FEDEX SUCKS!
General | Posted 14 years agoOn june 16th I have bought a Spandex Zentain suit that I plan to wear under my fursuit, as fur backing on skin isn't quite comfortable and normal clothes are just too damn hotm. Any fursuiter out there can probably relate to that.
The suit had to come from the Middle East, send over by Fedex on July 20th. So far, so good.
Here comes the quirky part. Last year, a large part of the apartment blocks on my street got levelled for urban renewal. The street that was next to them got torn up as well. My building had still the street name but that was gonna change soon as well.
Couple of months ago our local government decided to remove the old streetname and place a new sign, however, IT DOESN'T GET OFFICIAL UNTIL NEXT YEAR.
So, July 22th, in comes Fedex. The adress the package had to go to was my new adress that Fedex doesn't know, so it gets shipped back to the centre and stays on hold. Bummer.
I send a message to the seller with my old adress. At July 29th Fedex searches for the end of the old street. Behold: the street ends before they reach my number. So my number doesn't exist. The package gets shipped back to the centre and stays on hold. Grr.
So, I send the seller another adress where they can drop the package, at a friends house. Fedex searches... and can't find it. "Incorrect address - Apartment/Suite number". AAAAH!
Why in the name of FUCK can they not find ANY adresses here?!? I bet they can not direct a dildo to their asses without a GPS, and even then it would be shipped BACK to their facility because it wouldn't have the correct adress on it!
My only hope now is to drive towards them and retrieve my suit myself. But that is NOT how an international distributor should handle things!

Birthday song, very long
General | Posted 14 years agoYes, today is my birthday. I've turned 34.
This is my birthday song, it isn't very long...

What does it take...
General | Posted 14 years ago... to move a cookie from one place to another? Around 10 people and a lot of effort.Yes, I volunteered to help, yes I had a good time helping, yes, I feel like I've been run over by a f*cking TRAIN.
All things considered, I'd do it again, but next time I'll take an Barney sized airmatress and sleepingbag with me.
Try sleeping on a plank under a thin blanket in a cold house... My bad, I should have asked if I had to take my sleepingstuff with me.

Keesje needs a haircut, part 2
General | Posted 14 years agoRight. Well, today a friend came by to hold the little rascal in place while I cut her hair. Yes, I still have a lot to learn about grooming. The good news is though that I removed enough long hair to build a whole new guineapig.
Needless to say Keesje at first wasn't very happy, then relaxed a but only to turn cranky at the end. At least most of the bad smell is gone.
Guineapig 0 - Barney 1.

Keesje needs a haircut, part 1
General | Posted 14 years agoYes, the longhaired guineapig desperately needs a haircut. I've tried it by myself tonight, but I really need a couple of hands more to keep the little rascal in place while I let the trimmer do its work. I'm pretty sure the smell that comes from her coat triggers my heavy cough attacks as well.
She'll be done by the end of the week though, so...

Sleep
General | Posted 14 years agoWell I finally managed to get 5 hours of solid sleep last night... or better said this morning. Went to bed around 3 and woke up past 8. Not bad, considering the past few days it was impossible for me to sleep even a couple of hours without eiter floating out of my bed of coughing up a lung.
Coughing goes better too. Odd as it sounds that's good, that way I get the crud out my lungs faster. Still might take a while though.

24 hours without internet or TV...
General | Posted 14 years ago... would you be able to survive that? My internet supplier had a major issue and my whole neighbourhood apparently went down. And this was a big one, as I didn't get a tv-signal either.
So my question to you: if you can't get online AND your tv doesn't work, how do you cope with it and what do you do?

General | Posted 14 years agoMy voice...
General | Posted 14 years ago...it's...gone! Plus I'm coughing hard enough to make tears burst out of my eyes... WTF is wrong with me. Good news is, I get to see the doctor at 15:00 today. I'll keep you posted.
Edit: We'll, the doctor told me I have a throat inflammation, what I already kinda feared. Plenty of aspirins and plenty of rest should do the trick.
Gramps called before I went to the doctor, he didn't even recognised my voice... "What did you say your name was?" Erf...

Still sick
General | Posted 14 years agoWell it looks like my cold is gone but something else is troubling me. I have this nasty dry cough. It also feels like something is squeezing my throat closed. Tomorrow I'm gonna call my doctor, I getting sick and tired of this (no pun intended).
This weekend
General | Posted 14 years agoIt looks like I have more time to recover from my common cold. The person I was supposed to go out with had something urgent coming in between all of a sudden. Nothing too serious, just a bit more... time consuming. Anyways, this leaves me with more time to recover, but I hope I will still see her soon, as I badly miss her. To be continued...
Common cold
General | Posted 14 years agoErf. I've got something so common there's still no cure against it. The common cold. Sore throat, runny nose, the works. And just as I've planned a weekend out of the country too. Bad planning from the disease department there.
I'll have to stack up on aspirins as I'm running out quickly now. If I'm not better by friday I'll have to postpone the weekend and I'm NOT happy about that thought... Better wish me luck.
Snrrf. I need an aspirin.

