Yes, ladies and gentlemen. It's a double wammie! We've got Homecon on Tigerdile this weekend AND my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. That means 3 more are going to win a surprise art piece in stunning, no stupid movie theater glasses rquires, 3D!
The rules here are simple: Sit back, relax, and if you're watching this account (which likely you are), then you're already on the ballot as it were. 3 winners will be picked and in the tradition of chaos and surprise, no one will know who won until the deed is done.
All 379 watchers are on the wheel. Let's GO!

're really trying to find out who it is:
"Furries should .be all that they can .be unless its dealing with a Furry Beast"
Wow. That sounds like a contradiction out of context. Stay on the line if you haven't figured it out. We'll be back with our winner and two more spins to go.

Adventures 2 Hours Away IN CANADA!
General | Posted 11 years agoSo for anyone who saw my post in Twitter about getting detained at the border, having my glasses destroyed, and engaged by a SWAT team, its ALL true. However, They are not chronologically related. Or in other words, I wasn't approached by a SWAT team at the border and had my glasses smashed in while resisting..... NO- that would not be fun and I probably would not be home writing about it right now. Nah, I was just going to Howloween 2014 in Vancouver but I was held for an hour while they searched my car. I took the time to see the museum of things they have seized over the last couple decades. It seems the poaching and smuggling of animals parts is alive and well. I also took the time to read the pamphlets and learned what to expect on my next time through.
Howloween itself was awesome. I haven't had that much fun since AFF 2009. Its also the little group games that make the difference and its small size allows me connect with new people much easier. You're an awesome host
aphinity
Alas the real problem happened at the end of the night because my Credit Union and their outsourced card services security department is geographically inept- if not, RETARDED. Despite being able to easily drive to Vancouver within 2 hour, my so called fraud protection freaked out the moment I tried to make a purchase from a foreign country which Canada technically is. The deeper and most infuriating problem however is that my beloved fraud protection department hates doing work. They didn't call me within the hour of shutting off my card long enough to have it overlap with A 14 HOUR NETWORK maintenance. Actually, they had 3 hours to call me before the maintenance but I guess that was too much work! So by the time, I had found out about it, no one could look up my account to enable my card services again. If I hadn't topped off before I crossed the border, that would have been a HUGE disaster.
My glasses got smashed from a random fur being careless while playing "I have". I didn't mind since my frames are almost 5 years old and I was waiting for a moment like that to happen. What pissed me off is when it surmounted with my "card services" problem. I couldn't wear outdated contacts forever and needed to get my frames replaced immediately. Only a $23 purchase was keeping my from me proper sight but even after I got a hold of card services, it took them another 8 hours to fully restore my card. 2 days I was without being able to make any purchases due to their incompetence. The is no excuse for a Credit Union that operates in Washington State.
Oh yeah, the SWAT team. No, I didn't get SWATTED- I heard that's all the rage with some trolls today- the kind of trolls that belong in federal prison IMO. No, it was freak random! I was nodding off on the way home so I decided to sleep for an hour at a rest stop in Whatcom County. 45 minutes into my sleep, I heard a single alarm go off somewhere. It went on for 3 minutes then stopped. I ignored it for a few minutes but eventually when I sat up, I was surrounded by police cars. Police and deputies were armed with shotguns and the K9's were out in full force. When they saw me, I was briefly flashed with the tactical flashlights on their guns. "Get down", I heard and I thought that mean to get down on the ground so I was proceeding to open the door with my hands up. I think then they realized with misunderstanding. "No No - Stay in your car and stay low" and that's what I did though I still kept my head high enough to peek at what was going on. They had a white SUV pulled over at the other then of the rest stop. A man and a woman with their hands up. The doors were already wide open with deputies in a frantic search. Obviously, they were looking for a 3rd guy on foot. I personally though it was pretty cool getting to get a glimpse of their processes in action from the search and seizure onto the K9 units. I also noticed the way they parked their cars around me was done that way to deter anyone on foot from using me or my vehicle as cover. 15 minutes into it, they marked the place safe enough for me to turn around and leave on the other size of the rest stop. They've obviously chased that what SUV into rest stop. Pretty dumb of those crooks to think the could run or hide in a rest stop that surrounded by fence. Pfff, morons.
Other than the bullshit with my geographically inept fraud department, it was an exciting and educational 24 hours.

FaceRig: Teddy Hat for Fluffo
General | Posted 11 years agoA new version of the Teddy Hat for Fluffo is out. The InstallProp program is much more streamlined and doesn't require processing through Phidias or the CDP. Just run it and go.

