Perhaps "SOLACE" might be eligible for some extended cuts too.

jaiko called "Solstice"!
Winter tends to be a pretty tough time of year for everyone, we wanted to reflect that in this collab, three different versions of the song are in the EP.

RIP Mark Merlino
General | Posted 2 years agoIf it weren't for him, The Prancing Skiltaire wouldn't exist.
I was 16 years old, this was where my life changed. It quickly became the one place I couldn't wait to come back to each month. I don't know where I'd be these days if it wasn't for finding this fandom, and even more so if I hadn't been told about The Prancing Skiltaire.
I only had a handful of conversations with Mark over the years, but he is the very reason why I believe I finally found a community where I belong.
The Prancing Skiltaire holds a lot of memories for those who've been.
It was his home where I'd come to celebrate a little bit of Christmas with everyone when the holidays were going on.
It was where I saw one of my best friends get married.
It was where I began going from just being a furry online, to being among others in the community.
It was where I'd start filming a great majority of my videos for The Raccoon's Den (and I'm forever grateful that they continuously let me do so for many occasions to come).
It was where I started the team I'd work on those very videos with.
RIP Mark, and thank you for laying the foundation of what we have before us today. <3

2023 Updates
General | Posted 3 years agoI'm not discontinuing my use on this website, I'm simply waiting till I have more finalized content to share, partial WIPs are no longer going to be part of that list.
I'll share music that I finish when the respective records are officially released.
I will still post new episodes of
TheRaccoonsDen as this series is not over and we have actually been in active production for the next season since 2018. The pandemic has affected production to an extent but we managed to find ways to work around it.
I recently started a new job in November '22 as a OS&D clerk for a logistics company. The pay is good, my weekends are freed up and a lot of things I've been putting off for a while are going to be put I'm motion in due time. I'm doing a lot better, been trying to not spoil too much about what I've been up to because everyone loves a surprise.
I got covid again somehow but like the first time, this was also a brief and fairly crummy experience. I've recovered since and I'm already back at work after a week of rest.

2021!! Hey there!
General | Posted 4 years agoIt's been a fat minute since I've hopped on here so I'll give you guys a quick little rundown...
2020
The pandemic hit just after I was finishing the 8th season of my series TheRaccoonsDen and as we were preparing to film the next, we had to stop and stay safe until the vaccine came into play and that was a particularly rough year for me. I had complications with my job after being furloughed, came back, then that job eventually started to not work out. I've been budgeting tightly since then and looking for work, though this has been complicated all on its own since my living situation had changed. I have actually left Garden Grove and don't live there anymore so you'll get to see a bit more on that in the future on The Raccoon's Den. Aside from video stuff, I've been trying to get back into music and little by little I'm making progress.
2021
I've had a lot change for myself and I don't feel like the same person I was for so many years, it's a great feeling, honestly. I've come to learn more about where I stand with most of my friends and have learned that its not important to please everyone but to make sure I'm keeping myself in check so I can keep growing. I've been embracing myself in ways I haven't felt confident enough to do before. My fiance
Phreak and I have been growing closer and closer to each other and that has made an incredible impact on me. Through him and my closest friends I've come to see that I am much more than my family ever thought of me. So much so that I've decided to discontinue being in touch with the majority of my family, my Aunt and my Cousins are the only ones I now speak to, I won't go into why the rest aren't considered.
I've been working with my group to bring more content to TRD, our last big thing was to present our 10th anniversary and finale of season 8, but we've been inactive on that FA for a while also. We just didn't know if the fandom was still paying attention and supporting us here as many users have, over the years, lost touch with using this site. Despite this the show is still in production for a 9th season and it's going to be BIG. Despite the pandemic affecting meets, we've worked around what we couldn't do and found new activities to embrace!
Lastly, I've released a new EP after several years hiatus, it's been a long time but I'm back at it!~ You can check out my latest EP "Sheinko (Pt. 1)" now through my FA submissions or support me directly through listening/downloading on BandCamp!

2019 UPDATE // Videos, Music, Life, etc.

I just recently made some time to check on my account here and fix things up so they're current.
Here's a few things I wanna share that have happened since I've been away. I'm starting with the relatively good news first.
1. VIDEOS
Today I've posted a few new submissions on here to showcase the comeback of my show TheRaccoonsDen
We're now in our eighth season, our partnership with Channel Frederator Network has ended and we are now with our new network, Teatime Productions. A few months back I started watching tutorials for After Effects and have been applying what I learned to what I currently produce, the experience brought my creative spark back.
In 2017, I participated in an impromptu horror short. I'm no longer involved in that project and what happened after the taping was that the director mentioned the scene had to be taped again due to some technical issues but it didn't happen. We weren't able to find a day to make it work. All I've found of it since was that it'd been featured (partially) in the director's reel. It's not really long, my arm shows up at 3:39 lol.

