Posted 7 years agoHeading to AC this weekend! Going to be driving about 10 hours and plan to get there as early as possible Thursday. Not bringing all the suits, but there will be a pinkish-purple wyvern flapping about at some point!
I'm really really looking forward to seeing friends there! Also some big Pokemon Go events happening over the weekend that I must take part in as well. *Tips hat to my Squirtle Squad*
My goals are more geared toward socializing and suiting this year. Probably won't hit too much paneling unless I need to fill some time, and going to cut back on art commissions as well. May commission one or two if something really excites me, but I am going to attempt to refrain this year.
Who will I see there? What are your plans? :D
PS I just realized I hardly have any suit photos in this gallery. Hmmmm.... may have to change that....

2017 in Review

What a ride 2017 has been.
What an unexpected ride.
There's so much to say about what I experienced in 2017 that if I wrote it all out in detail this would be way too long, so I'll try to summarize. It'll still be long.
My year started off on a really high note. Started a 'thing' with a couple friends at the end of 2016 so my year started off on a New Relationship Energy high. It had been a long time since I felt such invigoration as my partner and I at the time had been together for 10 years. Nothing wrong about that length of time, but it does lend a sense of routine, so I was thankful for our open relationship so I might experience that exciting newness that comes with meeting others.
On the work side of my life however, things were going downhill. I was really unhappy with my job and my anxiety levels skyrocketed. I ended up making a really hard decision to take a step back and go part time. Not the best thing financially, but I had some savings to supplement it until I could find something else. It was absolutely the right decision for my mental health, however. After a month or so I was really noticing a change in me!
Things hadn't been going well with my partner at the time, and in the Spring I finally went to him about it. We mutually decided it was time to separate. We were each going in directions that neither of us could follow and even though it was hard to let go of that part of my life, it was inevitable at that point.
As the year went on things really took a turn. As to refrain from going into personal details, I had a rough couple of months with one of the friends mentioned above and we ultimately severed our friendship. This was a really hard thing for me as I really value friendships. However this person turned out to be a very different person than I thought they were from the outset. Our perspective on things conflict, and there is nothing I can do about it.
So to add to the confusion of this year - so many things being intensely negative and/or painful on one hand - on the other hand things were going really well in other areas. I was in love with someone I never expected to fall for. I was drowning in love and adventure.
Another perk from going part time was now I had SO MUCH FREE TIME!! I have worked a lot since I was a teen and couldn't remember any time since I started working that I had this much free time on my hands. I used it to do things I hadn't been able to do in a long time. Travel! I went on several road trips with my new love throughout the spring and summer visiting friends and stopping to see sights along the way. Such enriching experiences!
As the summer waned, I was starting to feel the impending financial pressure of my dwindling savings. I needed to start working full time again, but the though of going back to my current job for those hours crushed me. I felt stuck. I had been looking around and even traveled across the country for an interview earlier in the year, but I wasn't putting enough effort into it. I had to step it up.
In August I was offered a job! It was hard decision for me though as the job they offered required me to start the following week. Normal jobs that wouldn't be a huge deal, but this one would mean that in less than a week I would be leaving my home for a month for training. In that time I would somehow have to find a place to live in a new state and prepare for said move. It sounded incredibly stressful, and I am a person who likes to take time to do big things. They said if I didn't take it that I could apply for the next round but there would be no guarantee that I'd get in. This was a guarantee. It was scary and I felt so much pressure. But I took it.
Stressful it was! However, I got some incredible help from my new love. While I was busy learning the ropes of my new job, she was out checking out the city I was to move to and setting up viewings at apartments. She did all the hard work of weeding through all the junk and found the good stuff. I owe so much to her for this. Without this help I doubt I'd be in the place I am now.
To add to the stress of the year, during my training when I was away, a cat I had together with my ex passed away. He had been sick for a long time and I knew it was coming, but that still didn't soothe the pain I felt of his passing. To make it worse I couldn't be there for him at the end.
The year 2017 felt as though it was a blender that my life tripped and fell in to. Some parts fun, some parts painful, some parts scary. Swirling around, breaking up, turning into something new. But would that new thing be good or bad?
The answer is good. Very good.
So here I am. It's 2018 and my life looks drastically different than it did one year ago. My life took a path that I did not see coming. However I am happier than I have been in a long time. I live in a home I love, I have a job I love, and I'm dating a person whom I love. I feel enriched, and have a very hopeful and positive view on my future.
2018, let's do this!

