Why people don't trust "THE JAB".

I've already had 'rona, and it was more mild than a cold for me and lasted all of 3-4 days. Apparently people with high levels of Vitamin D are more likely to get the mild or asymptomatic version, and that was coming directly from my doctor.
Anyway, I'll break it down as to why other people don't want the vax:
-Communist China Lied, and People Died.
China allowed travel and such to continue when they knew about corona months before the rest of the world, so they could hoard PPE supplies, thus spreading corona globally out of control.
The head of the W.H.O. and the head Virologist in America both had direct ties to the Wuhan lab where this virus, that even the democrats are now saying came from a "lab leak", is from... The very same thing that was called a "conspiracy theory" of the "right wing" a year earlier and would get people banned just for whispering it.
-The U.S. lied and people died, by keeping it's boarders open and not grounding air travel.
-TRUMP rushed the vaccine process. So people I know on the left will not trust anything Orange Cheeto Man did.
And people on the right don't trust the current administration.
-The vaccinations are EMERGENCY APPROVALS, and IMMUNE TO LAWSUITS, with NO IDEA OF LONG TERM SIDE EFFECTS (with 2 of those vaccines classified as "gene therapy" by the FDA), all for a virus that has a 99%+ SURVIVAL RATE for people under 60 years of age. https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4860.....mortality-rate
-The vaccines don't fully stop the spread of the virus (called shedding), they just make it less likely to get a severe reaction to it.

The pure fact that "journalism" or "News" is "left or right wing" alone is a red flag for many people that think the news media should just report the news without opinion or idiot "pundits" or bullshit click-bait.
-The same government officials and media that had exclaimed "The un-vaccinated can die for all I care!" suddenly pretending they "care" about the un-vaccinated, comes off as fake and suspect now.
-Meanwhile politicians and supposed "Doctors" and "Scientists" telling everyone to wear 2-4 masks and socially distance even with the vaccine are CONSTANTLY CAUGHT NOT FOLLOWING THEIR OWN RULES!
How many politicians have been caught having massive parties, dinner gatherings indoors, or full blown concerts and protests with dozens, hundreds, and even THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE all shoulder to shoulder and without masks?
The olympics? Lollapalooza? The BLM riots and protests all last year? Obama's massive Hollywood celebrity mask-less birthday party? ALL given a "free pass" and not criticized by the media or "powers that be", but if two random non-elite-people show up at a bar it is suddenly HOW DARE THEY!?!?!?!
Because of the Olympics there is a "lambda" version that the Japanese were hiding and they have found it is "vaccine resistant" and already has spread all over the world... All so they could have their stupid lowest rated Olympics in history.
-And now the governments of the world are trying to say it is all the average person's fault and that we need to go full authoritarian/totalitarian on people and FORCE people to take an EXPERIMENTAL DRUG. Then they wonder why people are anti-vax or protesting against it.

If the government and media were more trustworthy and NOT SO FUCKING HYPOCRITICAL, if pharmaceutical companies weren't so greedy and evil, then more people would have WILLINGLY gotten the vaccine.

There is no reason George should have been held on the ground like that with 3+ cops around. I don't care how many drugs someone was on or how many pregnant women they robbed at gun point in the past. He wasn't a "clear and present danger" at the time of arrest, especially when already handcuffed. He should have been in the back of the cop car and taken to the station.
Cops shouldn't be allowed to go all "Judge Dredd" on people.
Unfortunately, this verdict will likely be appealed and the cop will be acquitted because of personal and political "jury intimidation" from mobs to celebrities to politicians. The news, celebrities, blue checkmarks, and politicians were calling for outright insurrection and riots and "hunting down the jurors" and "Burning everything down" if they didn't get the verdict they "wanted".

The debug standalones still work to play archived FLASH files. Just set the "Open With..." to the flash projector and your archived files should work like original.
It is one thing to end support for something, I can understand that... It is another thing entirely when they not only end, but retroactively break the now unsupported thing.
I don't give a crap about the "muh securities" people, if YOU don't want to use it, fine. This is like the same dingleberries that think the end of support for Windows 7 meant it would self destruct and steal their identity as if independent anti-virus or malware programs didn't still exist.
I like to archive internet things and furry animations since a lot of furry artists can be a fickle and unstable bunch, prone to vanishing without notice at the drop of a hat, especially with the growing censorship and purity police and toxicity that social media has unleashed.
There are a few other flash players out there, and some being developed to work in-browser. But right now it looks like chrome and firefox are actively blocking flash emulators unless you are using their beta builds (nightly) and turning off add-on signing.

Also, CO2 is not the "big evil" these priests of climate change make it out to be, WATER VAPOR, OXYGEN, and NITROGEN ARE! But it doesn't sound as scary to say water and oxygen are the biggest drivers of climate change.
I'm NOT saying it is not real, I'm NOT saying we shouldn't strive for clean air and water... I'm saying that scamming and lying to people to make "Big Green" money with an unscientific religious zeal is scammy and scummy and hurts scientific fields as a whole (especially now when it is hard to get funding for scientific studies without somehow tying them into global warming)!
