Furry birthday
General | Posted 11 years agoI am using this entry as a chronological record of my own experience thus far in the fandom. As far as I can remember, I discovered the fandom and identified myself with it a week or so before making an FA account. But for the sake of official record, I shall use my FA account date my furry birthday.
So what has happened, one year on? Ever since my last journal, there has been a great series of developments, both positive and negative. I have grown to learn that while life's pitfalls are inevitable, downs can mould me into less naive person and avoid committing the similar mistakes in the future. Also, I appreciate the fact that I am on reasonably good terms with most furs in the local community. I hope I can try out of drama and keep it that way as far as possible. I am unable to contribute in a "furry" way locally, so I tend to lend support, financially or otherwise, to those who do. Involving myself in the organisation of AFA 2014 is one example. I pride myself in helping out in these small, tangible ways. I really enjoyed what the community has provided to me thus far, and I hope I can return the favour.
With regards to life in general, the going has been tough. Law school was never meant to be easy, and the working world is ruthless. Things are not looking too good in terms of the legal industry. With the influx of foreign law firms and the appreciable market shift towards cheaper and more efficient forms of dispute resolution like arbitration, demand for local lawyers are weakening. Job prospects are gradually eroding amidst the intense competition. I have always asked myself day by day whether all this time (and money) spent on the fandom will work to my detriment in the future. For now, I have settled with the answer (or excuse) that a man needs to something to keep his sanity in this madness.
Insofar as sexuality is concerned (yes it is an issue), I always took on an agnostic attitude towards it. However, my not-so-straight side of me of recent days demands attention. Nonetheless, I put my foot (or paw) down and maintain the position that it might be tempting, but wrong. Yes I'm all for LBGTQ rights, but for my own sake, as well as those people whose shoulders I am standing on to reach the heights I am at today, I simply cannot let them down. In another world, in another life, maybe.
To my watchers, thank you for the watch! Sorry I never got around you shout a thanks you. Just want to lay it down clearly that my profile here is a clean one (just like me ;3). If you watched hoping to get submissions of kinky shit, I think you might reconsider keeping me on your watch list. Regardless, I will keep commissioning SFW art, probably on a monthly basis. I usually like to commission not-so-famous artists who are from humble origins. I would like to think that they need the money the most.
Anyway thanks for reading! Heres to some good times ahead! ^_^

2014: 3 months into the fandom
General | Posted 12 years agoIt amazes me just being in the fandom for 3 months plus brought about so many changes into life. First off, my results just came in. It's a barely acceptable standard in law school, but I believe I have already put my best foot (or paw) forward in this grueling semester. Anymore work hours I put in would have been inhuman. So no regrets there. Second, within the span of 3 months, I met so many furs, both local and overseas, all of whom have obviously been in the fandom longer than me. They all aided me in "expanding my horizon" and let me know more about the wider community out there. It really fuels me to go to my first con this coming year. However, while money might not be an issue, the lack of company might be. Lastly, on a more personal note, I discovered that have a "not-so-straight" side. Embarrassing as it is to say it, it is admittedly true, especially when I started off claiming that I'm "120% straight". This fandom certainly works in mysterious ways. As of now, I'm still unsure whether to embrace it as my core being, or to eradicate it completely from my system. We'll just have to wait to find out.
On a light-hearted note, I just received my first ever furry commission from a local fur. Really pleased about how it turned out, and I got it at a steal. Probably gonna frame it up somewhere. Will post it up on my gallery as soon as the artist gets me the scanned copy.

First journal entry
General | Posted 12 years agoHmm I know nobody will probably read this so here goes-
I came into the fandom not really knowing what to expect. I found out about it from a 9gag comment. On a bus. Can u believe it?? Yeah i still cant. But I did, and I was utterly hooked. Its as if I found my true identity. A strange feeling of "coming home". I always loved animal characters, fursuits and imaging myself of something more (or less) than human. Never did i know that it all crystallised into a single community of people sharing the same inclinations.
Now that im deep into the fandom, i ponder if i really made the right move. Friends are beginning to realise im behaving different and my work productivity is affected. Im alrdy suffering in law school and surfing FA and chatting with furs is not helping at all. But i love this community so much, the artworks, fursuits and my fellow furs, it nearly impossible to leave. I heard that it is also an expensive hobby, but who cares- Ive got money.
Then theres this thing about yiff. I did do a search on it before, and i must say of the works can be quite arosing. It was only until today that i found out that this very site, FA, holds the world's most yiffs, all thanks to a fellow fur dragon (whom had so conveniently corrupted me). Apparently i didnt turn mature content on -.-
Nonetheless, i cannot bear to paw off to yiffs. no way. If i ever do it, its over- I can no longer live with myself. Personally i believe being a furry and being attracted to yiff are independent and can be kept separate. i will do my best to keep myself away from the darkside of this fandom. Though every day, the temptation to "release" all my furriness get more difficult to withstand. But as for now, the mature content still remains firmly as "general".
