Survived another FC
General | Posted 14 years agoAm now mostly recovered from FC last week. FC 2012 was one of the best I've been to since I started going to the convention. I managed to snag some incredibly good art from my favorite artists, as well as getting introduced to some new ones who I'll certainly be returning to.
This is the first year I decided to try out some of the crazy parties that go on in the after-hours of FC.
kazen101 considers these parties to be "FC for me every year." Sadly we did not get raging drunk, this time anyway, but they were still fun, if a little crowded. I think the Klingons beat the Communists this year.
I also think Volleyball should be a furry meme. It was both funny and irritating to have to walk through the scores of Volleyball Moms to get back to my hotel, often times with adult material in hand. I can only imagine the awkward conversations between mingling parties. I only once heard a mom ask a con-goer what the convention was about. I'm curious what people's answers to that would be?
I'm a little bugged that we didn't get the WHOLE convention center, and virtually everything was in the Marriott. Think of how many artists we could bring in if we had been able to put the dealer's room in one of those big rooms where the Volleyball tournaments were taking place? Though I also recall a bunch of Volleyball players yelling out that they love furries to some passing fur-suiters, and it sounded genuine. Maybe there is hope?
Anyway, I've got a lot more commission scans to post. Still waiting on a few Okay's from the artists, but I'm pretty sure they'll eventually agree. I want everyone here to be able to see and enjoy the artwork these talented folks have produced. Also, if you want higher quality scans, note me and I'll email you my original, pre-sized-for-FA scans. They're all just under 4 megs at full size.
And again, if you're looking to commission more sweet art, please drop by kazen101 's page. He's still open, and he'll be uploading some sweet new examples of his work soon.

General | Posted 14 years agoOne of my closest friends, and one of the best artists I know, kazen101 , is looking for folks to commission him. He's also accepting commissions at a much lower rate than normal for a limited time, and he's willing to do particularly explicit adult pieces, something he doesn't often do. Combined with the fantastic digital color techniques he's been developing, you've got yourself a huge deal any anthro fan shouldn't miss out on.
I have commissioned him more than any other artist, as I enjoy his style and I trust him to get my characters right. Also because he's very reliable, getting his commissions done in a very reasonable time frame, but he never rushes. Here's some examples he's done for me in the past:

Kazen has another large commission from me that I've personally asked him to put on hiatus so he can accept more commissions from you guys out there to help give his finances a much-needed boost.
I've really wanted to get Kazen more popularity on FA than he has right now. He has a great animated yet realistic style that he is constantly improving with new experimental ideas. He's open to feedback and he won't get on your case for constructive criticism. He deserves a lot more recognition, not to mention commissions. Of course, like a lot of artists on this site he could really use the money.
So what are you waiting for? Go PM kazen101 with a commission idea! If you can't afford paying for a commission yet, you can do what I've done and mention him in your journal, spreading the word of Kazen's commission availability. Feel free to comment on his art pieces as well, let him know what you like and what you would like him to do more of.

kazen101 FA Lurkers Like Me
General | Posted 15 years agoLike a lot of folks I imagine, I created this account simply to view the art available in this vast bastion of anthro art, and to do so like a ghost, never acknowledging my presence. After my last trip to Further Confusion, I've decided to start being a little more active and taking advantage of FA's many ways of telling artists here that their art is awesome.
I'm also going to be uploading all the sketches/commissions artists have done for me, especially from FC. I'm not an artist myself, I couldn't draw a straight line if my life depended on it, so keep in mind none of the art I put on here was done by me, and throw something heavy at me if I forget to point out which artist did what on each submission.
Also going to be marking favorites and commenting. I tend to write long, detailed comments, so hopefully nobody will get offended by massive word tumors at the bottom of their art pieces. I also will try and point out areas of improvement if need be, though I always try to be as nice about it as humanly possible. Actual critiques is what I'm always worried will put a contract hit on me.
