Survey about adult and/or furry art
Posted a year agoHey there! Me and a friend have traded ideas about a payment service for adult content, and we're looking into possibly making a service for us and other artists/commissioners to use. However, we need some help researching whether or not our ideas are really viable. So whether you're an artist or art consumer, it'd mean a lot if you could answer our research survey:

We don't take any identifying info other than your age group and gender - the Google e-mail address is not shared with us. Thanks for checking it out!

Releasing some SubscribeStar stuff for free
Posted a year agoHow cool is it that you announce that you're back, before immediately getting hit with writer's block...?
So, yeah. New vore content from me is gonna be very sporadic. I even had a commission lined up that I was excited to work on, but I sadly had to call it off for now.
As such, SubscribeStar is also staying locked for now - which means that some content that I released there was no longer accessible. As a compromise, I'm releasing some of the things that were previously only available to my supporters, completely free. Not everything (there are a lot of unstructured posts, mostly WIPs from Crossing Over), just the two main documents that I'd put up behind a paywall:
- A breakdown of my story Taken In: https://gallery.badmanners.xyz/blog.....-in-breakdown/
- A retrospective/postmortem of my game Crossing Over: https://gallery.badmanners.xyz/blog.....er-postmortem/
Anyway, I don't have much else for now. Mostly I've been busy coding, and I hope to share some stuff related to that in my new blog (as you can tell from the URLs above). I'm still available to talk on Discord and all that. Alright, see ya!

Back to it!
Posted a year agoHello! I figured I should make a "back from hiatus" post after the "going into hiatus" one. I definitely needed a break from writing, plus I wanted to do some personal non-vore stuff for a change, but now I'm back for the very sporadic endosoma uploads you've been waiting for.
I don't want this post to be too long, so here's a summary of how a few things stand:
- Commissions: They're open again. Price is the same as always ($1.50 per hundred words), info at https://badmanners.xyz/terms_of_service etc. Because they tend to burn me out faster, I might be slower to work on commissions compared to personal stories (yes, despite already being a slow writer; if you've commissioned me before, you know). Thanks for understanding.
- SubscribeStar: I'm probably gonna keep it closed for now. As much as I appreciate all support (thank you to those who subscribed in the past!), I dunno what I can offer for subscribers currently. Either everyone else will have less free content available, or people who donate wouldn't get their money's worth - and I want to avoid either scenario. I can handle the lack of extra income for the foreseeable future, so until I think of a better use for it, I prefer keeping things as they were.
- The Lost of the Marshes: I'm putting it on hold indefinitely. I know some people are invested and looking forward to its conclusion, but I honestly haven't been enjoying working on the story for a few personal reasons. I've had the rest of the story planned out, to tie all of the loose ends from the previous chapters, but I have the feeling that things got out of hand - and, right now, I'd rather be working on other stories than push out a half-assed ending. Maybe I'll go back to this series one day, but certainly not for a while... I'm sorry to disappoint.
Anyway, that's enough rambling for now. I've got some new stuff to upload tonight. See you around!

Going on hiatus
Posted a year agoI'm going to take a longer break, since I'm not motivated enough to keep a regular upload schedule. My SubscribeStar will remain frozen (no billing to existing subscribers and no new subcriptions), and I won't be taking commissions or uploading stories for the time being.
If you need to reach out, I'll still be using Discord and Telegram regularly.

