The wait to get accepted into college is agonizing
Posted 7 years ago[TW: Depression, suicide]
I'm trying to get into Georgia State University right now, making this my fifth attempt at getting into college. I've been accepted three times (officially two, but I was as good as accepted on the other one), but I've had to cancel my enrollment each time because I couldn't get the money.
The first time was Ball State University, it would've cost me $21,000 per year, and I could only get an $800 scholarship, plus the $5500 I got from FAFSA ($3500 of which I'd have had to pay back). The thought of being that much in debt from just my first year alone terrified me, so I canceled my enrollment.
The second time was University of South Florida, I think? It doesn't really matter because I didn't get accepted anyway.
The third time was a university in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan that had classes in English. With ALL living expenses included (tuition, rent, food, transportation, etc.), the cost of getting a bachelor's from that university (which would've only taken 3 years there) would've been $62,000, give or take a couple thousand. That's about $20,000 less than tuition ALONE at Ball State. I had to get tons of paperwork rounded up for the college, including a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher (and I had been graduated for 3 years by this point). I was *almost* guaranteed enrollment if I could get loans to attend. But no one would loan to someone leaving the country for school, and I couldn't find a way to get loans from Japanese banks. So I canceled my enrollment process.
The fourth time... this one really hurt. It was Full Sail. I had been accepted. I had taken the introductory classes already. My laptop would be coming the month after. I was ALREADY A STUDENT. I was a month away from the official start of term, and Full Sail told me to start looking for loans. I hit up 8. Different. Lenders. And not one of them would loan me $10,000/yr without a cosigner, despite the fact that the only way you can default on student loans is if you fucking die. And my parents weren't willing to cosign a total of $40,000. So, I had to cancel my enrollment, two WEEKS away from the first day of the semester. That nearly drove me to... let's just say I tried to call a certain hotline.
And now here I am, waiting on a response from GSU. And it's almost unbearable. This is the cheapest university that I've ever seen in the US (with tuition comparable to that university in Sapporo), with a degree program that would actually benefit me more than what I went for previously. I don't know what I'll do if I don't get accepted. I'm honestly terrified of what I'll do if I find a rejection letter in my mailbox. Will that be the thing that sends me over the edge? I don't know, and I don't want to find out.

Anyone familiar w/ Yanfly's Battle AI Core in RPG Maker MV?
Posted 7 years agoIf you are, I need help: https://twitter.com/PandorasArtbox/.....59341516193794
It seemed like a simple problem that'd have a simple solution, but I can't figure anything out.
I got close a few times, but most of them ended up with all the supporters casting the same move until the end of the turn (it's redundant after the first time),

Posted 7 years agoI'm flying home for Christmas on Saturday and won't be flying back until the Friday after Christmas, so I won't be able to work on any art during that time.

Considering quitting my job and focusing on art
Posted 7 years agoWow, I sold out FAST tonight. Thank you <3
I'm actually strongly considering quitting at Target now. I'm miserable at this new store (my old store was SO much better), so I'll be glad to quit. I'm overworked, we're understaffed, and I get chewed out when I can't finish the insane workload I have.
I'm still not quite at the point in my Patreon where I can pay rent, but I'll hopefully get there soon. If you want to help me, please consider checking out my Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/babypandora | I would appreciate it more than you know. And once I can do art full-time, I'll be able to actually do more art and Youthful Bliss. Thank you for your guys' support.

Patreon restructuring plans/ideas (Feedback requested)
Posted 7 years agoSorry for the lack of activity recently
Posted 7 years agoRegarding art, journals, answering notes... I've just been insanely stressed out recently, trying to keep up with Patreon stuff, Youthful Bliss, and other things. Not to mention that the Target I moved to absolutely sucks to work at.
I'm trying to be better, I really am.

RPG Maker MV users: How to implement a certain feature?
Posted 7 years agoOkay, how do I add states to enemies/players that get hit with their weaknesses? I'm not finding much on Google, and the little that I have found isn't working for me.
So does anyone know how to do that?

