So... ya... I've been tired of the odd combination of numbers and such in my name... and more people know me as Lisky or Slut Puppy than Basilisk anyways... so ya... I feel like it's time for a good and proper move.

Setting up my new "shop" at  Lisky


 Lisky is where you'll find me from now on! Will keep this one up for a little while, check in from time to time... but ya... :B Everyone already knows me as Lisky, might as well make it permanent and proper!

First up... these are some awesome people i've met, and all of them are truly fantastic and deserving of far more attention then they're already getting. If nothing else, you should check them out if you haven't done so already! I know times are tough, and some people are having it rougher than others. As most of you know, i tend to try and be a bit more direct with helping friends when i can... but i've already stretched myself a bit thin for the next few months... soo i'm doing the next best thing.  Caltroplay Has been having issues with some botched dentistry. Her tooth has slowly been getting worse, and she's been in a lot of pain. It slowly coming to the point where she needs the money to get her issue fixed, like ASAP. Seriously... there's clearly something up. I was on my way home from class, when i just got dragged into one of the darkest of places i've been emotionally in i don't even know how long. I don't come forwards for help easily... and generally speaking i go to a very select few people when i start getting a little off. Anyways, back to the blargh... i was about halfway home, and i just lost it. Had to pull over to the side of the road and lay down for a bit before i felt okay enough to drive.

Once i got home, i flopped into bed, curled into a ball, and just utterly broke down. I honestly haven't felt this dark in years. I haven't felt soo utterly worthless, unloved and just useless in i don't know how long. The latest time i recall put me on a 6 week binge of life-numbing self indulgence that gave me just enough cheap highs to keep me from doing anything truly damaging or permanent. But.... honestly... i just... i don't know.

I think the closest i can explain is that... i feel like my life was heading somewhere... then suddenly... stopped, and dropped me in the middle of the ocean... and no matter what i do... i'm lost, cold, alone, and just barely keeping myself afloat. It's like, all the good feelings and good vibes just left... and all i feel is cold, resentment, anger and loneliness.

I don't come out often because i don't get this way. I'm always the one to help people when they feel weh, i'm always the pillar of stability. Today, i think i just felt that all crack. I don't know what triggered it... maybe just the dark weather, i dunno... i'm just... i think i need to drop off the face of the earth for a bit. I dunno... maybe i'll be around, maybe i won't... If you see me around, don't try and push me... this is where my darker side tends to come out... and if i happen to be unusually vicious when biting back, i can't say you weren't warn.



TL:DR Something cold and dark is kicking my ass, and i'll probably be reclusive as fuck.

I turn 24 in 5 days. I don't really feel that old... and i can't believe how fast this year has come and gone. I'm starting to get partied out, and i'll be heading off to canada in the next 24 or so hours... give or take.

I think by the time the birfday hits, i'll be partied out, and not wanting to do anything... i'll probably get hauled off anyways... so ya... :B Lisky is getting older, chronologically. That... is a tough one. I've got a lot of them. One of my fondest recent ones was getting drunk, and lost in Munich after getting smashed for all of 5 euros at the pub. Suffice to say, germans are quite friendly with their sharing of alcohol.

Rather than doing the smart thing, and returning to my hotel (where i had most of my stuff) I joined these college students, and went back to one of their places. We proceeded to have a drunken snuggle-sleep thing that had 5 people spooned in a single bed... it was a horrifying conflagration of limbs and body heat... so glad i was the big spoon :B

*shrugs* I dunno... i guess it'd be the reason i'm called "Slut Puppy"? o-o

It's also the family friend's funeral in a few hours... so... that's going to be rather surreal. Hopefully i'll be able to hold things together.... it's just been a really surreal week.

Soo... i just finished up my homework for this evening... popped on FA... and suddenly realized that i've got more than 100 watchers... Since when did this happen? o-o

I'm doing a lot better today... I've been given a lot of room to grieve and rest up... and it's been nice to see all those that care. I'm truly grateful to have been blessed with such amazing people to call friends. So ya... i've been really busy... and i know i probably owe stuff left and right

I was finally getting enough down time to actually try and burn off some stress when i got hit with a bombshell of a phone call. Looks like i'm heading home on Wednesday.

The reason for the phone call is that, a very close family friend, and a man who acted as a second grandfather, passed away. He was a hero to me. He was one of the kindest, gentlest, and most generous people i'd ever encountered. Whenever he was around, he'd impart sagely advice, and tell of his own grand adventures. He taught me my first german, he got me interested in medicine. He was a hero to me, and just a great man.

