Bad flying weather >.<
Posted 12 years agoYup, so far because of the crazy weather that's been hanging around Georgia lately, I've only logged maybe two hours since solo and I need a min of five and I still haven't even gotten my cross country done yet. If this weather keeps up I'm not going to be done with my certificate until late spring >.< Tomorrow looks to be a fairly descent day so I'm going to try to go up then. If I do, I'll see if I can get some pic's of the flight providing that there is sufficient clean air (Free of turbulence) since i have to briefly let go of the control bar to take pics. Anyway take care folks (Axle out)
I hate mondays :(
Posted 12 years agoI was up in north Atlanta today and met up with Twizler Skunk for a bite to eat and upon leaving Twizler ended up in a bad accident *Sighs* Apparently he was turning to get onto I-75 when someone ran the light and hit Twizler who was driving his Toyota MR-2 I was already on the interstate when he had the wreck and didn't know about it until 2 hours later when I got home. He's currently in the hospital having a CT scan done he also injured one of his legs but that's about the extent I know until I hear from him again. For those who know him, I'll update when I hear more (Axle)

It took me longer than expected due to a few errors that I encountered during the inspection but I had everything needed to fix the problems yay! Twizler skunk and Soapy showed up later in the day when I was completing everything and we went to grab a bite to eat once I was done I can't wait till next weekend to fly it again. Anyway take care folks (Axle)

Aircraft registered!
Posted 13 years agoFinally got my registration in for my trike yesterday yay! so all the paperwork is done. I've been waiting on the registration card to come in since I can't include the "Pink slip" as its known as in the Annual Condition inspection which it is now due for. Now all I got to do is perform the annual, sign it off and I'm set for another year Whew. Anyway time to get my paws dirty take care! (Axle)
Solo complete :)
Posted 13 years agoWell folks, Finished my solo today and all went well, my CFI was impressed especially with the way the wind was whipping around which makes things interesting while flying a trike, Ga weather in January guaranteed to make things interesting or your money back lol. Anyway I have a GoPro vid of the flight that I'm in the process of editing. I should have it up in a day or so and when I do I'll post the link here. Later, (Axle)
Time to Solo
Posted 13 years agoWell the time has come, I put 4 flights on my new trike with my CFI yesterday (Saturday) and my CFI has designated me ready to solo. All i need to do is take my pre-solo exam and it's time for me to fly on my own and I can't wait. I have a GoPro vid of this flight that I plan on posting up on YouTube. It's not the best since I look like I'm crying when in reality, i have cold air flowing up behind my visor making my eye's water, It was also driving my mic crazy too. I'll have a much better video when I solo next weekend. later folks (Axle out)

Finelly Got my plane :)
Posted 13 years agoGuess what everyone, I finally have my Trike. I went and picked it up in Orlando Fl yesterday and got home with it around 1 am this morning. Today I'm going to be performing an full inspection on it (I'm an A&P) and I'll take pics during the process, which I will post later this evening, one thing though, It will not have the wing on it in those pics. I don't have enough room to set it up where I'm at so the full pic will be at the airport I fly out of. anyway take care folks! (Axle out)
Finelly finished the Kitfox (Airplane)
Posted 13 years agoWell We finelly finished the kitfox Mod. II and yesterday was its first runup and talk about a job it was. We had to swap out the old Rotax 532 with the newer and more powerful 582 and it required quite a bit of modification to get it installed properly. Anyway here's a video of it's first run up, the guy getting in and running it is me :) and the other guy is my friend that works with me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyVh.....ature=youtu.be
More flight lessons
Posted 13 years agoWell finished with lesson five and six which were flown last sunday. We flew the pattern more and did some low passes and then some touch and go's then finally a couple of landings, It was cold (33 deg) but really calm wind wise so we just bundled up and went and it supprized me on how easy it was to fly without having to battle turbulence during the whole lesson lol I will post a pic later :). also I will have my own plane soon which I will be picking up in the next couple of weeks. once I get it back at my place I'll post pics of it as well. till then take care! (Axle)
Flight lesson two again in windy conditions O.o
Posted 13 years agoWell, I met up with my CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) for those who don't know and went up for another flight early Sunday morning and flew the pattern for a while as well as some approaches plus shot some more climb and descents but towards the end of the lesson it suddenly got REAL windy and in an WSC aircraft , that spells for some real hairy conditions so we Wisely decided to cut the lesson short and turn around and head back to the airport which took us forever because of a strong head wind that developed while heading back we estimated our ground speed at 30 mph. The landing wasn't much easier because of a strong cross wind right across the runway since WSC (Weight Sift Control) aircraft do not have a rudder, its hard to straighten out with such a cross wind so our landing was kinda bumpy but it was fun, had a lot of WHEE factor as I like to say. Now off to lesson three and four which will be free since I'm an A&P and he has offered free lessons in exchange for me doing the Annual which is now due. Oh how nice it is to be an A&P :) more to come from "Axle the Flying Hound" :) cya folks!
