I do appreciate that you think I'm interesting enough to watch. Though I will say that I do not really use FA much anymore. Only a month late
General | Posted 12 years agoI'm finally getting around to editing and uploading my photos from FC. I know, it's been almost a month now, but I've been busy. However since I spent most of my time running around in my new fursuit I didn't take hardly any photos. Anyway, what few I have will be up soon.
I think maybe I should add that what few photos I did take were mostly while I was in my fursuit. So, most of them suck to be honest. But, for not being able to see what I was doing, I think they came out okay haha

General | Posted 12 years agoIt's been like 2 months since I last signed into FA, partially because my computer died but also partially because I was bored with this site. Well, I figured I'd give it another try for now. So until I get all my shit cleaned up and upload some new photos and such, here's a nice TMI story for you to enjoy.
Today on a whim I decided to make a batch of Jello, because I'm a fucking adult. Anyway, while I was making it my roommate and I discussed making Jello shots, which lead us to reminiscing about our first time making them. We were young, dumb, sophomores in our new apartment, and we wanted to celebrate the new semester by making Jello shots. But there were problems. For starters, we didn't have those little shot cups, so we decided to use a mini-muffin tray instead. Second problem, we assumed you completely substituted vodka for water in the Jello. Turns out the pure vodka doesn't gel up like water does. So in the end we were left with 2 trays of mini-muffin pans filled with slightly viscous, cherry flavored vodka, not the solid Jello molds we had hoped for. Not wanting to let our alcohol go to waste (after all that would be alcohol abuse), we still decided to drink them. However, the only way we could get the jello out of the muffin pans was with a friggin turkey baster. So there we sat on a friday night, the 3 of us around the kitchen basting alcoholic cherry syrup out of a muffin pan into shot glasses. Oh memories. True story too.
Okay, maybe not TMI, but it was fun. Any TMI questions y'all have will be answered.

Further Confusion, looking for a room
General | Posted 12 years agoWell, it has officially been too long since I was last on FA. To my new watchers, I'm not very exciting, so I won't be hurt when you unwatch me for inactivity, but I welcome you regardless!
On to business.
Basically, I have been juggling the idea of going to FC2014 around for a while, and as it turns out I have the perfect opportunity to go. My class schedule worked out, and I don't have school on Monday the 20th for MLK day. And I can get a hella cheap flight to San Jose from Bozeman (cheap flights outta Montana don't usually happen like this). So in short, I want to make this work. Only thing holding me back from booking my flight and registering now is I am looking for a room. Con hotel is sold out, however there is still plenty of space in the Hilton next door, so if I can find two more people (already have 1 maybe lined out) then I will book a room. Otherwise, if anyone knows of someone with open room space in the con I would love to know. If you are worried about having some random dude in your room, I promise I'm not too weird. I'm a shep, you can trust me kinda.

Decisions, decisions...
General | Posted 12 years agoLast Spring I was presented with a great opportunity, a professor in my department was leading a short research trip to Antarctica and he wanted me to go. The original plan was to go the week before Christmas and spend the next 14 days on a research vessel off the Weddell Peninsula studying penguin colonies and monitoring the ice sheets. As an earth science major, everything about this sounds amazing aND OH YOUR GOD I WANT TO GO!!
But, I found out today that the dates got fucked and long story short if we go we will now be going March 16-29, which would mean I would have to miss FWA (as well as 2 weeks of school in the middle of the semester). Which now means I have to decide: do I go in March and miss FWA, or do I wait until December 2014 to go to the south pole?
There really is no decision here. I don't even know why I said all of this. If it works out, I am definitely going to Antarctica in March. I just wanted to say that there is a very high possibility that I will not be at FWA this year, which is a little disappointing because I really really miss all you guys that I met this year...

My class field trip has been rescheduled for Saturday the 28th, and since the field trip is mandatory for the class that means there is no way in hell I can go to Seattle that weekend. My only hope is that the alternate trip, for people like me with conflicting schedules, gets pushed back to the following weekend.
I have been planning this con since May, and here a week beforehand it all goes down in flames. I am without words.

Yellowstone was awesome this year as always, but I'm not gonna lie I did kinda miss being without internet, tv, and even my own kitchen for 3 1/2 months. I'm just getting settled back in to home and getting all my stuff unpacked and in order for school on Monday. I'll be back around soon-ish, and be looking for my Yellowstone photos!

Well while I am here I should say I am still alive, though I do not have access to FurAffinity while I am away for work (my company has blocked FA but not most porn sites, go figure) and seeing how I'm in Yellowstone and there is no other internet around for literally miles I guess I will have to deal with it. I mean can get on FA through my phone but it's slow as fuck and not really worth my time. I'm home for the weekend for now, but After tomorrow I go back to the park. Leaving so soon
General | Posted 12 years agoWell everyone, my last few days of school are winding down. I only have 2 more exams left between me and a summer full of awesome. This Saturday I start back at my old job working in Yellowstone national park for the summer. Words cannot begin to describe how excited I am! I mean my job sucks, don't get me wrong. But the location more than makes up for it. I have so many hikes and adventures planned I'm not sure when I am going to have time to sleep.
As I will be in a rather secluded area with limited internet access and with what little free time I will have between trips, I probably won't be online as much, or at least not on FA as much. My phone works in some places so I will still have Facebook and Twitter access, so if you want to keep in touch follow me on Twitter @mtsheppy or Cosmo Shepherd on Facebook. I'll try to keep in touch and post many photos when I can.
To all my local fur friends: I probably won't be around to many of the upcoming meets, but I will be around eventually. If not, then I'll for sure be back in September.
To any and all of my fur friends: I would like to formally invite anyone who will be visiting Yellowstone this summer to contact me if you would like a private tour guide to pal around the park with you and show you the coolest stuff the park has to offer. I won't be able to guarantee that I get all the time off, but on my days off I'd be happy to show off the sights.

