People I Got To Draw Peter Puppy Part 3
Posted 14 years agoWoohoo, time for fresh list ^^
For an explanation, see the beginning of the list here. And be advised that while every Peter drawn for me is clean, these artists may also draw adult art.
Last Updated: February 1st, 2017
matugi (Gifty request). Matugi may kick part 3 of the list of with this awesome drawing. He asked for requests, I asked for Peter, he drew this. Good stuff. I'm sure Jim would love for Peter to have these boots.
cth (Stream sketch commission). Yes, Peter is a brony too! Of course he is! Its obvious, right? RIIIGHT!!? Right!
astolpho (I forgot... donation thing?) A very nifty drawing on a piece of unusual paper. Arrived by mail. Great stuff, thanks astolpho ^^
hologram (Commission.) Love how Desert Flower turned out. And of course Peter is still a brony ^^
kipper (Commission.) Don't know if Kipper is going to upload this to his FA. Regardless, love how it turned out. And that ant eater... He is so awesome. I'm going to make him an OC, of sorts. Expect to see him more in future commissions. He just needs a name.... And a Fez. He would look awesome with a Fez.
c0nnerc00n (Commission.) I have no idea when I commissioned this, but apparently it was a while ago. Its taken over 3 years, but I finally got Peter to propose to Desert Flower it seems. Love Peter's expression there (and of course she says yes).
(Quiz thingy.) Peter Puppy duck. Sure, why not? I got a quiz question right so this guy drew me a Peter Puppy Duck. Good deal if you ask me.
T-Kay (Commission.) I can't believe I forgot to add this to The List. Sorry T-Kay. I blame ponies. Anyway, Baree teaching Peter how to play chess. I absolutely adore how this came out :) I also really like to see Baree drawn in T-Kay's style.
So, small list so far, but Rome wasn't build in a day. Anyone who draws me a clean! Peter Puppy pic wins a million brownie points and makes the list. Just to be sure, don't take this thing to seriously, please. I just like the guy, and for some reason it amuses me to do this. Also, consider this a massive thank you to everyone on the list :).

People I Got To Draw Peter Puppy Part 2

Last updated: February 1st, 2017
marcleonhardt (Commission). Peter fighting a giant burrito? I don't know. And 2, Peter walking Dog the turtle from Taz-Mania.
keravist (Blind commission). I provided the characters, Keravist did everything else. Size difference is interesting, I always imagined Baree as half a head till maybe a head taller then Peter. Wouldn't find him in the jungle normally either. But, I do love the result :) Kinda rectifies the fact I asked for Desert Flower for a free pic earlier, thought he had already drawn Peter for me. And of course, its the second pic of my lemur and Peter together.
test-tube-baby (Commission). Peter looks rather confident here, doesn't he?
stitchfan (Commission). This file is huge! Peter and my little lemur fishing. The fish was actually a surprise, but it fits, doesn't it? Awesome stuff.
nanook123 (Commission). Three sketch commissions. My little lemur, Peter Puppy, and my favourite ursine couple, Booboo and Snulu. Last one is my fave out of the bunch.
marymouse (Commission). Comic commission. I provided the word (haggis) and character, Marymouse came up with the pose. Why do I torture poor Peter so?
roareyraccoon (Ustream sketch). Suggested this to roary and he was kind enough to draw it. Ah shucks, thats ok Peter. I love yourself too. And we have a 2nd sketch commission. Peter and Desert Flower taking shelter from a storm... Poor Desert Flower, she is terrified. And yes, Booboo and Snulu were drawn for me too.
uini (Ustream sketch commission). Nice idea, Peter rocking it out. Turned out pretty durn good, thanks Uini :)
quickwing (Gift art). I think I can call it gift art. Perhaps a certain amount of request..iness? in it as well. Either way, many kudos and a lot of thanks to Quickwing who drew it for me :) I rather like the coloured eyes contrasting with the black & white of the rest of the picture. But poor Peter, he doesn't look happy.