Now on SubscribeStar!
Posted 2 years agotl;dr: No, I'm not paywalling my content! All of my future stories will continue to be free and public, but if you would like to support me financially and get extras, keep reading!
I've been looking into some ways of letting people support my content financially, outside of commissions (or my tip jar on Stripe). And a subscription service sounds like the best way to do it. So I got in contact with SubscribeStar (which, for those who don't know, is a subscription platform focused on fictional adult-oriented content creators), who approved my profile on their website. Hooray!
But I also don't want to lock my stories behind a paywall, since having my content freely available is very important to me – I want my writing to be enjoyed by all, including those who can't (or don't want to) pay for it. At the same time, I understand wanting to get stuff in return for your money, so I don't want to offer nothing in return.
Therefore, I decided to grab my latest story, "Taken In", and add annotations pertaining to my writing process! Thoughts, research, trivia, tidbits, and hidden intents...a little bit of everything in a tidy-ish PDF! Check the first page preview here!
If that piqued your interest, please consider checking out my SubscribeStar profile. You can access all 11 pages of annotated story by paying me as little as $1!
https://subscribestar.adult/bad-manners
Now for some questions you might have...
Q: Why are there multiple tiers? A: To allow people to support me however they feel like! The minimum support amount is $1, but to get access to all of my SubscribeStar exclusive content, you'll have to be in the $5 tier or higher. As of right now, both posts (the annotated story + a post detailing my plans for January) are available at the lowest tier. But I'm looking into different options of restricted content for $5+ supporters, such as the ability to vote in polls.
Q: What if I only want to pay you $1 for the annotated story, then unsubscribe? A: Not a problem! SubscribeStar defaults to monthly recurring payments, but it easily lets you unsubscribe after a single payment, and still gives you subscription perks for the rest of the month! Of course, if you want to support me recurrently – or pay me more than $1 –, I'd appreciate it a lot!!
Q: What if I don't want to pay you? A: That's alright! Even if I don't get any subscribers at all, I'll still keep posting new content to the best of my ability, like always. If you don't subscribe, nothing will change for you. If this is you, then I still appreciate you reading this far into my post!
Q: Why don't you... timegate your content? A: I don't really like that. Subscribers don't really get any value from accessing stuff early – and I imagine most people would simply wait it out. Plus, not only would it be stressful for me to schedule updates to five different websites + SubscribeStar, but it might be bad for my gallery's visibility and growth. Even if people were willing to pay for early access, it's not something I want.
Q: Why don't you... offer commission discounts? A: Unfortunately, I don't expect to take on commissioned work regularly. I have periods where I want to work on my own projects, or take longer breaks from writing. And when I am able to work on commissions, I struggle with more than one at a time. It'd be unfair for any subscribers who want to grab a commission slot from me but are unable to.
Q: Why don't you... host story raffles? A: SubscribeStar prohibits any "unlicensed lottery, including but not limited to sweepstakes, raffles, mystery boxes, and other contests with offering a free gift, prize as an inducement to purchase their product or service". Besides, if I do any more raffles, I'd rather they remain public and free to enter, like my first one.
Q: Why don't you... (... some other idea ...)? A: Maybe! As long as it's allowed by SubscribeStar and doesn't get in the way of my public story uploads. If you have any ideas, please hit me up and I'll look into incorporating them. After all, both me and any supporters would benefit from an engaging profile, right?
Q: Will you change your mind about the rewards? A: I'm only starting out on SubscribeStar, so I'm still figuring out what works and what doesn't. However, I may adjust the tiers with time. I want to reiterate yet again that my stories, existing or new, will remain public and free as long as I'm making them. But who knows, maybe I can find more interesting rewards to offer you?

2023 was quite a roll23coaster...
Posted 2 years ago(...Wait, a 'rollrecoaster'? That doesn't look right.)
Anyway, yeah! Another year, another end-of-year journal. Which I definitely didn't forget to make until the second week of the new year, nope.
It was okay, all things considered! A lot of stuff happened, so it didn't feel as slow as the last few years.
As you can guess from the title, my personal life had lots of ups and downs. Many high highs...and many low lows. Not really stuff I wanna go into detail in public, although many of these lows were related to mental health stuff. Thankfully, nothing too serious! But it's still stuff I don't want to ignore, especially since it affects my ability to keep a consistent writing schedule. I'm working towards a solution, and hope to actively deal with this throughout this year and beyond.
As for furry/vore community stuff, it's definitely been good overall! Finally made a fursona, and people hate it less than I expected...! I also commissioned a lot of great artists for art with my sona and some other OCs - all of which I'm very happy with, after years of lurking and silently admiring their stuff, and now getting to directly support them! I met so many great people, and got involved in some smaller communities I'm happy to be a part of. I've also released a bunch of new stories (although I didn't finish The Lost of the Marshes like I'd hoped in the last journal, but that's alright - I still have plans to continue it throughout 2024). These stories also include commissions and requests, which I've dabbled with a lot more in 2023, and I'm happy with all the opportunities and support - thank you!
However, even though I just posted a commission, I'll be taking a break from commissions for the start of this year - and give myself some time to write some of my own ideas, or maybe just try to take a break in general, who knows. I do want to go back to working on commissions eventually, when I'm more motivated. Anyway, commissions or not, as you may have guessed, I'm not going away anytime soon! I'm still gonna keep working on stories - and try to become better and better at this whole writing thing, as my main goal has always been.
See you around!