Science is not immune from political agendas or money funding bias. Scientists are not gods among men. The IPCC and NOAA have both been caught multiple times falsifying data to get funding and purposely leaving out SOLAR CYCLES from nearly all their "models" (I've personally worked on and seen how they place certain weather monitoring stations in areas that would skew results like being near A/C exhaust, or in black asphalt parking lots. I was "removed" from this monitoring project when I brought this up and mentioned it would likely skew results.)

The IPCC and NOAA have both been caught multiple times falsifying data to get funding and purposely leaving out SOLAR CYCLES from nearly all their "models" (I've personally worked on and seen how they place certain weather monitoring stations in areas that would skew results like being near A/C exhaust, or in black asphalt parking lots. I was "removed" from this monitoring project when I brought this up and mentioned it would likely skew results.)

Why do people GHOST online and in the real world more now?

So, why is it people just VANISH these days instead of either "telling someone off" or dropping by to say "hello" now and then? Even if you really don't have much to say other than "hello".
This is called "Ghosting", where you just vanish from someone's life without saying a goodbye or occasional hello.
People are more fickle these days.
Social media has made people actually LESS social as they do more and more interaction "online" and in text than they do in real life.
And when people's communication is just "texting", actual "live" social sessions become awkward because they can't edit what they say in a real world conversation. So while someone may be a "brilliant diva" online, they can often be a stuttering and socially awkward mess in the real world.
Hell just look at the aversion to something as simple as making a phone call. This is an actual phobia that is becoming "freakishly common" with Millennials and beyond where the mere thought of having to talk to another person on the phone causes anxiety issues. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephone_phobia This is also transferring over to "face to face" conversations as people avoid more and more real world social interaction.
I also notice people are more likely to "Ghost" in the real world because of social media, where if they don't know you in the "real world" they are more likely to get bored and just stop communicating altogether with someone even before meeting in real life... So there is a massive disconnect from realizing people online are still people in the real world, and this often translates to them doing the same things in the real world that they are used to doing online and visa-versa... People you actually know and THOUGHT you were friends with, just up and break off all communication with absolutely no explanation then create their own anxiety of conflict, "good or bad", to the point that they "ignore and block" people that could literally be face to face with them.
Maybe they are cowards?
Maybe they just don't know how to handle things like rejecting and being rejected?
If you don't want to talk to or hang out with someone JUST TELL THEM! It is a whole lot better than stupid excuses or making someone that might actually CARE ABOUT YOU suddenly worry that they fucked something up or that you died or something.
People can't read minds!
On a side note, with today's extremist politics being in nearly everything, it becomes harder and harder for diverse opinions and beliefs to "get along" as people are put into "Echo chambers" online and "self segregate" themselves from other groups to the point that people are less likely to "agree to disagree".
So, in all, it is much easier to "fail" at socializing these days.
People spend so much time putting forth a "persona" in social media online that they fail to BE THEMSELVES in the real world.

General | Posted 7 years agoI thought I should share this little personal story of my life, because I see so many people all over the online world constantly talking about depression, especially when they don't know why they are depressed.
As silly as this may sound, get your vitamin levels checked by a doctor ordered blood test. AND MAKE SURE YOU SEE THE RESULTS AND HAVE THEM EXPLAINED TO YOU!
Vitamin D deficiency is a MASSIVE cause of modern "misdiagnosed" depression.
I was on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds for YEARS dating back to before high school, and all they did was make me MORE depressed, almost to the point of being suicidal, or just left me a drooling zombie in the corner.
The most common side effect of anti-depressants is MORE DEPRESSION!
No amount of people saying "I care about you." or "Hang in there buddy." or "Here's some hobby that works for me, try something like that yourself." ever works...
You gotta take action in your own life.
So I got off those meds (even when my doctor at the time said I shouldn't) and things improved IMMENSELY for me when I got OFF the anti-depressants and weaning off ADHD meds near the end of highschool and beginning of college... I started making friends and going to parties for the first time in my life because I wasn't a drooling drugged out depression zombie in the corner any more. I was hyper and happy!... But I still was quite often feeling "kinda down" and having anxiety issues, without knowing why.
At this point I was and adult and decided I should start looking for new doctors.
Why should I be on anti-depressants if being off them not only made me feel better, but started making me more "stable"? So any doctor that said "Let me prescribe some anti-depressants-anxiety meds for you." was a doctor I wasn't going to stay with.
After 4 doctors all wanting to throw expensive medications at me WITHOUT so much as BLOOD TESTING for ANYTHING!
I finally found a doctor that simply asked me, "Do you spend a lot of time inside and away from the sun? Or do you get at least 30 minutes of sun every day? And do you take any sort of vitamins or dietary supplements?"
When I said, "Oh god no, I'm inside almost all the time on my computer! It's too damn hot and nasty outside during the day. The only time I am outside is when I'm walking to my car or from my car back to my house."
He then says, "Hummmmm... Let's do a quick blood test to check everything out."
I get the blood test done.