Hey, I need testers. Facerig + Teddyhat Prop for Flufoo
General | Posted 11 years agoSo the other night I found another tutorial for importing custom props like my Teddy Hat into Facerig. It's a bit more complicated so I cooked up another program called InstallProp. It comes packaged with the TeddyHat for Fluffo so if you're willing to give it try. Download it here.
At this point, its a one-of-a-kind prop until the import process becomes better streamlined. Do let me know if things break. Beta is Beta if you know what I mean.

Facerig! Good News! Bad News!
General | Posted 11 years agoSo if you've you seen my recent twitter, FA, and DA post, I've learned how to make and import custom props into facerig. That is indeed good news. In addition, I've made a script that makes importing custom props and avatars a little easier- not fully automatic but easier none the less so that's good'er news.
Now for the bad and again, Facerig is Beta and as I always say "Beta is Beta". There is a problem with Facerig's LAU scripts where it can't import textures properly if its installed in a path with a space in it. As most of us know, programs like Steam prefers to install to the default: Program[space]Files[space](x86).
So that already crushes the hopes of being able to share custom props with others. But what about just copying/moving Face into a different directory? Sorry, when moving facerig to another directory, the communitydataprocessing.bat script will not adapt to the path it was moved to and it will start pitching a fit about not finding files in its own frickin directory. To make this work myself, I had to move steam and all its apps in the C:\games folder, nuke the facerig folder from the steamapps directory and reinstall facerig into the new directory.
In a nutshell, you can't properly import custom props or content if you install steam/facerig in its preferred default directory of C:\program files\
It was mentioned in forums that Holotec is improvising the process as again, its Beta. Hopefully we'll see a turn around soon.

The Western Grey Muzzle and RF 2014
General | Posted 11 years agoIt's not to say that I didn't have a good time at all but it is a fact that I've been doing furry cons for 17 years and at some point, simply attending one doesn't really bring anything new to the plate. I think I need to start approaching furry cons from a different view point esepcially for conventions as large as Rainfurrest has become. I think in the future, I will be focusing on running panels related to fursuit performance and 3D modeling (more focus on the latter). I have to face it, the fandom in its entirety is still growing. In several panels, it has been asked who was here at RF as their first convention ever. The number of hands raised was impresive. Alas, that also means obscurity is increased which didn't help when I was trying to find my targets for the secret badge assault although the last one found made for an interesting story. I was searching for
moistcat since early Thursday. It was late into Saturday and I was trying enjoy myself at the rubber party but my energy was just too wiped. I just couldn't stay up as late as I could in my 20's along with doing fursuiting and artistry. I cut out at 1:00 AM and bummed by the fact that I was already giving up for the night with two targets I still haven't found yet lucky for me, one of the targets lives in the area so I'm likely to find him later at another meet.
It was at that moment when I entered the elevator to get to the parking garage that
moistcat was standing there in the same elevetor in fursuit. As much as I wanted to be sneaky about it, if I didn't deliver it now, I would surely lose him in the dance. It was the one time that "random" had surely worked in my favor. 2 out of 3 targets found.
My next fur meet will be the Pool Party in Oregon, Further Confusion, and BLFC. My future goals will at least be to get one piece into a con book and run a panel in BLFC, Vancoufur, or both. I guess I better start hitting the forums. Expect me to be more involved in the artistry side of things. As much as I like hanging out with familiar friends, they're always going to be there. I need to explore a different perspective to keep things anew and to meet new people.

Update on Animated Icons
General | Posted 11 years agoFor those of you who've won an animated icon, rest assured that I haven't forgotten them. Being that they are pilot icons, they're subject for rigorous testing whilst trying to figure out the best method for getting the most quality and frames out of the 50KB limit that FA has. Along that news, 1 of the 3 icons is complete and I've been able to work in 24 frames/32 colors at 45KB and it looks pretty decent as compared to previous attempt where I had to dumb down to 16 frames and 8 colors which is very tight. 24 frames allows me to do much more especially with the new method for eyes. The remaining 2 icons will be reworked to take advantage of these new methods. Stay tuned.
Is your icon looking static? I need volunteers. [Times Up!]
General | Posted 11 years agoTimes up. All applicants are locked in and going up on a wheel.
The wheel has spoken: Congrats to our 3 volunteers:
dragon2th
arcturax
stellacat123
I'm running a pilot for animated icons just like mine. I need 3 volunteers for this pilot. If you like a chance to get a free animated icon, leave a comment here. 3 volunteers will be drawn at random at the end of today. Good luck.

