I'm wondering if people would possibly be interested in owning original traditional art of their characters? I primarily work on smooth paper (cardstock is my favorite) with colored pencils and occasionally alcohol markers. While I also do digital art, I really enjoy traditional media more by far. Basically just curious if people would be interested in a commission style where you get to own the original art of your character in the end.

I promise I am still alive. I was gone from August to November visiting my wonderful boyfriend in Italy. Sadly a passport only allows me to be there for 3 months at a time. ;n; Waiting for March to get here so I can go back, possibly to stay this time <3. I've wanted to try this art subscription box for a while, and seeing a friend share it on facebook reminded me of it! I'm wondering if anyone else has tried it already and what did you think of it? It seems like a fun challenge to use only the supplies you get in the box to create a new artwork with, and it could be a fun way to get inspiration flowing again, which is something I've been having a hard time with. ;v; I don't have the money for it at the moment but I'm contemplating saving up for it....even if it's just the $24 for one month!

My art flow has slowed to a near stop thanks to stress and depression. ;w; I'm trying to do new things and get my inspiration back again but it's much easier said than done. Hopefully I will kill this artblock soon and have something new to post.

I was very fortunate when my maine coon, Orbit, passed away. She went quietly in her sleep, and had actually been doing a little better physically. I wish it could be that easy for everyone, but sadly life doesn't work that way. I'm often left wishing I could help others more.

I haven't really recovered from losing my Grandma in August. After 6 months, it seems like feeling better is impossible. For now I'm just trying to force myself to keep drawing and be distracted as much as possible. My brain is all over the place lol. ;v;

My grandma died in hospice on Monday, August 14th a little before midnight. I am unable to actually function. It takes everything I have just to get out of bed at all, and some days I just don't bother with food because it means going upstairs. A lot of my family seem to be starting to move on with their lives, and I am still stuck here wondering what the fuck happened. A month ago grandma was at home sitting on her bed talking with me. Now when I go in her room it's dark and empty. Things haven't been touched in 2 weeks.

Basically this is the reason I haven't been posting and until I manage to either pull through or not, this will be the way things are for a while.

I don't think I've ever felt a pain this bad in my entire life.

The past week has become the literal worst time of my life. Last Sunday, my grandma had her sister bring her to the ER to try and figure out what was going on. After 6 hours or more of waiting around there, they decided she should go to another hospital that had "more equipment". At the second hospital they discovered her cancerous tumors had blocked off her intestines.

So we had to wait a day for the cancer doctor to show up and explain our options.

I cried so much Monday and Tuesday that it seems like I've lost the ability. The only options that were available were to try an even more aggressive chemo treatment, which by itself could kill my grandma and only had a 10-20% chance of doing anything. Or, quit trying to treat it and just make her as comfortable as possible until the end. I knew she would choose not to do more chemo treatments, and I can't blame her at all with odds that low. Especially since the cancer simply mutated during the first try at chemo....

Now I am left to be her primary caretaker until the time comes when she either has to move to a hospice house so nurses can be around 24/7, or she dies at home. My grandma is the closest person to me, and she raised me like a mother. At the most, we have less than a year. The way things are going...I'll just be happy if she makes it to Christmas, since she loves the chance to see all of the family.

I have no idea how to handle this situation, since it was a blindside. It seemed like the chemo treatment had been working, so to suddenly hear that she has around 6 months left was a shock. I will be slow to post art for a while here. I sometimes post on my DA since I have work that I owe people, but even that is slow going. All of this also started on my first day of college classes, so that's great. Somehow I currently am doing well, so hopefully I can struggle through college well enough.

I guess this is just a journal to let anyone who cares know why it might seem like I've vanished or have gotten slower than usual at posting art here.

A few weeks ago my grandma got sick, and eventually developed some pain that made her decide to go to the ER. The ER had a ct scan done, and found masses in her abdomen. After that she went to a cancer center, where they stopped calling them "masses" and started saying "tumors". I stressed over it a lot more than grandma did lmao. They believe she has lymphoma, but are going to do a biopsy to confirm exactly what is going on. If it's lymphoma, they have a treatment plan ready and it should be under control easily. I continue to panic regardless, and my college psychology class is suffering because of it oops.

Perhaps the stress of a cancer scare caused my immune system to weaken, and I finally got the gross sick virus that's destroying my town lol. My aunt had it, then my cousin, then grandma, and now I finally have it. I was ok until I went to the medi-center to see a doctor. The next day was TERRIBLE. I basically just laid in bed for 2 days feeling like death ;w; I think I'm on the upswing now and slowly feeling better, so I will be trying to post more arts soon. I've been doodling more while I've been sick. I have a couple of traditional arts I need to scan, and hopefully tonight I will work on some digital doodles. It's a lot easier to post things when I do them digitally from the beginning lol.

Hello peeps! College is eating up a lot of my time, sorry for occasionally vanishing for a while. One class is pretty boring and tedious, but in my art class we're learning how to take care of artwork, make frames, mat art, set up shows like they would set up in a museum etc. It's really interesting to me to see all of the behind the scenes stuff that goes into preserving, storing and showing art. Soon we're going to be setting up a show at the college of the school's personal art collection. x__x We don't have a lot of time though so we have to do some work outside of normal class hours. It's still cool to be able to work hands on with this stuff!

Either in summer or fall of this year, I plan to go to Italy! I want to visit my love, and be able to see the place where he grew up. Italy is also a wonderful place for art with all of the old towns, cathedrals and old art museums! It would be a dream to get a job in a museum there. If things go really well, perhaps I will finish a master's degree in art history in Italy rather than being stuck in the US. I need to save about $1200 to be on the safe side, so I may post some YCH type stuff, or one-off adopts with more detail to them. Commissions are always open as well, starting as low as $10. Depending on when exams happen for my classes, things will slow down a bit then while I study a lot to prepare lol.

My winter semester of college has started, and it's drowning me in homework lmao. General psychology gave us 17 things to do this week. If everything is due by 3pm on Fridays and not just the essays, I'm screwed. I still need to watch 2 hours of videos for the class, take another test on chapter 1 and write the essay lmfao. My second class is Gallery/Collection Compendium, and we are learning how to do things that usually go on in a museum behind the scenes. Taking care of art, preserving it, learning to mat and mount artwork, and remove the mounts to put them back into storage. We're also going to be the first class to set up an exhibit of the college's personal art collection and show it! Maybe I'm boring, but it's really interesting to me lol. Hopefully I can get on track with psychology and not fail it, then I will be halfway to my associate degree.

Unfortunately things did not work out at the coffee shop. I had a panic attack, and then a complete mental breakdown just from training. I'm working with my counselor to get my anxiety back under control, and my meds were increased slightly as well. I don't know why it's gotten worse lately, but it's very frustrating to panic myself out of a job and feel so useless and miserable. On the bright side, college classes are going well, since I managed to get financial aid in time. I am loving taking violin lessons for college credit! Hopefully if I continue in fall I can take psychology and math....not looking forward to math lmao.
