Posted 12 years agoWhile there is a Gathering at McHenry Row this coming Friday (there are two Gatherings, actually, but the other is at a wine and cheese tasting), I was not going to post it so that it didn't conflict with the gaming meet ala Milt. Afterwards, the gathering will be taking a two-week hiatus, as indicated per their FB page:
We have hosted 17 Gatherings this year starting with the first one on February 23rd in Hampden. This Friday we are holding 2 on the same night and than (sic) we are taking a two week break until July 12th. If you haven't been to a Gathering this season join us this Friday, June 28th at either McHenry Row for a wine Tasting Gathering or at Station North @ Penn Station for a Funkadelic Gathering. Between the two events we will feature 27 Food Trucks including several that are new to the Gatherings. Watch out this page for more details and special promotions for this weeks events.
If there is enough interest at these weekly gatherings, however, I could make a surple page for them so that we know if there will be furs showing up and if anyone will be suiting, etc. I have had a few times where one or two furs came (to the same event, in fact), but didn't see any other furs, and were disappointed. If you are interested in seeing a surple page for this weekly event, please let me know.

For those of you not watching the news, there was a train derailment in Rosedale, MD, involving several train cars, several industrial buildings, and some unknown hazardous chemicals. The accident resulted in an explosion, and a continuing fire that created a massive cloud of smoke. Baltimore County officials are recommending avoidance of the 21237 zip code if at all possible. If you live in that zipcode, they are suggesting you stay indoors to avoid inhalation of the smoke and/or fumes. A section of State Route 40, as well as a section of Interstate 95 is being closed near the explosion to avoid further injury.
Despite all this, tonight's meet in White Marsh at Don Pablo's has been checked on, and the area is far enough to be safe and clear, so we're still on for tonight! Just be sure to take care and seek alternate routes if your usual transportation includes route 40 or Interstate 95, as they are closed in the Rosedale area. Interstate 695 is still open though! We hope you all can still come and have fun, but most importantly, Be Safe!!

Posted 12 years agoWe had a blast at The Gathering. The rain held off for the entire span. Security even let some furs park right inside the Gathering, but the rest of us found some parking spaces block or so away without too much trouble.

Afterward, we visited one of our favorite pizza pubs, The Dog Pub in Federal Hill! If you attended, why not tell some of our other Baltimore furs what your favorite part of the Dog was, or your favorite pizza or drink? If you remember from earlier posts, this is the pub that serves the salads in dog dishes, has the polite, barking waitstaff, and the food and drinks named after dog movies or breeds. Would you care for a spicy Baja Chihuahua or a Fox & the Hound pizza? Would you rather drink a Beagle or a White Dog?
First round of drinks was on us! Cheers!

From the North: Take 695 to 83 South Exit at 28th Street Make left at first light on to Sisson Street. Stay straight – Sisson Street turns into Keswick Road. Hampden Village Centre is at the corner of 34th Street and Keswick Road. Make a right into parking lot. Stable Building is behind main building, right off of the parking lot. Look for the flower pots! From Downtown: Take 83 North Exit at 28th Street Make left at first light on to Sisson Street. Stay straight – Sisson Street turns into Keswick Road. There is also a Reality Show possibly taking pictures and video of people having fun at The Gathering. If you would like to come dressed in a theme, is going to be wearing an apron and chef's hat, so have some fun and look like you're ready for some good eats!

I heard again from The Gathering in Baltimore. This time, they contacted me!
They said:
Hi [furries]! Are you planning on making our Keswick Castle Gathering on February 23rd? We'd love to see some costumes out there. Also, do you have a link to your costume making? We have vendor space open for this and other upcoming Gatherings...
I was surprised and actually at a loss as to what to say. I think they thought I was a business. I figured linking them to FA might not go over very well, so I instead linked them to Furthemore.
If you're not going to
's Furbowl, This would be a great, local alternative where fursuiting would be allowed, and you might be able to squeeze in some vendor space. At the last Gathering, I saw someone selling knitted hats and handmade jewelry. It should be cool enough to suit, still, as an added bonus.