I remember him taking me to a baseball game... i think it was a weekend. But i dunno... it was sunny, early fall weather. I was like... maybe 10 or 11... It was after the game that really stood out. We were going out to get something to eat, and we came across a homeless man, asking for money for food. He looked at the man, looked at me, then back to the man. I don't think it even occurred to him that something could have possibly gone wrong. Without missing a beat, he politely asked if the gentleman would like to get a hotdog or something with us. I remember him talking to the homeless man... but it was the whole, random generosity that really stood out.

Later in the car ride home, he told me, "Those who feel entitled are the ones who have nothings. Those that give are the ones who receive the most. Generosity is as contagious as any germ. When you know you have a good life, there is no harm in giving to those with less."

Other of his later sagely wisdom included "Those who give are the ones that will get help when they truly need it. It's the ones who take who will find themselves stranded and alone, as people will always remember who their friends really are"

He was always polite, always tried to do more, and when he complained... it was never over something fickle... when he complained... it was because he was asking for help. He had a seemingly inexhaustible source of patience.

One of his favorite stories was a trip he took with my grandfather. A blizzard was coming from the north, and the tip had covered michigan. He and my grandfather were in chicago. They had about a halfhour until the storm hit them, and left them grounded for a good day or 2. They checked the boards, and had 2 options... Wait for a good 2-3 days in a blizzard, or go to Argentina. My "2nd grandfather" pulled out his checkbook... and away they went.

Calling my grandmother from south america, apparently my grandfather didn't have the courage to deal with his wife's wrath... seeing as he just hopped a flight to a foreign country on a whim. If you met the man... you'd realize it wasn't all that surprising.


I'm going to miss him dearly...

The next few days are going to be -very- testing... I get to try and put on a happy face, and continue to try and be me... when right now... i really don't feel like me... i feel like someone just gutted me... and i'm now just a meat puppet for someone masquerading in my skin.

I'm going to apologize in advance if i'm either difficult to reach, distant, or just very short tempered. Life has been tough enough... and i just... i need to get away. I'm glad i set aside next weekend... i'm... really going to need the vacation.

So... For all of those watching me... if you weren't aware, i do promotions for one of my jobs. Yesterday was a flurry of phonecalls during my breaks in class. It was interesting hearing what went into what's going on today. Suffice to say... something big is happening in michigan... something rather fun... and something i'm getting paid to attend.

I'll be at the Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival at DTE Music Theater. If you're going, keep an eye out for the Jagermeister peeps, i'm one of them... just wearing a black t-shirt, bottle of jager on it, on the back it says "Herd"

Today has been pretty good since i got out of work :3

AC was insane. I have never had that much fun at a con, and i can only image what next year will bring.

and met at the lake on wednesday evening. We watched movies, chilled out and just kinda messed around with pre-con prep. It was fun, silly, and a great way to start a roadtrip.

Thursday, arrived in pittsburgh in mid-afternoon and met up with the DMFA gang along with like 10 or so others... (apologies, i know there are more, but i've got more tags to distribute, and only so many are allowed in a single writeup) For the tea party. Headed to the con around 7:30-8pm and just kinda went wild wearing my captain morgan hat. It became what quickly identified me throughout the event. I chatted with people, drew a little, and just kinda had fun getting a feel for how the con would go. Got back around 10-11ish and crashed hard.

Friday: WAS AWESOME. Woke up, showered, got breakfast, walked to the artist's alley, then started saying hi to random people. was there too, and we chatted for a bit.... he abused me under the guise of asking for a hug.

After the meeting and socializing, i headed down to the dealer's den, and chatted it up with a bunch of random people. Met up with the man gang, and ran into some other people as well. That took up a good little while, chatting, spending money and having a good time. By the time things settled, i'd moved on to hallway, and started hanging out with random groups of people, and just getting to know everyone. As evening came, there was drinking, raving and shenanigans. Good times had by all!

Saturday: I officially became slut puppy. Continued the social thing, continued razzing artists... and then the name slut puppy forever became associated with the captain morgan hat... and so i wore it as a badge of pride. More arts, more fun and fursuits everywhere. It was lots of fun. Saturday evening i went drinking with Jesus and Jordan, then went to a roof party. After separating from my group, i refound them like... an hour or 2 later.... having gotten myself out of trouble.

Sunday: A good last hurrah. Slut puppy became permanent thanks to Lizard Beth, Rukis, Damaris, Devdaul, Mab, and well... all the people who started shouting "HEY SLUT PUPPY! GET OVER HERE!" and... me not having enough conscious thought due to lack of sleep, replied, and went over to see what was up. Lots of friends made and it turns out that the circle of friends with Dev and Wolfy... ya... same group... it was kinda awesome.

Monday: Drive home... it was a blast. Convoy of furries heading back west.  Keeatah  onai  shadee  TakutheGhost  devdaul  Kitsunekimmy  hoofer  wolfinthewalls and i'm sure i've missed a few... we all headed home... it was kinda awesome, and hilarious...