2. MUSIC
In 2016, the record label I was with had liquidated and it's been defunct since. (Some additional details on that here.) As of lately, I have been working on a few new tracks, looks like I uploaded a preview for one of those already. I'm gonna get around to sharing a few more soon, I promise. I've put off working on a new album because other priorities have come first. I've been talking with my associated acts and I have updates regarding each of them. Some of you may remember these names and may have wondered what happened.
SASHIM¥ (formally known as Daniel)
First and foremost, he no longer goes by Daniel, he now goes by SASHIM¥, his current releases are set to be re-released sometime in the future under this name and with new furry artwork (his fursona). His YouTube was accessed some time ago and the majority of his content has been removed (the vlogs on his FA have dead links), we found no clear reason how and I still have the originals. We've tried to get around to working on new music. As of recently, he doesn't attend furry events and hasn't been to one since January in 2016. He's gonna resurface on his own terms. In regards to his journal, he and I are on good terms (we just hung out a couple days ago), his write off from TRD in S7 was ultimately due to creative differences, but he will be making an appearance again on the show in the near future. ;)
Flash / Andre Abreo
He's holding up well, I hung out with him about a week ago and he is doing much better nowadays. As his last journal suggests, he's no longer homeless as of early 2017, has a new partner and he isn't very active in the fandom now. We're occasionally working on new music for him when we're able. He went to Tail a couple years ago and did a video there (on his page) but hasn't been to an event since.
We're hoping to form a new label soon so we can work as a team to distribute our work. A website has been built up, we're just waiting till we have the funding to make this take off. The reason for all of this info is because they're obviously not active on this site and haven't been for a while, some have asked me about them and we've all collectively been a bit quiet in general and sometimes life just gets that way.
3. LIFE
2016 was a hard year, the Fullerton Triple Murder Incident in September shook me up pretty bad, I lost a dear friend and I still miss her. I'll never forget that. Additionally, my grandma's health around this time was fair, but declined further and through 2017-2018 she was in hospice care and at one point suffered a stroke. Within another week, another occurred. Less than a week later, she passed away on August 25th, 2018.
I'm hoping to move within the next couple years (sooner would be better lol). Work has been tight so I've been sitting out on events because I just don't really have the means to, on top of being busy with projects that already keep me at my computer.
On a positive note, I've come to learn a lot about myself, I've reflected on decisions made in the past, people I've surrounded myself with and the way I perceive myself and the world in which I live in. I've made progress in being proactive to take responsibility for my actions, I'm getting better at being a good listener for others and at communicating better with others to help avoid any issues from arising, I know I've been quiet around a lot of you who've been trying to reach out and I apologize, it's not fair to you guys and it's not gonna be like that anymore. I'm more aware now and while I know there are some bridges I have burned in the past, I am not letting that hold me back anymore from moving forward and being more mindful so that I can be my best self for others.
I've learned from my doctor that I have bi-polar disorder, I've had a strong feeling that I had this throughout my life and about two years ago my doctor showed me on my file that I had been diagnosed but I never had it actually brought to my attention by my family.
Two days ago I hit my 4th year mark with my partnerPhreak, he's made such a huge difference in my life and has been a big part of my personal growth, he's helped me in so many ways and we have built a strong relationship together through our hardships, he's really helped me learn to trust again and we're gonna celebrate our Anniversary on Tuesday at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
Work wise, I've figured out what I'm good at and what I'm not, worked through a handful of staffing agencies to build experience on my resume. I've been working several different types of jobs revolving around Data Entry, Document Analysis, Transcribing, Payroll Assistance and Administrative tasks. I'm still on my search to find a company that's a good fit for me..
That's all I got for now, I'm happy to be more active in the fandom again, I've missed being part of this community and I hope all of you are doing well. Also I'm not doing FC in 2020. Laters~

10th year of being in the Furry Fandom.
General | Posted 9 years agoTen years ago today I joined the community, I didn't know how involved I would get at the time, but the Furry Fandom has become a fairly large aspect of my life. Nearly all aspects of my work are hosted through it, most of my friends come from here and I've been able to find a place to belong after failing to find it elsewhere.
I wouldn't say I'm proud of this really, but I'm not disgusted by it, I am after all marking this as a milestone. To everyone who's made a positive impact on me, to those who've supported me and my work and to those who've been there for me when things weren't going well, you guys have my biggest thanks.