He personally calls me a day later with the results and says "You are severely lacking vitamin D... Almost dangerously so. You NEED to take 5000 to 6000iu vitamin D a day and let me know if there is any change in mood after 2 weeks." He also explained a bunch about serotonin and dopamine and certain brain and body chemistry that is dependent on, specifically, vitamin D levels, including IMMUNE SYSTEM STRENGTH... Which would explain why I was sick a lot more back then than I have been since.
I started taking daily and Vitamin D supplements. I went a little overboard with it but you just piss out what you don't use with vitamin D...
Well...
After the first week, hell within 4 days, I was feeling better and better. By 2 weeks I hadn't had a single bout of unfounded depression and was a shit ton less anxious too! I wasn't scared to answer the phone, I wasn't avoiding people online any more...
It was like a switch had been flipped for me...
Things finally felt STABLE for me.
All without expensive meds and their nasty side effects.
Apparently depression is one of the most over-diagnosed medical conditions in the US, because greedy doctors often get massive benefits from pharmaceutical companies to prescribe anti-depressants any time someone says they are feeling "sad" for any reason, and there is little to no oversight on what doctors do or do not prescribe to patients even when a diagnosis or prescription is insanely WRONG!
That old saying of "The Doctor knows best!" is pure and absolute dangerous BULLSHIT!
ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION!
Or third, or fourth...
I'm still amazed it took me 5 doctors to get one that wasn't just a shill for big drug companies.
You shouldn't have to be the one to tell the doctors how to doctor properly, but those seem to be the times we live in, outright DEMAND a damn blood test and then make sure they SHOW YOU THE RESULTS from the lab.
I believe the rate of serious vitamin D deficiency, 10 years ago, was 1 in 4 people, and it is likely even worse now with social media and people buried in their cellphones and computers all the time... The actual rate of chemical "clinical" depression (depressed for most your life for no reason) was something tiny, under 1.5% if I remember correctly, so odds are pretty good it may just be something simple like a vitamin deficiency.
Some of the other things that are a shit ton more common than actual "clinical" depression that cause depression like symptoms are hypothyroidism, low blood sugar, certain food sensitivities (GUYS NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM SOY!!! Not only can it grow "bitch tits" but can chemically fuck with male hormone levels and cause depression like symptoms and mood swings in high enough amounts as it is a natural estrogen, so for women it does the opposite and helps a shit ton for the ladies)... As silly as this may sound, get your vitamin levels checked by a doctor ordered blood test. AND MAKE SURE YOU SEE THE RESULTS AND HAVE THEM EXPLAINED TO YOU!
Vitamin D deficiency is a MASSIVE cause of modern "misdiagnosed" depression.
I was on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds for YEARS dating back to before high school, and all they did was make me MORE depressed, almost to the point of being suicidal, or just left me a drooling zombie in the corner.
The most common side effect of anti-depressants is MORE DEPRESSION!
No amount of people saying "I care about you." or "Hang in there buddy." or "Here's some hobby that works for me, try something like that yourself." ever works...
You gotta take action in your own life.
So I got off those meds (even when my doctor at the time said I shouldn't) and things improved IMMENSELY for me when I got OFF the anti-depressants and weaning off ADHD meds near the end of highschool and beginning of college... I started making friends and going to parties for the first time in my life because I wasn't a drooling drugged out depression zombie in the corner any more. I was hyper and happy!... But I still was quite often feeling "kinda down" and having anxiety issues, without knowing why.
At this point I was and adult and decided I should start looking for new doctors.
Why should I be on anti-depressants if being off them not only made me feel better, but started making me more "stable"? So any doctor that said "Let me prescribe some anti-depressants-anxiety meds for you." was a doctor I wasn't going to stay with.
After 4 doctors all wanting to throw expensive medications at me WITHOUT so much as BLOOD TESTING for ANYTHING!
I finally found a doctor that simply asked me, "Do you spend a lot of time inside and away from the sun? Or do you get at least 30 minutes of sun every day? And do you take any sort of vitamins or dietary supplements?"
When I said, "Oh god no, I'm inside almost all the time on my computer! It's too damn hot and nasty outside during the day. The only time I am outside is when I'm walking to my car or from my car back to my house."
He then says, "Hummmmm... Let's do a quick blood test to check everything out."
I get the blood test done.
He personally calls me a day later with the results and says "You are severely lacking vitamin D... Almost dangerously so. You NEED to take 5000 to 6000iu vitamin D a day and let me know if there is any change in mood after 2 weeks." He also explained a bunch about serotonin and dopamine and certain brain and body chemistry that is dependent on, specifically, vitamin D levels, including IMMUNE SYSTEM STRENGTH... Which would explain why I was sick a lot more back then than I have been since.
I started taking daily and Vitamin D supplements. I went a little overboard with it but you just piss out what you don't use with vitamin D...
Well...
After the first week, hell within 4 days, I was feeling better and better. By 2 weeks I hadn't had a single bout of unfounded depression and was a shit ton less anxious too! I wasn't scared to answer the phone, I wasn't avoiding people online any more...
It was like a switch had been flipped for me...
