Needing help - may sell some... jackals...
Posted 4 years agoYeah you read that right. Things aren't great during season 2 of 2020.
To get people up to speed; well look at my previous journals. TL;DR I might have thyroid cancer so trying to rule that out by new tests and a second opinion from another endocrinologist. First one seemed a bit of a quack and kept trying to focus on my diabetes rather than my thyroid; which was the reason for me even seeing her. Kept bouncing back and forth of saying "well could be this; so take meds to help your diabetes... oh and I guess we can put you on some thyroid meds" without even looking to see that the meds she prescribed interacted with my heart medication... smh
ANYWAYS; finances are still rough while we are getting things sorted. Tried selling some characters, but seems no one is interested in B or C characters in my gallery so looks like I need to pull out some A level stars... (really REALLY didn't want to do that). They won't come cheap by any means cause they are both part of my prized "Baron Family"; so most likely will do an auction and will start at $250 each with no AB. Still mulling the idea over and seeing what's the best way to do it as YCH Commishes didn't do well for me last time.

Life just keeps getting “better” - possible cancer
Posted 4 years agoSo for some time now I’ve had some issues in my neck spanning back to about the time of my mother’s passing. At the time I kept shrugging it off as I thought it was a pulled muscle and just didn’t have the time to stop to check nor did I want to as I didn’t want more worse news.
Speed up to this week and finally decided to get an ultrasound done. Whelp they found something in my thyroid that’s a solid mass. Could be benign or cancerous... just great right? Lost my mother to cancer and now I could have it as well.
TL;DR: could have cancer; could not. Getting more tests done, but either way I am beyond scared out of my mind to the point it might be best to lock me up during the process. I have a “support” team of sorts, but my mind just isn’t in the right place.
May do an update to this at some point asking for help financially cause my wife will need to take time off AGAIN to take care of me and run me to doctor appointments

New Year - New Journal
Posted 4 years agoHey everyone! Figured I'd give a bit of an update
So most of the stuff that was left in my mother's estate has been transferred to me; just waiting on some more higher legality shit to get passed and then I can finally move forward on the smaller details.
That said; got a bit of good news! I officially "own" our apartment. I say "own" as technically we rent it, but it is in my name now. So we atleast have a roof over our heads. Food stamps have been approved as well so we have that covered too. I filed for SSI and Disability (not SSDI as that required work creds which I didn't have enough of); so that's just pissin about waiting for approval etc.
Other than that; we are still hurting financially as we are dealing with all the legal paperwork fees and in limbo until SSI kicks in; for now my wife's father is helping us, but can only do so much you know? SO I am selling some of my characters to help cover what extra costs I can as well as asking for donations still through Go Fund Me & Paypal.
If you all are interested; please go look at what ones I have for sale or even ask about other unused characters as I might be willing to sell those too!

Sorry to update you all like this on Thanksgiving
Her vitals are still strong, but it’s only a matter of time now. She is off of oxygen (wasn’t doing anything cause she kept sleeping with her mouth open) and is now being placed on a continuous morphine drip. So those who have seen this stage knows what is next.

Second to Last Journal
Posted 5 years agoWell guess it's time to start wrapping things up... This will be one of the last updates we give.
After the last update; her seizures began to be more constant and she was then transported to an area that is comparable to one stage under ICU. To give her constant care and attention. During this time she was put in almost a medically induced coma of sorts; what I mean by this is that she doesn't handle pain meds too well and it knocks her into a near coma like state with her sleeping for hours on end.
So after four days of constant sleep almost, with catatonic states in-between, she finally woke up. During this time the seizures were still going on, but started to lessen compared to what they were. Though she was very scrambled and slow speaking almost as if it was a stroke, but luckily it wasn't.
Speed up to the last two days; she is still disoriented and confused, but least knows who we are. Tests keep coming in and reveal I was right all along; that the cancer has returned with a vengeance. So much so that they feel radiation will do nothing for her nor would new rounds of chemo. so we are now looking at comfort management and try to make her final days as good as possible...
Yes you heard correctly; she only has days now. That is how bad this cancer has come back. The brain has more cancer in it that it first did when she was first diagnosed months ago. The doctors are unsure why this is happening, but it is what it is. I am just needing to accept that her death is imminent and that I can't do anything about it except make her comfortable.
Once it happens; I will make a final update on here and keep the donations open for a little while (like a month or two) and then just it down. Again I thank everyone during this time of need and wish you all the best.