[CLOSED] STORY RAFFLE TIME! Celebrating one year of writi...
Posted 2 years agoThis raffle closed on June 12th. Thanks for participating!
Are there even other websites for writers...?
Posted 2 years agoNo, this won't be a post about the policy, I think other users have already said enough about it. And no, nothing is gonna change from my side, I'll keep posting stuff here as I've been doing for almost a year now. But I've been thinking about the future of the website, and how at the very least, it might be better to not keep every egg in one basket, so I should probably find more galleries to upload to.
I already have another gallery on Eka's Portal, and I'm looking into self-hosting my stories too, but it'd make more sense to follow the community wherever people decide to migrate to. I've seen a bunch of artists mainly move off to Twitter or Discord, but I feel that both of those are quite impractical as art galleries. For Twitter, I honestly don't see that website surviving much longer, aside from how awful its algorithmically-tinkered infinite scroll can be; and Discord, despite being my primary channel, feels like a bunch of limited, closed off spaces that don't interact with each other. Plus, they seem more focused on artwork, and not really suitable for stories. Mastodon is a bit better on both aspects, but it's still just as art-focused as those two.
So what other options are there? I guess Weasyl and SoFurry are options, but my impression is that both websites are barren... Maybe I've got the wrong impression? Also, IB seems more populated and resilient, despite the site's reputation. I don't wanna spread out too much, mind. Maintaining both galleries is already a bit of a hassle as-is. But maybe I should look into those three or others? I'd like to hear any suggestions or opinions, though.

Some gallery re-organization...
Posted 2 years agoNothing was lost. Mostly this just involves moving stories and categories around, reuploading thumbnails, changing formats for readability, etc. Biggest change you may see (or not) is breaking down my "vore shorts compilations" into separate flash fics, since they were more of a hassle to share and discover than regular stories. I've tried to mute notifications as best as possible so that I don't end up spamming any watchers, but chances are you still got stuff to appear in your inbox. In which case... sorry! If you'd also faved one of the two uploads I had, again, sorry. Going forward, I'll probably just upload flash fics separately.
On FurAffinity (sadly Eka's doesn't have anything like this), I've also added a new categorization per story size, matching my new commission price tiers...which is also a good segue into reminding that I'm open for commissions...err, semi-open. Maybe. We'll see. Technically they've been semi-open for a while, but I deleted the original journal after walking back on it. Anyway, there's more info on my main profile page that you should check if you're interested. If not, I hope that you still enjoy my next uploads!
EDIT: Two more things I learned during this process. The first is that Eka's Portal also supports "iconBadManners" between colons to link to other users, just like FurAffinity - but it even sends a notification to you whenever you're mentioned, even by yourself. The second thing is that FABUI is an amazing tool to upload multiple stuff to FA.