Things finally felt STABLE for me.
All without expensive meds and their nasty side effects.
Apparently depression is one of the most over-diagnosed medical conditions in the US, because greedy doctors often get massive benefits from pharmaceutical companies to prescribe anti-depressants any time someone says they are feeling "sad" for any reason, and there is little to no oversight on what doctors do or do not prescribe to patients even when a diagnosis or prescription is insanely WRONG!
That old saying of "The Doctor knows best!" is pure and absolute dangerous BULLSHIT!
ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION!
Or third, or fourth...
I'm still amazed it took me 5 doctors to get one that wasn't just a shill for big drug companies.
You shouldn't have to be the one to tell the doctors how to doctor properly, but those seem to be the times we live in, outright DEMAND a damn blood test and then make sure they SHOW YOU THE RESULTS from the lab.
I believe the rate of serious vitamin D deficiency, 10 years ago, was 1 in 4 people, and it is likely even worse now with social media and people buried in their cellphones and computers all the time... The actual rate of chemical "clinical" depression (depressed for most your life for no reason) was something tiny, under 1.5% if I remember correctly, so odds are pretty good it may just be something simple like a vitamin deficiency.
Some of the other things that are a shit ton more common than actual "clinical" depression that cause depression like symptoms are hypothyroidism, low blood sugar, certain food sensitivities (GUYS NEED TO STAY AWAY FROM SOY!!! Not only can it grow "bitch tits" but can chemically fuck with male hormone levels and cause depression like symptoms and mood swings in high enough amounts as it is a natural estrogen, so for women it does the opposite and helps a shit ton for the ladies)... Maybe Arnold Schwarzenegger from Predator, though that was more a suspense and action movie than a "horror" movie.

I'm talking Wesley Snipes in BLADE levels of badassery against the supernatural or otherworldly.
Imagine the movie "IT", but instead of trying to pick on little children, the evil clown accidentally tries to terrorize the little kid's 3 tour Iraq War veteran Marine brother instead, and gets his clown ass hunted down and handed to him by said Marine.

And even then, a new car is still a rip-off because of how quickly they depreciate and how expensive they are to insure.
Also avoid any sort of dealership that says they are "NO HAGGLE"... As this is just another term for them trying to rip you off to make you "FEEL" like it will be less "STRESSFUL". A lot of new cars at a dealership will have a $500-$5000 wiggle room for haggling (depending on price obviously as an $80k car will have a lot more haggle room than a bottom of the line econobox), and these "no haggle" dealerships will usually be on the high end of the price range to begin with. Gone are the days of companies like Saturn and their "manufacturer set dealer pricing", not suggested, but SET... Gawd I miss the 90s and early 2000s in that regard.
As for used cars at dealerships, I have seen all kinds of janky shit, especially at the "independent" one-off "hole in the wall" dealers that give used car salesmen their bad names:
-They will "title wash" cars (where they get a totaled or flood damaged car with a "salvage title", fix it up, then title it multiple times in different places to get rid of any trace back to a salvage title). So if you see a car with a DMV registration history that seems to jump all over the place, with little to no mileage reporting or changes, avoid it!
-Sawdust in slipping transmissions to get them off the lot and stick you with a bad transmission after any extended warranty expires.
-Putting thicker oil in the engine to stop leaks.
-dumping a quart of transmission fluid into the engine oil to stop a noisy lifter tick.
-Retreaded or "used tires"... Or terrible cheaply made Korean or Chinese tires like Kumhos or some off brand named tires that will likely get you KILLED! All to say they have "new tires" and charge you an extra $300-$500 for their under $250 tire job... THE TIRES OF A CAR ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT SAFETY DEVICE! This is NOT a place to cut costs, make sure the car has some good American, German, or Japanese made tires on it and avoid tires from China or Korea.
-used brakes, 'nuff said
-broken parts being held in by glue like body panels, door switch panels, seat panels, entire dashboards.
-stop-leak in the cooling system (eventually clogs things like the heater core, a $750-$2500 job that usually involves removing the entire dashboard, and can cause overheating in the rest of the system (usually no less than $400 for a new radiator) even more if you need a new water pump, and even more if the car has a timing belt instead of timing chain.
-selling cars as "clean titles" when a decent inspection can find frame straightener marks or mismatched body panels from a collision repair, as not everyone reports collisions.
-the dealers will HOPE you are not a mechanically inclined person and tell you things like "Oh! It is supposed to be that way!" when referring to things like a broken engine mount causing the engine to lurch under the hood of the car when revved. (I've had this happen 2 different times at a Chrysler and Chevy dealership).
-Be very wary if they are pushing some sort of online "Car Check" or "Car Facts" or "auto check" reports, especially if they get nervous or start talking faster when you mention wanting to have it looked at by an actual mechanic of your choosing. As most states have LAWS saying that if you want to have a car checked out before buying that they are REQUIRED to let you have it checked out at your own cost. These online "Car Checking" sites have been in trouble multiple times for allowing dealerships to buy "clean" reports for "dirty" cars as well as only reporting what has been reported to the state DMV, as well as identity theft and other shady use of information you provide them.