allaze-eroler (Sketch commission). Can you guess which pet Peter just got? Can you? Huh?
kkitty23 Sketch commission 1 and 2. Especially the first one is adorable ^^
mutteocleafurry (Suggestion) Mutteo asked for suggestions. Should be obvious what I suggested, and to my surprise it got picked ^^ Thanks ever so much :)
TTA-fan-1995 (Other) TTA-fan and I had a brief conversation about Peter, and soon after he drew this and told me I could upload it to my gallery. I decided to add him to The List instead. Great stuff TTA, and always good to see another fan :)
shortwings (Suggestion) shortwings was kind enough to take requests during a stream. I don't think Peter is happy about me suggesting him though. Thanks a bundles shortwings :)
FreezingIceKirby (Gift art) Awesome eh? Kirby was kind enough to draw Peter for me ^^ Bit of a surprise, but very welcome :) Many thanks.
illimearu (Commission) Quite pleased with how this came out. You know that feeling you get when you try to impress your girlfriend with your awesome tipi building skills, but they fall rather short? Poor Peter. Well,. I'm sure Desert Flower wants a dog who makes her laugh. And a second commission, just as cute. She obviously did like a dog who could make her laugh.
yuchidayena (Commission) Fun commission drawn by YuchiDaYena <3
chetchaka (Suggestion) Suggested during a stream, and kindly drawn by Chetchaka. Peter being a tourist. I love how carefree he looks.
Fourpanelhero (on DA). Sketch commission. Another very carefree Peter ^^
Wolfblade on IB (be aware, artist link will lead to his page which features mostly adult art). Of course, the Peter he drew for me is clean, and cute as ever ^^ Stream sketch commission.
monkeycheese (Commission). Based on the idea of Spunky being an O.W.C.A. agent. I am sure that if Peter was one in his "normal" dog days, he is of even more interest to the Agency since his transformation. Don't ask me what the machine does, not a clue. This will probably see some changes, but for now, enjoy.
MysteryPerson1 A nice person drew this for me, but prefers not to be linked to. The "I'm With Slimy" shirt proves popular ^^ Awesome drawing, thanks ^^
beezle (Commission). Rather cute, wouldn't you say? Peter's expression really works.
See the continuation of the list here.

Toons and nostalgia
Posted 15 years agoAh man, when I saw
roareyraccoon's journal I absolutely had to make one too ^^ Of course, people like the same stuff. So yeah, you will see a lot of familiar stuff if you saw his journal already. Nevertheless, stuff I will leave out and still I will add. Lets start with the obvious one:
Its Peter! What more do you need? Well, an absolutely hilarious cartoon with great and bizarre characters, brilliant quotes and references and good old classic superb voice acting you say? You got it!
Oh man, this is one little unknown gem! Sadly, as a Dutch production it didn't get that much exposure. It did become somewhat of a success in the UK I believe, and there are several American VHS tapes. Nevertheless, very few people will know this one, which is a shame. It was just a really cute little cartoon. And the songs, there really where some great songs!
Roary mentioned this, and so will I. One of the best intro's ever, great characters, very fun episodes... Its just an awesome cartoon, that was cut off way to quickly.
Some people hate it, some people love it. Roary loves it, and so do I. This is one of my favourite animated shows of all time. I love the characters, I love the storylines which go from whimsy to serious. Most of the characters in the show have a good or bad side, and Cyril... Man, I love Cyril. I suppose he is meant to be the bad guy, but he is more of an anti-villain, really. He has such great depth, and this only increases as the show goes on. Truly a gem in my opinion.
Its Animaniacs. Its awesome. Nuff said.
I heard the English intro and thought "forget that". You will have to do with the Dutch intro, its much better :P And man, was this one awesome cartoon. The way it tackled rather hefty subjects for children was brilliantly done. Death, WWII, nazizism, racism, corruption and dictators, 3rd world countries etc etc. No subject was to heavy and there was very little sugar coating. This show believed that kids where able to handle serious subjects without toning them down. Animation was decent, voice acting was... Well, ok, sub-par. Still, love it, love it, love it.
