FA? What's that?
Posted 10 years agoSeriously, a year since I've used FA. Wow. Maybe I should post an update for the few followers I do have.
The only difference is I actually have a suit now! Woo! Mischief Makers did a fantastic job on Sprocket. I just need to start wearing him more which isn't easy in this summer heat.
BLFC was a fucking trip, literally and figuratively. Once again proves to me that it's the best con.
Anyways, I'm still around. Maybe I'll post more maybe not. See yas!

Post Califur Journal
Posted 11 years agoYeaaah, Califur.
I pretty much spent the weekend HEAVILY intoxicated.
Especially friday night. So If you saw me acting weird on the con floor or whatever, yeah. I don't have much memory of friday evening. At all.
On Saturday my friend took the train up from San Diego, which made me really really happy. :3 It made the weekend so much better that he was there to spend it with me.

As for the con itself, it was okay. Didn't have as much fun as I did at BLFC for obvious reasons, but it didn't keep me from having a good time and being a hot drunken mess for a majority of the weekend.
I'm hoping to make it to Rainfurrest since I am from the Pacific Northwest originally, it'll be pretty easy to get to. And hopefully I'll have at least a partial by then, yay!
And finally, I broke my phone >.> But I got a new one! Note me or look at my previous journal for my new number, if you want it.

For those who might be interested
Posted 11 years agoTook my new bike to Palomar yesterday to see how it handles in the twisties. Got some pretty cool footage. Unfortunately the only real video I got was one from of my early runs, since my camera died before I really started hanging off the bike. Aw well. Here is the video for those who might be interested
Gets interesting around 7 minutes - 8 minutes.

Furry Racing Development!
Posted 11 years agoSo my friend wrecked his 1999 YZF-R6 a few weeks ago while lanesplitting. He just got his money from the insurance company but they wouldn't take his bike, sooo I bought it! For 200 bucks!
Decided to make this thing into a dedicated track/race bike. And so begins Furry Racing Development! (FRD)
I'd like to make something to keep progress of my build.
Since the bike WAS in a wreck, the only major damage was to the front stay, which I can replace for 30 bucks off ebay. Also the brake lever broke, and the fairings are wrecked, and the gas tank got destroyed.
So!
1) Replace front stay
2) Replace gas tank
3) Race Glass (fairings)
4) Shorty Levers
5) New chain and sprockets (-1/+1)
6) Steering dampener
7) Woodcraft rearsets
8) Woodcraft engine cover and sliders
9) Woodcraft clipons
10) SS brake lines
11) Front suspension gold valve and spring rebuild, configured for bodyweight
12) Rear suspension?
13) New sticky tires
13.5) Performance air filter
14) Awesome furry-related MotoGP inspired paint job.
So, for less than 1500 dollars. I can have a totally bad-ass MotoGP worthy bike capable of beating Valentino Rossi at the Isle of Man TT. Aw yeah.

Major life changes
Posted 11 years agoI know nobody reads these things, considering I have like...10 watchers. But oh well. :P
I'm happy to announce I am transferring from San Diego State to Miramar College in the fall. In addition, I will be dropping from the ROTC program and will not continue with a military lifestyle. It's just not for me and I don't want to continue with the commitment.
Instead I will be in the aviation maintenance program at Miramar College, yay! I'm excited to begin my career training to become an A&P Mechanic. I've also finally found a place for me to live for the summer (hopefully) just need to put my deposit down.
On a different note, I am selling my 1981 XL250S, my tough little enduro bike. I recently replaced both the front and rear brake levers, put a new taillight cover on it. I have new brake shoes (Yes, it's old) for the front and rear tire and new fork seals I need to replace. I should probably rebuild the carb, but it already runs good enough. I would already be selling it at a loss, so I don't feel like putting too much work into it. Taillight still busted. Street legal, but I would only use this thing for the dirt or puttering around town.
I'm asking 850 OBO for my furry friends discount.

Looking for a place
Posted 11 years agoDoes anyone know of any furs looking to rent out a room or looking for a roommate? San Diego area.
I need to find a place to live once my dorm shuts down. I think it would be cool living with some other furs.

Update on my busted bike
Posted 11 years agoSo, I decided I am going to buy back my busted up Ninja back from the insurance company once this whole thing is over with. I had an opportunity to go to the scrap yard where it was to take a look at it, the front fairings are still nearly perfect. My gas tank is fucked to hell and so is my tail.
I could fix it up, but all the little things are going to add up and make it a really expensive project. So I am just going to part it out instead.
Anyone need Ninja 650r parts or a fun new project?
Also, I get a bunch of money from my insurance for "pain and suffering" in addition to my property loss. Which is frickin awesome, time to buy a shiny new bike and if I have anything left over, buy a truck.
Thinking: GSXR600, ZX6R, ER6N, R6, etc. Anything I can wrap my legs around that goes really fast and makes a lot of vroom vroom and BRAAAP noises.

My bike got wrecked
Posted 11 years agoI was riding through spring valley yesterday to pick up my debit card which I forgot at an ATM. Cruising along about 30mph when a driver turned a left in front of me. I barely had time to get on the brakes before I impacted the right side of the car, where I was thrown forward and over the car.
I checked myself while people rushed over, and managed to get to my feet. I was a dumbass and decided not to wear my riding pants and boots that day, so my legs were covered in blood. One of my tennis shoes was 30 feet away. I had also just purchased a brand new Shoei helmet about an hour before hand, replacing my old and crappy one.
I stood up and took pictures of the crash scene on my phone. Then asked for some people to help get my bike on the stands. A bystander called 911 and an ambulance and firetruck shortly arrived.
I was already in the ambulance when the CHP officer arrived, but he managed to ask me a few questions before getting driven away.
In the end, I have a few stitches in my right knee and a ton of road rash on my leg and waist. I was lucky, damn lucky. My bike on the other hand was not.
Here are some photos: http://i.imgur.com/q5vmnyw.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Uq55Suc.jpg
Insurance should cover the bike, hell, I could even get a newer one of the deal. I won't quit riding just because I had a minor scrape. I just hope this whole process doesn't take too long.
My knee hurts like a bitch though, I can barely walk on it this morning without wincing. But at least I don't have to do PT for two weeks!