-There are many more janky things out there that you need to be able to say "Hell no!" and walk away from.
-When it comes down to it, the used car dealership will often be charging you $2000-$5000+ MORE than if you just bought the exact same car from some granny or grandpa selling it at the "private party price".
For example:
-Got a mid 90s Ford Crown Victoria with only 60,000 miles from a granny in a gated community that couldn't drive any more with all its maintenance records for $1900, where the same year car with OVER 110,000 miles was $3500 at a dealership.
-Got an early 2000s Mercury Grand Marquis from a guy moving to New York from Beverly Hills for $2900 with 50,000 miles! where the dealerships were selling the same year make and model with over 90,000 miles for $5-6,000+, even at so-called "auction" dealerships!
-Got a 2007 Mercury Mariner SUV (R.I.P.) with under 70,000 miles for $6000 with all records from a lady in a homeowners association gated community when it was selling for $13,000 with 100k+ miles at local dealerships.
DEALERSHIPS WILL RIP YOU OFF!
It is their JOB to rip you off!
The more they rip you off, the more they get paid!
Especially if you FINANCE a car you cannot afford to begin with, you are basically saying "Yeah, go ahead and charge me 20-35% more than I am already paying!"
Dealerships LOOOOOOVE pushing finance, even if you come in looking for a $3000 car, they will use every smooth and underhanded trick in the book to somehow get you into the $15,000 car... Hell they make money just off you filling out paper work (if they ask you to do a credit check or fill out a finance paper when you are paying with cash or cashiers check, tell them no, or just leave as that is a freakishly easy way to not only ding your credit report but steal your identity). Believe me, I have had to run wingman for more people than I can remember when it comes to getting a car.
And for heaven's sake don't ever TRADE-IN your car into a dealership, as they will give you 1/2 of what it is worth compared to a private party sale. (there are video compilations and stories galore about places like CARMAX and how scammy they are when it comes to trade-in prices)
Again, the absolute most important thing to look for when getting a used car is "MAINTENANCE HISTORY"!!!
If you do buy a used car from a dealership, only get one that was originally LEASED as they have to have all their maintenance kept up and documented during the lease.
If you can trace back that a used car of ANY mileage has had all the manufacturer recommended maintenance, then you know you will be getting a decently taken care of car, especially when it comes to these things: BRAKES, TRANSMISSION SERVICE, REGULAR OIL CHANGES, and COOLANT SYSTEM SERVICE.
Most people will buy a new car and NEVER service the brake fluid, coolant, or transmission fluid, meaning that by the time it is sold as a used car, all these things are original and often in bad condition with only the oil having been changed if at all.
I've done transmission services on cars with 80,000 miles (supposed to be done ever 30,000miles) that still have their original fluid (black and sludgy as hell and even the original dipstick plug from the assembly line in the pan), or coolant flushes on a car that are 15 years old and has completely broken down original coolant that is 50k out of its usefulness date that is brown and rusted to hell (supposed to be done every 30k miles or 3 years, and 50k miles and 5 years for extended fluids), and oil changes on cars that have gone 30,000 miles in between their last change (5000 mile oil changes are the average now). And this usually happens when people just start to notice a "strange issue", and by then it is usually too late.
A dealership will almost always not have the original maintenance records and go on and on about how "We already took care of it and changed all the fluids and filters" when about all they will do is an oil change and top stuff off. (my favorite is when they don't do a proper transmission service and filter change, and just suck out old fluid through the dipstick and dump in whatever nice red cheap trans fluid they got sitting around, often not the type that the car is supposed to have!)
If you can't know the history of a used car, then a dealership shouldn't be charging top dollar for it!
Now, when buying private party (meaning you are buying the car directly from the owner), remembering all the above as well, a good question to ask, MULTIPLE TIMES, is "WHY ARE YOU SELLING THIS CAR?"
What you want to hear is things like:
"We have to sell it because grandma shouldn't be driving anymore."
Or "We are moving out of state and can only bring 2 cars with us."
Or "The wife says I have too many cars."
Or "I'm deploying overseas in the military and can't have it sitting around here not getting used."
Or one of my personal favorites "I just got a new company car and the homeowners association nazis want to charge me $500 per week this one is parked by the curb."
Another personal favorite of mine is when someone is visibly SAD they are selling the car, and say things like "I want it to go to a good home" or "Take care of it, it is the best car I have ever owned!" and even pat it on the hood or roof or something like they are losing a family member.
Personally when I sell a car, I will be honest about it, especially when selling to friends as I will tell them EVERYTHING wrong with the car and why I'm selling it. I even tried to convince a friend NOT to buy my old Volkswagen from me and told him everything that was wrong with it before he did, I even offered to give him spare parts and shit I still had.
As most people don't sell a car unless there is a problem with it or they honestly cannot hold onto it any longer.
If they are selling the car and it has flat tires, or dead battery, or hasn't been run in a long time (spider webs everywhere), or they "think" there is an "easy to fix issue" with it (if it was so easy to fix, why didn't they do it?), then walk away because unless you are getting a classic you want to fix up, it will likely have BIG issues. This is a general rule of thumb thing as some cars are better than others when it comes to easy repairs or a car that has been sitting for a while.
