MFF'15 Recap.
General | Posted 10 years agoSo, this year was my first time going across the country for a furcon, and I have to say, Chicago was an interesting place. I didn't get to see much of it, but things didn't seem to different from how they are back home (other than the weather). I had been told to go to Midwest FurFest if I had the chance for about a year now, I didn't have the means to make it before, but this year I did so I took a chance on that. The trip was, at the very least, interesting.
The Rundown...
So 
and I went to Chicago together, our flight was at 6am so we hung out at 9pm the previous evening and just stayed up until we had to leave. He was one of my roommates at the con. The trip was long, but we endured it fairly well. Upon arriving to the Afton hotel, I met up with 
and later 
while there. Was fun being able to meet them, hope to do it again soon and have a longer chat with them. Another first was meeting 
and 
, Stripes has been a long-time friend of mine and we have always talked about hanging out in person but up until now we were too far away from each other. I hope to be able to hang out with him again soon. As for Cocobanana, he gave me a CD filled with a variety of songs (which is what I'm listening to as I'm writing this journal), we didn't get to hang out for too long but it was fun getting to meet him and talk for a while. I hope to see him again too so we can hang more and get food like I had originally wanted to (the con got very busy for me).
The con was starting to get into full swing, by then the roommates and I had transfered over to the Hilton since it was much closer (it was worth the extra expense), I went to see just about everything I could within the freetime I had to myself. I got to experience (which is an understatement) deep dish pizza, for three days. It was essentially the only thing I ate and I'm not sorry. I got drunk off my ass a bit, which was great too. My friend Caleb introduced me to 
, whom has similar interests as far as video stuff goes so we hit it off pretty well! I also got to see 
as well as 
, whom haven't seen in a while so we ate together and caught up on things (his room was also where my drinking began and from there on I just ran all over the place drunk). I met a few new people there as well, their names I don't quite remember because at the very least we exchanged FA names and such so those were really quick chats. I fangirled a bit when I saw 
at the con, as I usually do, then I met 
for the first time and I was able to talk with him for a bit so that was a treat as well. Also can't forget 
, got to hang out with her and 
!
I got to experience being scanned for one of those models as well (the kind where the machine can print just about anything into a figurine), did that twice and was absolutely amazed at how far technology has come, I looked like a GTA character from the PS2 era (unfortunately I didn't get the figurines printed, the experience alone was amazing). I also was able to meet 
and 
(though I'm convinced he was plastered, which made the experience of meeting him quite hilarious). I also got to hang out with 
for a while which I wish I could do more, he and I have become good friends since we met and its hard to find raccoons to be friends with oddly enough. I need more people to add to the brotherhood here! XD
The Ending...
I got a bit of work done during the con, but unfortunately things took a bit of a turn towards south. One of my roommates was instigated into a scuffle one night early into the con and on the night before we left, someone I will no longer be associating with straight up harassed and assaulted him during the dance on Saturday. Apparently it's too much to ask for a decent last night at the con without some brat having to spoil the fun due to their insecurities. Despite the setbacks, the convention proved to be an interesting experience, most of it was actually quite positive. But I did miss quite a few of my friends back here in California. The flight home was at 1pm, unfortunately we were unable to move to a later flight, but it was alright. I think I might come back next year, it's a possibility! I did like it in Chicago, the weather may have been different from what I'm used to, but the con space was so huge, being there felt amazing.
Aftermath...
As of right now, I'm back home, still kinda unpacking from my trip, getting ready for this weekend, got a bit of a date with a certain otter to look forward to and on top of this I got FC to look forward to. I will be there next year, so if you guys are going, I hope to see you there. It'll be a great way to kick off the new year! Until then, if I met you at the con and I haven't hit you up yet (we exchanged contact info) please hit me up so we can chat! To anyone I forgot to mention in the journal, I deeply apologize, some usernames I can't remember off the top of my head (or find).

