the dogs being off leash at the end spot because of fights that could break out, but my dogs were so good. I wish the walk was longer, but.. Meh. :/ The hike was sohard @_@ You never really realize how out of shape you're in until you scale some of those hills @_@ Ouch... I got some nasty cuts from scraping against branches, and I twisted my ankle quite badly, and now it's swollen >:

BUT in the end we raised about $1500, which is AWESOME because there aren't a ton of people available for walking, especially on a Sunday (fucking church-goers), plus a lot of people went to participate in Relay for Life, so I can understand not wanting to walk anymore.

Although, in my opinion, I think the Relay for Life stuff is pointless.. I have NO faith that the money is actually going to find a cure. I mean... There's no money in a cure, now is there? Millions of dollars is raised all the time to find a cure for cancer, and we have made minimal progress. If there was a cure, the money flow would stop. I loathe greed.

However, every dollar we raise goes towards the Dog Guides (aside from covering costs like rewards for walkers who raise certain amounts of money). These places that raise and train these dogs get absolutely no government funding, so they rely on our donations.. So I'm happy that we could raise a fair bit of money ^_^

Tomorrow I'll be participating in a walk to raise funds for the raising and training of Dog Guides for folks with disabilities. It's not a pledge sorta thing, it's just a donation. Afterwards I'll be doing nail clippings for some of the dogs attending the walk, and all the proceeds from that will also go to the charity. Yeah, okay, we get it, the media over-hyped it, but jesus fucking christ. Some people need to understand that, OHEY, there ARE people who need to be truly fucking concerned about this illness, especially if there's outbreaks near them. Before you go off with your 'holier-than-thou-I-don't-trust-the-media-this-is-the-truth' bullshit, fucking think before you open your mouth. When I say 'I need to pick up masks', stop fucking telling me 'O TEH MASKS DUN WORK N E WAI'. Stop telling me about how someone basically has to cough right in my face to make me sick. And when I tell you that it could be a fatal illness for me if I catch it, don't keep fucking going on and on about how someone would have to cough on my face for me to get sick. I'm IMMUNOSUPRESSED. It means if someone even fucking coughs in my fucking DIRECTION, I WILL GET SICK. Unlike a lot of you, I have no immune system to fight this, and it would turn very bad very fast.

So seriously. Those of us who are concerned already fucking get that there's 'nothing to worry about', for normal people. But keep in mind not everyone's fucking perfect. You're making yourselves look just like the douchebags in the media who are promoting this panic.