Another thing you want to do is GET THE VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and do a quick check at the DMV or Local AAA office or internet VIN check of choice to make sure the car you are looking at doesn't have a bunch of parking tickets or back registration or is stolen or whatever. And make sure the TITLE/Pinkslip of the car is in the name of the person actually selling it, check I.D.!!!
If they say it "Doesn't have a title" or "Only has a bill of sale" or is a "Lien Sale" car... WALK or RUN AWAY! These are usually stolen cars or a car with some sort of janky registration or legal issues. Even if it is a dream car of yours, it is not worth the bullshit you will have to go through to legally own and title in your name.
Also, look at the area the car is being sold in. If it is some gated community with million dollar houses you are less likely to be screwed over than with some hoopty from the ghetto, again especially if it has MAINTENANCE RECORDS, as I have noticed middle class and rich people are more likely to hang onto these records to be able to sell the car at a higher price, they are also most likely to pay for the maintenance the car needs over its life as well as being more able to negotiate the lower end of a specific value, where poorer people always want to think their under-maintained hoopty is worth solid gold and will not move from the higher end or over priced value.
The worst cars I have ever bought were from people in the shitty parts of town, and the best cars I have bought were from people in upper class areas.
A great tool to have if you are going it alone, is an OBDII SCANTOOL for ANY car 1995 and newer. You can get a cheap foxwell or similar scantool off amazon for less than $60, and plug it into the cars computer OBDII port and it will tell you right away anything the car has going on sensor or computer wise.
Any car you are researching, do a quick check on https://www.carcomplaints.com/ to see if the car you are looking at has any serious issues in the engine or transmission or electrical system as these are some of the most expensive to repair, also look at "recalls" and "Technical Service Bulletins" as these all tell you what to expect down the road or if you are getting a reliable car to begin with.
Lastly, When it comes to finding out what the "Value" of a used car is, to sell or buy, you will have to do a few things. Check out "Edmunds" and "Kelly Blue Book" and "True Car" to get an AVERAGE price range, as well as getting an idea of the "average price" for a certain model and mileage off Craigslist because people often over-value their vehicles when putting them up for sale.
Hope this helps as I see more and more journals and people getting their first cars or trading up and such lately.

If you do buy a used car from a dealership, only get one that was originally LEASED as they have to have all their maintenance kept up and documented during the lease.
If you can trace back that a used car of ANY mileage has had all the manufacturer recommended maintenance, then you know you will be getting a decently taken care of car, especially when it comes to these things: BRAKES, TRANSMISSION SERVICE, REGULAR OIL CHANGES, and COOLANT SYSTEM SERVICE.
Most people will buy a new car and NEVER service the brake fluid, coolant, or transmission fluid, meaning that by the time it is sold as a used car, all these things are original and often in bad condition with only the oil having been changed if at all.
I've done transmission services on cars with 80,000 miles (supposed to be done ever 30,000miles) that still have their original fluid (black and sludgy as hell and even the original dipstick plug from the assembly line in the pan), or coolant flushes on a car that are 15 years old and has completely broken down original coolant that is 50k out of its usefulness date that is brown and rusted to hell (supposed to be done every 30k miles or 3 years, and 50k miles and 5 years for extended fluids), and oil changes on cars that have gone 30,000 miles in between their last change (5000 mile oil changes are the average now). And this usually happens when people just start to notice a "strange issue", and by then it is usually too late.
A dealership will almost always not have the original maintenance records and go on and on about how "We already took care of it and changed all the fluids and filters" when about all they will do is an oil change and top stuff off. (my favorite is when they don't do a proper transmission service and filter change, and just suck out old fluid through the dipstick and dump in whatever nice red cheap trans fluid they got sitting around, often not the type that the car is supposed to have!)
If you can't know the history of a used car, then a dealership shouldn't be charging top dollar for it!
Now, when buying private party (meaning you are buying the car directly from the owner), remembering all the above as well, a good question to ask, MULTIPLE TIMES, is "WHY ARE YOU SELLING THIS CAR?"
What you want to hear is things like:
"We have to sell it because grandma shouldn't be driving anymore."
Or "We are moving out of state and can only bring 2 cars with us."
Or "The wife says I have too many cars."
Or "I'm deploying overseas in the military and can't have it sitting around here not getting used."
Or one of my personal favorites "I just got a new company car and the homeowners association nazis want to charge me $500 per week this one is parked by the curb."
Another personal favorite of mine is when someone is visibly SAD they are selling the car, and say things like "I want it to go to a good home" or "Take care of it, it is the best car I have ever owned!" and even pat it on the hood or roof or something like they are losing a family member.
Personally when I sell a car, I will be honest about it, especially when selling to friends as I will tell them EVERYTHING wrong with the car and why I'm selling it. I even tried to convince a friend NOT to buy my old Volkswagen from me and told him everything that was wrong with it before he did, I even offered to give him spare parts and shit I still had.
