What is up with Lustynet?
General | Posted 11 years agoA few months ago, I created this thing called Lustynet, a way for games to be tied to a database, enabling leaderboards and eventually I would hope multiplayer and other fun things. I added Lustynet to Fappy Bird, and then went mostly dark with the whole concept.
So here's what's up. I was not working on any Lustynet projects, I've been far too busy with other stuff I'm hoping to make profitable, namely my commercial game and other projects. There are only so many hours in a day, and between a full time job and big production projects, something had to be cut. That was Lustynet and other flash projects.
With that in mind however, I'm happy to announce that Flash work has resumed at least sporadically. I had all of these big plans with multiple rereleases of my games, but due to outside factors (
caesarcub), I've decided to move immediately upon the production of a LN enabled Lusty Labyrinth. I'm hoping to have it done by September, so you can all look forward to that.
And hopefully eventually, I'll be able to move to other such projects that I wanted to get to.

Looking forbgood EDM with solid drops
General | Posted 11 years agoHey all,
I've been listening to lonely island's "when will the beat drop" for the past few days and was wondering if anyone knew of other similar music but royalty free, ie, which I can legally use in commercial projects. I'm out a music aficionado so I'm sure many of you are in a better position to provide ideas for this. Let me know, thanks!

Looking for an artist to make an Android game with
General | Posted 11 years agoThis is a for profit project, with profit sharing between me and the artist.
I'm working on a poker game for Android, with RPG elements. The game will have the player fighting various opponents and dealing damage according to his hands. He will be able to level up his stats as well as change the rules of poker (6 cards in hand, hold and draw twice, etc). The artist will need to provide an interface for the game as well as set up some opponents for the player to fight. There are no animations involved, just static images.
That's the gist of it, let me know for those interested.

Android games
General | Posted 11 years agoSo I started to learn about Android game dev (iOS may be coming after, who knows). I wanted to know what was the level of interest people had about an Android version of Lusty Labyrinth, which likely wouldn't have the porn but would keep the same basic concept, maybe add a few options to keep it interesting.
Let me know, thanks

Lustynet stats are now online
General | Posted 11 years agoI've been closely monitering Lustynet since it returned online, checking out the database, people creating accounts and playing, all that good stuff, and I figured that others might be interested in seeing the stats as well so I've made a quick page at www.lustynet.com to see all of those sweet, delicious numbers. We've got login stats, total players, leaderboards, all of that good stuff. Let me know if you want to see more stuff up on there.
Again, big thanks to
tigerpaw as even though he hasn't been involved directly with Lustynet, just having a stable and free server to host it is just what I needed. Go check him out at www.furrynet.com

General | Posted 11 years agoHey guys!
Just to let you know that I've finally put Fappy Bird Online back online, I've done some debugging and although I'm sure some people will manage to find some flaws in the system, I've attempted to make it just a bit more stable than before.
So start playing at http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13669350/.
Also, remember that you can add people to watch from the Account Manager. You can watch other FA accounts, see their scores and try to beat them. Over time, I'm sure I'll make watchers more important as well, for instant when I get into proper multiplayer.
So, barring any unforeseen issues, I can get back to making a new, yet unannounced game, which will be the first title to have Lustynet included from the get-go, although I will still have an option for offline play. And following that, I'll start converting my older titles from the top down like Sex Trivia (with new artists and features), Guess who (with live multiplayer) and eventually, Lusty Labyrinth.
It's going to be a blast, I'm sure of it.

Lustynet: The account manager is back online
General | Posted 11 years agoI've put the new account manager online, meaning that you can now create accounts and/or manage your account. I've now switched hosts to furrynet.com, managed by
tigerpaw In the end, I'm hoping that having a furry centric host will help me with what I'm trying to accomplish. Fappy Bird Online is forthcoming, probably on Thursday or Friday, but I need to change a few things to resolve the issues which were popping up before the crash.
To access, the account manager, go to http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13669285
And please let me know of any bugs with the manager.

The status of Lustynet
General | Posted 11 years agoSo, I have been searching for a new host for Lustynet and I did create an account on a new host. Right now I could do a simple database upload and redirect on the games, but since Fappy Bird wasn't always uploading scores properly I'd rather take a few hours to resolve that bug. I'll check it out as soon as I can.
So hopefully within the next few days I'll post a journal with the subject saying that "Lustynet is back online". That'll be code for Lustynet is back online.

Lustynet is down due to too much popularity
General | Posted 11 years agoTo anyone trying to create an account or otherwise use Lustynet, apparently we have reached the limits of the server I was using for hosting. More than 100 accounts were created, and apparently the host didn't like that. So now I need a new host.
Does anyone know of a web hosting service which is free, reliable, has PHP and SQL, and won't put any ads upon my page (otherwise parsing the code will be difficult). Please let me know, thanks.
And good job to all of you, breaking down the system like that. I realize it was a rough start, but I'll try to bring the required modifications accordingly.

