I fled from Russia to Georgia, because Georgia is a free country, and I really would like it to stay that way, BUT UH... what are those protests about? WELLLL......

"The foreign agent law (also locally referred to as "the Russian law". On February 2023, the ruling majority of the parliament registered a draft law, addressing a completely made-up problem of transparency of non-governmental organizations. The law refers to non-governmental organizations that receive funding from abroad as "foreign agents." In Georgian, "foreign agent" carries the same meaning as "spy." Back in 2023, we managed to fight back against the law that would completely destroy student exchange programs, charity work, LGBT and disability organizations, etc. The law would also allow the government to persecute you for something inconsequential, such as an anti-government post on social media. If the law passes, it would cause most of Georgia to be locked out of international relations and would demolish most of our scarce support systems.
Current international brands that support "russian law" are:
Wendy's, Subway, Dunkin' Donuts
Those are not all of the brands that support the Russian law here, however they are the international ones that through their owners in Georgia support the passing of the law.
Additionally, the government has paid people outside the regions to protest in support of passing of the law, and has threatened them with losses of their jobs and the jobs of their family members.
The protests have been going for many days endlessly, and policemen have been getting more and more brutal. Utilizing things such as water jets, armor, shields, flashlights, smoke, rubber bullets, gas, etc.
Please stay with Georgia and support it."

About the positives of our situation.

Georgia seems to be great so far. People don’t stare at me AT ALL, in Russia people always stared at me: besides piercings, I am visible queer, people assume I’m gay even before I tell them and also, since I’m trans - I’m short, like, 5’4 and I think because of that people see me as if they picked on me I won’t be able to fight back, which is true, besides staring, people used to just walk to me, and call me a f**ot and other mean stuff, had few instances of just base line threats, but, like, it doesn’t happen here at all!! People don’t care how I look! Even taxi drivers which 90% of the time are 40 something cis men, in Russia if they’d talk to me, it always started with "why do you look so weird" here they don’t even mention it! They ask ask where we from, and when we tell them the truth they reply with COMPASSION AND UNDERSTANDMENT! In Russia I know we’d face a very different treatment. People here wish us luck!
I also feel such a relief mentally, to talk about politics on the street, with no fear of judgement or persecution, and to see people AGREE with you. There’s tons of Ukrainian flags ! You don’t understand how wonderful it is to see people understand what is causally happening! It’s so fucking cool to say that you don’t support war and to see people agree with you and not yell at you!
Georgia is also a very beautiful country. Yes, some buildings look pretty poor and uncared a little, but it has lots of greens, there’s trees almost everywhere and streets seem very clean - in Russia, at least where we lived, it had, like few trees there and there and other stuff were concrete boring ass grey buildings.
Prices are all right too, the food in stores seem to be higher quality, I only remember meat products tasting this good only when I was a kid.
Also! Also! PEPSI. MY FUCKING GOD I LOVE PEPSI I MISSED IT SO MUCH WHEN I WAS IN RUSSIA. IT’S LIKE FINDING A LONG-GONE LOVER WHO MAKES YOUR GASTRITIS WORSE BUT YOUR HEART WARMER.
I want to resume my a tivist work when I feel a little bit more rested, in Russia I always felt overwhelmed, but here I feel like I finally can relax a little, and when I finally get enough sense of stability in my life I think I might volunteer somewhere a little. …or make my friend do that but myself get back to some other stuff. Idk.
It’s nice to feel like the government finally stopped breathing in your ear.

General | Posted 2 years agoOkay that was close. Anyway, good news guys! We rented an apartment and are no longer at the hotel! The rent is $550, four rooms and has pretty much everything we need. I will be continuing on with my work now!

I slept for three hours today.
Okay so quick rehearsal of a trip: we got to Turkey’s airport But we were denied entering our plane to Britain cause of the new law in Britain regarding visas. We thought about trying to apply there, but read that as for a queer asylum Turkey isn’t the best option to put it nicely, so we quickly bought a ticket to Georgia and that took us… basically all of our money except for like some little we have left that we converted to Georgia’s currency.
We got here planning to apply for an asylum, because that was literally only one option left and we’re NOT going back to Russia fuck no, but when we got to the department of immigration (and we had to take three taxis because we drove in the wrong place two times….) and they said that we COULD apply but we won’t get provided with a place to stay even though we thought we would. We went outta there feeling like shit, cause we literally have no money to rent something even for a month, and they can’t get us to the refugee camp cause it’s full.
We booked a hotel for a day, but that’s all. I really don’t want to sleep at the airport again. I am so so sorry. I feel really ashamed of myself for getting ourselfs in this situation, but I know that was literally the on;y thing we could’ve done at that moment. I really need some help right now, cause we literally out of any other option at this moment except for asking for help. Even getting just another day at the hotel will at least give us time to sleep it off and figure out our situation.
Ups: joined Facebook and found lots of rent groups there. The average price for a month is $500
UPD: 11pm Tbilisi time, I finally slept long enough to think clearly. Thank you for your donations. My partner got a SIM card and he’ll get his bank card in around three days, in the meanwhile we’ll be trying to find someone who’ll let us crush at their place at that time. Thank you so so much, because of we have enough money for a first month of a rent and that gives us some form of hope.

General | Posted 2 years agoSo we basically couldn’t get on the plane, due to the new law in Britain. We got to the Georgia now, we’ll be asking for an asylum there, but also will be trying to make new visas in the same time in case we get refused an asylum here.

Because of that, I downloaded all information about my ongoing commission work and still will be drawing everything I got payed to draw, but I will not be able to keep you up to date while I’ll be doing it.
Do not worry, as soon as I get to the nearest Wi-Fi I will make sure to tell you about that and also post another journal talking about how is everything going for me.
This will be one hell of a rollercoaster but I won’t make it lower my responsibilities to everyone I own.
Thank you again for making this possible for me and my family.

My partner afraid if we don't pay this loan while we in other country they can take he from us due court. But there also problem - we can't get any payment while we in other country due to rules for refugees. So we need to pay this loan with part of the money from the allowance, but we don't even know can we do this or not.
So we have one plan - collect money for few months loan payments. It will help a lot, 'cause we will have time to make new plan with new info, which we can't find being in Russia :D

General | Posted 2 years agoAbout documents - I don't know how, but my friend and I got our international passports, but his partner no due some shit that no one understand. Just delay. But he is waiting he's passport 2 months instead promised 1 month.
So right now we have 3\4 international passports.
About hormones - right now, no problem, 'cause we successfully bought 3 packages of Androgel last month. But we still don't know what to do about what we will do when run away. I think just take 2 packages and hoping.
About loan - I don't find any information about our situation, so it still a problem for us.
But I have one more idea, I will tell about it little later in another journal

20% Discount slots for illustrations, comics and YCHs.
One slot is not counted as the number of arts, but as the number of requests. For example - One person took 3 pages of a comic and thereby took up one discount slot, but another person took 1 illustration at the beginning of the month and a week later decided to take another one, thereby took up two discount slots.
Also! Discount slots are reset at the beginning of the month
So.. You can note me if you want to take discount slot :D
