Where has the time gone?
Posted 2 months ago7 years since my last journal. A lot can happen in that time. And a lot can stay the same.
Nothing much to report.
I own a house as of 2019 (well, buying on a mortgage).
I lost my grandmother on Christmas Day 2022.
I have a full fursuit (a pumpkin spiced themed snow leopard named Spice).
I got into VRChat and have gotten my skills up enough that I was finally able to recreate my 'sona in the game to 99% accuracy.
I'm still just a dumb cat on the internet.
I have a sense of direction, and a goal to reach, now. Let's see if I can obtain it.

I guess there should be an update
Posted 7 years agoHard to believe it's been 3 years since my last journal post. Still feels like it wasn't that long ago.
Anyway, some good-ish news, I suppose. I'll be attending the Nashville Heroes and Villains Fan Fest happening May 12th and 13th. It will be my first con ever. Sadly I won't be suiting, but that will come eventually.
I will be in full cosplay, though. Character I will be portraying is Paul "Jesus" Monroe/Rovia from The Walking Dead.

In Memory of My Mother
Posted 11 years agoI don't really go online that much any more, so I have few places I can post things like this. So please disregard if not interested in reading a small emo-post.
On September 4th 2014, my mother passed away. I had just had the chance to visit her after my step-dad passed away in July. It was a stupidly long amount of years being kept away by "life" from visiting her. I had three days to spend with her then I was rushed home because I could not afford to miss any more work.
I knew that that was the last time I would ever see her alive, even though I promised her I'd go back to see her. Then I get "the call".
She died of congestive heart failure. It was sudden. I miss her. Always tell those you love that you love them, remind them daily, because there will come a day you won't be able to anymore.

Update Journal
Posted 11 years agoI want to take the time to thank all of you for watching me and getting to know me in some little way.
I've not been very active on here.. or anywhere else for that matter, for a long while. I changed up jobs little over a year ago and because of that, my net access during work changed. That was really about the only time I had to be able to keep and eye on things here and make comments and what not.
Over the course of that year, financial hardship has taken it's toll on me and I've been working almost non stop between two jobs at nearly 80 hours a week, which explains my unfinished projects posts. I hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for reading.

Furry-centric MMO in the works

Looks promising but they could use some help getting off the ground.

Been a while...
Posted 11 years agoSome of you might have wondered where I've been at.
I'll spare you the emo whininess and most of the details.
Back in may I got offered a new job, I took it, but they don't allow internet access so I've not been able to visit here recently.
Also not so recently, my hard drive failed on my pc and I hadn't had the funds to get another until a few weeks ago.
I still work two jobs so what little free time I have (and it is very little) is spent resting or screwing off in WoW.... and by screwing off I mean I pay $15 a month sub now just to hunt for "RP". Sad right?
Somewhere in the midst of all this, I started a downward spiral of self doubt even to the point of question why I was in the fandom if I can't even so much as participate in making positive comments on an art site for artists I like.
As you can see, I'm still here, so I haven't given in to doubt. You can take the furry out of the fandom, but you can't take the fandom out of the furry.
Life's still not any easier, though. I'm sorry to everyone here that watches/are friends with me for not letting you know sooner what's been going on.
Thank you for reading this if you did.

The Usage of the Word "Fox"
Posted 12 years ago(A -slight- parody of Dennis Leary's Usage of the word F**k)
Perhaps one of the most interesting words
In the English language today is the word fox
Out of all the English words that begin with the letter "f"
fox is the only word that is referred to as the "f"word
It's the one magical word
Just by it's sound can describe pain, pleasure, hate and love
fox, as most words in the English language, is derived for German
the word "fleckin" which means to strike
In English fox falls into many grammatical categories
As a transitive verb for instance
"John foxed Shirley."
As an intransitive verb
"Shirley foxes."
It's meanings not always sexual
It can be used as an adjective as in
"John's doing all the foxing work."
As an adverb
"Shirley talks too foxing much."
As an adverb enhancing an adjective
"Shirley is foxing beautiful!"
As a noun
"I don't give a fox!"
As a part of a word
"Abso-foxing-lutly!"
or
"In-foxing-credible!"
And as almost every word in the sentence
"fox the foxing foxers."
But you must realize that aren't too many words
With the versatility of fox
As in these examples describing situations such as
Fraud
"I got foxed at the used car lot."
Dismay
"Ah fox it!"
Trouble
"I guess I'm really foxed now."
Aggression
"Don't fox with me buddy"
Difficulty
"I don't understand this foxing question"
Inquiry
"Who the fox was that?"
Dissatisfaction
"I don't like what the fox is going on here."
Incompetence
"He's a fox off"
Dismissal
"What don't you go outside and play hide-and-go fox yourself?"
I'm sure you can think of many more examples
With all of these multipurpose applications
How can anyone be offended when you use the word?
We say use this unique, flexible word more often in your daily speech
It will identify the quality of your character immediately
Say it loudly and proudly!