Lustynet: so it begins
General | Posted 11 years agoSo I've just posted the first ever Lustynet game in the form of Fappy Bird Online.
So what is Lustynet? It's an online service I'm debuing for my games, in order to provide support for features not typically found, or indeed features I've never seen on FurAffinity. With Lustynet, I can create leaderboards for games, which I've done, but I also want to do more involved things like multiplayer for Guess who got banged. It'll be a learning process about what I can do, and probably also figure out how to do it quickly since admittingly, although I did spend a fair amount of time to conceive it, I remain a busy guy with other projects brewing.
Shout out to
polarthief, who has been helping me out as best he can with debugging this thing, but for some reason he's been unable to create an account or otherwise access Lustynet. As I understand, most people can connect fine, but if he's unable to connect, then I'm sure others could face the same issue as well. Therefore, I would be much obliged if people could send me bug reports, issues they've been having, all that good stuff.
I hope you enjoy Lustynet, it's something I've wanted to do for a while now. Hopefully it'll work half decent, since it was essencially made in 2-3 days.

Prepare yourselves...
General | Posted 11 years agoBecause tomorrow, (or sunday), I am going to put something on FurAffinity which, to my knowledge, has never been done before on FA. It's something I've wanted to do for a while, and finally I figured out how to do it. I hope you can all enjoy the result.
And yes, it's a game, but no, it's not a new game.

Game of Thrones Season 1 Question (spoilers)
General | Posted 11 years agoDid Daenerys give birth to her son in an episode? I feel like I missed an episode since one moment she's pregnent, the other they announce that her son is dead, I never saw her son, apparently he was deformed or something.
I feel like the series is missing half of the exposition scenes. I don't need everything to match the books, but I feel like characters are thrown into situations without having a logical build up. Passing lines are supposed to cover multiple pages of exposition, there's no time to care for any of the characters since there are so many. In the books, you got a full chapter with the character to learn about them and grow with them. That's also how Lost did it with it's 15 main characters (amazing series even today, amazing pacing). I really felt the series needed about 3 episodes worth of content to explain things properly. <
As it is, I get that it's like Lord of the Rings for the silver screen, but the story feels so rushed. There's no time to appreciate any moment of it because it tries to cover so much content on so few episodes. The direwolves are supposed to be super important and share a deep connection with the children, but we only see Sansa's wolf for 2 scenes, once to remind us that she has a wolf, and once to have it killed. There's absolutely no attempt to convey the deep connection with her, nor any other, except maybe Bran.
I'm very disappointed. Can anyone tell me if the later seasons get better?

Does anyone follow e-sports?
General | Posted 11 years agoI'm a really big fan of watching various fighting games being streamed at a tournament level, almost anything really except Tekken and the anime games (Persona, BlazBlue, etc.). I'm curious if people here follow games as well. I'm guessing there's more than a handful League of Legends fans.
This weekend, come hell or high water..
General | Posted 11 years ago... I'm releasing something. There, it's said, it can't be recanted. It won't be as big as I hoped, but I think people will still enjoy it.
A new project, and I need your help
General | Posted 11 years agoI'm getting ready to release a quick project I've been working on, it just needs a few more hours of work. My last "Should I do this" project didn't pan out after I realized that my art skills were worst than expected. But that's fine, this one is pretty much done, but it needs more content.
I need a list of artists which you guys enjoy, who make gay porn and are on FA. I just need a list, I don't want you guys to be contacting them or anything, but I want to know who's art you like. There's no number too big, but try to keep it at max 20. I've already done a lot of the footwork, I'm just looking to close the deal on some things.
I'm always looking to make something different with my games. I think this one is definitely that.

Should I do this?
General | Posted 11 years agoSo for those who follow XKCD, you'll know that the guy posted an interactive webcomic which he updated regularly with new panels, using text provided by his fans. You can see the ongoing result at http://xkcd.com/1350/
I think that's a really cool idea, so I'm considering doing something similar where I would create a Flash file and update it daily with the text provided by people in the comments. It would be a Sonic story, and i would be the one drawing this. The thing is, I'm not going to spend hours upon hours drawing this, it'll remain fairly simplistic and considering my art skills, probably disappointing visually. I would prepare a few panels and then add new content according to comments, adding text options for the player to choose.
Is this something which would be interesting to anyone as an ongoing experiment?

