Posted 17 years agoPpppersonally, I'm really growing to like FA the best. I mean sure, it's crawling with furries. Sure, it's REALLY EASY to find REALLY CREEPY art around here, but it's also really easy to avoid it. I mean, nobody is making you click that thing. And as long as you stay away from the main page where it shows recent uploads you should be fine, lol. DA is fancier and looks nicer, IMO, but it's just. Augh, am I the only person who feel swamped and lost in DA now? I used to swear by it, even through all the drama and the stupid stuff, I used to love posting there. But now it just feels like... Shit, it's so HUGE it's really easy to get lost in the corners. The 'community' feeling has kinda disappeared, from what I can see, cos it is just too fucking big. FA will probably never reach that level of population, and I like that.

God DAMN that's too long to go without seeing your significant other, imo. :c I feel so so so bad for army wives/girlfriends/husbands/boyfriends, too. i know our situation could be much worse, so i'm glad it's not.
Any of you guys in long-distance relationships too? It's very hard at times.

I hate turning my back on a person I'm in bed with. I don't know, I just feel bad doing it, like it's rude or something. But it's also aggravating because when you lie in a bed with someone, I find, you usually talk to them for at least a few minutes before you sleep, right? So I have to hold my head up from the pillow in order to still be able to hear them. OH, THE WOES OF MY LIEF.

Infected Mushroom and the fact that I have a thing for explosions and bombs.
3 | What species is your fursona and why did you choose that species?
Who the hell knows? I sure don't. I think it sort of changes slightly every time she's/he's drawn, and also with every person who draws her/him. Sometimes more river otter influence, sometimes rat-like hind feet, and obviously some ambiguous canine bits.
4 | What color is your fursona and why? Hair/fur/eyes/etc.
I used to have a 'seadog' character named Ashlander with photophores and webbed paws and a caudal fin and stuff, and it was baaaasically the same colours as Bombat is now. After having a wolfything fursonathing for so long and struggling to get the design right [it was almost always greysblackswhite] i decided at some point to go back to my, uh... roots? and just go with browns and stop trying so hard. lol.
5 | What is your fursona's personality and how does this compare to your RL personality?
She's pretty much just me, I guess.
6 | What is one item your fursona owns that is significant to you in RL?
She has the same piercings and gauged ears as I do...? And I often draw the 2 necklaces i always wear IRL on her. Oh, and my tattoos I suppose.

Posted 17 years agoSo I've been gone for a month. Went to Cuba [don't tell the government] and then got to spend a week in Nova Scotia with my Fishy and Brad! It was fucking awesome, and even though you probably don't know who Fishy or Brad are, that's ok. I'd link 'em, but they're not dirty furries and don't have accounts here anyway.
I have hundreds of photos. I'll post some in my art journal eventually. I've got a few drawings maybe... Nothing special, and nothing is scanned yet, so whatevs.

I'd been kind of using FA a lot because I like the 'small' atmosphere here, it's waaaay less terrifying to post here than it is to post on DevART. But i'm feeling so scattered and it gets hard to remember what has been posted where, and to decide what drawings I'm comfortable posting in a given location, and all that. so i feel like my best bet is just to go back to my journal, for the most part. i'll still use this I suppose. but a friend of mine made a good point that i have to consider about posting on art community websites.
i've just been doing a lot of thinking, and figuring out what other people advise, and blah blah blah blah blah.