Wow what a year so far!

Early in the year I pulled back from my job a bit because it was a huge source of my anxiety. Went to part time, even though I really should not have financially. I needed it mentally. It was the right decision.
Spent much of that extra time taking care of myself and road tripping across the country. So much fun finally having the time to really travel and visit far away friends! Something I haven't been able to do outside of conventions in a long time.
After several months though I had to really start looking more seriously about getting back to regular work and the thought of going back to full time at that current job was disheartening. This really lit the fire under my rear to finally get a move on my career and find some work in an adjacent field - flying for a living.
I had only flown for work part time as a second job before, so was a bit intimidated about the thought of doing it for realsies. In summary I got one! What a whirlwind though as the day they called and offered me the job they wanted me to start work less than a week after that! As scary as it was I accepted.
Less than a week later I'm away from my home to spend a month training and looking for a place to live in a new state. Managed to get a place I really like, and I couldn't have done it without the help of Rhos . She drove all over town looking at places for me while I was stuck in a classroom. I am so grateful to her for doing that. <3
But here I am now! It's November and I live in a new state with a new job and a fresh new chapter in life! Things are really looking up, and I never would have though I'd be in such a good place already. My outlook on my future was pretty bleak at the beginning of the year, but it really turned around fast.
In the mean time I've been working on the team for the 2018 Fursquared poster and having fun with that! MFF is right around the corner and I can't freakin wait! So many good friends coming together.
I'm really excited to see where my life leads next!

Fursquared 2017 is overwith and I had a great time. Got to see and hang out with good friends and enjoy the general fuzziness. The theme was a blast and the con book art, badges, and t-shirts done by 
Ironfeathers was absolutely spectacular!Now it is time to plan for next year! I have taken over as lead on the convention poster, and am already getting to work with my artist team to make it amazing for 2018!

Posted 8 years agoAhhhh this feels so nice! I was getting so overworked and overstressed by my jobs and it was slowly driving me mad, and I just had to make a change for my sanity. Despite it maybe not being the best idea financially, I cut my workload in half. Mentally I know it was the absolute correct thing to do. I've been feeling so much more relaxed, and actually having time to be creative and draw has been the best thing! Who knows, maybe I'll actually get to start posting more of my own art soon!!
I am using this time to hunt for a better job, but I kinda hope that it takes me a few weeks before I have to jump back into the full time racket. :P

Possibly! I like eating in big groups, but please don't just invite yourself.

Back from Anthrocon!
Posted 9 years agoWow, what a weekend!
Draggor and I loaded up the Batplane and flew out of Chicago early Thursday morning and arrived to the hotel early afternoon. The weather was perfect and it was a smooth easy flight. Draggor learned very quickly how to keep the plane on course so he ended up flying about an hour of it! XD
I originally didn't have a whole lot planned for Thursday but that changed very quickly! It seemed my days were filling with more things than they could hold. I felt picked up and whisked away on the currents of the convention - often losing track of time and missing some things / people.
SO MUCH SUITING. This was my first time suiting at AC, and in a place where the general public loved us so much! Had a couple long suiting sessions with
ManuKoaSuit while I was in Raspberry. When the both of us roamed around together the people loved us! We could hardly take a step before more people wanted photos. Super fun!
Axikor was a hit as well, and I was wearing that suit for the parade. OMGosh the parade! I've never been so excited and so exhausted during a parade and it was soooo muuuchhh fuuun!!! The outside section was cheering for us so loudly, it was an amazing experience!
Moltar was only out publicly once, and again for a couple room parties Sunday night. Had some trouble with his vision, so I didn't wear him a whole lot.
Currently in the process of washing suits and repairing some minor damage. Axikor broke most of his claws in the excitement of the parade, so I'm making some new ones.
Met and hung out with so many awesome people too!