David the Gnome. English intro is acceptable here. And another show that didn't feel they needed to "dumb down" too much for kids. Very environmental oriented, but man, they made it work. This is definitely no Captain Planet, thank goodness. The sequel series is considered by many to be vastly inferior. I personally really liked that too.
I loved this show as a kid. Another very catchy intro, with great lyrics. And just very funny.
This is a show that doesn't get mentioned a lot, but man, is it awesome ^^ The intro isn't the best ever, but the show itself is just hilarious. There isn't a single character I don't love. Squishy Bears deserve special mention, but by far he coolest character in the show is Sharky the Sharkdog. One of the coolest characters in animation, period.
Ah, Mad Jack the Pirate... Truly somewhat of an oddity. But insanely funny. Lovely dry, somewhat British humour. And yes, Blackadder fans should recognize a name in the credits ^^
Another show I only really know in Dutch, but I loved it as a kid. Funny characters, great voice acting, love the Dutch intro. Just a pretty light-hearted cartoon.
Jep, also a toon I only know in Dutch. But, dinosaurs! And man, is that intro song catchy ^^ Very much a kids cartoon. Still, I found it a lot of fun to watch.
This has to be one of the cutest cartoons ever made. The intro song is epic, and I can not listen to it without feeling very happy. What's not to like?
An Hungarian production (Vizipók-Csodapók), I mainly remember this for the Dutch intro. I actually don't recall that much of the show itself, though I do know I watched it a lot as a kid. But that intro song is still stuck in my head :p
The Animals of Farthing Wood... Where do you even begin? Truly one of the masterpieces in animation, especially the first two seasons (mostly in the storytelling). The role this show (and the books its based on) has/have played in my life is quite substantial. I don't want to give away too much, but if you like animation do check it out. I can not even begin to describe how much I love this show.
Did I watch me a lot of Seabert as a kid... Sorry for the Dutch, but once more, that's how I watched it so that's where the nostalgia lies for me. And that cry... I will never ever forget that cry.
Not a clue if there is an English opening on YouTube, so Dutch once more. Another very environmental oriented show. But I loved it as a kid. In hindsight, animation isn't the best ever. Still, love to watch it even now ^^
Oh my word, that intro... <3. Love Babar. Love it.
Again, catchy intro, isn't it? Though Dutch version is better imo. Not by that much though. Another very light-hearted children cartoon that I watched tons as a kid.
Somewhat newer then some of the other entries, but I love this show. Intro is great, and I just have to love the "family episodes" with Taz. This show cracks me up :P
Ok, I suppose I should quit now. Shows that deserve a honourable mention, but that didn't make the list because I discovered them later and they are therefore not nostalgic: Dogtanian and the Muskehounds, Capitol Critters, Road Rovers, Franklin....

Fan-art artists: Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse
Posted 15 years agoOk, I am all for fan-art. Its great. So yeah, it saddens me when I see ignored characters. One of the main drives I have for the Peter Puppy List is to give him more exposure, hoping other artists are reminded of the character and draw him on their own accord.
So, I had the idea of periodically mentioning ignored characters. Lets start with Morty and Ferdie Fieldmouse. For those who don't know, they are cousins of Mickey Mouse. As can be expected, they don't get in trouble as often as Donald's nephews. And of course, like Donald's nephews, they are identical twins. They seem a bit more mellow. They have been around since about 1932, so it is not like they are new or anything. Now, I am far from an expert on these two, but I fondly remember them from the Donald Duck magazine. And boy, are they ignored. A search on FA yields 0 results, and on DA I was able to find a massive two pieces of fan-art! This is unacceptable FA! I mean, I don't think these are that obscure characters. They appeared quite often in the magazine. Any Morty and Ferdie fans out there?

Animalympics DVD
Posted 15 years agoI love Animalympics. I do. Its classic animation, its fun, it has some very nice characters and, what really makes the movie for me, it has some great songs. There are some songs that are just really fun, and there is one song I personally think is an absolute gem. Maybe two, but one of them really blows me away.