Commission prices update! (Commissions opening soon, too!)
Posted 7 years agoSo I moved out of my parents' place a few months ago, so I need a little more income. In order to pay my bills more easily, I'm raising my prices a bit. I hope it's not too much. I'll be posting the updated prices shortly.
Now, on to commissions themselves! I'll be opening commissions some time next week! Once I get through most of my Patreon rewards (which will also be going through restructuring soon), I'll let you know exactly when they'll be open! I might even take an animation!

3 Commission slots open! (CLOSED)
Posted 7 years agoYeah, it's been a while, sorry. But I'm opening up 3 commission slots with the following conditions:
No Telegram stickers or animations this time, sorry.
Lineart, flat color, or hard shading only.
And I would prefer general furry/human themes for this batch, just to add something to my portfolio. But I won't deny baby/diaperfur pics.

In regard to Youthful Bliss, and art in general
Posted 7 years agoSorry I haven't been active here on FA a lot recently. I recently moved out of my parents' place, and life has been very busy for the last couple months.
I will return to Youthful Bliss as soon as I'm done with the two other projects I'm working on at the moment: The last of this month's Patreon rewards, and the 9-page YCH comic (everything's colored, and I'm shading page 6). That comic would've been done by now... but moving out was a lot more time-sucking than I expected.
Please be patient, I want the next page to go up just as much as you guys do, I've been itching to work on it. Trust me, I haven't forgotten about it, I just haven't been able to work on it.

In regard to the drawing I posted earlier today (Important)
Posted 7 years agoIt's come to my attention that the drawing I posted earlier seemed to be a copy of another one that one of my friends commissioned a while ago. And seeing the picture now, I do recognize it.
I'm sorry. The image has been removed from both FA and Twitter, and the commissioner will be refunded his money. I don't want to keep it. I will also remove the image from my hard drive.
I recognize the original picture upon seeing it now, but it never came to mind when I was working on it, I promise. It was just another commission. But still, I am sorry. I didn't mean to upset you, and I hope you can forgive me

Commissions open! (CLOSED)
Posted 7 years agoI am now open for single-character, flat color drawings (no backgrounds)! Each slot will be $30.
I'm also wanting to experiment with my style a little bit here to diversify my portfolio. And while I won't deny baby/diaperfur drawings, I'd rather work on general themes for this batch of commissions. Thank you!
Note: Turnaround time *may* be a bit delayed. I'm still playing catch-up from FWA.

$30 single character commissions opening this Friday!
Posted 7 years agoSo I'm gonna open commissions this Friday, and I'm gonna limit it to single-character, no background, flat color drawings. I'm trying to build a bigger portfolio, too, so anything goes. I'd like to do some general artwork, not really tied to a particular theme (yet), but I'll still be willing to do babyfur stuff like normal.
NSFW or SFW is fine, too. I'll let you all know when I open.