"The Raccoon's Den" finally got its first article!!!
General | Posted 9 years agoSo in case some of you haven't seen it yet, my web series (The Raccoon's Den) got its first article published by DOGPATCH PRESS yesterday, it features an interview with me regarding the concept of the series, its history, plans for its future and a bit more. Interview stuff aside, they really got where we were coming from when they wrote about it and I think you guys might like it too!

General | Posted 9 years agoSo for the past six years, I've been doing my videos on all of the fur meets and conventions I've been going to, but there was something I didn't share, the reason why I was doing these videos.
I kept it to myself for a long time because of the way I've seen others being treated for doing this, the way they were talked about in the fandom and from noticing how furries would be so hesitant to say anything around them and just avoid them.
I am a I guess I could consider myself a documentarian but I've been using my videos as a way to keep a history of my time in the furry fandom. I started doing my videos in general to help myself break out of my social anxiety and try to put myself out there, I wanted to be more than shy and to stop thinking about it and just do it. When I started going to The Prancing Skiltaire in 2010, it was my first furmeet and I brought my camera to record what was going on, I was fascinated by a lot of what I saw, I felt comfortable there and when I decided to keep track of my adventures in the fandom, I was doing it to show people that the reality of what goes on in the community isn't as bad as some sources would argue it out to be. Everyone knew I was filming for the fandom and, when I asked around about things, everyone was honest and open and while I've had to learn how to improve who I am and what I want to, I thought it was better to be honest than to sugarcoat everything.
I'm sorry I kept this from everyone for so long, but I'm just tired of the way things have been going over the past few years. I really care about this community and while I may not always act like it, I'm not interested in profiting off this community, I could care less if I became popular from my videos, my goals were always personal and I've achieved being able to bring myself out of my shell, I've helped a few see the fandom in a better light and I only hope that my content could be half as helpful for the rest of this community that has helped me in so many ways since '06. I am not ashamed to be associated with the fandom, my friends and family are cool with it and I am here to create and contribute. I also achieved pushing myself out of just thinking about what I want to do and have gone out to do it. Now that I've proved to myself that I can do what I set my mind to, I've only got more to learn and discover about myself. Not having a fursuit doesn't make me or anyone else in this fandom any less important than others who do. Whatever you came here for, whatever this fandom does for you, we're all part of the same growing community.
The outside media has done a poor job at making sense of the fandom and because of that I was unsure if I would be socially accepted by any of you, I tell my story more through my videos than I do in writing, I wouldn't want anyone to think I'm using my footage to make the community look bad, its not my intention but I do take responsibility for any content I have made in the past that had included any portion that was insensitive, offensive and hurtful. It also helps that knowing the majority of drama and stress in my time here is usually sourced from the same individuals so I honestly don't even know why I let myself trip on complete strangers.
In other news, if anyone saw the last video on "The Raccoon's Den" you may have noticed that World of Furries and Channel Frederator Network were credited as being associated with the series, this is actually very recent and the brief story behind that is World of Furries liked our material and wanted to help distribute our episodes on their page, so every week for a while now they would share our old and new episodes, we're the first series to be distributed by them and we couldn't be more thankful. As for Channel Frederator Network, they came to us and offered us partnership, initially I was confused and asked why us since there were many other furries on YouTube with a higher subscriber count, they said our content was "irreverent, funny, and frankly a perfect fit", also noting that they learned more about the social aspect of the fandom than from other creators who just walked around in their fursuits, apparently they were looking for something more unique and educational at the same time. Knowing we're not the only furries on their network (most of them are animators), we took up the offer and now, thanks to them, we have access to a huge community of creators who carry a lot of advice and ideas with them, a database of royalty free music and sound effects for us to use in our series and they offer to help with distribution of our uploads through their social media. It was almost like this was the sign that our own approach to furry media was finally paying off. It makes the whole process of producing our work a lot easier and if our content is well received by the fandom, we could keep the show going for much longer than we anticipated.

General | Posted 10 years agoI had been told this evening that 
, known in the fandom for his drawings and music, has passed away.
Though I have yet to see a news story on this tragedy to confirm what I hope is not true, I have also yet to see him clear any confusion.
I will have to believe this is in fact true based on how many people are talking about it.
He will be missed, for the short amount of time I got to know him, he offered me advice, became a friendly face I'd always enjoy seeing and would continue to work hard in his career. I'm not happy about this, but has done so much in the community, his work will never be forgotten and those who are true fans of his will always hold a special place for him in their hearts.
You will be missed Jasen, thank you for your talents, your kindness and your contribution to society.