My life sucks at times...

Good news!
General | Posted 14 years agoToday I got a phonecall from the company that I had a job interview last week that I've got the job! Contract will be signed on Friday, work starts Monday!
I won't be able to view the Funday Pawpet Show live anymore, but at least I've got a job! Woohoo!

wine
General | Posted 14 years agothe was this line saying "there is no gravity, the world sucks". I'll make it "the more wine I drink, the more the world sukcs". why does my body get heavier the more I drink???
Good news, finally!
General | Posted 15 years agoYessss! I've adopted TWO new guineapigs! They are ADORABLE! YAY!
Sad news
General | Posted 15 years agoThis morning, during a routine spaying operation, my pet has passed away. 4 years old, my little guineapig couldn't cope with the operation and stopped breathing. The vet tried to get her to breathe again but failed.
R.I.P. my dear Huppie, you're being missed.
Edit: I've been to the vet to have one more moment with my little critter. The vet also showed me what she removed out of the belly (on my request). Turned out my pet had ceveral cysts in her belly and a kidney problem. She will be cremated soon, the ashes will stay with me in an urn.

Final update on gramps
General | Posted 15 years agoI finally found out what is wrong with my grandpa. This is what's wrong: 2 leaking heartvalves, 3 coronary arteries that are in very bad shape, arteries that are in very bad shape and a heart that's in very bad shape. The surgeon said, and I quote:
"IF we operate you, we have to replace the valves first. If you survive that operation, you have to stay in the Intesive Care Unit a very long time. And then, if we operate on you again, you have a big chance you won't pull through."
So gramps said "I think it's best if I go back where I came from then" and the surgeon agreed, with pain in his heart.
And replacing his heart isn't an option either because 1. gramps' arteries are in very bad condition and 2. he's too old (83).
Only thing that can be done from now on is enjoying the time he's still with us. He has 16 pills to take per day to keep his bloodpressure as low as humanly possible. Big side-effect is that he gets very cold. But at least he's still alive.
Oh, and you'll NEVER get him even CLOSE to a retirement home. Gramps is very clear in that "I'll die in my own home."

Not so good news
General | Posted 15 years agoI got a phonecall this afternoon, my grandfather will not get his operation. It's a very difficult on and the risks are too high according to the doctors. So he will be getting back home again. I don't know what will happen next.
Update on gramps
General | Posted 15 years agoI've been to gramps today. He was looking better, was even up and walking (to the toilet and back). He told me that he'll be operated next week, he'll get a by-pass. He didn't say how many, but two coronary arteries are clogged and the third is half-way, so I guess it's gonna be a tripple by-pass. Doctors say he has a 95% chance of surviving the operation.
I'm not kidding: he is nervous and so am I.

Sick
General | Posted 15 years agoIt started two days ago with a mild pain in my throat and half my nose clogged. Yesterday my throat was hurting to the point I lost my voice. Last night I had a severe fever waking me up every hour sweating my butt off. Now... I'm having muscle aches all over, I've raised the room temperature to 22 degrees C, I'm wearing a jumper, a bathrobe and I've got a hot-water bottle against my stomach and I'm STILL shivering like crazy.
I think I have the flu and I think coming night is gonna be like Doom: Hell on Earth. At least in my bed... *shudders*.
Tomorrow I'm gonna callmy doctor and ask him if he can come over. Shit, my hands are cramped...

Grandpa so far
General | Posted 15 years agoI've found a good way measuring how gramps is recovering is by how he gives me a hand. In the hospital it was like a child was trying to squeeze my hand, but now I can feel him getting stronger. He's not there yet, but he's getting better slowly.
Update on my grandfather
General | Posted 15 years agoWell, I've been to the hospital yesterday and today and today he looked a lot better. Yesterday the heart monitor had been removed, today they decided that, if it continues to go the way it goes now, he'll be released by Wednesday.
Some bad news
General | Posted 15 years agoToday I got a phonecall from the neighbour of my grandfather. He has been hospitalised because he's had a heart attack. This happened in the night of thursday to friday. I've just visited him, he's doing well, he's being monitored and his color is good. He does look like he's tumbled down a flight of stairs, but the bruises came from all the needles and IV's the nurses used on him.
Anyway, from now on I'm gonna visit him every day.

A polite question to y'all
General | Posted 15 years agoThis has nothing to do with the fandom but about being sick (as in flu or common cold, not mentally).
My question is this: can someone talk himself into believing he's sick? And can that trigger random sneezes and cause him to cough up a lung now and then? 'Cause I 've been sneezing since last friday and sometimes I cough up a lung, yet my boss says I talk myself into being sick. He did send my home though.
This is really confusing for me and I'd like to see others opinions about this.