One of the last journals for a while
Posted 5 years agoSo just a heads up... this probably will be one of my last journals I'll make for some time
To update everyone:
My mother was about to start radiation for her head to help get rid of the few tumors left. She tolerated the chemo very well as well and her body reacted in the right way to remove a good amount of it...
This past Monday she was to start radiation, but started not feeling well. Thought it was a respiratory infection, but ended up her lung collapsed again. Thursday night she ended up having a severe muscle spasm/jerk that lead into her having 2 seizures in the ER. The seizures most likely are from the remaining tumors in the brain...
Today her spasms, as they persisted, has slowed down some. Believing those spasms are from a new med she started taking to help prepare her brain for radiation and to protect it. The drawback is that apparently last night she got very agitated and confused to the point she didn't know where she was and thought she was back home in Kentucky. This was the "1 minute to midnight" alarm I had been dreading. They keep saying they "think" it's from the steroid they were giving her, but I know how she is better than they do and am sure it's the beginning of the end. Will it actually be? I have no idea, but my gut hasn't been wrong before...
Either way; Christmas, let alone Thanksgiving, may not even happen and I might be gone for a long while if what I fear will take place comes true

Thinking about selling some characters
Posted 5 years agoBeen thinking on it for a while now. I’ve got some characters that I rarely use and some I’ve never used. Figured could make some money and purchase new characters that I’d actually would get some more enjoyment out of. Least gives me something to do and focus on during my time of mental instability with all that is going on.
SO that said; feel free to go through all of my gallery and comment on this journal if you like something and wouldn’t mind buying it. Will give it some consideration and see; otherwise gonna start cherry picking certain old images and go from there! Prices will be determined based on how many pieces of art they come with and how much I paid for said images. I’ll work with ya so not going to bloat the price up XD

Update on Cancer treatment
Posted 5 years agoHey everyone! Sorry it's been a bit. Just been trying to stay the course with nothing really to report on until now.
So just got the MRI results back from a recent scan. Brain tumors are looking much better and we've got under 4 of them compared to the 52+ from when it was first scanned. Definitely much better news in that regard. Sadly though she still needs radiation therapy which has a whole host of problems to now deal with. Needless to say we still definitely need help financially.
All donations to our GoFundMe have stopped and that hurts cause we've started running into issues trying to afford food from time to time let alone meds, gas for travel, and other things. We are so thankful though for all those who have spread the word and have helped in the past: especially the few YCH fundraisers as those helped out immensely! Those funds were able to pay for needed things including some car repairs as we hit a snag with our car (still having issues, but least it's road worthy right now. Need new tires however, but that's a problem for another day XD), major bills that were behind, and even rent. The only problem now is that we've not really been able to put anything back for the funeral expenses that the GoFundMe was originally for, but life loves throwing things at you when you are down so nothing we could have done about that.
Anyways please continue to spread the word; much appreciated and can't thank you all enough!

New Cancer & Life Update

Not much has changed really. Mom has her second round of chemo today through Friday. Today is another long 5 hour round with the next two days being about 1-2 hours.
Last week she had a bout of colitis that was induced from the chemo; was in the hospital for two days. Besides that she’s had more energy than she’s had in months which is great. Prognosis is still the same, but could be longer as the chemo oncologist feels she is responding well. Though we are going to continue to feel she has a few months to a year so that we can keep pushing to get all the things done as we need to.
We still need help btw. Donations have stopped and with needing a special diet, the appointments, and medications let alone car maintenance is now needed (including new tires); we desperately need more to chip in!

Cancer Update - My World Just Ended As I Know It
Posted 5 years agoPut it simply; my mother’s cancer is worst case scenario. She has small cell stage 4 lung cancer. Average life expectancy is a year; could be more or less depending on how well she takes to the chemo and radiation.

Nothing new really to report. Still doing testing and waiting. Still waking up crying into the unknown while we sit in darkness wondering how bad things really are and what, if anything, can be done.
That said; we've had to do some of the hard talks including life insurance, funeral costs, etc. During which we found out my mother doesn't have a life insurance policy... the gifts keep on giving don't they?
Whelp I just made a GoFundMe so we can start saving up; which will be a hell of a lot as minimum funeral expenses here are like $50,000 and that is being optimistic about that number.

Life Update: Darkest Times
Posted 5 years agoSo been avoiding writing this; mainly as I’ve been sitting and waiting for test results, but also because I’ve been hoping that I didn’t have to... that it was all a lie or some kind of nightmare.
It all started two weeks ago. My mother has some chronic issues and we were going in to see about a pulled muscle from her constant coughing; hell I’ve done it before too. So an X-ray was taken and showed her lung wasn’t inflating due to not taking a deep enough breath; said it was pretty common with COPD patients and that we’d keep an eye on it.
A week later we go back in to check to see how things look; another simple X-ray. This time it showed part of her right lung had collapsed. Unsure why; the doctor then tells us to go get a CT Scan the next day figuring it was probably a “bleb” they called. Blebs are when a piece of the membrane of the lung “pops” of sorts; considering the constant cough it was thought to be uncommon for it to happen, but not out of the question. We were not expecting what was next...
So that same day; the doctor tells us to come back to her office; the results were not what we were looking for... it was a 1cm mass on her lung pressing down on it... prognosis was that it was lung cancer and that the results showed it had already spread... making this officially Stage 4.
Now with a few other tests out of the way; we get the MRI results and it shows it’s also spread to her brain. The take away is that it’s there, but treatable; so long as her body can hold up... Either way we are looking at a few months to under 3 years...
I have no fucking clue of what to do or how to feel. Every day I am waking up in tears yet feeling numb. Each day is only getting worse. She was in denial about it all, but now it’s starting to hit which is making it worse. She is stubborn and strong willed for sure; a trait much appreciated with all of this as that might just get her through this... however at the end of the day; I won’t have my mother for much longer. She’s only 65 and it’s eating me alive. All the things I still wanted to do or show her; now rendered impossible...
These really are dark times for all of us...