Khrystal_Dax - glad I saw you at least for a few seconds! We GOTTA find each other one of these cons and actually hang for a bit! XD

So many more of you to thank and acknowledge! Just because you aren't mentioned here does not mean you are forgotten! Apologies to those I was unable to meet up with! These large cons can be difficult in that regard.
I feel so fortunate to have made so many friends in the past few years. You all mean so much to me.
The last day, Monday, was a stressful one for me. Between fighting PCD, packing up all the stuff, and the gloomy weather I knew I was flying into, I was trying hard to keep a good spirit. The flight home was very challenging. There were many layers of clouds to fly through, and some quite thick. Finding openings between or on top was tricky, but once in a clear zone the scenery was quite amazing. Draggor took some video of our cloud adventures, and I hope it gets posted sometime in the future. Weather was still gray, but much clearer on our approach to Chicago. Had a nice smooth landing, and got the plane put away safely.
I was so pooped out when I got home that when I finally was able to relax it was such a wonderful relief. I passed out hard that night!
Overall, this was an incredible convention for me! PCD hasn't hit too hard this time around, so I am thankful for that as well. I cannot wait for the next con! Hope to see you all there!!!

Apologies to those I was unable to meet up with! These large cons can be difficult in that regard.
I feel so fortunate to have made so many friends in the past few years. You all mean so much to me.
The last day, Monday, was a stressful one for me. Between fighting PCD, packing up all the stuff, and the gloomy weather I knew I was flying into, I was trying hard to keep a good spirit. The flight home was very challenging. There were many layers of clouds to fly through, and some quite thick. Finding openings between or on top was tricky, but once in a clear zone the scenery was quite amazing.
Draggor took some video of our cloud adventures, and I hope it gets posted sometime in the future. Weather was still gray, but much clearer on our approach to Chicago. Had a nice smooth landing, and got the plane put away safely.I was so pooped out when I got home that when I finally was able to relax it was such a wonderful relief. I passed out hard that night!
Overall, this was an incredible convention for me! PCD hasn't hit too hard this time around, so I am thankful for that as well. I cannot wait for the next con! Hope to see you all there!!!

Back from MFF!
Posted 10 years agoGot back from the con yesterday and boy am I pooped! Spent a good chunk of the day washing Raspberry, and doing a bunch of other stuff around the house. Now jumping back into the work week, and I'm totally not ready for that yet.
Suiting was so much fun! I was amazed at the reception Axikor had at the con. So many people stopped me to get photos and told me that it was a really cool suit. *beams* I was not expecting such love for the first suit I ever made. ^_^ This has been the best con experience ever for me, which is saying a lot cause this past Anthrocon was pretty dang amazing for me as well!
I've got a busy busy schedule this week, but I'm hoping to find some time to scan in the art I picked up, as well as post a couple photos that I managed to get. Since I was suiting most of the time, I hardly have any pics of me in either suit. If you find any floating around out there I would love to see them!

Flight Rising registration opens today!
Posted 10 years agoFlight Rising, a virtual pet dragon game is usually closed for new registrants. For 24 hours they are opening starting this morning!
Somehow the developers have figured out how to make this game super addictive. You can collect tons of dragons and breed them for genes and color combos. There are games and you can battle monsters. Huge forum base, and a lot of user-made stories and games as well. Not to mention a battle each week for flight dominance!

So suddenly SAI hates my tablet
Posted 10 years agoI've been using my wacom tablet with SAI just fine on my laptop for well over a year, and now for no obvious reason the touch functions for moving the canvas around no longer work properly. This issue would pop up now and then, but I could always fix it by closing the program and restarting it. Now it is stuck, and I've googled the heck out of it and cannot find the solution.
I've updated the wacom drivers and restarted my computer a couple times. All the presets in SAI seem unchanged, but it's been a while since I've fiddled with it when originally setting up my tablet.
The pinch zoom, scroll, etc seem to be the only thing affected, and only in SAI. It works everywhere else.
Can anyone help me? I can still work on my art but this issue makes it much more annoying to do so. Having to manually move my canvas around.. uughh.

It's a game of collecting dragons. Breeding them for cool genes, breeds, etc. You can fight them, dress them up, share them, and more! So many fun things to collect, and games to play. Tons of forums to chat with other folks too, and often the players will set up their own games and raffles and such.