[Video] Mascot Mischief
General | Posted 11 years agoThis year, I was able to give a nearby family event something they've never had before, costumed characters. While the changing space wasn't up to par, there were plenty of volunteers fascinated with being a mascot and thus this year was the first time I took a back seat to train new recruits as it were. This also allowed me to use my hands to film all the antics and now they're edited together for sharing to the world. Enjoy

That's right! I hope all of you fellow country-furs had a relaxing holiday but you don't need to be American to join on this party. This is a celebration of all watchers in the World but for those relatively new watchers, here are the rules:
1. Kick back
2. Relax
3. Let the wheel pick a winner for free art
And as with tradition on the Wheel of Watchers "No one will know who won till the art is done". A major holiday for us has just passed so its 3 spins this time. Let's go ahead and get our first winner- here we go!!!
*pulls the wheel back a few ticks*
WhiIiIrRrRrRrRrRrRrRdrdRdRDrRdRdRdrdtdtdtctcticticticticatica ticktick tick.. tick... tick...... tick
And here is the clue:
She's no Hank and I don't remember if she is 6 foot 1 but she is tons o fun and she'd dress to a T... if there are any clothes that fit.
Stay tuned to find out who it is and for our 2nd spin coming up. Be there or be cube!

Summer Cleaning, WoW:FS, and Commission Prices Update
General | Posted 11 years agoWell perhaps i got a little bit lazy in the Spring being we in the Northwest US were deprived of precious sunlight and daylight for so long but it is time to take care of some clutter both online here and in the apartment. Expect changes soon.
Wheel of Watchers will be going for another Free Spin, May 26th so keep an eye on your journals around then
Commissions are still open for both full models, busted badges, and full body badges:
Badges as described below are fully cut out, laminated, and delivered in person or via mail within the continental US and Canada. Other countries - let's talk.
Busted Badge - Your bust (shoulder up) modeled, colored, with fur or shine effects at no extra cost - Excellent for fursuits. ($15).
Full Body Badge - Just like a Busted Badge only its a full model. Again, fur and shine effects at no extra cost $25
The Works - A full character model in a pose of your liking. Fur and shine effects at no extra cost. Fully rendered in a turning animation including stills an a thumbnail ready for posting to your FA or Weasyl. $35. $10 for each extra character.
Payment for badges is due after the artwork is complete however commissions are due after the draft is created and approved from which afterward the color and effects are then applied.
blowupnshowup is applying some new ground rules fairly soon so check with them in a few days for updates on the latex, furry, and fluffy side of things.

General | Posted 11 years agoAlrighty- I've got a well decorated plastic egg- just a step above those cheap ones you get at Walmart and other fine retailers *shakes it*....
That's funny. It's making a very familiar ticking noise. Let's open it up and see whats inside
*CRACK* WHEEL OF WATCHERS: FREE SPIN!
Wow! It looks some Easter Bunnies other than myself have been paying attention! That's right folks- both longing for the scent of Spring AND Sugar Free, its the Wheel of Watchers: Free Spin and that means one lucky watcher will win a free model of their fursona. If you're watching, you are entered so sit back and relax and let the wheel do the rest.
Here we go!
*WhiRRRRRRrRRRrrRrrrrrdrdrdrdrdrrrdrrtctctctticaticaticaticatick tick.. tick..... tick..... tick*
*Picks up the slice with a watcher's name on it
And in traditional Wheel of Watchers fashion, here is your clue.
"Wings aren't that useful when you weigh half a toon"
We'll find out who it is soon enough. Stick around.

Wheel of Watchers: Free Spin
General | Posted 12 years agoLive from the West Coast via Western Washington. Its time for a Wheel of Watcher's Free Spin. Here's your host, Axel "Sooty" Roo!!
January 18th was the day at FC, I turned 33 but alas I was given the gift of Bronchitis over the course of the convention. None the less, we are moving forward with the new segment of Wheel of Watchers, the Free Spin which happens during lesser holidays and maybe even just because. 1 in 316 current watchers have a chance to get a free model but no one will know who won... until the deed is done- because we're all about surprises.
So lets find out who wins the very first Free Spin. Let's go.

*picks up the slice with the winning name underneath*
And for those who are curious, here is your clue: "Delicious but don't be surprised if a red-head goes on a litigation spree"
Stick with us folks. The truth will be revealed soon.

Stay tuned for the over bloated conclusion.