Baron slight revamp idea
Posted 5 years agoSo I am thinking about doing a little revamp to his design; nothing major!
The idea is to give a scar and blind eye look to his right eye (a reflection of my poor vision IRL to my right eye). The eye wouldn’t literally be blind; however it would be an augmented contact lens to give the appearance of it so in artwork he can be blind in one eye or not. The scar however would be permanent.

Posted 6 years agoHey! So I am debating on doing the whole “Patreon as a tip jar” thing. I know a lot of you really want to see more artwork gotten from me and well finances are utter shit. So would be a win-win. The idea would be for lower tiers to just be a simple tip jar while higher ones would offer the ability to put in suggestions for content, be included in said content, etc (with rewards increasing along the way). This would of course open up any of my characters to be used, but within reason to their personalities; so for instance NO FUCKING BARON IN THE ASS XD

Calling All Pokemon Artists!~
Posted 6 years agoSo I am looking to find a pokemon artist who is open right now that can handle female versions of Blaziken, Delphox, and Zoroark.
Had an artist who was working on a project for me and after a period of time ended up needing to refund me. So I want to reboot this said project for my friends and myself.

Life gets better and better...
Posted 6 years agoSo I just got home with my mother from seeing her lung specialist and still trying to process all of it...
Basically she is slowly dying and is currently in denial about it all. The doctor said she is only using 38% of her lungs and is in end stage COPD. If she stops smoking she is likely to get 30% more functionality making it go to 68% which is great, but that's only if she finally puts forth the willpower to do it... which isn't likely due to how much of a stubborn mule she is. The doctor went on to say that we are at the point that normally we'd be looking at doing some kind of lung transplant if this keeps up...
Either way; I am full of emotions right now... hate... sadness... anger... the whole nine yards of it all. I will still try to push her and support her of course, but it's to the point that anything I've done to do so has always fell on deft ears and makes me wonder why if I should.... heh I told my wife weeks ago with how she was acting that I'd give her 10 years tops if she doesn't do anything soon, but now I fear it's within 5...

So I am expanding my "presence" so to speak into other websites such as Makerfur and YCH Commissions to help get my wares out there.
That said; does anyone know of any other seller sites that would work for crafts such as what I have to offer? I am looking into Etsy for sure and definitely do not want to work with Furbuy after having a nice conversation with them (tl;dr they were very unprofessional and you can tell they are only wanting to fill their pockets instead of caring about their clients & customers).

New Update on Wife's Health
Posted 7 years agoWe got some promising news today during our consult with the Oncologist. They are 90% sure it’s a Grade 1 Stage 1A with a survival rate of 90%+.
The current treatment will be an IUD we put in place anyways as it was to help with her irregular months; which is one of the early signs that she could have had endometrial cancer starting.... we now have plenty of time on our hands in the way of "well you aren't dying tomorrow" but we are looking at sooner rather than later of having a hysterectomy needing to be done.
She will be getting a gene test for possible historical signs of other cancers that show up as a mutated strain with an MRI being done to see the cancer cells and how deep they go.
Sadly there is no chance to save her eggs thanks to her insurance not covering something like that, but we may be able to keep her ovaries to let us save up for something later on; with the downside of only have a year or two to do this -- all depending on what the MRI shows and how well the IUD combats the cancer. So we are looking at a better prognosis than we expected; though recovery for something like this will still be four weeks and that's four weeks of pay we won't have. Again; we are being told that this needs to be done sooner rather than later... meaning we need to start planning now and move forward with this within the coming months.
We still encourage for anyone to donate when and where able; or at the least please spread the word. While people do; she will be donating her own way by promoting Cancer Awareness and donating when I can to the American Cancer Society.

That said, for those who don’t know what is going on, my previous journal will explain it all.
This journal, under her advisement, is to focus on it a bit more in the way of that we had some concerns moving forward; specifically finances and how to tackle them if/when she is laid up for some time with surgery as she is the breadwinner while I care for my disabled mother.
Mind you this is not a cry out for money or anything as we are getting by, but we do have a GoFundMe set up in order to create an “umbrella” account so that it’s something we can use to deal with whatever financial issues arise within the coming weeks with her time off from work. For clarification; this is NOT a “please we need money!” cry for help situation. It is only to help ease her mind so that we have some kind of backup plan in place. All we ask is to spread the word. If we get anything then so be it; if we don’t? That’s fine too. Just a preemptive measure.