Transphobia, that one game, and my bad takes...
Posted 2 years ago...that everyone is already tired of reading and that have been repeated ad nauseam, but I still need to get off my chest. Even if I promised myself to keep anything politics-related out of this silly endo story-posting identity off this corner of the Internet.
There's a very clear push from the far right and its figureheads for genocide against trans people, especially in places like the US, both in legal and social spheres. It's an attempt to push authoritarianism, but even if it wasn't, the anti-trans movement in itself is abhorrent. Even before they brought up the eradication of trans people, it was abhorrent - but now, turning a blind eye is not just being irresponsible, it's being complicit.
Meanwhile, the anti-trans movement continues to accrue power, and JKR, one of their main leaders, uses her platform and her hold over the HP intellectual property to spread direct hate against trans people, short of calling for their genocide. She's used her social and literal capital to oppress the marginalized group. It's not trans people that have made HP 'political and transphobic', Rowling has. She's pretty much admitted to as much: in almost every sense, she and the HP intellectual property are synonymous, and she has directly squeezed every ounce of support for HP that she can to propagate her hateful agenda.
Don't let her weaponize your nostalgia to give her more power. If you play the HP MMORPG, even if you think that trans people should not be the target of genocide, what you're signaling is that you value this game more than what trans people have to say, at best. At worst, you're saying that your fun is more important than their lives.
But if you're around so many online communities (which I expect the people who read this to be), feigning ignorance on this issue is not an excuse. I haven't been the first person to talk at length about this, and I won't be the last. And I consider myself a terrible educator, so I'm not the best person to talk about this kind of stuff. If you are legitimately concerned about this sort of thing, and you have 3h30m to spare, watch Jessie Gender's video, she covers every nuance far better than I ever could: https://youtu.be/_GBUArD51KY
Q: But how can you even 'genocide' trans people? There isn't a genetic component to being trans.
You can mentally replace 'genocide' with 'eradication' and it won't change the meaning of this post. But also, that's just arguing semantics. Genocide has never been about actual genes. It's not like, say, the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda was based off actual genetics; no one sorted the genome of people into different ethnic groups to decide if they should live or not. Genocide has always been about hate, oppression, and extermination. Which is why phrases like 'cultural genocide' - which couldn't be any further from 'genes' - exist. What is happening in many places and political groups is, without a doubt, a genocide attempt against trans people.
Q: Why are you discussing politics?
The fact that this issue constitutes 'politics' in the first place shows how biased our discussions are, where the existence of certain people in itself is considered political. It's only political because the status quo has made it so any discussion of oppression and marginalization of minorities is a debate against two sides. But it's my stance that any stances such as the anti-LGBTQ+ movements are, ultimately, anti-mankind. It shouldn't even be a political issue in the first place. Trans people simply existing should not be political; and it was anti-trans rhetoric (copied from rhetoric of other oppressive structures of power) that made it 'political' in the eyes of society. As for the reason why I'm discussing this? Like I said, this issue, at its bare bones, is not just bad for trans people, it's bad for the whole of mankind. Turning it into a political issue is, in fact, a way to justify a shift into authoritarianism (which is just awful for everyone); but even aside from that, just like racism and misogyny and homophobia and any other hate crimes, it's just bad for our mental health, individually and collectively. Hate is bad. Sorting people into boxes to dish out hate is just an effective tool for bad faith actors like the anti-trans movement.
Q: Aren't trans people the aggressors here?
No. That's more anti-trans rhetoric, constantly spread by the hate movement such as figureheads like JKR herself. They've long called trans people 'inherently violent', making up fake narratives to support this claim, and then enact actual violence against them. Even though every serious study shows that trans people are the victims. But the more anti-trans movement calls trans people 'violent', as 'having a hidden agenda', as 'being groomers', as 'converting people into a cult' - and whatever next lie they come up with and try to see if it sticks -, the more they can justify their own vile actions.
I don't want to talk about this anymore, but I feel that I have to at least get this stuff out of my chest. It's unfortunate that this is an issue that even exists in the first place. But even more so, I've already had to deal with bad actors using these talking points about trans people enacting politically-motivated violence when what they're doing is fighting for their right to exist. In fact, it recently forced me out of my main friend group which, already given my bad record of depression, has just done a number on my mental health. But even though I'm cis, even if I wasn't forced out of groups that continue to let this anti-trans ideology fester under the guise of 'good vibes only'...as a person, I have a stake on this, too. I want my wonderful friends to thrive and be happy, be treated not simply as 'trans people' but as 'people', and if they aren't happy, then I don't think I can be, either.
That's all I have to rant about for now. Feel free to unwatch, or send supportive or hateful comments/DMs, or continue to play the TERF game, or not interact at all. As for me, it's time to go back to not managing to write any vore stories and be useless and cry in bed all day again.
EDIT:
Q: It's just a game! Why are you so adamant about me not playing it?
EXACTLY. It IS just a game! Why are YOU so adamant about playing it? You can play something else, anything else! No one is forcing you to play this. Continuing to play this game is, in fact, not a passive stance.
There's a very clear push from the far right and its figureheads for genocide against trans people, especially in places like the US, both in legal and social spheres.
Leaving 2022 behind
Posted 3 years agoI've been considering writing vore stories for a long while, to finally put down some ideas that I've had floating in my head for years. I never actually committed to it for so long, but for one reason or the other, I chose this year to start writing and publishing them here. I thought, 'why the hell not'. There was nothing to lose, and I could just call it quits whenever I wanted to.
Nevertheless, I was nervous about no longer being just a lurker, and putting stuff out there for other people to enjoy or judge... And I'm still so anxious before each new upload! But I don't regret becoming a writer at all. Not only I'm happy to spread these stories, or to get to meet some wonderful people because of it, but I've been more motivated to write more and improve, all due to that decision.
So thank you! For your support. For the favs, the watches, the comments. Even for silently enjoying the stories without interacting at all, if that's your thing. And for reading this little fluff piece.
You can expect more stuff from me in 2023, since I plan to keep making assorted non-fatal furry vore stories for the foreseeable future. What Manner of content, you might ask? Well... plenty more one-off stories and shorts, maybe a few sequels too. I'll probably conclude TLotM, and consider tackling another long-term project afterwards. Perhaps I'll open comms at some point if there's interest, though I still want most of my content to be personal.
See you around!