Introducing: The Meh-tric scale
Posted 12 years agoSo, today someone asked me how I was. Instead of the same old boring response of "meh" because I'm feeling that way, I said
"I'm about a 3 on the meh-tric scale."
I've made a cheezburger lolcat for this http://cheezburger.com/6955491584
And if you wonder how the scale is measured, so you can relate to it if you want.

A Quote from Bruce Lee
Posted 13 years agoBecause his birthday was yesterday, I present to you a quote by the man, the myth, the legend. This quote (with a corresponding captioned picture) also explains why cats are awesome.
"...Be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." [one of many Sources -> http://vimeo.com/3191188 ]

A montage of Epic Proportions
Posted 13 years agoFirst off, it starts like heavy metal but stick with it because it quickly progresses in the medieval fanfare. The video is based around art, cinematics and actual game play footage of Guild Wars 2. If you even remotely enjoy fantasy styled anything, I suggest checking this out.

Paypal alternative

Seems pretty interesting and cheap for transactions. I've heard that a few artists are switching over to use that due to how paypal has been a thorn in their side recently. Pass it along.

Posted 15 years agohttp://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101121....._saving_tigers
This makes me very sad.
At the rate things are going, Tigers will be extinct in little under 12 years. Something drastic has to be done and I, for one, have great respect for President Putin for spearheading the operation to help save those majestic animals.
And I'm not talking one sub species like the red wolf. I'm talking species as a whole. Gone. With the only ones left in zoos and those too will disappear.
Please help spread the word.

Exotic Feline Rescue Center
Posted 15 years agoAs the title says.
If you have not heard of it and/or have never been to it, this place is just absolutely amazing. Think of it as a zoo for nothing but cats of the wild. They have approximately 200 cats of different species there. The majority of which are tigers, but that is only because that is one of the most sought after for illegal trading/owning of all wild cats. They give tours of the main area of the compound which takes around 1.5 hours to complete depending on several factors.
You can find out a little more at www.exoticfelinerescuecenter.org
They are a non-profit organization meaning everything there runs off of donations.
I just returned from the over night stay and because I did that special event, I got access to other parts of the compound most people do not see on the normal tour. To say it was awesome is to understate it, but there really are no words to describe the greatness of the whole experience. Watching them feed the cats was amazing too.
You really do not appreciate the size of the lions, lionesses, tigers, and tigresses until you see them up close and purrsonal. At this place, even on the main tour, you can get as close as 3 feet to most every cat there and sometimes it's even as close as arm's distance.
The sounds from these magnificent animals are simply astonishing. A lion or tiger's roar enough to vibrate your whole body. The friendly chuffs of tigers as they greet you or the keepers. The chirps and rumbles of the lynxes, bobcats and cougars are adorable.
I have taken lots of photos and at least 2 hours of video (in different length clips). They even have two feral house cats that have laid claim to the area as well.
Overall, it is a fantastic adventure going there and visiting with those beautiful creatures. What Joe (the owner) and the rest of the keepers have done for these animals is truly astounding and heartwarming. I highly recommend anyone going for the overnight, or if you cannot manage to gather the funds for that, the tour is well worth the $10 donation they ask. If any of you are relatively close to Centerpoint, IN and have not been yet, it might be a great place to set up a fur meet sometime for anyone close to that area.
I am also proud to announce that the Indy Fur Con will be sponsoring them as their Charitable Organization this year. Check out www.indyfurcon.com to learn more!
I will be posting some pictures of the felines here shortly. I get a lot of questions about "is that all the space they have?" when really, the pictures I have are of them up close in their sleeping area while the keepers clean out the roaming area.