Anyway, as a cartoon nut, I have waited for a long time for it to appear on DVD. Someone pointed out to me recently it has. Back in 2007 even. Not sure how I missed that, but somehow I did. It was released in Germany, features both the English and German voicetrack and well... I just had to buy it right away. It arrived today. And... Its one of the most original, delicate and beautiful DVD covers/boxes I have ever seen. On the one hand it looks as if it could have been made by someone with some decent skills in photoshopping or something, on the other hand, the whole thing just works. And it goes beyond simple photoshopping. It is made of cardboard or something. The artwork is amazing, within the limitations of the 1979 movie. The front cover shows two of the main characters on a absolutely stunning background. There is a nice edge around the cover piece. If you open it up, you are treated to the DVD, another nice piece of artwork and most importantly, a booklet. Take out the booklet, and the first thing you notice is another nice piece of artwork behind it.
The booklet itself is very simple, but of a delicate beauty just like the rest of the DVD. The first two pages show the same pieces of artwork as on the DVD. There is also information about the movie, though this is in German. The rest of the pages consists of screenshots from the movie, more information about the movie (still in German) and various lyrics of some of the songs in English. At the back of the booklet is a collection of (I assume) all the characters from the movie.
The DVD itself comes with standard extras (nothing to buy the DVD for as far as I am concerned), plus an interview with Steven Lisberger, the director. Nice bonus.
The case itself is pretty thin. About as thick as a comic album I'd say. If you like this movie, get this DVD. If you collect classic animation, get this DVD. If you just like cartoons but you don't know this movie, give it a looksie. Chances are you will like it, and if you do, get this DVD. Of course its a PAL (European) release, so if you are in the States make sure you have a region free DVD player.
I don't think I have been this excited about a DVD cover/box since the Animaniacs box sets <3. Seriously folks, this one is special.

People I Got to Draw Peter Puppy
Posted 15 years agoYes, a goal in my life! Get everyone on earth (or at least every artist on FA and DA) to draw Peter Puppy at least once! So here's a list of people who have drawn him for me. Either as a commission, suggestion, or even as a wonderful gift. Why do I do this? Because Peter Puppy is awesome and it gives me something to do. What can I say? I'm easily amused. Also, be advised, every picture of Peter is clean, but that doesn't mean the artists draw only clean art.
So, the list:
Last updated: February 1st, 2017
ishoka (Suggestion (thanks!) and multiple commissions: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
furnut5158 (Sketch Commission). I wasn't sure what Peter should do, so I just said he should fly a kite.)
TheGreatOwl (Suggestion.). Thanks :))
twapa (On DA). (Suggestion. Thanks :))
moonbeamcat (Surprise gift ^_^ The first one on FA I ever got. Thanks a bundles :))
top_dog (Suggestion). Thanks :) Guy has a great style. Very toony.) And a Sketch commission.
swiftcutter (Suggestion). Thanks :). Again, love this guy's style, Peter looks awfully cute.)
yoka_neko (Sketch commission). Adorable.
weaselgrease (Suggestion. Thanks ^^!!) Weasel was even nice enough to colour it. Yes, I like the cute, but I'll gladly take the awesome too. Seriously, Peter looks totally bad-ass.)
shin0r0z (Sketch commission. Peter looks great, but wow... Look at Desert Flower).
Zen_Fetcher (Request). Thanks a mucho :). Now I can't help but wonder what a transformed Peter would do with a baseball bat.
termeneko (Commission). I really like how this turned out ^^
5010 (Sketch commission). Cute. No, really. Feels like I should say more, but it is.
Kayla-Na (Sketch commission). Also cute.