So the new TMNT movie trailer came out
General | Posted 11 years agoI am definitely not a Michale Bay fan by any stretch and considering what he did with Transformers, am unlikely to even give TMNT a chance unless I hear really rave reviews. That being said, why does the trailer look so generic? Narration talking about how shitty New York is, quick shots of soldiers running around, a lot of quick flashes of action. Eventually we do get to see the turtles, but still, it feels like the most generic movie trailer ever. Is this really the best they could do with the material?
Also, why do the turtle's faces look like the special effects from Annoying Orange, with the large mouth and teeth?
Horrible, uninspired trailer.

Every day, I log into FA and look at my new favs and watches
General | Posted 11 years agoI am not the most popular fur out there. According to popufur.com (which was updated months ago), I'm now around the 3900th most popular fur out there. But even beyond that, I don't actually chat with a lot of people. I tend to be a very all or nothing kind of guy, I want to invest myself completely into something, or not at all. So I don't have many "casual friendships", I just have a few good friends who know me and whom I know fairly well.
But that being said, I want to thank the people who watch my account. When I make games, I try to make them the best they can be, and it's not always easy because the truth is, I have more passion for game making than most people I've ever worked with, not to mention more time to spend on the matter. It's not a criticism, and there's no doubt I would be where I am without the hard work from
caesarcub and
brubearbrown.
What I mean to say is that a lot of people say criticize the whole popufur concept and just say to do whatever you want to do. And I agree to some extent. But that being said, I wouldn't make my games if there wasn't anyone to play them. I don't play them, I'm too busy moving on to my next big thing. So really, I just want to thank the people who enjoy my work. I do it for myself, but I wouldn't do it if you guys weren't around to enjoy it. It's a kind of simbiotic relationship I suppose.
And for those wondering, I currently have 4 projects in the works, including one where I am not the designer and one which aims for commercial success. That last one has been a source of a great amount of stress, and more to come without a doubt. I can only hope that this leads into a success story and 10 years from now, although the stress is likely to remain, I can rely on more people to carry that burden.

Typical furry angst
General | Posted 11 years agoI have everything to look forward to. I am creating opportunities for myself, I'm working on a very promissing game, I have nothing to complain about... So why do I still feel like shit?
How to make a living making porn games?
General | Posted 12 years agoFor a while now, I've been trying to figure out a way to increase my adult game production output. To be more specific, I'd like to make that an actual employment. The problem of course is making money from the process, not only for me but also for an artist. Going full time on game production would enable me to add features like leaderboards and multiplayer, and having a permanent artist would ensure a steady flow of releases big and small.
If I would build a system like this, I'd like it to be complete. People would have input on what games are being made, as well as opportunities to appear in the games. I don't just want to make more games, I want them to be better and to have the community involved.
Those are the things I ponder. Anyone have an idea how to execute something like that financially? It would be a pretty big commitment indeed.

Would a sex "Guess who" be fun?
General | Posted 12 years agoI'm thinking about making a simple game based on Guess Who, but with sex cards instead. Players would both load the game and it would just manage cards, but they'd have to be chatting to make it work. Is this a game people would want to play?
No one cares about the facts, everyone wants to avoid drama
General | Posted 12 years agoI had a big text written, but instead here's the TLDR version: the whole Zaush situation makes me hate the FA administration and the furry community alike. I won't pronounce myself to who is to blame between Zaush and the girl, I don't have enough information. Moving to Weasyl is just going to move the problem, because the community and the mob mentality you all bring, that's what's making everything worst.
I'm not sad to see the witch hunters leave.

General | Posted 12 years agoI need beta testers for Hokinko Inn
General | Posted 12 years agoI decided to release Hokinko Inn in it's current form, as a final game. It's been almost two years since I've worked on it, but I know I can complete it with the assets I have. It won't be to the level I wish it were, some assets are a bit of a different style, but it's still a good quality game, good artists have worked on it and it's about time the public got to seeing it.
For those not in the know, Hokinko Inn is a Phoenix Wright type of game, with investigations, interrogations and deductions. You can play a demo of it in my gallery, at http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6504417/
So, since it's been a while, I'm going to have people beta test this to ensure things work well. I'm looking for three people total and will give priority to people I trust, meaning people who have already commented and helped out in one way or another for a previous game. I'm unlikely to consider people who have not done so.
polarthief, if you reply, you're a shoe in.
I need to prepare a few things, but I'll send a version over the weekend in the hopes of getting responses asap. The game should be about 30 mins for a normal playthrough.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Sometimes I get depressed by petty things
General | Posted 12 years agoI get depressed by a lot of things in life. I'd say that while it's never a positive sentiment, at least I can agree that many of those things actually matter, they're meaningful enough to warrant that kind of emotion. And then there are the petty, first world problems which demoralize me, and I just hate it. I should be better than that. I'm more jealous than I should be. I'm not in a position where I've earned to be jealous, quite the contrary.