As most people don't sell a car unless there is a problem with it or they honestly cannot hold onto it any longer.
If they are selling the car and it has flat tires, or dead battery, or hasn't been run in a long time (spider webs everywhere), or they "think" there is an "easy to fix issue" with it (if it was so easy to fix, why didn't they do it?), then walk away because unless you are getting a classic you want to fix up, it will likely have BIG issues. This is a general rule of thumb thing as some cars are better than others when it comes to easy repairs or a car that has been sitting for a while.
Another thing you want to do is GET THE VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and do a quick check at the DMV or Local AAA office or internet VIN check of choice to make sure the car you are looking at doesn't have a bunch of parking tickets or back registration or is stolen or whatever. And make sure the TITLE/Pinkslip of the car is in the name of the person actually selling it, check I.D.!!!
If they say it "Doesn't have a title" or "Only has a bill of sale" or is a "Lien Sale" car... WALK or RUN AWAY! These are usually stolen cars or a car with some sort of janky registration or legal issues. Even if it is a dream car of yours, it is not worth the bullshit you will have to go through to legally own and title in your name.
Also, look at the area the car is being sold in. If it is some gated community with million dollar houses you are less likely to be screwed over than with some hoopty from the ghetto, again especially if it has MAINTENANCE RECORDS, as I have noticed middle class and rich people are more likely to hang onto these records to be able to sell the car at a higher price, they are also most likely to pay for the maintenance the car needs over its life as well as being more able to negotiate the lower end of a specific value, where poorer people always want to think their under-maintained hoopty is worth solid gold and will not move from the higher end or over priced value.
The worst cars I have ever bought were from people in the shitty parts of town, and the best cars I have bought were from people in upper class areas.
A great tool to have if you are going it alone, is an OBDII SCANTOOL for ANY car 1995 and newer. You can get a cheap foxwell or similar scantool off amazon for less than $60, and plug it into the cars computer OBDII port and it will tell you right away anything the car has going on sensor or computer wise.
Any car you are researching, do a quick check on https://www.carcomplaints.com/ to see if the car you are looking at has any serious issues in the engine or transmission or electrical system as these are some of the most expensive to repair, also look at "recalls" and "Technical Service Bulletins" as these all tell you what to expect down the road or if you are getting a reliable car to begin with.
Lastly, When it comes to finding out what the "Value" of a used car is, to sell or buy, you will have to do a few things. Check out "Edmunds" and "Kelly Blue Book" and "True Car" to get an AVERAGE price range, as well as getting an idea of the "average price" for a certain model and mileage off Craigslist because people often over-value their vehicles when putting them up for sale.
Hope this helps as I see more and more journals and people getting their first cars or trading up and such lately.
Electric cars are NOT "green", and NOT "the future"!

Electric cars have been around since the early 1900s (look up "Detroit Electric Car Company") back when electric, gas, and STEAM cars were all competing with each other, and electric cars have remained relatively the same engineering wise just switching over from lead acid batteries (that you could refill) to expensive disposable lithium battery packs and more efficient motors, otherwise in all reality they are just as old as gasoline cars.
Being a car nut and having a background in geology as well, I know a wee bit in this area, I'll try to keep it simple.
People ALWAYS seem to forget, or just not care, what goes INTO their so-called "green" branded consumer products, and just how far away from being "green" those branded products are.
Since it isn't obvious to most uneducated "green" product buyers, I thought I'd point out a few things about these battery powered cars.
First off, be it lead, Nickel-Metal Hydride, or Lithium Ion batteries, not to mention the petroleum needed to manufacture all the plastic bits and pieces of said cars (the whole process of recycling, transport, manufacturing, and so on to make a "new" product, all create pollution), most the metals in these so-called "green" cars are considered "RARE EARTH MINERALS" (other than the lead) meaning they are RARE as in LIMITED SUPPLY before we run out, they also have many nasty by-products, like how lithium runoff and curing creates these massive pools of lithium often called "lithium pits" that kill and crystallize many unfortunate animals that happen to wander into or land in them, not to mention soak into water tables and destroy entire eco systems, but they are all in China and other countries now with media blackouts so the greenies don't have to feel guilty that they are worse polluters than even OIL is...
Most the metals used in these cars have to be strip-mined from the earth causing more environmental damage than even "big oil" does by drilling holes for oil, where an oil bore hole may only be 4-12 inches across, a strip mine can be MILES across. "Big Green" is just and big and greedy as "Big Oil".
If you think buying brand new "green" products is helping the environment, you are wrong and likely too busy sniffing your own farts to care where all said green shit comes from.
Cars do NOT grow on trees!
Every bit of plastic and metal has to come from somewhere.
2-3 old cars have to be recycled to make ONE "new" car. Because even though 80-95% of a car is recyclable, many things have to be made from "new" materials in a "new" car.