Rant – My thoughts on digestion in vore
Posted 3 years agoI don't like digestion. I feel that I need to say that straight out of the gate.
Which isn't to say it's awful, or that people who like it are bad, far from it. If you like it or create vore with digestion, hell yeah, keep at it. And if you're otherwise part of the "(fatal) vore is murder" crowd, or you shame artists that make mixed content (fatal + non-fatal), I hope that you can grow out of it quickly. But I want to talk about my personal experience with it.
At one point I used to hate any depiction of digestion, but with enough exposure to vore content, I learned to tolerate it, and it's fine. Over time, I also shed most of my self-imposed moral restriction that I couldn't enjoy any vore content with digestion in it. That said, I feel that, when I (rarely) do find a piece of media that I enjoy and it has digestion, I enjoy it "in spite of" the digestion instead of "because of" the digestion. And I think that's normal, it's just how personal preferences work.
But still, I can't help but wonder what it would be like if I did enjoy it. It feels that so much vore media (especially stories) has digestion or reformation, and that I'm missing out on a lot of cool stuff out there. In fact, some aspects or scenarios included in them that I enjoy barely appear in endo, so my choices are to gloss over the digestion in stuff that has it, or to deprive myself from that part of my fetish.
On the other hand, those two things – how it feels that most stories out there lean toward digestion, or at least non-endo; and how the fewer endo stories that I find don't always lean towards my specific preferences – have been a big motivator for me to start writing instead of just lurking. I wanted there to be more vore content aligned with my tastes, so I decided "heck, might as well make it myself". (Which, in reverse, might not be content suited to your preferences every time; that's how it goes.) I don't see myself writing digestion stories in the foreseeable future, because I only want to write stuff that I like, but it might happen one day if the stars align and I find the perfect scenario that lets me enjoy it.
And on a final note, thanks to everyone who tags their stories with digestion or non-fatal, or more extreme fetishes, so I know what to expect beforehand. I'm personally way less inclined to read content that doesn't, and I'll sometimes read stuff that has digestion if it's well-written and enjoyable.
Anyway, what are your thoughts? Do you like digestion? Do you not like it? Do you engage with the content or creators of vore media with digestion? Have your preferences changed over time? Feel free to speak your mind.