FC 2014 Summary (TY's & FY's)
General | Posted 12 years agoSo what happened, Axel? I hardly saw you at FC if not, at all?
Well, I got sick. Soon as I departed from my house. I felt a cough coming on but I usually get that when I haven't slept in a while but on the trip down riding with Flinters, Tibo, ShawnTheGirl, Panda Phil, and my roommate Tyrnn, things started to go downhill and the rest was history.
However, with a good nights rest, I was confident I would be able to recover however the Motel 6 in Redding, CA had other ideas and the receptionist made sure we were roomed next to a family whom talk aloud like they're the only ones in the motel with paper-thin walls blocking no sound, and of course a youngster hell-bent on crying through the middle of the night with parents hell-bent on ignoring the tyke's needs for comfort. Mind you, I'm not blaming the baby- that's what they do at that age- Its an around-the-clock thing but ignorant parents, I very much blame them. So to the hole-ridden, and apathetic Motel 6 in Redding, CA, 2#$% you!
Unable to get some good rest, the cold got the best of my just in time for the con. I made a point not to hang around the dealers den like I do traditionally and just get in, get stuff, and get out. I had a feeling if I did, the rest of the gang would catch it during the con. Better later than sooner in this case.
The 2nd problem was with trying to rest at the con in the Marriot. I was staying with a good friend, Aphinity and Rainrat. Both are wonderful fursuiters and I love them very much so I'm not going to growl at the them because no one really intends to snore in order to keep people up but my goodness, they do snore. It doesn't help that my ears are the keenest parts on me as compared to my eyes but none the less I had to sleep through the day while they were out to get some meaningful rest. So to my friends, thank you for sharing a room with me but to sleep apnea and other sleep related disorders, @#$% you! I just can't seem to escape them whenever I go to FC and alas, at near point-blank range, ear plugs didn't work too well.
With my energy cut in half, I decided to mentor Jacfox and Turbobunny into first-time suiting instead of suiting up myself and I'm happy they both a good time especially with Jacfox in the fursuit parade. Most of my time was spent with "my boss" (term of endearment) Takumori, the one I make inflatable fursuit designs for. I even got to romp round in an inflatable dragon suit for half an hour. Its during that time I learned that I am no kind of breath-play person at all (cold doesn't help). I need to be able to breathe unrestricted in order to stay comfortable in these suits but the good news is that these suits with the small breathing tubs is just a preference of Taku and that these suits can easily be made with my ideas for ventilation in mind. Still it was a good experience in terms of self-discovery.
When I felt good enough, most of my time was spent at the artists tables in the convention center hanging out and working on art or more suit concepts. Those were the most relaxing times for me. There were some people like
deezlberries in and out of costume whom I wanted to chat with but I decided to keep my distance because I rather not send a "gift" back across the pond so sorry to those who wanted to chat but I felt it would be better not to take the risk.
My big Thank You! goes to the new artists I met at the tables and the kind exchanges.
My big @#$% YOU! goes to the ignorant (possibly deaf) arses playing on their Game Boys, iPads, and Android devices with the music and sound fx full blast and the same repeating background music for hours- drove me up the wall. Seriously, you come to a con to do that same crap you do at home except you get to shove it down everyone else's ears? How about next time, you give me your con registration money. stay home and watch me make much better use of it even with a cold. Is your imagination that stagnated in pop culture that this all you can do to express yourself? Video games? Even artists here half of which love videos games at the least have their own artistic take on video games and that's good enough. Blasting your gaming devices however while people nearby are trying to concentrate on their own artistic endeavors... no- that's not expression- that's just annoying and belligerent. Stay home until your true imagination thaws out. Hopefully sooner than later or worse, never.
I wish I was able to do more but alas, illness can happen at least wanted times such as this but hey, I don't have to take any time off to attend
vancoufur so why the heck not? Many thanks to the Marriot and their cleaning staff and their awesome job keeping our room tidy. Its the best I've seen to date. No one got trapped in the elevators as far as I know so that has to be a good point.
The best day was on the trip back as those were the days I was able to get some genuine rest. The Motel 6 in Rice Hill, Oregon reminded my that not all Motel 6's are cheap cardboard buildings with shady belligerent occupants and it was the best sleep I had at a Motel 6- in some ways better than the Marriot. Because of them I'm now in the phase of fighting this garbage off hopefully before this weekend when work starts back up. Hopefully many of you will be attending Vancoufur so I can meet and greet with you without health issues this time. See ya soon if the stars align.

Wheel of Watchers - Free Spin 1/18/2014 & Wildcard Drawing
General | Posted 12 years agoHello Everyone. This post is here to inform you of two contests. The 2nd contest will be in a separate post following this.
As you know the Wheel of Watchers is usually done on a major holiday with 3 winners. However in the US, the next major holidays can be at quite a distance apart from each other.
So to compensate, were starting the Wheel of Watchers Free Spin on lesser holidays and events with 1 lucky winner. The first free spin starts January 18th during FC. Why? It's my Birthday and that's a holiday for me.
See the details about the other drawing in the next post, Wheel of Watchers: Wild Card.