Kuraggo (Commission). My lemur and Peter in one pic... Had to happen sooner or later. I love the characters and the background is great too.
xpfoddball (Kiriban prize). Second pic in which Peter meets my lemur. In space? Don't ask, I don't know either. There were two people who got the Kiriban and I was second, but oddball was nice enough to draw two pics. Thanks a bundles, love it :)
rippl3r (Request/suggestion). Don't know if this was a request or a suggestion. Thin line anyway. Rippl3r offered the first person to post a reference a free sketch, obviously I was first. And boy, isn't this one of the cutest Peter's you have seen? Thanks a lot :)
thorn (Suggestion). I think Thorn will curse me forever for asking this. But, she did draw him, and I love it. She actually drew him three times, but the first two times I afraid are lost forever. Erasers, dangerous things. Even digital ones. Sorry to make you go through that Thorn, but thanks a bundles for persisting :)
nishi (Free sketch). Nishi drew this for me for a free sketch MeMe. I should offer free sketches now I suppose, but Nishi said everyone could join, even people who can't draw. And I can't draw. Thanks a bundles Nishi :)
LiliFox (Request). Drawn for me by Lilifox aka Babs during a livestream. As cute and great as shew drew Peter, and as thankful as I am that she did, and as awesome it is that she even coloured him, and that Peter has a tan, the stream itself was the best part. Hilarity was had by all.
WhiteRoo (Suggestion). WhiteRoo asked for inspiring ideas. I suggested Peter in a clownsuit. Not sure how inspiring that actually was, but he did draw this sketch for me. Thanks a lot WhiteRoo :)

nishi (Free sketch).
Thanks a lot WhiteRoo :)See the continuation of the list here.
Rest in peace Chanel
Posted 16 years agoAfter being cut off for two weeks from any contact with my family, I got back to read an email from my parents telling me that our Border Collie Chanel had to be put to sleep after they found a large tumour in her uterus. I feel like everything sucks right now, and sucks bad. I'm from the Netherlands, and currently I'm in the Philippines for an internship. It feels like I'm a million miles from home. My whole family is grieving, but I can't help but feel jealous of my parents and brother and sister for being able to stay with her until the end and say goodbye. She was one of my best friends for the past 12,5 years, and I really, really wish I could have said goodbye as well. I remember telling her that she still had to be there when I got back (around the second half of March next year), I guess I had a hunch. I feel I'm cut off from everyone and I don't really have someone to share my grief with. Everyone is halfway across the world away from me. I don't really know anyone on FA that well, and I don't have many watchers, but talking about this in whatever way possible seems to help a little bit. I'm doing something I have always dreamt of doing, working with a project trying to save a critically endangered species, and until this morning I was loving every minute of it. Right now, the thought that she won't be there to greet me when I go back takes all the joy out of everything. I thank you for 12,5 amazing years of friendship and many great memories Chanel, and I hope you are at peace now. Wherever you are.
Random thoughts episode one: Peter Puppy and D&D
Posted 16 years agoSo yeah, since I've recently been kinda obsessed with Peter Puppy I've been thinking, and had the following train of thought. In this fandom you see a lot of people with a crush on one specific character. Now, I don't have a crush on Peter. In fact, I've never had a crush on anyone. I don't exactly have a wish or something for him to be real. I just enjoy watching Earthworm Jim, and Peter's personality really speaks to me. But what if he were real? Well, then I would probably enjoy hanging out with him. Now, since I'm a bit of a geek, hanging out with friends for me means playing videogames (LAN-parties), playing boardgames, playing poker, playing D&D. Maybe watch the occasional movie, but that's about it. Then I tried to imagine what playing a D&D session with Peter would be like. I can't help but feel he would be absolutely bored to death. I mean, we are talking about a dog here who was anthropomorphesized by an evil cat bend on destroying the universe. He transforms into a giant monster whenever he is scared or hurt. His best friend is a giant talking earthworm in a supersuit. They have to deal with killer goldfish, talking crows, and a professor with a monkey on his head (or a monkey with a professor on his head) almost on a daily basis. There are talking snowglobes, furry trouts, eggbeaters and whatnot. His life is weirder then any D&D session I have ever played.
Guess it would have to be poker.