FWA Wrapup
General | Posted 12 years agoSo yeah, FWA was my first furry convention ever, and all I have to say about it is HOLY SHIT SO MUCH FUN I WANT TO GO AGAIN LET'S GO RIGHT NOW! Despite it being hands down the absolute worst flying experience for me ever, it was sooooo worth it.
First I would just like to say I am grateful for the awesome people I met this past week. Between the partying in rooms and just simply hanging out and chatting on the street, there was never a dull moment. Seriously, you all helped make my first con something special that I'm sure I won't forget.
Secondly, I have a metric shit-ton of photos and videos to go through (roughly 30GB worth). With school and stuff this week, it probably won't be until this weekend that I can begin to go through them all. That being said, is it generally not okay to post photos of people out of suit with other fursuiters? I have a bunch of cute photos of people interacting with suiters and I'm not sure if generally it's frowned upon to put people's faces online. And thinking of photos, I guess I need to make a photobucket account or something, because there is no way in hell I want to take the time to upload all these photos to FA.
All in all, it was a great trip. It started off shitty with a misbooked flight which lead to an expensive last minute seat switch which lead me to a 17 hour day in the airport dumping me in Atlanta at o'dark-thirty at night Thursday morning. The whole weekend was filled with shenanigans, some cheeky, others booze fueled. It has blurred together into one long event, but I do remember things like: getting milkshakes at 3am at the Metro Cafe, waving at people stuck in traffic giving us weird looks, finding a condom in an elevator, having a dance party in another elevator with Broba Fett, sticking shit in the fans in the fursuit lounge, going to the observation deck with Mikepaws to photograph Jinx looking over the city and then hanging out in the revolving lounge to watch the sunset, and the drunk dancing at the dance parties. I could talk about this for days, the list goes on. I also learned a lot more about fursuits than I did before, and I finally got to wear a head. I totally want one now. I was going to save up for a new camera this summer, but I have a feeling that money is going to go into saving for at least a partial suit for next con, hopefully. I got to talk to a couple suit makers and I have a better idea of who I might want to commission. I also learned that next time I don't think I want to host the room. I'm not gonna talk about it, all I am going to say is things happened, stuff got broken, and it's pinned on me to pay to replace it (in which I'm hoping the hotel will give me a solid cost soon cuz waiting for it is killing me). Oh well, I lived, I learned. And then to top it all off, my flight home Monday night was canceled due to tornadic weather which shut down the entire Atlanta airport for a good hour or more. A bunch of us furs got together and got Airport Con going for a while until we went our separate ways to hang at our gate and pray our flights left soon. I ended up getting stranded in ATL with Grizztof and TJ for the night where we continued to party at Airport Con.
All in all, it was a total blast, well worth all the money and heartache it took to get me there. I'm already looking forward to my next con, which will probably be RainFurrest in September (maybe RMFC, doubtful though). I will end this before it gets even longer than it already is. Until then, I will get on working on my photos and should dump them here sometime this weekend.

General | Posted 12 years agoSorry, no time to post crap. Too much to see, not enough time to computer (also internet is $15 a day, so I'm hot-wiring it through my phone's data plan and it's very slow).
Long story short: Things are going awesomely. Literally, I am in awe of all the spectacular suits I have seen and the wonderful people that I have talked to who are in said suits. I have taken a crap ton of videos and photos, so hopefully I can spin together a little video once this is all done with.
I now understand the fun that is a prolonged weekend of furry partying. I wish this would never end. I have been stricken with con fever. But really though, if any of you who haven't made it to a con can make the trip, do it. It doesn't matter how expensive it is, how many people you know, or whatever. It is all so worth it. Every minute.

I have taken a crap ton of videos and photos, so hopefully I can spin together a little video once this is all done with.
I now understand the fun that is a prolonged weekend of furry partying. I wish this would never end. I have been stricken with con fever. But really though, if any of you who haven't made it to a con can make the trip, do it. It doesn't matter how expensive it is, how many people you know, or whatever. It is all so worth it. Every minute.

General | Posted 13 years agoSince I haven't really been online much since school started up, I figured I'd take a moment to update my friends on what's happening.
So first off, I'M GOING TO FWA MUTHA TRUCKAS!!! Sorry if I sounded overly excited, BECAUSE I REALLY FUCKING AM EXCITED. This marks my first Furcon that I will actually get to go to and it couldn't have come together more perfectly. I got my room booked with Grizztof and jinx_cole for sure, and maybe TJKross? I'm flying in to Atlanta and will be there Wednesday thru Monday so as to get as much of the con in as possible, go big or go home right? I have my flight booked, I'm pre-registered, hotel reserved, and I'm already plotting and making a list of things to pack. The only thing that would stop me from going now is if I were horribly injured or maimed (which given my skiing record is entirely possible) *knock on wood.* But even still if I were able to move on my own, at this point I would go to the con on crutches if I had to.
If anyone watching me is going to FWA as well, hit me up so we can do stuffs!

Oh yeah, also I really want to get a badge done for the con. Any artists in particular that you people would suggest? I really wanted to commission MaryMouse but she does not appear to be taking mail order commissions.
