I'm curious, let me know what you think if you've a moment:
* What methods, subjects, settings, concepts of TF are you fond of that you don't see that often?
* If you /have/ some examples of something someone else has said, feel free to link to it!
I am currently enjoying TF with shrinking quite a bit, but it's not that uncommon. I do enjoy one thing TFing into many; there's quite a few different ways to present it and they're all good fun to think about. :)

Free art to accompany my stories?
Posted 13 years agoAn artist I know by the name of roareyraccoon has posted an interesting offer. He will draw art in support of a writer's stories to promote their work and raise their recognition.
If there's something in my work you feel would work well in a picture, this seems like a cool way of letting there be art of it. But Roarey is particular that the fans of a work should be the ones to make this recommendation, which seems fair to me. :) That's where you would come in.

(Still working on everything RL side. I hope to settle things and free up some writing time and motivation before too long. ^^;)

Posted 14 years agoThere's too much going on at the moment. Mostly it involves love and relocation and it's all RL side and once it is sorted out then normal service should resume. It's all good stuff though, and I'll be much happier afterwards. :)

I am planning to maybe be at some more US cons in 2012- FC and AC are the current ones. I'll also be at CFz (naturally) and EF 2011, and probably 2012 too. We'll see.

I have had a little bit to drink and am currently in the mood to hear about bats. Who likes bats? I do. :D Bats are awesome. I'm a fruit bat, as some of you may know, but since I'm also other things and I only made this persona to write with it might not be so obvious. ^.^
I was at FC in the rodents panel and I heard a bat say "We don't have a panel, can we be honorary rodents?" :3

Posted 15 years agoNice Xmas there, and on the 11th it's off to the Bay Area for some more r&r, my first outing in a suit, and some meeting of fuzzies. Although I should really figure out a list of people to see!
I may get some writing done on the plane, but I'm actually in the run-up to a musical set at another convention so I'm burning most of my free time on that and not really thinking of ideas. x.X Oh well. We'll see! I do have a few thoughts cooking on the next story...

Two years of FA
Posted 15 years agoWell, strictly speaking it's more since I made a new account to start writing with. But as far as I can prove, it's two years since I first did that! Which is pretty cool.
I have Xmas and New Year planned out. Little bit blocked on the writing front though, hopefully that'll unstick quite quickly.
Commissions are still open for the time being, though. ^^

Posted 15 years agoLife is good. I have a new job and in a few years I will be an engineer-manager in the civil service and in a few more years I can be chartered and keep going. Hopefully. o_o It has the makings of a good stable career and it means I can relax in my out-hours.
And I got a tax rebate. Awesome. Gonna be booking a trip to FC soon; anyone else going to be there? :)
And while that is going on I have been writing. Which is great. :D My commission and trades list is quite healthily stocked. Anything recently you like and want more of? This is a good way to get it. ^^
Trades are pretty tricky, as I thought they would be. Usually I have to initiate those. X) But that is probably fair really, since I tend to want art. :3
So, how's life for all you watchers out there? I hope it's being good too.

Moved house
Posted 15 years agoAnd as a result of the moving house I am restricted to slow bandwidth-capped GPRS internet. So, not much action from me for a few days.
I'm discussing some art/story collaborations with a friend.. anything particular you'd like to see? (Given that it's you watchers most likely to see it.) Regular animals and furries preferred, and more points if it's not just TF-based. ;)

Jobs / silly batty
Posted 15 years agoSo after agonising for weeks over whether to change job, I do so. It is a big step for a small rodent in a big corporate world, but I feel good about it.
Until today in the paper I read that my employer-to-be is to cut 25,000 jobs in the next 4 years.
There will be a cartoon on the theme of last one because /damn/. ;P
And the 'silly batty' part is where I went to a Pawpets writing meeting 200 miles away from my house, and left my laptop charger there. So I finished zohaku's commission on the train and then when I got back home I didn't have enough battery to boot up. Not to mention holding up numerous other things. x.X
I'm reliably informed it should be mailed today. So, with luck, expect an update later! I am still open for commissions, having somehow managed to polish off the whole list, except for elpurp who is semi-on the list but has been waiting forever. ;.;

$16 gets you 1000 words. TF, descriptions, revisiting previous stories, anything.
Natural, supernatural, and fictional species (Pokemon, Flammie, sergals, chakats, etc.) are all okay, but non-original characters (Ash, Misty, Sora, Naruto, etc.) are not. That's just how it works, folks.
I know it's gimmicky, but a picture's meant to be worth that many words, so I'll take trades as well. Yes, some of your artistry is worth more than that, but we can absolutely talk about it. But who ever trades art for story? Seriously. XD

Posted 15 years agoI had a birthday! So now I'm 25. I also have a job, which is useful for the purposes of not dying. ^.^
I'm thinking of changing my commission offerings a bit, but I'm a bit reluctant to start since I'm still having writers block problems. Hopefully when Pawpets UK 2011 kicks off I can get back into the groove. o.o

Recently I've had a concert and some more ConFuzzled work to do (if you're in the UK, or looking to come for a visit, and want to come to an awesome furry convention, look no further than http://confuzzled.org.uk/ - catering to your every whim since 2005!) and I also have some trouble brewing on my masters course.
I haven't forgotten about you commissioners. petrock, your patience is appreciated. ^^ Nor did I forget about the people looking on, longingly. ;) I posted two stories a few days ago, but I must have picked a bad time of day. I'm amazed it makes such a difference. o.o;
Also, because it seems to work for illustrations and I'm all about keeping up with the artists, here's the audience participation section: if I was doing 500 word minifics/descriptions/etc for $10, would anyone be interested?

Posted 16 years agoI'm over here in the snow, spending Xmas with my girlfriend, but I did manage to finish that one story that's been bugging me, so that's good. Now I can think of other things... there's been a Dragonair one refusing to co-operate for a while now.

Hiatus contd. / gimmicks
Posted 16 years agoFirst teaching week of college. First I shall acclimatise, and then find time to write. It'll be here somewhere, I know it. Luckily enough, the break has given me a few ideas I need to write. :)
Mostly this post was on the subject of 'gimmick' posts that seem to be growing in popularity for some reason I don't know. Yes alright I see what you did there. But I'm here for art and, rarely, even stories, and while I never mind creativity at least be creative! Gosh. :/
In the meantime, I have a commission (or two) to work on, which is about right. If you're thinking of things to buy for Halloween/Xmas and fancy a short story crafted just for you, usual channels are open.

The little hiatus
Posted 16 years agoSorry about that, I just moved house and have been slowly piecing the world back together. As well as that I joined the committee for the UK furcon and have been doing various things there.
Been working on music, but I've had a few commissions and ideas floated by me... including some collaborations, mmm. It'll be great! But things are a bit quiet just now. I'm not gone though, don't worry about that. ;)