CALIFUR 2015 SUMMARY
General | Posted 10 years agoYou'll see 50% of my trip in the video I'll be uploading tomorrow.
The other 50%... I got to see Megan Tibbits perform again at the hotel on day 0 (she was amazing!), followed by some hotel food that was actually pretty good (lol 
I still have the beer sitting on my desk), my room got there the next morning, got to enjoy the ESG party in 1718, hung out and had discussions with a few new peeps. Had time to socialize outside of the party as well, which was rather refreshing. Had fun at Walmart with 
doing the vines and such. I later walked in on a friend having a seizure, ate a milano, and got supporting assurance from the staff that my panel would not turn out like it did last year (they really helped!).
Day 2 was spent recording enough footage to really bring out the essence of the con, then the rest of the evening kinda went a different direction, but at least now 
and I have a new inside joke regarding NES games and tape. I also saw 
for a bit and was very happy to see him, shame I wasn't able to get him in on the video.
Day 3 was the day of my panel, which went much better than I had expected, despite my keyboard dying which left me slightly changing the concept of my panel (thanks to everyone who came!), the rest of the day was mostly spent hanging with , told off a creeper fur who needed a reality check, watched some awards ceremony on TV with the roommates back at the hotel, and closed my episode shortly before another medical emergency occured which was quite intense but at the same time a bit surreal to me (due to already being drunk).
The following day continued on as if nothing had happened, which I guess was for the best, I managed to find a way home, and invited two of my roommates to come over and hang for a bit, and cooked them up some french toast to make sure they'd be awake enough for their ride home back to the bay area. I had already been unpacked by then, so that was pretty much the end of my trip.
It was an eventful weekend, but the fun I was able to have being around friends, the fun times with my roommates and taking in what I would later learn to be the last year of Califur in Irvine made up for any problems that could have surfaced. This is also where I decided to end the current season of , and I'll have another post regarding that later, but for now I'm tired, but I'm also relieved that I will now have more time on my hands.

General | Posted 10 years agoI had a pretty good time, I decided not to film as much as I usually do so I could socialize more and meet new people, which I did so that worked out pretty well. I decided that if I do end up filming at Califur, which, most likely I will, then it will be kinda like what I'm gonna do for this video. I didn't want to make another 15~ minute con video because I'm starting to burn out on doing , so you guys will see what I mean when I'm done with this one.
But anyways, the con was fun, had time to kinda relax and check out some stuff, hung out with
and a few others, including the new peeps whos FA I have yet to get >.>
My music panel went pretty well, thanks to everyone who came, I'll be doing another at Califur for those who couldn't make it at BLFC, more details on that to come. Special thanks to

Additionally, today is the day "Over the Hedge" was released nine years ago, the movie that got me into the furry fandom, hard to believe it's been that long!
Coming out a bit more..
General | Posted 10 years agoOver the course of my life I had wondered if I was born in the wrong body, feeling like I'm trapped in a cage, obligated to look a certain way or else I'll face
disapproval from those I would consider close to me. Even though a majority of my friends are seemingly very accepting and supportive of most
general concerns in this generation, I still seem to get the weird reactions from those whom I tell my darker secrets to, one of them being that I am transgender.
At times when I had shared this with others in the past it was always a gamble, would I be accepted? Would it just be sexualized? Would I be targeted for bullying even more?
Through these recurring thoughts that have crossed through my mind all my life, I've faced discrimination in middle school for opening up about it, and while it was only a few times,
I've recently begun to experience discrimination again, and it feels terrible. I can't help but feel a bit confused, looking for answers but
to find no results. I'm too nervous to ask anyone in fear I would lose someones respect, or be seen as a "freak". It's a big part of the reason why I've continued to portray Bandit as a male in my videos and other media.
Until I can find a way to work this into the videos, Bandit as a character is left displayed as a male, but it does not mean that's what I personally identify as.
I'm finally coming to terms with who I am, and for the few of you whom I've told who've only shown support towards me, I give you my sincerest thanks.
Up until recently I've realized that I'm not entirely alone, I have a few friends who are also transgender, and while I prefer to keep this
kind of thing to myself (I grew up with a more conservative mindset and lifestyle),