Electric cars also need to be recharged, most likely using the established electrical grid that is getting most of its power from coal and gas, (because said idiot environmentalists stopped new nuclear energy from being developed since the 1970s, and wind energy only turns a profit with massive government subsidies and don't forget that there are rare earth minerals needed to make said expensive wind power, and we can't forget all the envirotards that get all the clean hydro-electric dams removed as well), and lets face it, you would need a damn solar tower array to recharge these cars quickly from solar power (and again solar panels still require manufacture that pollutes), so even people with solar panels still use dirty energy to recharge these cars or end up having a painfully slow recharge rate.
So, now, what happens if it is mandated to only have electric cars?
Well first off, your electricity bill is going to go through the roof, sure people can survive without paying for gas or gasoline, but electricity is pretty much everything these days, so even people without electric cars are going to see utility prices rise, not to forget to mention the terrible electrical infrastructure in the USA would not be able to handle the increased strain for decades.
Second, we now need to worry about a "rare earth mineral crisis" causing even more, and bigger wars than there have been over oil deposits, and because of the fact it needs to be strip mined, you can't just drill a hole miles down to get said resource in a relatively small area, and all the heavy earth moving vehicles and supply lines, and everything else that would go into "big green" would make the environmental impact from "big oil" like nothing more than a little footnote in human history.
People often forget the old "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, REPURPOSE!" And instead just continue to be wasteful consumer whores and buy anything branded as "green" without a single thought as to where said "green" thing came from.
Now this may sound all doom and gloom....
I'm sure somebody with a shitty gas hybrid car or an electric Tesla wants to call me a "big-oil cock sucking captain planet villain nazi" or such to try and make themselves feel righteous in their bad environmental purchase...
So what can be done?
What could be the actual "Future" of automotive and even air transportation?
Well, it is the most abundant material in the UNIVERSE!
What is it you ask?
Fucking HYDROGEN!
Seriously, hydrogen cars have been in development for years, and much like outfitting a standard combustion engine we already have for cleaner "natural gas", you can do the same to make a fuel injected car run off hydrogen with the only byproduct being WATER!
Seriously... You can drink the exhaust of a hydrogen car, I did with the BMW Hydrogen 7 back in college...
It was the cleanest water I have likely ever drank, and it came from a BMW 6.0L V-12 Combustion Engine! That's fucking METAL AS HELL!
There was also a car called the Honda Clarity FCX around the same time I actually got to drive around that ran on a hydrogen fuel cell back in 2009 of so.
That means we could "retrofit and REUSE" the cars we already have. Usually all you have to do is update the computer, put in gas injectors, stainless exhaust pipes, and a high pressure natural gas or hydrogen tank.
You can make hydrogen gas using water though Electrolysis, including sea water (which we have plenty of on this planet), and you can make it all day long at home using actual solar or on site wind energy in a unit as small as a central airconditioning condenser and fan. Or about a 4x4x4 foot cube of space. Since it would be making the gas all day instead of making it on demand just when you need it like the electric car needs, the slower rate work out just fine.
There are also two types of ways of using hydrogen to power a car, using a hydrogen fuel cell to power electric motors directly, or using hydrogen gas combustion to power a standard combustion engine. With the combustion engine you can set them up to work with gasoline AND hydrogen.
Personally I like the idea of converting a gasoline car to run off hydrogen combustion instead of just buying a whole new car, because I can keep my old classic cars and not have to worry about the waste that goes into creating a whole new car.
Now... What is the drawback to this?
Well, the fact you can MAKE IT AT HOME pisses off not only "big oil" but pisses off "big green" as well because the only money either would get is from the purchase of a home hydrogen fueling station... And the government would be VERY ANGRY at the lack of gas tax much like they already are with gas cars becoming more efficient (due to the government's own imposed regulations), and would likely tax people PER MILE instead, their way of fucking over people that have to commute long distance. So these entities are going to do all they can to just "sit on it" until it is absolutely necessary to roll out. Especially since big oil and the corporate world is already planning for a future without gasoline by having hydrogen, and or battery swap stations, on the drawing board along with GMC that bought up all patents to multiple "Capacitive battery" designs (a battery you could dump a full charge into in less than a minute and have it slowly release said charge without overheating) and made it completely disappear nearly 10 years ago. There is also the initial cost of the home equipment and set up and automotive retrofitting before you start getting "free fuel", but this pay-off comes MUCH SOONER than the typical 7-14 year premium you pay for an electric or hybrid vehicle over a standard gas or diesel vehicle.
For now, all electric cars are overpriced toys for the rich to make themselves "feel" like they are "helping" while continuing to be rabid consumer whores that like to sniff their own farts (sorry, I can't help but to keep making the Southpark fart sniffing reference). Since the fandom seems to be splitting off into a bajillion or so other sites, all requiring accounts and logins and some behind paywalls, there is still a place or two left to find most of the furry art out there in the internet land like E621.
And E621 has an amazing community tagging system where if you don't want to see something, you just put a minus -infront of it, and it doesn't allow people to get away with snowflake tagging bullshit like calling a flat chested woman with a vagina a "male" since I can't stand when someone labels female vagoo as male peen, or peen in vagoo as "gay".
Yes, I said peen and vagoo because those words are funny to me and I'm easy to amuse.
I really wish more art sites had tagging systems like E621.