One year ago today, I went to Japan
Posted 7 years ago(Apologies in advance if this seems all over the place. It's almost 1 a.m. and I didn't plan this journal lol)
Today marks an entire year since I landed at Narita International Airport just outside Tokyo, beginning the greatest two weeks of my life.
It's hard to think that it's been an entire year already. I still remember so much about my trip so vividly, they seem like memories from last month, not last year. It's so surreal, I've never had an experience stick with me quite like this one.
It was the first time I had ever been outside of the USA. I studied what to do and how to behave religiously in the months leading up to my departure. I did manage to find my way around just fine (once I got out of Tokyo Station, that place is a nightmare to get through). I stayed just outside of Kyoto, in a small city called Seta. My hotel was also a two minute walk away from the train station that took me back to Kyoto, and it was only $56 a night! The bed was really firm, but other than that, the hotel was a steal.
I'm not going to go over every single place I visited, I'd be here for hours typing it all out lol. I'm just gonna list my favorite places.
The first place I visited was the Kyoto Pokemon Center. I then went to Kiyomizu-dera and Yasaka-jinja, the bus stops to which are on the same road.
A few days into my trip, I lost my JR Pass (which is VERY important), so I had to buy a train ticket to Osaka to get it back. While I was there, I visited Osaka Castle, which has been renovated into a museum about the history of Osaka and the castle.
I went to Nara, too. This was one of my favorite days, because I saw tons of small temples and got to feed deer! I still have a keychain of Shikamaro-chan (Nara's deer mascot) attached to my house/car keys! I also got to see Todaiji Temple, which is a huge temple with a HUGE Buddha statue inside. Like, 15 meters tall, huge.
Back in Kyoto, I visited Sanjuusangen-do as the cherry blossoms really started to come into full bloom. It was early in the morning, so the grounds were relatively empty and very quiet, despite one of Japan's biggest cities being on the other side of its walls. Then inside, my jaw nearly hit the floor. There were 1001, probably 1.5 meter, Buddha statues lining the entire length of the very long hall. There were also other gods at each end, and (I think) one in the middle. It was amazing.
I also went to Akihabara where I got Super Mario 64 and Pokemon Green! I also got a few flavors of Kit Kats! There was a brand-new Carls Jr. there, too, and of course I ate there. I nearly laughed inside, though, because they were playing Power of Love as I walked in, then the next song was one by Eminem lol. The food was good, too, though they said it was served in an American way (there were even signs telling Japanese people how to order, for some reason), but the way they served it was kinda confusing to me. I can't describe it, but it was strange. I dunno why they advertised it as an "American order style," though. I got McDonald's a couple times, too, and it's EXACTLY the same as it is here.
Anyhoo, I could be here all nigh... morning about my trip. But I gotta go to sleep. If you actually read this, thank you for reading my impromptu geek-out journal about my trip to Japan.

Now offering prints for comms! (General prints coming soon)
Posted 7 years agoI just got a printer that is printing out sharp-looking pics, and I plan on making general prints to sell!
But until then, I can also print out your commissions if you want a physical copy of it! Granted, the format/ratios I've used for drawings up until now haven't exactly been that of 8.5"x11" photo paper, so I *may* have to crop some of the image if you want a borderless picture. If you don't mind white borders, then there won't be a problem :3
If you do want a print for a drawing I've made for you, send me a note. Just be sure to include the word "Print" somewhere in the subject bar so I know that the note is about.
General info about prints:
Pictures will be printed on 8.5"x11" glossy photo paper.
Price will be $10 for one print, or $17 for two, +$1 for shipping in the USA (I can ship outside the US, but I don't know how much it will cost).
Print *can* be borderless, though some cropping may have to happen. Print can also have borders if you don't want the image to be cropped, or if you want to frame it.
Mails from Florida
PayPal only

Thinking about making stickers, I just have one concern
Posted 8 years agoSo I'm thinking about printing my own stickers and selling them, but I'm hesitating for one reason: the longevity of stickers.
Are they going to be around for a while longer? Or are they just a fad right now? I've only been to two furry cons, so I don't know if they're a relatively new thing or if they've been around for a while.

On the note of ABU's lawsuit on Tykables
Posted 8 years agoLet me preface this by saying I am NOT taking sides.
But ABU has to do this, they don't have a choice in the matter. If they let Tykables use "Space Cadet," they'll risk losing their trademark over "Space." That's how trademarks work. If they can't talk something out, ABU has to take legal action, no matter how stupid it may seem.
And the people at ABU aren't dumb. They know it's stupid, they know it's going to create backlash. But their hands are tied. This isn't about the ABDL community tearing itself apart (see the Rearz incident from last month), this is about the ABDL community having to play by the Trademark Office's rules.
I hope both companies will be able to talk this out and the lawsuit doesn't go all the way to the end. I still think highly of both companies and hope a peaceful resolution can be achieved.

How to homebrew New 3DS XL without DSiWare?
Posted 8 years agoI'm just looking to play my 3DS games on my computer so I can play them in HD, but apparently you have to homebrew your 3DS first. Problem is, boot9strap requires DSiWare to work, and I don't have any (anymore), and there's no way to legitimately download them anymore (pirated copies won't work).
So is there a way to do it? I swear I'm not looking into pirating, I just wanna play the 3DS games I already own in HD.
